How to use the Key Finder
- Press "Choose file" and pick a recording of the kirtan. Audio and video both work. Use a recording you own or have permission to use.
- Wait while it listens. A five-minute shabad usually takes ten to twenty seconds on a phone.
- At the top you will see the Sa of the recording. Below it, every note is written out in short lines with times. Tap a note or a time to hear that exact spot.
- If you play in a different Sa, change "Play Sa on key". All the keys move for you, and the sargam stays the same.
- Press "Download PDF" to keep the notes, or print them for your practice book.
Questions
Is my recording uploaded anywhere?
No. The recording is opened and analysed on your own phone or computer. Nothing is sent to this website.
Some notes look wrong. Why?
It follows the main tune of the recording. A clear voice or harmonium works best. A big chorus, lots of echo or very loud tabla can confuse it. If the Sa looks wrong, choose it yourself in the Sa box. Always check the notes by ear and with your ustad.
There are lots of tiny notes I do not need.
Move the "Shortest note" slider up. Very short passing notes will be hidden and the main melody stays.
How long can the recording be?
Up to 20 minutes. For a longer kirtan, only the first 20 minutes are read.
Can it replace learning from a teacher?
No. It saves time in finding the notes, but how a shabad is sung, with its pauses, meend and feeling, is learned from listening and from your ustad.

Harmonium Key Finder ਕਿਵੇਂ ਵਰਤਣਾ ਹੈ
- "ਫ਼ਾਈਲ ਚੁਣੋ" ਦਬਾਓ ਅਤੇ ਕੀਰਤਨ ਦੀ ਰਿਕਾਰਡਿੰਗ ਚੁਣੋ। ਆਡੀਓ ਅਤੇ ਵੀਡੀਓ ਦੋਵੇਂ ਚੱਲਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ। YouTube ਜਾਂ Instagram ਵਾਲੀ ਹੈ ਤਾਂ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਫ਼ਾਈਲ ਫ਼ੋਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਡਾਊਨਲੋਡ ਕਰੋ।
- ਜਦ ਤੱਕ ਇਹ ਸੁਣਦਾ ਹੈ, ਥੋੜ੍ਹੀ ਉਡੀਕ ਕਰੋ। ਪੰਜ ਮਿੰਟ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਨੂੰ ਫ਼ੋਨ ਉੱਤੇ ਆਮ ਤੌਰ ਤੇ ਦਸ ਤੋਂ ਵੀਹ ਸਕਿੰਟ ਲੱਗਦੇ ਹਨ।
- ਉੱਪਰ ਰਿਕਾਰਡਿੰਗ ਦਾ ਸਾ ਦਿਸੇਗਾ। ਉਸ ਦੇ ਹੇਠਾਂ ਹਰ ਸੁਰ ਸਮੇਂ ਸਮੇਤ ਛੋਟੀਆਂ ਪੰਕਤੀਆਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਲਿਖਿਆ ਹੈ। ਕਿਸੇ ਸੁਰ ਜਾਂ ਸਮੇਂ ਉੱਤੇ ਦਬਾ ਕੇ ਉਹੀ ਥਾਂ ਸੁਣੋ।
- ਜੇ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਕਿਸੇ ਹੋਰ ਸਾ ਵਿੱਚ ਵਜਾਉਂਦੇ ਹੋ ਤਾਂ "ਸਾ ਕਿਸ ਕੀ ਉੱਤੇ ਵਜਾਉਣਾ ਹੈ" ਬਦਲੋ। ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਸੁਰਾਂ ਆਪਣੇ-ਆਪ ਬਦਲ ਜਾਂਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਸਰਗਮ ਉਹੀ ਰਹਿੰਦੀ ਹੈ।
- ਸੁਰਾਂ ਸੰਭਾਲਣ ਲਈ "PDF ਡਾਊਨਲੋਡ ਕਰੋ" ਦਬਾਓ, ਜਾਂ ਅਭਿਆਸ ਵਾਲੀ ਕਾਪੀ ਲਈ ਛਾਪ ਲਵੋ।

ਕੀ ਮੇਰੀ ਰਿਕਾਰਡਿੰਗ ਕਿਤੇ ਅੱਪਲੋਡ ਹੁੰਦੀ ਹੈ?
ਨਹੀਂ। ਰਿਕਾਰਡਿੰਗ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਫ਼ੋਨ ਜਾਂ ਕੰਪਿਊਟਰ ਉੱਤੇ ਹੀ ਖੁੱਲ੍ਹਦੀ ਅਤੇ ਜਾਂਚੀ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ। ਇਸ ਵੈੱਬਸਾਈਟ ਉੱਤੇ ਕੁਝ ਨਹੀਂ ਆਉਂਦਾ।
ਕੁਝ ਸੁਰ ਗ਼ਲਤ ਲੱਗਦੇ ਹਨ। ਕਿਉਂ?
ਇਹ ਰਿਕਾਰਡਿੰਗ ਦੀ ਮੁੱਖ ਧੁਨ ਦੇ ਪਿੱਛੇ ਚੱਲਦਾ ਹੈ। ਸਾਫ਼ ਆਵਾਜ਼ ਜਾਂ ਹਾਰਮੋਨੀਅਮ ਸਭ ਤੋਂ ਵਧੀਆ ਚੱਲਦੇ ਹਨ। ਵੱਡੀ ਸੰਗਤ, ਬਹੁਤੀ ਗੂੰਜ ਜਾਂ ਬਹੁਤ ਉੱਚਾ ਤਬਲਾ ਇਸ ਨੂੰ ਉਲਝਾ ਸਕਦੇ ਹਨ। ਸਾ ਗ਼ਲਤ ਲੱਗੇ ਤਾਂ ਸਾ ਵਾਲੇ ਖ਼ਾਨੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਆਪ ਚੁਣ ਲਵੋ। ਸੁਰਾਂ ਹਮੇਸ਼ਾ ਕੰਨਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਅਤੇ ਉਸਤਾਦ ਜੀ ਨਾਲ ਜਾਂਚੋ।
ਬਹੁਤ ਸਾਰੇ ਛੋਟੇ-ਛੋਟੇ ਸੁਰ ਹਨ ਜੋ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਨਹੀਂ ਚਾਹੀਦੇ।
"ਸਭ ਤੋਂ ਛੋਟੀ ਸੁਰ" ਵਾਲਾ ਸਲਾਈਡਰ ਉੱਪਰ ਕਰੋ। ਬਹੁਤ ਛੋਟੇ ਲੰਘਦੇ ਸੁਰ ਲੁਕ ਜਾਣਗੇ ਅਤੇ ਮੁੱਖ ਧੁਨ ਰਹਿ ਜਾਵੇਗੀ।
ਰਿਕਾਰਡਿੰਗ ਕਿੰਨੀ ਲੰਮੀ ਹੋ ਸਕਦੀ ਹੈ?
20 ਮਿੰਟ ਤੱਕ। ਇਸ ਤੋਂ ਲੰਮੇ ਕੀਰਤਨ ਦੇ ਸਿਰਫ਼ ਪਹਿਲੇ 20 ਮਿੰਟ ਪੜ੍ਹੇ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ।
ਕੀ ਇਹ ਉਸਤਾਦ ਤੋਂ ਸਿੱਖਣ ਦੀ ਥਾਂ ਲੈ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ?
ਨਹੀਂ। ਇਹ ਸੁਰ ਲੱਭਣ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਮਾਂ ਬਚਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਪਰ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਕਿਵੇਂ ਗਾਇਆ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਦੇ ਠਹਿਰਾਅ, ਮੀਂਡ ਅਤੇ ਭਾਵ, ਇਹ ਸੁਣ ਕੇ ਅਤੇ ਉਸਤਾਦ ਜੀ ਤੋਂ ਹੀ ਸਿੱਖਿਆ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
