ਤੰਤੁ ਮੰਤੁ ਨਹ ਜੋਹਈ ਤਿਤੁ ਚਾਖੁ ਨ ਲਾਗੈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
tant mant neh johee tith chaakh na laagai |1| rahaau |
He is not affected by charms and spells, nor is he harmed by the evil eye. ||1||Pause||
ਕੋਈ ਜਾਦੂ ਟੁਣਾ ਉਸ ਉਤੇ ਅਸਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰ ਸਕਦਾ, ਕੋਈ ਭੈੜੀ ਨਜ਼ਰ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਨਹੀਂ ਲੱਗ ਸਕਦੀ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ਕਾਮ ਕ੍ਰੋਧ ਮਦ ਮਾਨ ਮੋਹ ਬਿਨਸੇ ਅਨਰਾਗੈ ॥
kaam krodh mad maan moh binase anaraagai |
Sexual desire, anger, the intoxication of egotism and emotional attachment are dispelled, by loving devotion.
(ਉਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰੋਂ) ਕਾਮ, ਕ੍ਰੋਧ, ਅਹੰਕਾਰ ਦੀ ਮਸਤੀ, ਮੋਹ, ਹੋਰ ਹੋਰ ਪਦਾਰਥਾਂ ਦੇ ਚਸਕੇ ਸਭ ਨਾਸ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ।
ਆਨੰਦ ਮਗਨ ਰਸਿ ਰਾਮ ਰੰਗਿ ਨਾਨਕ ਸਰਨਾਗੈ ॥੨॥੪॥੬੮॥
aanand magan ras raam rang naanak saranaagai |2|4|68|
One who enters the Lord's Sanctuary, O Nanak, remains merged in ecstasy in the subtle essence of the Lord's Love. ||2||4||68||
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਜੇਹੜਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਦੇ ਰਸ ਵਿਚ ਟਿਕਿਆ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਵਿਚ ਮਸਤ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਸਰਨ ਪਿਆ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਸਦਾ ਆਤਮਕ ਆਨੰਦ ਵਿਚ ਮਸਤ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੨॥੪॥੬੮॥

ਜੀਅ ਜੁਗਤਿ ਵਸਿ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਕੈ ਜੋ ਕਹੈ ਸੁ ਕਰਨਾ ॥
jeea jugat vas prabhoo kai jo kahai su karanaa |
The living creatures and their ways are in God's power. Whatever He says, they do.
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਅਸਾਂ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਦੀ ਜੀਵਨ-ਜੁਗਤਿ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਵੱਸ ਵਿਚ ਹੈ, ਜੋ ਕੁਝ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਸਤੇ ਉਹ ਸਾਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰੇਰਨਾ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ ਉਹੀ ਅਸੀਂ ਕਰ ਸਕਦੇ ਹਾਂ।
ਭਏ ਪ੍ਰਸੰਨ ਗੋਪਾਲ ਰਾਇ ਭਉ ਕਿਛੁ ਨਹੀ ਕਰਨਾ ॥੧॥
bhe prasan gopaal raae bhau kichh nahee karanaa |1|
When the Sovereign Lord of the Universe is pleased, there is nothing at all to fear. ||1||
ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਉਤੇ ਜਗਤ-ਪਾਲ ਪਾਤਿਸ਼ਾਹ ਦਇਆਵਾਨ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਕੋਈ ਡਰ ਕਰਨ ਦੀ ਲੋੜ ਨਹੀਂ ਰਹਿੰਦੀ ॥੧॥
ਦੂਖੁ ਨ ਲਾਗੈ ਕਦੇ ਤੁਧੁ ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮੁ ਚਿਤਾਰੇ ॥
dookh na laagai kade tudh paarabraham chitaare |
Pain shall never afflict you, if you remember the Supreme Lord God.
ਹੇ ਪਿਆਰੇ ਗੁਰਸਿੱਖ! ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਚਿੱਤ ਵਿਚ ਵਸਾਈ ਰੱਖ, ਤੈਨੂੰ ਕਦੇ ਭੀ ਕੋਈ ਦੁੱਖ ਪੋਹ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਕੇਗਾ,
ਜਮਕੰਕਰੁ ਨੇੜਿ ਨ ਆਵਈ ਗੁਰਸਿਖ ਪਿਆਰੇ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
jamakankar nerr na aavee gurasikh piaare |1| rahaau |
The Messenger of Death does not even approach the beloved Sikhs of the Guru. ||1||Pause||
(ਦੁੱਖ ਤਾਂ ਕਿਤੇ ਰਹੇ) ਜਮਦੂਤ (ਭੀ) ਤੇਰੇ ਨੇੜੇ ਨਹੀਂ ਆਵੇਗਾ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ਕਰਣ ਕਾਰਣ ਸਮਰਥੁ ਹੈ ਤਿਸੁ ਬਿਨੁ ਨਹੀ ਹੋਰੁ ॥
karan kaaran samarath hai tis bin nahee hor |
The All-powerful Lord is the Cause of causes there is no other than Him.
ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਹੀ ਜਗਤ ਦੀ ਰਚਨਾ ਕਰਨ ਦੀ ਤਾਕਤ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ ਕੋਈ ਹੋਰ (ਇਹੋ ਜਿਹੀ ਸਮਰਥਾ ਵਾਲਾ) ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ।
ਨਾਨਕ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਸਰਣਾਗਤੀ ਸਾਚਾ ਮਨਿ ਜੋਰੁ ॥੨॥੫॥੬੯॥
naanak prabh saranaagatee saachaa man jor |2|5|69|
Nanak has entered the Sanctuary of God the True Lord has given strength to the mind. ||2||5||69||
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਅਸੀਂ ਜੀਵ ਉਸ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਸਰਨ ਵਿਚ ਹੀ ਰਹਿ ਸਕਦੇ ਹਾਂ, (ਸਾਡੇ) ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਉਸੇ ਦਾ ਹੀ ਸਦਾ ਕਾਇਮ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਆਸਰਾ ਹੈ ॥੨॥੫॥੬੯॥

ਸਿਮਰਿ ਸਿਮਰਿ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਆਪਨਾ ਨਾਠਾ ਦੁਖ ਠਾਉ ॥
simar simar prabh aapanaa naatthaa dukh tthaau |
Remembering, remembering my God in meditation, the house of pain is removed.
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਵਿਚ ਮਿਲ ਕੇ ਮੈਂ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਨਿਵਾਸ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕਰ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ (ਇਸ ਵਾਸਤੇ) ਉਸ (ਸਾਧ ਸੰਗਤਿ) ਤੋਂ ਕਦੇ ਪਰੇ ਨਹੀਂ ਭੱਜਦਾ।
ਬਿਸ੍ਰਾਮ ਪਾਏ ਮਿਲਿ ਸਾਧਸੰਗਿ ਤਾ ਤੇ ਬਹੁੜਿ ਨ ਧਾਉ ॥੧॥
bisraam paae mil saadhasang taa te bahurr na dhaau |1|
Joining the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy, I have found peace and tranquility I shall not wander away from there again. ||1||
(ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਦੀ ਬਰਕਤਿ ਨਾਲ) ਮੈਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਹਰ ਵੇਲੇ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਕਰ ਕੇ (ਅਜੇਹੀ ਅਵਸਥਾ ਤੇ ਪਹੁੰਚ ਗਿਆ ਹਾਂ ਕਿ ਮੇਰੇ ਅੰਦਰੋਂ) ਦੁੱਖਾਂ ਦਾ ਟਿਕਾਣਾ ਹੀ ਦੂਰ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ ॥੧॥
ਬਲਿਹਾਰੀ ਗੁਰ ਆਪਨੇ ਚਰਨਨੑ ਬਲਿ ਜਾਉ ॥
balihaaree gur aapane charanana bal jaau |
I am devoted to my Guru I am a sacrifice to His Feet.
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਮੈਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਤੋਂ ਕੁਰਬਾਨ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹਾਂ, ਮੈਂ (ਆਪਣੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ) ਚਰਨਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਸਦਕੇ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹਾਂ।
ਅਨਦ ਸੂਖ ਮੰਗਲ ਬਨੇ ਪੇਖਤ ਗੁਨ ਗਾਉ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
anad sookh mangal bane pekhat gun gaau |1| rahaau |
I am blessed with ecstasy, peace and happiness, gazing upon the Guru, and singing the Lord's Glorious Praises. ||1||Pause||
ਗੁਰੂ ਦਾ ਦਰਸਨ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਮੈਂ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤਿ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਦੇ ਗੀਤ ਗਾਂਦਾ ਹਾਂ, ਤੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਸਾਰੇ ਆਨੰਦ, ਸਾਰੇ ਸੁਖ ਸਾਰੇ ਚਾਉ-ਹੁਲਾਰੇ ਬਣੇ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ਕਥਾ ਕੀਰਤਨੁ ਰਾਗ ਨਾਦ ਧੁਨਿ ਇਹੁ ਬਨਿਓ ਸੁਆਉ ॥
kathaa keeratan raag naad dhun ihu banio suaau |
This is my life's purpose, to sing the Kirtan of the Lord's Praises, and listen to the vibrations of the sound current of the Naad.
(ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਨਾਲ) ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀਆਂ ਕਥਾ-ਕਹਾਣੀਆਂ, ਕੀਰਤਨ, ਸਿਫ਼ਤਿ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਦੀ ਲਗਨ-ਇਹੀ ਮੇਰੀ ਜ਼ਿੰਦਗੀ ਦਾ ਨਿਸ਼ਾਨਾ ਬਣ ਗਏ ਹਨ।
ਨਾਨਕ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਸੁਪ੍ਰਸੰਨ ਭਏ ਬਾਂਛਤ ਫਲ ਪਾਉ ॥੨॥੬॥੭੦॥
naanak prabh suprasan bhe baanchhat fal paau |2|6|70|
O Nanak, God is totally pleased with me I have obtained the fruits of my desires. ||2||6||70||
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! (ਆਖ-) ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਮੇਹਰ ਨਾਲ) ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਜੀ (ਮੇਰੇ ਉਤੇ) ਬਹੁਤ ਖ਼ੁਸ਼ ਹੋ ਗਏ ਹਨ, ਮੈਂ ਹੁਣ ਮਨ-ਮੰਗਿਆ ਫਲ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕਰ ਰਿਹਾ ਹਾਂ ॥੨॥੬॥੭੦॥

This is the prayer of Your slave: please enlighten my heart.
(ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ!) ਤੇਰੇ ਦਾਸ ਦੀ (ਤੇਰੇ ਦਰ ਤੇ) ਅਰਜ਼ੋਈ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਮੇਰੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ (ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਦਾ) ਚਾਨਣ ਕਰ
ਤੁਮੑਰੀ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾ ਤੇ ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਦੋਖਨ ਕੋ ਨਾਸੁ ॥੧॥
tumaree kripaa te paarabraham dokhan ko naas |1|
By Your Mercy, O Supreme Lord God, please erase my sins. ||1||
(ਤਾਂ ਕਿ) ਹੇ ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮ! ਤੇਰੀ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਨਾਲ (ਮੇਰੇ ਅੰਦਰੋਂ) ਵਿਕਾਰਾਂ ਦਾ ਨਾਸ ਹੋ ਜਾਏ ॥੧॥
ਚਰਨ ਕਮਲ ਕਾ ਆਸਰਾ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਪੁਰਖ ਗੁਣਤਾਸੁ ॥
charan kamal kaa aasaraa prabh purakh gunataas |
I take the Support of Your Lotus Feet, O God, Primal Lord, treasure of virtue.
ਹੇ ਸਰਬ-ਵਿਆਪਕ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਤੂੰ (ਹੀ) ਸਾਰੇ ਗੁਣਾਂ ਦਾ ਖ਼ਜ਼ਾਨਾ ਹੈਂ। ਮੈਨੂੰ (ਤੇਰੇ) ਹੀ ਸੋਹਣੇ ਚਰਣਾਂ ਦਾ ਆਸਰਾ ਹੈ।
ਕੀਰਤਨ ਨਾਮੁ ਸਿਮਰਤ ਰਹਉ ਜਬ ਲਗੁ ਘਟਿ ਸਾਸੁ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
keeratan naam simarat rhau jab lag ghatt saas |1| rahaau |
I shall meditate in remembrance on the Praises of the Naam, the Name of the Lord, as long as there is breath in my body. ||1||Pause||
(ਮੇਰੇ ਉਤੇ ਮੇਹਰ ਕਰ) ਜਦ ਤਕ (ਮੇਰੇ) ਸਰੀਰ ਵਿਚ ਸਾਹ (ਚੱਲ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ), ਮੈਂ ਤੇਰਾ ਨਾਮ ਸਿਮਰਦਾ ਰਹਾਂ, ਤੇਰੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤਿ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਕਰਦਾ ਰਹਾਂ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ਮਾਤ ਪਿਤਾ ਬੰਧਪ ਤੂਹੈ ਤੂ ਸਰਬ ਨਿਵਾਸੁ ॥
maat pitaa bandhap toohai too sarab nivaas |
You are my mother, father and relative You are abiding within all.
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਤੂੰ ਹੀ ਮੇਰੀ ਮਾਂ ਹੈਂ, ਤੂੰ ਹੀ ਮੇਰਾ ਪਿਉ ਹੈਂ, ਤੂੰ ਹੀ ਮੇਰਾ ਸਾਕ-ਸੈਣ ਹੈਂ, ਤੂੰ ਸਾਰੇ ਹੀ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਵੱਸਦਾ ਹੈਂ।
ਨਾਨਕ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਸਰਣਾਗਤੀ ਜਾ ਕੋ ਨਿਰਮਲ ਜਾਸੁ ॥੨॥੭॥੭੧॥
naanak prabh saranaagatee jaa ko niramal jaas |2|7|71|
Nanak seeks the Sanctuary of God His Praise is immaculate and pure. ||2||7||71||
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਜਿਸ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤਿ-ਸਾਲਾਹ (ਜੀਵਨ) ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਕਰ ਦੇਂਦੀ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਦੀ ਸਰਨ ਪਏ ਰਹਿਣਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੨॥੭॥੭੧॥

ਸਰਬ ਸਿਧਿ ਹਰਿ ਗਾਈਐ ਸਭਿ ਭਲਾ ਮਨਾਵਹਿ ॥
sarab sidh har gaaeeai sabh bhalaa manaaveh |
All perfect spiritual powers are obtained, when one sings the Lord's Praises everyone wishes him well.
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਸਿੱਧੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਮਾਲਕ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤਿ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਕਰਦੇ ਰਹਿਣਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ, (ਜੇਹੜਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਸਿਫ਼ਤਿ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ) ਸਾਰੇ ਲੋਕ (ਉਸ ਦੀ) ਸੁਖ ਮੰਗਦੇ ਹਨ।
ਸਾਧੁ ਸਾਧੁ ਮੁਖ ਤੇ ਕਹਹਿ ਸੁਣਿ ਦਾਸ ਮਿਲਾਵਹਿ ॥੧॥
saadh saadh mukh te kaheh sun daas milaaveh |1|
Everyone calls him holy and spiritual hearing of him, the Lord's slaves come to meet him. ||1||
ਮੂੰਹੋਂ (ਸਾਰੇ ਲੋਕ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ) ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਆਖਦੇ ਹਨ, (ਉਸ ਦੇ ਬਚਨ) ਸੁਣ ਕੇ ਸੇਵਕ-ਭਾਵ ਨਾਲ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਚਰਨੀਂ ਲੱਗਦੇ ਹਨ ॥੧॥
ਸੂਖ ਸਹਜ ਕਲਿਆਣ ਰਸ ਪੂਰੈ ਗੁਰਿ ਕੀਨੑ ॥
sookh sehaj kaliaan ras poorai gur keena |
The Perfect Guru blesses him with peace, poise, salvation and happiness.
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਪੂਰੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਨੇ ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੂੰ ਆਤਮਕ ਅਡੋਲਤਾ ਦੇ ਸੁਖ ਆਨੰਦ ਰਸ ਬਖ਼ਸ਼ ਦਿੱਤੇ,
ਜੀਅ ਸਗਲ ਦਇਆਲ ਭਏ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਚੀਨੑ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
jeea sagal deaal bhe har har naam cheena |1| rahaau |
All living beings become compassionate to him he remembers the Name of the Lord, Har, Har. ||1||Pause||
ਉਹ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਸਦਾ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਨਾਲ ਸਾਂਝ ਪਾਈ ਰੱਖਦਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ (ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨੂੰ ਸਰਬ-ਵਿਆਪਕ ਜਾਣਦਾ ਹੋਇਆ) ਸਾਰੇ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਉਤੇ ਦਇਆਵਾਨ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ਪੂਰਿ ਰਹਿਓ ਸਰਬਤ੍ਰ ਮਹਿ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਗੁਣੀ ਗਹੀਰ ॥
poor rahio sarabatr meh prabh gunee gaheer |
He is permeating and pervading everywhere God is the ocean of virtue.
(ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਨਿਸ਼ਚਾ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ) ਕਿ ਸਾਰੇ ਗੁਣਾਂ ਦਾ ਮਾਲਕ ਅਥਾਹ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਸਾਰੇ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਵੱਸਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਨਾਨਕ ਭਗਤ ਆਨੰਦ ਮੈ ਪੇਖਿ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕੀ ਧੀਰ ॥੨॥੮॥੭੨॥
naanak bhagat aanand mai pekh prabh kee dheer |2|8|72|
O Nanak, the devotees are in bliss, gazing upon God's abiding stability. ||2||8||72||
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! (ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤਿ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ) ਭਗਤ ਜਨ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਆਸਰਾ ਤੱਕ ਕੇ ਸਦਾ ਆਨੰਦ-ਭਰਪੂਰ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ ॥੨॥੮॥੭੨॥

aradaas sunee daataar prabh hoe kirapaal |
God, the Great Giver, has become merciful He has listened to my prayer.
ਹੇ ਮਿੱਤਰ! ਜਿਸ ਸੇਵਕ ਦੀ ਅਰਦਾਸ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੇ ਸੁਣ ਲਈ, ਜਿਸ ਸੇਵਕ ਉੱਤੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਜੀ ਦਇਆਵਾਨ ਹੋ ਗਏ,
ਰਾਖਿ ਲੀਆ ਅਪਨਾ ਸੇਵਕੋ ਮੁਖਿ ਨਿੰਦਕ ਛਾਰੁ ॥੧॥
raakh leea apanaa sevako mukh nindak chhaar |1|
He has saved His servant, and put ashes into the mouth of the slanderer. ||1||
ਆਪਣੇ ਉਸ ਸੇਵਕ ਦੀ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੇ (ਸਦਾ) ਰੱਖਿਆ ਕੀਤੀ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਸੇਵਕ ਦੇ ਦੋਖੀ-ਨਿੰਦਕ ਦੇ ਮੂੰਹ ਉਤੇ ਸੁਆਹ ਹੀ ਪਈ ਹੈ (ਨਿੰਦਕ ਨੂੰ ਸਦਾ ਫਿਟਕਾਰ ਹੀ ਪਈ ਹੈ) ॥੧॥
ਤੁਝਹਿ ਨ ਜੋਹੈ ਕੋ ਮੀਤ ਜਨ ਤੂੰ ਗੁਰ ਕਾ ਦਾਸ ॥
tujheh na johai ko meet jan toon gur kaa daas |
No one can threaten you now, O my humble friend, for you are the slave of the Guru.
ਹੇ ਮਿੱਤਰ! ਹੇ ਸੱਜਣ! (ਜੇ) ਤੂੰ ਗੁਰੂ ਦਾ ਸੇਵਕ (ਬਣਿਆ ਰਹੇਂ,
ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮਿ ਤੂ ਰਾਖਿਆ ਦੇ ਅਪਨੇ ਹਾਥ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥

The Supreme Lord God reached out with His Hand and saved you. ||1||Pause||
ਤਾਂ ਨਿਸ਼ਚਾ ਰੱਖ ਕਿ) ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਹੱਥ ਦੇ ਕੇ ਤੇਰੀ ਸਦਾ ਰੱਖਿਆ ਕਰਨੀ ਹੈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ਜੀਅਨ ਕਾ ਦਾਤਾ ਏਕੁ ਹੈ ਬੀਆ ਨਹੀ ਹੋਰੁ ॥
jeean kaa daataa ek hai beea nahee hor |
The One Lord is the Giver of all beings there is no other at all.
ਹੇ ਮਿੱਤਰ! ਸਾਰੇ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਦਾਤਾਂ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਸਿਰਫ਼ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਹੀ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ ਕੋਈ ਹੋਰ ਦੂਜਾ (ਦਾਤਾਂ ਦੇਣ ਜੋਗਾ) ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ (ਉਸ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਹੀ ਸਰਨ ਪਿਆ ਰਹੁ)।
ਨਾਨਕ ਕੀ ਬੇਨੰਤੀਆ ਮੈ ਤੇਰਾ ਜੋਰੁ ॥੨॥੯॥੭੩॥

The Lord of the Universe has saved my friends and companions.
ਹੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਮਿੱਤਰੋ! ਹੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਸੱਜਣੋ! (ਯਕੀਨ ਰੱਖੋ ਕਿ) ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ (ਆਪਣੇ ਸੇਵਕਾਂ ਦੀ ਜ਼ਰੂਰ) ਰੱਖਿਆ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਨਿੰਦਕ ਮਿਰਤਕ ਹੋਇ ਗਏ ਤੁਮੑ ਹੋਹੁ ਨਿਚਿੰਦ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
nindak miratak hoe ge tuma hohu nichind |1| rahaau |
The slanderers have died, so do not worry. ||1||Pause||
(ਸੇਵਕਾਂ ਦੀ) ਨਿੰਦਾ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ (ਆਪ ਹੀ) ਆਤਮਕ ਮੌਤੇ ਮਰ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ। (ਇਸ ਵਾਸਤੇ ਤੁਸੀ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਆਸਰਾ-ਪਰਨਾ ਲਈ ਰੱਖੋ, ਤੇ ਨਿੰਦਕਾਂ ਵਲੋਂ) ਬੇ-ਫ਼ਿਕਰ ਰਹੋ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ਸਗਲ ਮਨੋਰਥ ਪ੍ਰਭਿ ਕੀਏ ਭੇਟੇ ਗੁਰਦੇਵ ॥
sagal manorath prabh kee bhette guradev |
God has fulfilled all hopes and desires I have met the Divine Guru.
ਹੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਮਿੱਤਰੋ! ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ (ਭਾਗਾਂ ਨਾਲ) ਗੁਰੂ ਮਿਲ ਪਿਆ, ਉਸ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੇ (ਸਦਾ ਹੀ ਉਸ ਸੇਵਕ ਦੇ) ਸਾਰੇ ਮਨੋਰਥ ਪੂਰੇ ਕੀਤੇ ਹਨ।
