In a jatha you will often be the accompanist, not the lead singer. Accompanying well is an art and a seva in itself.

- ਗਾਇਕ ਦਾ ਸਾ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਪੁੱਛ ਲਓ ਅਤੇ ਡਰੋਨ ਸਟਾਪ ਉਸੇ ਉੱਤੇ ਖੋਲ੍ਹੋ।

- ਜਦੋਂ ਗਾਇਕ ਆਲਾਪ ਜਾਂ ਸਜਾਵਟ ਕਰੇ, ਤੁਸੀਂ ਲੰਮੀ ਸੁਰ ਜਾਂ ਸਾ ਉੱਤੇ ਟਿਕੇ ਰਹੋ।
- Ask the singer's Sa first and open the drone stop on it.
- With a new shabad, the first time press only Sa and Pa and listen; play along once you know the tune.
- Never run ahead of the singer; move with them or slightly behind.
- When the singer does alaap or ornaments, stay on a long note or on Sa.

- ਸ਼ੁਰੂ ਤੋਂ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਤਾਲ ਅਤੇ ਲੈਅ ਮਿਥ ਲਓ।

ਜੇ ਜਥੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਦੋ ਹਾਰਮੋਨੀਅਮ ਹਨ, ਤਾਂ ਦੂਜਾ ਵਾਜਾ ਨੀਵੀਂ ਆਵਾਜ਼ ਵਿੱਚ, ਅਕਸਰ ਮੰਦਰ ਸਪਤਕ ਵਿੱਚ ਜਾਂ ਸਿਰਫ਼ ਸਾ-ਪਾ ਨਾਲ ਸਾਥ ਦਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਦੋ ਵਾਜੇ ਇਕੱਠੇ ਸਜਾਵਟਾਂ ਕਰਨ ਤਾਂ ਆਵਾਜ਼ ਗੜਬੜ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ।
If the jatha has two harmoniums, the second plays softly, often in the lower octave or only with Sa and Pa. If both play ornaments at once, the sound becomes muddled.
