ਬੂਝਤ ਦੀਪਕ ਮਿਲਤ ਤਿਲਤ ॥
boojhat deepak milat tilat |
It is like oil to the lamp whose flame is dying out.
ਜਿਵੇਂ ਬੁੱਝ ਰਹੇ ਦੀਵੇ ਨੂੰ ਤੇਲ ਮਿਲ ਜਾਏ,
ਜਲਤ ਅਗਨੀ ਮਿਲਤ ਨੀਰ ॥
jalat aganee milat neer |
It is like water poured on the burning fire.
ਜਿਵੇਂ ਅੱਗ ਵਿਚ ਸੜ ਰਹੇ ਨੂੰ ਪਾਣੀ ਮਿਲ ਜਾਏ,
ਜੈਸੇ ਬਾਰਿਕ ਮੁਖਹਿ ਖੀਰ ॥੧॥
jaise baarik mukheh kheer |1|
It is like milk poured into the baby's mouth. ||1||
ਜਿਵੇਂ (ਭੁੱਖ ਨਾਲ ਵਿਲਕ ਰਹੇ) ਬੱਚੇ ਦੇ ਮੂੰਹ ਵਿਚ ਦੁੱਧ ਪੈ ਜਾਏ ॥੧॥
ਜੈਸੇ ਰਣ ਮਹਿ ਸਖਾ ਭ੍ਰਾਤ ॥
jaise ran meh sakhaa bhraat |
As one's brother becomes a helper on the field of battle
(ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਇਉਂ ਸਹਾਈ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ) ਜਿਵੇਂ ਜੁੱਧ ਵਿਚ ਭਰਾ ਸਹਾਈ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ,
ਜੈਸੇ ਭੂਖੇ ਭੋਜਨ ਮਾਤ ॥
jaise bhookhe bhojan maat |
as one's hunger is satisfied by food
ਜਿਵੇਂ ਕਿਸੇ ਭੁੱਖੇ ਨੂੰ ਭੋਜਨ ਹੀ ਸਹਾਈ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ,
ਜੈਸੇ ਕਿਰਖਹਿ ਬਰਸ ਮੇਘ ॥
jaise kirakheh baras megh |
as the cloudburst saves the crops
ਜਿਵੇਂ ਖੇਤੀ ਨੂੰ ਬੱਦਲ ਦਾ ਵਰ੍ਹਨਾ,
ਜੈਸੇ ਪਾਲਨ ਸਰਨਿ ਸੇਂਘ ॥੨॥
jaise paalan saran sengh |2|
as one is protected in the tiger's lair ||2||
ਜਿਵੇਂ (ਕਿਸੇ ਅਨਾਥ ਨੂੰ) ਸ਼ੇਰ (ਬਹਾਦਰ) ਦੀ ਸਰਨ ਵਿਚ ਰੱਖਿਆ ਮਿਲਦੀ ਹੈ ॥੨॥
ਗਰੁੜ ਮੁਖਿ ਨਹੀ ਸਰਪ ਤ੍ਰਾਸ ॥
garurr mukh nahee sarap traas |
As with the magic spell of Garuda the eagle upon one's lips, one does not fear the snake
(ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਇਉਂ ਸਹਾਈ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ) ਜਿਵੇਂ ਜਿਸ ਦੇ ਮੂੰਹ ਵਿਚ ਗਾਰੁੜ ਮੰਤਰ ਹੋਵੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਸੱਪ ਦਾ ਡਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੁੰਦਾ,
ਸੂਆ ਪਿੰਜਰਿ ਨਹੀ ਖਾਇ ਬਿਲਾਸੁ ॥
sooaa pinjar nahee khaae bilaas |
as the cat cannot eat the parrot in its cage
ਜਿਵੇਂ ਪਿੰਜਰੇ ਵਿਚ ਬੈਠੇ ਤੋਤੇ ਨੂੰ ਬਿੱਲਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਖਾ ਸਕਦਾ,
ਜੈਸੋ ਆਂਡੋ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਮਾਹਿ ॥
jaiso aanddo hirade maeh |
as the bird cherishes her eggs in her heart
ਜਿਵੇਂ ਕੂੰਜ ਦੇ ਚੇਤੇ ਵਿਚ ਟਿਕੇ ਹੋਏ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਆਂਡੇ (ਖ਼ਰਾਬ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੁੰਦੇ),
ਜੈਸੋ ਦਾਨੋ ਚਕੀ ਦਰਾਹਿ ॥੩॥
jaiso daano chakee daraeh |3|
as the grains are spared, by sticking to the central post of the mill ||3||
ਜਿਵੇਂ ਦਾਣੇ ਚੱਕੀ ਦੀ ਕਿੱਲੀ ਨਾਲ (ਟਿਕੇ ਹੋਏ ਪੀਸਣੋਂ ਬਚੇ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ) ॥੩॥
ਬਹੁਤੁ ਓਪਮਾ ਥੋਰ ਕਹੀ ॥
bahut opamaa thor kahee |
Your Glory is so great I can describe only a tiny bit of it.
ਮੈਂ ਤਾਂ ਇਹ ਥੋੜ੍ਹੇ ਜਿਹੇ ਦ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਟਾਂਤ ਹੀ ਦੱਸੇ ਹਨ, ਬਥੇਰੇ ਦੱਸੇ ਜਾ ਸਕਦੇ ਹਨ (ਕਿ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਸਹਾਇਤਾ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ)।
ਹਰਿ ਅਗਮ ਅਗਮ ਅਗਾਧਿ ਤੁਹੀ ॥
har agam agam agaadh tuhee |
O Lord, You are inaccessible, unapproachable and unfathomable.
ਹੇ ਅਪਹੁੰਚ ਹਰੀ! ਹੇ ਅਥਾਹ ਹਰੀ! ਤੂੰ ਹੀ (ਜੀਵਾਂ ਦਾ ਰੱਖਿਅਕ ਹੈਂ)।
ਊਚ ਮੂਚੌ ਬਹੁ ਅਪਾਰ ॥
aooch moochau bahu apaar |
You are lofty and high, utterly great and infinite.
ਹੇ ਹਰੀ! ਤੂੰ ਉੱਚਾ ਹੈਂ, ਤੂੰ ਵੱਡਾ ਹੈਂ, ਤੂੰ ਬੇਅੰਤ ਹੈਂ।
ਸਿਮਰਤ ਨਾਨਕ ਤਰੇ ਸਾਰ ॥੪॥੩॥

Meditating in remembrance on the Lord, O Nanak, one is carried across. ||4||3||
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਨਾਮ ਸਿਮਰਦਿਆਂ ਪਾਪਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਲੋਹੇ ਵਾਂਗ ਭਾਰੇ ਹੋਏ ਜੀਵ ਭੀ ਸੰਸਾਰ-ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਤੋਂ ਪਾਰ ਲੰਘ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ ॥੪॥੩॥

ਇਹ (ਸੰਤ-ਸਰਨ) ਹੀ ਮੇਰੇ ਵਾਸਤੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨੋਰਥਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸਫਲ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੀ ਹੈ।
ਅਪੁਨੇ ਦਾਸ ਕਉ ਲੇਹੁ ਨਿਵਾਜਿ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥

Please cherish and exalt Your slave. ||1||Pause||
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਆਪਣੇ ਦਾਸ (ਨਾਨਕ) ਉਤੇ ਮਿਹਰ ਕਰ (ਤੇ ਸੰਤ ਜਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਸਰਨ ਬਖ਼ਸ਼) ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ਚਰਨ ਸੰਤਹ ਮਾਥ ਮੋਰ ॥

I lay my forehead on the feet of the Saints,
(ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਮਿਹਰ ਕਰ) ਮੇਰਾ ਮੱਥਾ ਸੰਤਾਂ ਦੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਉਤੇ (ਪਿਆ ਰਹੇ),
ਨੈਨਿ ਦਰਸੁ ਪੇਖਉ ਨਿਸਿ ਭੋਰ ॥
nain daras pekhau nis bhor |
and with my eyes, I gaze upon the Blessed Vision of their Darshan, day and night.
ਅੱਖਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਮੈਂ ਦਿਨ ਰਾਤ ਸੰਤਾਂ ਦਾ ਦਰਸ਼ਨ ਕਰਦਾ ਰਹਾਂ,
ਹਸਤ ਹਮਰੇ ਸੰਤ ਟਹਲ ॥
hasat hamare sant ttehal |
With my hands, I work for the Saints.
ਮੇਰੇ ਹੱਥ ਸੰਤਾਂ ਦੀ ਟਹਿਲ ਕਰਦੇ ਰਹਿਣ,
ਪ੍ਰਾਨ ਮਨੁ ਧਨੁ ਸੰਤ ਬਹਲ ॥੧॥
praan man dhan sant behal |1|
I dedicate my breath of life, my mind and wealth to the Saints. ||1||
ਮੇਰੀ ਜਿੰਦ ਮੇਰਾ ਮਨ ਮੇਰਾ ਧਨ ਸੰਤਾਂ ਦੇ ਅਰਪਨ ਰਹੇ ॥੧॥
ਸੰਤਸੰਗਿ ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨ ਕੀ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਿ ॥
santasang mere man kee preet |
My mind loves the Society of the Saints.
(ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ!) ਮਿਹਰ ਕਰ) ਸੰਤਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨ ਦਾ ਪਿਆਰ ਬਣਿਆ ਰਹੇ,
ਸੰਤ ਗੁਨ ਬਸਹਿ ਮੇਰੈ ਚੀਤਿ ॥
sant gun baseh merai cheet |
The Virtues of the Saints abide within my consciousness.
ਸੰਤਾਂ ਦੇ ਗੁਣ ਮੇਰੇ ਚਿੱਤ ਵਿਚ ਵੱਸੇ ਰਹਿਣ,
ਸੰਤ ਆਗਿਆ ਮਨਹਿ ਮੀਠ ॥
sant aagiaa maneh meetth |
The Will of the Saints is sweet to my mind.
ਸੰਤਾਂ ਦਾ ਹੁਕਮ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਮਿੱਠਾ ਲੱਗੇ,
ਮੇਰਾ ਕਮਲੁ ਬਿਗਸੈ ਸੰਤ ਡੀਠ ॥੨॥
meraa kamal bigasai sant ddeetth |2|
Seeing the Saints, my heart-lotus blossoms forth. ||2||
ਸੰਤਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਵੇਖ ਕੇ ਮੇਰਾ ਹਿਰਦਾ-ਕੰਵਲ ਖਿੜਿਆ ਰਹੇ ॥੨॥
ਸੰਤਸੰਗਿ ਮੇਰਾ ਹੋਇ ਨਿਵਾਸੁ ॥
santasang meraa hoe nivaas |
I dwell in the Society of the Saints.
(ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਮਿਹਰ ਕਰ) ਸੰਤਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਮੇਰਾ ਬਹਿਣ-ਖਲੋਣ ਬਣਿਆ ਰਹੇ,
ਸੰਤਨ ਕੀ ਮੋਹਿ ਬਹੁਤੁ ਪਿਆਸ ॥
santan kee mohi bahut piaas |
I have such a great thirst for the Saints.
ਸੰਤਾਂ ਦੇ ਦਰਸ਼ਨ ਦੀ ਤਾਂਘ ਮੇਰੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਟਿਕੀ ਰਹੇ,
ਸੰਤ ਬਚਨ ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨਹਿ ਮੰਤ ॥
sant bachan mere maneh mant |
The Words of the Saints are the Mantras of my mind.
ਸੰਤਾਂ ਦੇ ਬਚਨ-ਮੰਤ੍ਰ ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਟਿਕੇ ਰਹਿਣ,
ਸੰਤ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ਮੇਰੇ ਬਿਖੈ ਹੰਤ ॥੩॥
sant prasaad mere bikhai hant |3|
By the Grace of the Saints, my corruption is taken away. ||3||
ਸੰਤਾਂ ਦੀ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਨਾਲ ਮੇਰੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਵਿਕਾਰ ਨਾਸ ਹੋ ਜਾਣ ॥੩॥
ਮੁਕਤਿ ਜੁਗਤਿ ਏਹਾ ਨਿਧਾਨ ॥
mukat jugat ehaa nidhaan |
This way of liberation is my treasure.
ਸੰਤਾਂ ਦੀ ਸੰਗਤ ਹੀ ਮੇਰੇ ਵਾਸਤੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਖ਼ਜ਼ਾਨੇ ਹਨ।
ਪ੍ਰਭ ਦਇਆਲ ਮੋਹਿ ਦੇਵਹੁ ਦਾਨ ॥
prabh deaal mohi devahu daan |
O Merciful God, please bless me with this gift.
ਹੇ ਦਇਆ ਦੇ ਘਰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਮੈਨੂੰ (ਸੰਤ ਜਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਸੰਗਤ ਦਾ) ਦਾਨ ਦੇਹ,
ਨਾਨਕ ਕਉ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਦਇਆ ਧਾਰਿ ॥
naanak kau prabh deaa dhaar |
O God, shower Your Mercy upon Nanak.
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਨਾਨਕ ਉੱਤੇ ਦਇਆ ਕਰ ਕਿ ਸੰਤਾਂ ਦੇ ਚਰਨ ਮੈਂ ਨਾਨਕ ਦੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਵੱਸੇ ਰਹਿਣ,
ਚਰਨ ਸੰਤਨ ਕੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਰਿਦੇ ਮਝਾਰਿ ॥੪॥੪॥
charan santan ke mere ride majhaar |4|4|
I have enshrined the feet of the Saints within my heart. ||4||4||
(ਕਿਉਂਕਿ) ਸੰਤਾਂ ਦਾ ਸੰਗ ਕਰਨਾ ਹੀ ਵਿਕਾਰਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਮੁਕਤੀ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕਰਨ ਦਾ ਤਰੀਕਾ ਹੈ ॥੪॥੪॥

ਸਭ ਕੈ ਸੰਗੀ ਨਾਹੀ ਦੂਰਿ ॥

He is with all He is not far away.
ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਸਭਨਾਂ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਵੱਸਦਾ ਹੈ, ਕਿਸੇ ਤੋਂ ਭੀ ਦੂਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ।
ਕਰਨ ਕਰਾਵਨ ਹਾਜਰਾ ਹਜੂਰਿ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥

He is the Cause of causes, ever-present here and now. ||1||Pause||
ਉਹ ਆਪ ਸਭ ਕੁਝ ਕਰ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਪਾਸੋਂ ਕਰਾ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਹਰ ਥਾਂ ਮੌਜੂਦ ਹੈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ਸੁਨਤ ਜੀਓ ਜਾਸੁ ਨਾਮੁ ॥
sunat jeeo jaas naam |
Hearing His Name, one comes to life.
ਜਿਸ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਸੁਣਦਿਆਂ ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਮਿਲਦਾ ਹੈ,
ਦੁਖ ਬਿਨਸੇ ਸੁਖ ਕੀਓ ਬਿਸ੍ਰਾਮੁ ॥
dukh binase sukh keeo bisraam |
Pain is dispelled peace and tranquility come to dwell within.
ਸਾਰੇ ਦੁੱਖ ਦੂਰ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ (ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ) ਸੁਖ ਟਿਕਾਣਾ ਆ ਬਣਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ।
ਸਗਲ ਨਿਧਿ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਹਰੇ ॥
sagal nidh har har hare |
The Lord, Har, Har, is all treasure.
(ਸੰਸਾਰ ਦੇ) ਸਾਰੇ ਹੀ ਖ਼ਜ਼ਾਨੇ ਉਸ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਪਾਸ ਹਨ।
ਮੁਨਿ ਜਨ ਤਾ ਕੀ ਸੇਵ ਕਰੇ ॥੧॥
mun jan taa kee sev kare |1|
The silent sages serve Him. ||1||
ਸਭ ਰਿਸ਼ੀ ਮੁਨੀ ਉਸੇ ਦੀ ਭਗਤੀ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ ॥੧॥
ਜਾ ਕੈ ਘਰਿ ਸਗਲੇ ਸਮਾਹਿ ॥
jaa kai ghar sagale samaeh |
Everything is contained in His home.
ਜਿਸ ਦੇ ਘਰ ਵਿਚ ਸਾਰੇ ਹੀ (ਖ਼ਜ਼ਾਨੇ) ਟਿਕੇ ਹੋਏ ਹਨ,
ਜਿਸ ਤੇ ਬਿਰਥਾ ਕੋਇ ਨਾਹਿ ॥
jis te birathaa koe naeh |
No one is turned away empty-handed.
ਜਿਸ (ਦੇ ਦਰ) ਤੋਂ ਕੋਈ ਜੀਵ ਖ਼ਾਲੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾਂਦਾ,
ਜੀਅ ਜੰਤ੍ਰ ਕਰੇ ਪ੍ਰਤਿਪਾਲ ॥
jeea jantr kare pratipaal |
He cherishes all beings and creatures.
ਜੋ ਸਭ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਦੀ ਪਾਲਣਾ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ,
ਸਦਾ ਸਦਾ ਸੇਵਹੁ ਕਿਰਪਾਲ ॥੨॥
sadaa sadaa sevahu kirapaal |2|
Forever and ever, serve the Merciful Lord. ||2||
ਉਸ ਕਿਰਪਾਲ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਭਗਤੀ ਸਦਾ ਹੀ ਕਰਦੇ ਰਹੋ ॥੨॥
ਸਦਾ ਧਰਮੁ ਜਾ ਕੈ ਦੀਬਾਣਿ ॥
sadaa dharam jaa kai deebaan |
Righteous justice is dispensed in His Court forever.
ਜਿਸ ਦੀ ਕਚਹਿਰੀ ਵਿਚ ਸਦਾ ਨਿਆਂ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ,
ਬੇਮੁਹਤਾਜ ਨਹੀ ਕਿਛੁ ਕਾਣਿ ॥
bemuhataaj nahee kichh kaan |
He is carefree, and owes allegiance to no one.
ਜੋ ਬੇ-ਮੁਥਾਜ ਹੈ ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਕਿਸੇ ਦੀ ਮੁਥਾਜੀ ਨਹੀਂ,
ਸਭ ਕਿਛੁ ਕਰਨਾ ਆਪਨ ਆਪਿ ॥
sabh kichh karanaa aapan aap |
He Himself, by Himself, does everything.
ਜੋ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਸਭ ਕੁਝ ਕਰਨ ਦੇ ਸਮਰੱਥ ਹੈ,
ਰੇ ਮਨ ਮੇਰੇ ਤੂ ਤਾ ਕਉ ਜਾਪਿ ॥੩॥
re man mere too taa kau jaap |3|
O my mind, meditate on Him. ||3||
ਹੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨ! ਤੂੰ ਉਸ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਜਪਿਆ ਕਰ ॥੩॥
ਸਾਧਸੰਗਤਿ ਕਉ ਹਉ ਬਲਿਹਾਰ ॥
saadhasangat kau hau balihaar |
I am a sacrifice to the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy.
ਮੈਂ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸੰਗਤ ਤੋਂ ਕੁਰਬਾਨ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹਾਂ,
ਜਾਸੁ ਮਿਲਿ ਹੋਵੈ ਉਧਾਰੁ ॥
jaas mil hovai udhaar |
Joining them, I am saved.
ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਮਿਲ ਕੇ (ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਮਿਲਦਾ ਹੈ, ਅਤੇ ਸੰਸਾਰ-ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਤੋਂ) ਪਾਰ-ਉਤਾਰਾ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਨਾਮ ਸੰਗਿ ਮਨ ਤਨਹਿ ਰਾਤ ॥
naam sang man taneh raat |
My mind and body are attuned to the Naam, the Name of the Lord.
ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਨੇ (ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਰਾਹੀਂ) ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੂੰ (ਨਾਮ ਦੀ) ਦਾਤ ਬਖ਼ਸ਼ੀ, ਉਹ ਨਾਮ ਨਾਲ ਰੰਗਿਆ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਨਾਨਕ ਕਉ ਪ੍ਰਭਿ ਕਰੀ ਦਾਤਿ ॥੪॥੫॥
naanak kau prabh karee daat |4|5|
God has blessed Nanak with this gift. ||4||5||
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਉਸ ਦੇ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਤਨ ਵਿਚ ਨਾਮ (ਵੱਸਿਆ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ) ॥੪॥੫॥

ਅਕਾਲ ਪੁਰਖ ਇੱਕ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਨਾਲ ਮਿਲਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਹਰਿ ਸਮਰਥ ਕੀ ਸਰਨਾ ॥
har samarath kee saranaa |
I seek the Sanctuary of the all-powerful Lord.
ਮੈਂ ਤਾਂ ਉਸ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਸਰਨ ਪਿਆ ਹਾਂ ਜੋ ਸਭ ਤਾਕਤਾਂ ਦਾ ਮਾਲਕ ਹੈ।
ਜੀਉ ਪਿੰਡੁ ਧਨੁ ਰਾਸਿ ਮੇਰੀ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਏਕ ਕਾਰਨ ਕਰਨਾ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
jeeo pindd dhan raas meree prabh ek kaaran karanaa |1| rahaau |
My soul, body, wealth and capital belong to the One God, the Cause of causes. ||1||Pause||
ਮੇਰੀ ਜਿੰਦ, ਮੇਰਾ ਸਰੀਰ, ਮੇਰਾ ਧਨ, ਮੇਰਾ ਸਰਮਾਇਆ-ਸਭ ਕੁਝ ਉਹ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਹੀ ਹੈ ਜੋ ਸਾਰੇ ਜਗਤ ਦਾ ਮੂਲ ਹੈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ਸਿਮਰਿ ਸਿਮਰਿ ਸਦਾ ਸੁਖੁ ਪਾਈਐ ਜੀਵਣੈ ਕਾ ਮੂਲੁ ॥
simar simar sadaa sukh paaeeai jeevanai kaa mool |
Meditating, meditating in remembrance on Him, I have found everlasting peace. He is the source of life.
ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਸਿਮਰ ਸਿਮਰ ਕੇ ਸਦਾ ਆਤਮਕ ਆਨੰਦ ਹਾਸਲ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਹਰਿ-ਨਾਮ ਹੀ ਜ਼ਿੰਦਗੀ ਦਾ ਸਹਾਰਾ ਹੈ।
ਰਵਿ ਰਹਿਆ ਸਰਬਤ ਠਾਈ ਸੂਖਮੋ ਅਸਥੂਲ ॥੧॥
rav rahiaa sarabat tthaaee sookhamo asathool |1|
He is all-pervading, permeating all places He is in subtle essence and manifest form. ||1||
ਇਹਨਾਂ ਦਿੱਸਦੇ ਅਣਦਿੱਸਦੇ ਪਦਾਰਥਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਸਭਨੀਂ ਥਾਈਂ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਹੀ ਮੌਜੂਦ ਹੈ ॥੧॥
