ਤੁਮਰੀ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾ ਤੇ ਲਾਗੀ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਿ ॥

By Your Grace, we love You.
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਤੇਰੀ ਮਿਹਰ ਨਾਲ ਹੀ (ਤੇਰੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਕਿਸੇ ਭਾਗਾਂ ਵਾਲੇ ਦੀ) ਪ੍ਰੀਤ ਬਣਦੀ ਹੈ।
ਦਇਆਲ ਭਏ ਤਾ ਆਏ ਚੀਤਿ ॥
deaal bhe taa aae cheet |
When You show Mercy, then You come into our minds.
(ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਉੱਤੇ ਜਦੋਂ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਜੀ) ਦਇਆਵਨ ਹੁੰਦੇ ਹਨ ਤਦੋਂ ਉਸਦੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਆ ਵੱਸਦੇ ਹਨ।
ਦਇਆ ਧਾਰੀ ਤਿਨਿ ਧਾਰਣਹਾਰ ॥
deaa dhaaree tin dhaaranahaar |
When the Support of the earth granted His Grace,
ਦਇਆ ਕਰਨ ਜੋਗੇ ਉਸ (ਪ੍ਰਭੂ) ਨੇ (ਜਿਸ ਬੰਦੇ ਉਤੇ) ਦਇਆ ਕੀਤੀ,
ਬੰਧਨ ਤੇ ਹੋਈ ਛੁਟਕਾਰ ॥੭॥
bandhan te hoee chhuttakaar |7|
then I was released from my bonds. ||7||
(ਉਸ ਬੰਦੇ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਮੋਹ ਦੇ) ਬੰਧਨਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਸਦਾ ਲਈ ਖ਼ਲਾਸੀ ਮਿਲ ਗਈ ॥੭॥
ਸਭਿ ਥਾਨ ਦੇਖੇ ਨੈਣ ਅਲੋਇ ॥
sabh thaan dekhe nain aloe |
I have seen all places with my eyes wide open.
ਉਹ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਅੱਖਾਂ ਖੋਹਲ ਕੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਥਾਂ ਵੇਖਦਾ ਹੈ,
ਤਿਸੁ ਬਿਨੁ ਦੂਜਾ ਅਵਰੁ ਨ ਕੋਇ ॥
tis bin doojaa avar na koe |
There is no other than Him.
ਉਸ ਨੂੰ (ਕਿਤੇ ਭੀ) ਉਸ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ ਕੋਈ ਹੋਰ ਦੂਜਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਦਿੱਸਦਾ।
ਭ੍ਰਮ ਭੈ ਛੂਟੇ ਗੁਰ ਪਰਸਾਦ ॥
bhram bhai chhootte gur parasaad |
Doubt and fear are dispelled, by Guru's Grace.
ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਨਾਲ (ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੇ) ਸਾਰੇ ਵਹਿਮ ਸਾਰੇ ਡਰ ਮੁੱਕ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ,
ਨਾਨਕ ਪੇਖਿਓ ਸਭੁ ਬਿਸਮਾਦ ॥੮॥੪॥
naanak pekhio sabh bisamaad |8|4|
Nanak sees the wondrous Lord everywhere. ||8||4||
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਉਹ ਹਰ ਥਾਂ ਉਸ ਅਸਚਰਜ-ਰੂਪ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨੂੰ ਹੀ ਵੇਖਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੮॥੪॥

ਜੀਅ ਜੰਤ ਸਭਿ ਪੇਖੀਅਹਿ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਸਗਲ ਤੁਮਾਰੀ ਧਾਰਨਾ ॥੧॥
jeea jant sabh pekheeeh prabh sagal tumaaree dhaaranaa |1|
All beings and creatures that are seen, God, depend on Your Support. ||1||
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਇਹ ਸਾਰੇ ਜੀਵ ਜੰਤ ਜੋ ਦਿੱਸ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ, ਇਹ ਸਾਰੇ ਤੇਰੇ ਹੀ ਆਸਰੇ ਹਨ ॥੧॥
ਇਹੁ ਮਨੁ ਹਰਿ ਕੈ ਨਾਮਿ ਉਧਾਰਨਾ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
eihu man har kai naam udhaaranaa |1| rahaau |
This mind is saved through the Name of the Lord. ||1||Pause||
(ਕਾਮ ਕ੍ਰੋਧ ਲੋਭ ਝੂਠ ਨਿੰਦਾ ਆਦਿਕ ਤੋਂ) ਇਸ ਮਨ ਨੂੰ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਦੀ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਹੀ ਬਚਾਇਆ ਜਾ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ਖਿਨ ਮਹਿ ਥਾਪਿ ਉਥਾਪੇ ਕੁਦਰਤਿ ਸਭਿ ਕਰਤੇ ਕੇ ਕਾਰਨਾ ॥੨॥
khin meh thaap uthaape kudarat sabh karate ke kaaranaa |2|
In an instant, He establishes and disestablishes, by His Creative Power. All is the Creation of the Creator. ||2||
ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਇਸ ਰਚਨਾ ਨੂੰ ਇਕ ਖਿਨ ਵਿਚ ਪੈਦਾ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਫਿਰ ਨਾਸ ਭੀ ਕਰ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ। ਇਹ ਸਾਰੇ ਕਰਤਾਰ ਦੇ ਹੀ ਖੇਲ ਹਨ ॥੨॥
ਕਾਮੁ ਕ੍ਰੋਧੁ ਲੋਭੁ ਝੂਠੁ ਨਿੰਦਾ ਸਾਧੂ ਸੰਗਿ ਬਿਦਾਰਨਾ ॥੩॥
kaam krodh lobh jhootth nindaa saadhoo sang bidaaranaa |3|
Sexual desire, anger, greed, falsehood and slander are banished in the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy. ||3||
ਕਾਮ ਕ੍ਰੋਧ ਲੋਭ ਝੂਠ ਨਿੰਦਾ ਆਦਿਕ ਵਿਕਾਰ ਨੂੰ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸੰਗਤ ਵਿਚ ਰਹਿ ਕੇ (ਆਪਣੇ ਮਨ ਵਿਚੋਂ ਚੀਰ ਫਾੜ ਕੇ) ਦੂਰ ਕਰ ਸਕੀਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੩॥
ਨਾਮੁ ਜਪਤ ਮਨੁ ਨਿਰਮਲ ਹੋਵੈ ਸੂਖੇ ਸੂਖਿ ਗੁਦਾਰਨਾ ॥੪॥
naam japat man niramal hovai sookhe sookh gudaaranaa |4|
Chanting the Naam, the Name of the Lord, the mind becomes immaculate, and life is passed in absolute peace. ||4||
ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਜਪਦਿਆਂ (ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦਾ) ਮਨ ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ। (ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੀ ਉਮਰ) ਨਿਰੋਲ ਆਤਮਕ ਆਨੰਦ ਵਿਚ ਹੀ ਬੀਤਦੀ ਹੈ ॥੪॥
ਭਗਤ ਸਰਣਿ ਜੋ ਆਵੈ ਪ੍ਰਾਣੀ ਤਿਸੁ ਈਹਾ ਊਹਾ ਨ ਹਾਰਨਾ ॥੫॥
bhagat saran jo aavai praanee tis eehaa aoohaa na haaranaa |5|
That mortal who enters the Sanctuary of the devotees, does not lose out, here or hereafter. ||5||
ਜਿਹੜਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਬੰਦਗੀ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਬੰਦਿਆਂ ਦੀ ਸਰਨ ਆਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਇਸ ਲੋਕ ਵਿਚ ਤੇ ਪਰਲੋਕ ਵਿਚ ਭੀ (ਵਿਕਾਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਹੱਥੋਂ ਆਪਣੀ ਮਨੁੱਖਾ ਜੀਵਨ ਦੀ ਬਾਜ਼ੀ) ਹਾਰਦਾ ਨਹੀਂ ॥੫॥
ਸੂਖ ਦੂਖ ਇਸੁ ਮਨ ਕੀ ਬਿਰਥਾ ਤੁਮ ਹੀ ਆਗੈ ਸਾਰਨਾ ॥੬॥
sookh dookh is man kee birathaa tum hee aagai saaranaa |6|
Pleasure and pain, and the condition of this mind, I place before You, Lord. ||6||
ਇਸ ਮਨ ਦੀ ਸੁਖਾਂ ਦੀ ਮੰਗ ਅਤੇ ਦੁੱਖਾਂ ਵਲੋਂ ਪੁਕਾਰ ਤੇਰੇ ਅੱਗੇ ਹੀ ਕੀਤੀ ਜਾ ਸਕਦੀ ਹੈ ॥੬॥
ਤੂ ਦਾਤਾ ਸਭਨਾ ਜੀਆ ਕਾ ਆਪਨ ਕੀਆ ਪਾਲਨਾ ॥੭॥
too daataa sabhanaa jeea kaa aapan keea paalanaa |7|
You are the Giver of all beings You cherish what You have made. ||7||
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਤੂੰ ਸਾਰੇ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਹੀ ਦਾਤਾਂ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈਂ, ਆਪਣੇ ਪੈਦਾ ਕੀਤੇ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਤੂੰ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਪਾਲਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈਂ ॥੭॥
ਅਨਿਕ ਬਾਰ ਕੋਟਿ ਜਨ ਊਪਰਿ ਨਾਨਕੁ ਵੰਞੈ ਵਾਰਨਾ ॥੮॥੫॥
anik baar kott jan aoopar naanak vanyai vaaranaa |8|5|
So many millions of times, Nanak is a sacrifice to Your humble servants. ||8||5||
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! (ਤੇਰਾ ਦਾਸ) ਨਾਨਕ ਤੇਰੇ ਭਗਤਾਂ (ਦੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ) ਤੋਂ ਅਨੇਕਾਂ ਵਾਰੀ ਕ੍ਰੋੜਾਂ ਵਾਰੀ ਸਦਕੇ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੮॥੫॥

ਰਾਗ ਰਾਮਕਲੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਗੁਰੂ ਅਰਜਨਦੇਵ ਜੀ ਦੀ ਅੱਠ-ਬੰਦਾਂ ਵਾਲੀ ਬਾਣੀ।
ੴ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ॥

One Universal Creator God. By The Grace Of The True Guru:
ਅਕਾਲ ਪੁਰਖ ਇੱਕ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਨਾਲ ਮਿਲਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਦਰਸਨੁ ਭੇਟਤ ਪਾਪ ਸਭਿ ਨਾਸਹਿ ਹਰਿ ਸਿਉ ਦੇਇ ਮਿਲਾਈ ॥੧॥
darasan bhettat paap sabh naaseh har siau dee milaaee |1|
Receiving the Blessed Vision of His Darshan, all sins are erased, and He unites me with the Lord. ||1||
ਗੁਰੂ ਦਾ ਦਰਸ਼ਨ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਹੁੰਦਿਆਂ ਸਾਰੇ ਪਾਪ ਨਾਸ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ, (ਗੁਰੂ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੂੰ) ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨਾਲ ਜੋੜ ਦੇਂਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੧॥
ਮੇਰਾ ਗੁਰੁ ਪਰਮੇਸਰੁ ਸੁਖਦਾਈ ॥
meraa gur paramesar sukhadaaee |
My Guru is the Transcendent Lord, the Giver of peace.
ਮੇਰਾ ਗੁਰੂ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ਰ (ਦਾ ਰੂਪ) ਹੈ, ਸਾਰੇ ਸੁਖ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ।
ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਕਾ ਨਾਮੁ ਦ੍ਰਿੜਾਏ ਅੰਤੇ ਹੋਇ ਸਖਾਈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
paarabraham kaa naam drirraae ante hoe sakhaaee |1| rahaau |
He implants the Naam, the Name of the Supreme Lord God within us in the end, He is our help and support. ||1||Pause||
ਗੁਰੂ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ (ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ) ਪੱਕਾ ਕਰ ਦੇਂਦਾ ਹੈ (ਤੇ ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ) ਅਖ਼ੀਰ ਵੇਲੇ ਭੀ (ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦਾ) ਮਿੱਤਰ ਬਣਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ਸਗਲ ਦੂਖ ਕਾ ਡੇਰਾ ਭੰਨਾ ਸੰਤ ਧੂਰਿ ਮੁਖਿ ਲਾਈ ॥੨॥
sagal dookh kaa dderaa bhanaa sant dhoor mukh laaee |2|
The source of all pain within is destroyed I apply the dust of the feet of the Saints to my forehead. ||2||
(ਜਿਹੜਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ) ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਧੂੜ (ਆਪਣੇ) ਮੱਥੇ ਉਤੇ ਲਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ (ਉਸ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰੋਂ) ਸਾਰੇ ਦੁੱਖਾਂ ਦਾ ਅੱਡਾ ਹੀ ਮੁੱਕ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੨॥
ਪਤਿਤ ਪੁਨੀਤ ਕੀਏ ਖਿਨ ਭੀਤਰਿ ਅਗਿਆਨੁ ਅੰਧੇਰੁ ਵੰਞਾਈ ॥੩॥
patit puneet kee khin bheetar agiaan andher vanyaaee |3|
In an instant, He purifies the sinners, and dispels the darkness of ignorance. ||3||
(ਗੁਰੂ ਨੇ) ਅਨੇਕਾਂ ਵਿਕਾਰੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਇਕ ਖਿਨ ਵਿਚ ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ, (ਗੁਰੂ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰੋਂ) ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਵਲੋਂ ਬੇ-ਸਮਝੀ (ਦਾ) ਹਨੇਰਾ ਦੂਰ ਕਰ ਦੇਂਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੩॥
ਕਰਣ ਕਾਰਣ ਸਮਰਥੁ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਨਾਨਕ ਤਿਸੁ ਸਰਣਾਈ ॥੪॥
karan kaaran samarath suaamee naanak tis saranaaee |4|
The Lord is all-powerful, the Cause of causes. Nanak seeks His Sanctuary. ||4||
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਮਾਲਕ-ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਸਾਰੇ ਜਗਤ ਦਾ ਮੂਲ ਹੈ ਤੇ ਸਭ ਤਾਕਤਾਂ ਦਾ ਮਾਲਕ ਹੈ (ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਹੀ) ਉਸ ਦੀ ਸਰਨ ਪਿਆ ਜਾ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੪॥
ਬੰਧਨ ਤੋੜਿ ਚਰਨ ਕਮਲ ਦ੍ਰਿੜਾਏ ਏਕ ਸਬਦਿ ਲਿਵ ਲਾਈ ॥੫॥
bandhan torr charan kamal drirraae ek sabad liv laaee |5|
Shattering the bonds, the Guru implants the Lord's lotus feet within, and lovingly attunes us to the One Word of the Shabad. ||5||
(ਗੁਰੂ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੇ ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ) ਬੰਧਨ ਤੋੜ ਕੇ (ਉਸ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰ) ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਸੋਹਣੇ ਚਰਨ ਪੱਕੇ ਟਿਕਾ ਦੇਂਦਾ ਹੈ, (ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਨਾਲ ਉਹ ਮਨੁੱਖ) ਗੁਰ-ਸ਼ਬਦ ਦੀ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਇਕ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਵਿਚ ਹੀ ਸੁਰਤ ਜੋੜੀ ਰੱਖਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੫॥
ਅੰਧ ਕੂਪ ਬਿਖਿਆ ਤੇ ਕਾਢਿਓ ਸਾਚ ਸਬਦਿ ਬਣਿ ਆਈ ॥੬॥
andh koop bikhiaa te kaadtio saach sabad ban aaee |6|
He has lifted me up, and pulled me out of the deep, dark pit of sin I am attuned to the True Shabad. ||6||
(ਗੁਰੂ ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੂੰ) ਮਾਇਆ (ਦੇ ਮੋਹ) ਦੇ ਅੰਨ੍ਹੇ ਖੂਹ ਵਿਚੋਂ ਕੱਢ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਸਦਾ-ਥਿਰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਦੀ ਬਾਣੀ ਵਿਚ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਪ੍ਰੀਤ ਬਣ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ ॥੬॥
ਜਨਮ ਮਰਣ ਕਾ ਸਹਸਾ ਚੂਕਾ ਬਾਹੁੜਿ ਕਤਹੁ ਨ ਧਾਈ ॥੭॥
janam maran kaa sahasaa chookaa baahurr katahu na dhaaee |7|
The fear of birth and death is taken away I shall never wander again. ||7||
(ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਨਾਲ ਉਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦਾ) ਜਨਮ ਮਰਨ ਦੇ ਗੇੜ ਦਾ ਸਹਿਮ ਮੁੱਕ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਫਿਰ ਹੋਰ ਕਿਤੇ (ਕਿਸੇ ਜੂਨ ਵਿਚ) ਨਹੀਂ ਭਟਕਦਾ ਫਿਰਦਾ ॥੭॥
ਨਾਮ ਰਸਾਇਣਿ ਇਹੁ ਮਨੁ ਰਾਤਾ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤੁ ਪੀ ਤ੍ਰਿਪਤਾਈ ॥੮॥
naam rasaaein ihu man raataa amrit pee tripataaee |8|
This mind is imbued with the sublime elixir of the Naam drinking in the Ambrosial Nectar, it is satisfied. ||8||
(ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਮਿਹਰ ਨਾਲ ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦਾ) ਇਹ ਮਨ ਸਭ ਰਸਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਸ੍ਰੇਸ਼ਟ ਨਾਮ-ਰਸ ਵਿਚ ਰੰਗਿਆ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਨਾਮ-ਰਸ ਪੀ ਕੇ (ਮਾਇਆ ਦੀ ਤ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨਾ ਵਲੋਂ) ਰੱਜ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੮॥
ਸੰਤਸੰਗਿ ਮਿਲਿ ਕੀਰਤਨੁ ਗਾਇਆ ਨਿਹਚਲ ਵਸਿਆ ਜਾਈ ॥੯॥
santasang mil keeratan gaaeaa nihachal vasiaa jaaee |9|
Joining the Society of the Saints, I sing the Kirtan of the Lord's Praises I dwell in the eternal, unchanging place. ||9||
ਗੁਰੂ-ਸੰਤ ਦੀ ਸੰਗਤ ਵਿਚ ਮਿਲ ਕੇ ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਦਾ ਗੀਤ ਗਾਣਾ ਸ਼ੁਰੂ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ, ਉਹ ਕਦੇ ਨਾਹ ਡੋਲਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਆਤਮਕ ਟਿਕਾਣੇ ਵਿਚ ਟਿਕ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੯॥
ਪੂਰੈ ਗੁਰਿ ਪੂਰੀ ਮਤਿ ਦੀਨੀ ਹਰਿ ਬਿਨੁ ਆਨ ਨ ਭਾਈ ॥੧੦॥
poorai gur pooree mat deenee har bin aan na bhaaee |10|
The Perfect Guru has given me the perfect teachings there is nothing except the Lord, O Siblings of Destiny. ||10||
(ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੂੰ) ਪੂਰੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਨੇ (ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਬਾਰੇ) ਪੂਰੀ ਸਮਝ ਬਖ਼ਸ਼ ਦਿੱਤੀ, ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ ਕੋਈ ਹੋਰ (ਦੁਨੀਆਵੀ ਚੀਜ਼) ਪਿਆਰੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਲੱਗਦੀ ॥੧੦॥
ਨਾਮੁ ਨਿਧਾਨੁ ਪਾਇਆ ਵਡਭਾਗੀ ਨਾਨਕ ਨਰਕਿ ਨ ਜਾਈ ॥੧੧॥
naam nidhaan paaeaa vaddabhaagee naanak narak na jaaee |11|
I have obtained the treasure of the Naam, by great good fortune O Nanak, I shall not fall into hell. ||11||
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਜਿਸ ਭਾਗਾਂ ਵਾਲੇ ਨੇ (ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸਰਨ ਪੈ ਕੇ) ਨਾਮ-ਖ਼ਜ਼ਾਨਾ ਲੱਭ ਲਿਆ, ਉਹ (ਦੁਨੀਆ ਦੇ ਦੁੱਖਾਂ ਦੇ) ਨਰਕ ਵਿਚ ਨਹੀਂ ਪੈਂਦਾ ॥੧੧॥
ਘਾਲ ਸਿਆਣਪ ਉਕਤਿ ਨ ਮੇਰੀ ਪੂਰੈ ਗੁਰੂ ਕਮਾਈ ॥੧੨॥
ghaal siaanap ukat na meree poorai guroo kamaaee |12|
Clever tricks have not worked for me I shall act according to the Instructions of the Perfect Guru. ||12||
ਤਪ ਆਦਿਕਾਂ ਦੀ ਕਿਸੇ ਮਿਹਨਤ, ਵਿੱਦਿਆ ਆਦਿਕ ਦੀ ਕਿਸੇ ਚਤੁਰਾਈ, ਕਿਸੇ ਸ਼ਾਸਤ੍ਰਾਰਥ ਦੀ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਟੇਕ-ਓਟ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ। ਇਹ ਤਾਂ ਪੂਰੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਬਖ਼ਸ਼ਸ਼ ਹੈ (ਕਿ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਦੀ ਦਾਤ ਬਖ਼ਸ਼ੀ ਹੈ) ॥੧੨॥
ਜਪ ਤਪ ਸੰਜਮ ਸੁਚਿ ਹੈ ਸੋਈ ਆਪੇ ਕਰੇ ਕਰਾਈ ॥੧੩॥
jap tap sanjam such hai soee aape kare karaaee |13|
He is chanting, intense meditation, austere self-discipline and purification. He Himself acts, and causes us to act. ||13||
ਪੂਰੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸਰਨ ਪੈਣਾ ਹੀ ਮੇਰੇ ਵਾਸਤੇ ਜਪ ਤਪ ਸੰਜਮ ਅਤੇ ਸਰੀਰਕ ਪਵਿੱਤ੍ਰਤਾ ਦਾ ਸਾਧਨ ਹੈ। (ਪੂਰਾ ਗੁਰੂ) ਆਪ ਹੀ (ਮੇਰੇ ਉਤੇ ਮਿਹਰ) ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ (ਤੇ ਮੈਥੋਂ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਸੇਵਾ ਭਗਤੀ) ਕਰਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੧੩॥
ਪੁਤ੍ਰ ਕਲਤ੍ਰ ਮਹਾ ਬਿਖਿਆ ਮਹਿ ਗੁਰਿ ਸਾਚੈ ਲਾਇ ਤਰਾਈ ॥੧੪॥
putr kalatr mahaa bikhiaa meh gur saachai laae taraaee |14|
In the midst of children and spouse, and utter corruption, the True Guru has carried me across. ||14||
(ਜਿਹੜਾ ਭੀ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸਰਨ ਪਿਆ) ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਇਸਤ੍ਰੀ ਤੇ ਬਲ ਵਾਲੀ ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਮੋਹ ਵਿਚੋਂ ਗੁਰੂ ਨੇ ਸਦਾ-ਥਿਰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ (ਦੇ ਨਾਮ) ਵਿਚ ਜੋੜ ਕੇ ਪਾਰ ਲੰਘਾ ਲਿਆ ॥੧੪॥
