Privacy for learners and families
No accounts
The Shabad Library, the lessons and all the practice tools are open to everyone. We do not ask for your name, email or any other personal details, and we do not collect information from children.
Harmonium Key Finder
When you select an audio or video file, the Key Finder analyses its sound in the browser on your device. The recording is not uploaded to this site. Please use recordings you have permission to practise with.
Kirtan practice tools
The practice tools in /tools/ run in the browser on your device. Sur Practice and the Practice Recorder ask for permission to use the microphone; the voice is analysed or recorded on your device only and is never uploaded to this site. Recordings stay in the open page until you download or delete them. The Slow-down Player and Kirtan Audio Practice open audio files on your device without uploading them. A few settings (chosen Sa, voice range, language, night mode, quiz best score, lesson ticks) and the Practice Log are saved only in your browser’s local storage, which is not a cookie and is never sent to us, and can be removed by clearing this site’s data in your browser.
Information handled by the hosting provider
Like every website, the hosting provider processes technical connection information (such as internet address and browser type) to deliver and protect the site. See Hostinger’s privacy policy for details.
Advertising
There is no advertising on NaamSimar. If that ever changes, this page will be updated first, and because NaamSimar is used by families with children, any advertising would be set up with child-appropriate protections and without personalised ads.
Children and families
Children should use the learning activities with a parent, guardian or teacher. Please do not send a child’s personal information through the contact page. For the books behind the lessons, families can visit T.H.T. Publications.
Changes
If we change how information is handled, we will update this page and the date below before the change takes effect.
