ਰਾਗ ਮਾਰੂ, ਘਰ ੫ ਵਿੱਚ ਗੁਰੂ ਨਾਨਕਦੇਵ ਜੀ ਦੀ ਬਾਣੀ।
ੴ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ॥

One Universal Creator God. By The Grace Of The True Guru:
ਅਕਾਲ ਪੁਰਖ ਇੱਕ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਨਾਲ ਮਿਲਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਅਹਿਨਿਸਿ ਜਾਗੈ ਨੀਦ ਨ ਸੋਵੈ ॥
ahinis jaagai need na sovai |
Day and night, he remains awake and aware he never sleeps or dreams.
(ਨਾਮ-ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਦਾ ਵਪਾਰੀ ਜੀਵ) ਦਿਨ ਰਾਤਿ ਸੁਚੇਤ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਉਹ ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਮੋਹ ਦੀ ਨੀਂਦ ਵਿਚ ਸੌਂਦਾ ਨਹੀਂ।
ਸੋ ਜਾਣੈ ਜਿਸੁ ਵੇਦਨ ਹੋਵੈ ॥
so jaanai jis vedan hovai |
He alone knows this, who feels the pain of separation from God.
ਨਾਮ-ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਦੀ ਕਦਰ ਜਾਣਦਾ ਭੀ ਉਹੀ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਹੈ ਜਿਸ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨਾਲੋਂ ਵਿਛੋੜੇ ਦੇ ਅਹਿਸਾਸ ਦੀ ਤੜਫ ਹੋਵੇ।
ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਕੇ ਕਾਨ ਲਗੇ ਤਨ ਭੀਤਰਿ ਵੈਦੁ ਕਿ ਜਾਣੈ ਕਾਰੀ ਜੀਉ ॥੧॥
prem ke kaan lage tan bheetar vaid ki jaanai kaaree jeeo |1|
My body is pierced through with the arrow of love. How can any physician know the cure? ||1||
ਜਿਸ ਦੇ ਸਰੀਰ ਵਿਚ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ-ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਦੇ ਤੀਰ ਲੱਗੇ ਹੋਣ। ਸਰੀਰਕ ਰੋਗਾਂ ਦਾ ਇਲਾਜ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਬੰਦਾ ਬਿਰਹੋਂ-ਰੋਗ ਦਾ ਇਲਾਜ ਕਰਨਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾਣਦਾ ॥੧॥
ਜਿਸ ਨੋ ਸਾਚਾ ਸਿਫਤੀ ਲਾਏ ॥

Rare is that one, who as Gurmukh,
ਸਦਾ ਕਾਇਮ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਆਪਣੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਵਿਚ ਜੋੜਦਾ ਹੈ,
ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਵਿਰਲੇ ਕਿਸੈ ਬੁਝਾਏ ॥

Understands, and whom the True Lord links to His Praise.
ਅਤੇ ਜਿਸ ਕਿਸੇ ਵਿਰਲੇ ਬੰਦੇ ਨੂੰ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਆਪਣੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਦੀ ਕਦਰ ਸਮਝਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ,
ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਕੀ ਸਾਰ ਸੋਈ ਜਾਣੈ ਜਿ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਕਾ ਵਾਪਾਰੀ ਜੀਉ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
amrit kee saar soee jaanai ji amrit kaa vaapaaree jeeo |1| rahaau |
He alone appreciates the value of the Ambsosial Nectar, who deals in this Ambrosia. ||1||Pause||
ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਦੀ ਕਦਰ ਉਹੀ ਬੰਦਾ ਜਾਣਦਾ ਹੈ ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਉਹ ਇਸ ਨਾਮ-ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਦਾ ਵਪਾਰੀ ਬਣ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ਪਿਰ ਸੇਤੀ ਧਨ ਪ੍ਰੇਮੁ ਰਚਾਏ ॥

The soul-bride is in love with her Husband Lord
ਜਿਵੇਂ ਇਸਤ੍ਰੀ (ਆਪਣਾ ਆਪਾ ਵਾਰ ਕੇ) ਆਪਣੇ ਪਤੀ ਨਾਲ ਪਿਆਰ ਕਰਦੀ ਹੈ,
ਗੁਰ ਕੈ ਸਬਦਿ ਤਥਾ ਚਿਤੁ ਲਾਏ ॥
gur kai sabad tathaa chit laae |
She focuses her consciousness on the Word of the Guru's Shabad.
ਤਿਵੇਂ ਜੇਹੜੀ ਜੀਵ-ਇਸਤ੍ਰੀ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਵਿਚ ਚਿੱਤ ਜੋੜਦੀ ਹੈ,
ਸਹਜ ਸੇਤੀ ਧਨ ਖਰੀ ਸੁਹੇਲੀ ਤ੍ਰਿਸਨਾ ਤਿਖਾ ਨਿਵਾਰੀ ਜੀਉ ॥੨॥
sehaj setee dhan kharee suhelee trisanaa tikhaa nivaaree jeeo |2|
The soul-bride is joyously embellished with intuitive ease her hunger and thirst are taken away. ||2||
ਉਹ ਜੀਵ-ਇਸਤ੍ਰੀ ਆਤਮਕ ਅਡੋਲਤਾ ਵਿਚ ਟਿਕ ਕੇ ਬਹੁਤ ਸੁਖੀ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ, ਉਹ (ਆਪਣੇ ਅੰਦਰੋਂ) ਮਾਇਆ ਦੀ ਤ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨਾ ਮਾਇਆ ਦੀ ਪਿਆਸ ਦੂਰ ਕਰ ਲੈਂਦੀ ਹੈ ॥੨॥
ਸਹਸਾ ਤੋੜੇ ਭਰਮੁ ਚੁਕਾਏ ॥

Tear down skepticism and dispel your doubt
ਜੇਹੜੀ ਜੀਵ-ਇਸਤ੍ਰੀ ਸਹਿਮ-ਤੌਖ਼ਲਾ ਮੁਕਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ ਮਾਇਆ ਵਾਲੀ ਭਟਕਣਾ ਖ਼ਤਮ ਕਰਦੀ ਹੈ,
ਸਹਜੇ ਸਿਫਤੀ ਧਣਖੁ ਚੜਾਏ ॥
sahaje sifatee dhanakh charraae |
with your intuition, draw the bow of the Praise of the Lord.
ਅਡੋਲਤਾ ਵਿਚ ਟਿਕ ਕੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਦਾ ਧਣਖ (ਬਾਣ) ਕਸਦੀ ਹੈ,
ਗੁਰ ਕੈ ਸਬਦਿ ਮਰੈ ਮਨੁ ਮਾਰੇ ਸੁੰਦਰਿ ਜੋਗਾਧਾਰੀ ਜੀਉ ॥੩॥
gur kai sabad marai man maare sundar jogaadhaaree jeeo |3|
Through the Word of the Guru's Shabad, conquer and subdue your mind take the support of Yoga - Union with the beautiful Lord. ||3||
ਉਹ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਵਿਚ ਜੁੜ ਕੇ (ਆਪਾ-ਭਾਵ ਵਲੋਂ) ਮਰਦੀ ਹੈ ਆਪਣੇ ਮਨ ਨੂੰ ਵੱਸ ਵਿਚ ਰੱਖਦੀ ਹੈ ਉਹ ਸੁੰਦਰ ਜੀਵ-ਇਸਤ੍ਰੀ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ-ਮਿਲਾਪ ਦੇ ਆਸਰੇ ਵਾਲੀ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ (ਭਾਵ, ਪ੍ਰਭੂ-ਚਰਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਮਿਲਾਪ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਜੀਵਨ ਦਾ ਆਸਰਾ ਬਣ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ) ॥੩॥
ਹਉਮੈ ਜਲਿਆ ਮਨਹੁ ਵਿਸਾਰੇ ॥
haumai jaliaa manahu visaare |
Burnt by egotism, one forgets the Lord from his mind.
ਜੇਹੜਾ ਜੀਵ ਹਉਮੈ ਵਿਚ ਸੜਿਆ ਰਹਿ ਕੇ (ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਦੇ ਅੰਕੁਰ ਨੂੰ ਸਾੜ ਕੇ) ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਮਨ ਤੋਂ ਭੁਲਾ ਦੇਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਜਮ ਪੁਰਿ ਵਜਹਿ ਖੜਗ ਕਰਾਰੇ ॥
jam pur vajeh kharrag karaare |
In the City of Death, he is attacked with massive swords.
ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਜਮ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਵਿਚ ਕਰੜੇ ਖੰਡੇ ਵੱਜਦੇ ਹਨ (ਭਾਵ, ਇਤਨੇ ਆਤਮਕ ਕਲੇਸ਼ ਹੁੰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਮਾਨੋ, ਖੰਡਿਆਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਤਕੜੀਆਂ ਚੋਟਾਂ ਵੱਜ ਰਹੀਆਂ ਹਨ)।
ਅਬ ਕੈ ਕਹਿਐ ਨਾਮੁ ਨ ਮਿਲਈ ਤੂ ਸਹੁ ਜੀਅੜੇ ਭਾਰੀ ਜੀਉ ॥੪॥
ab kai kahiai naam na milee too sahu jeearre bhaaree jeeo |4|
Then, even if he asks for it, he will not receive the Lord's Name O soul, you shall suffer terrible punishment. ||4||
ਉਸ ਵੇਲੇ (ਜਦੋਂ ਮਾਰ ਪੈ ਰਹੀ ਹੁੰਦੀ ਹੈ) ਤਰਲੇ ਲਿਆਂ ਨਾਮ (ਸਿਮਰਨ ਦਾ ਮੌਕਾ) ਨਹੀਂ ਮਿਲਦਾ। (ਹੇ ਜੀਵ! ਜੇ ਤੂੰ ਸਾਰੀ ਉਮਰ ਇਤਨਾ ਗ਼ਾਫ਼ਿਲ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈਂ ਤਾਂ) ਉਹ ਭਾਰਾ ਦੁੱਖ ਪਿਆ ਸਹਾਰ (ਉਸ ਭਾਰੇ ਕਸ਼ਟ ਵਿਚੋਂ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਕੋਈ ਕੱਢ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਕਦਾ) ॥੪॥
ਮਾਇਆ ਮਮਤਾ ਪਵਹਿ ਖਿਆਲੀ ॥
maaeaa mamataa paveh khiaalee |
You are distracted by thoughts of Maya and worldly attachment.
ਹੇ ਜੀਵ! ਜੇ ਤੂੰ ਹੁਣ ਮਾਇਆ ਦੀ ਮਮਤਾ ਦੇ ਖ਼ਿਆਲਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਹੀ ਪਿਆ ਰਹੇਂਗਾ (ਜੇ ਤੂੰ ਸਾਰੀ ਉਮਰ ਮਾਇਆ ਜੋੜਨ ਦੇ ਆਹਰਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਹੀ ਰਹੇਂਗਾ, ਤਾਂ ਆਖ਼ਰ)
ਜਮ ਪੁਰਿ ਫਾਸਹਿਗਾ ਜਮ ਜਾਲੀ ॥
jam pur faasahigaa jam jaalee |
In the City of Death, you will be caught by the noose of the Messenger of Death.
ਜਮ ਦੀ ਨਗਰੀ ਵਿਚ ਜਮ ਦੇ ਜਾਲ ਵਿਚ ਫਸੇਂਗਾ।
ਹੇਤ ਕੇ ਬੰਧਨ ਤੋੜਿ ਨ ਸਾਕਹਿ ਤਾ ਜਮੁ ਕਰੇ ਖੁਆਰੀ ਜੀਉ ॥੫॥
het ke bandhan torr na saakeh taa jam kare khuaaree jeeo |5|
You cannot break free from the bondage of loving attachment, and so the Messenger of Death will torture you. ||5||
(ਉਸ ਵੇਲੇ) ਤੂੰ ਮੋਹ ਦੇ ਬੰਧਨ ਤੋੜ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਕੇਂਗਾ, (ਤਾਹੀਏਂ) ਤਦੋਂ ਜਮਰਾਜ ਤੇਰੀ ਬੇ-ਇੱਜ਼ਤੀ ਕਰੇਗਾ ॥੫॥
ਨਾ ਹਉ ਕਰਤਾ ਨਾ ਮੈ ਕੀਆ ॥
naa hau karataa naa mai keea |
I have done nothing I am doing nothing now.
(ਪਰ, ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਤੇਰੀ ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਟਾਕਰੇ ਤੇ ਮੈਂ ਕੀਹ ਵਿਚਾਰਾ ਹਾਂ? ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਬੰਧਨਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਬਚਣ ਲਈ) ਨਾਹ ਹੀ ਮੈਂ ਹੁਣ ਕੁਝ ਕਰ ਰਿਹਾ ਹਾਂ, ਨਾਹ ਹੀ ਇਸ ਤੋਂ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਕੁਝ ਕਰ ਸਕਿਆ ਹਾਂ।
ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤੁ ਨਾਮੁ ਸਤਿਗੁਰਿ ਦੀਆ ॥

The True Guru has blessed me with the Ambrosial Nectar of the Naam.
ਮੈਨੂੰ ਤਾਂ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਨੇ (ਮੇਹਰ ਕਰ ਕੇ) ਤੇਰਾ ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਨਾਮ ਬਖ਼ਸ਼ਿਆ ਹੈ।
ਜਿਸੁ ਤੂ ਦੇਹਿ ਤਿਸੈ ਕਿਆ ਚਾਰਾ ਨਾਨਕ ਸਰਣਿ ਤੁਮਾਰੀ ਜੀਉ ॥੬॥੧॥੧੨॥
jis too dehi tisai kiaa chaaraa naanak saran tumaaree jeeo |6|1|12|
What other efforts can anyone make, when You bestow Your blessing? Nanak seeks Your Sanctuary. ||6||1||12||
ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਤੂੰ (ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਆਪਣਾ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ-ਨਾਮ) ਦੇਂਦਾ ਹੈਂ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਕੋਈ ਹੋਰ ਤਦਬੀਰ ਕਰਨ ਦੀ ਲੋੜ ਹੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਰਹਿ ਜਾਂਦੀ। ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! (ਪ੍ਰਭੂ-ਦਰ ਤੇ ਅਰਦਾਸ ਕਰ ਕਿ) ਮੈਂ ਤੇਰੀ ਸਰਨ ਆਇਆ ਹਾਂ ॥੬॥੧॥੧੨॥

ਰਾਗ ਮਾਰੂ, ਘਰ ੧ ਵਿੱਚ ਗੁਰੂ ਅਮਰਦਾਸ ਜੀ ਦੀ ਬਾਣੀ।
ੴ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ॥

ਜਹ ਬੈਸਾਲਹਿ ਤਹ ਬੈਸਾ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਜਹ ਭੇਜਹਿ ਤਹ ਜਾਵਾ ॥
jeh baisaaleh teh baisaa suaamee jeh bhejeh teh jaavaa |
Wherever You seat me, there I sit, O my Lord and Master wherever You send me, there I go.
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! (ਜਦੋਂ ਮੈਂ ਆਤਮਕ ਅਡੋਲਤਾ ਵਿਚ ਲੀਨ ਰਹਾਂਗਾ, ਤਾਂ) ਜਿੱਥੇ ਤੂੰ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਬਿਠਾਏਂਗਾ ਮੈਂ ਉਥੇ ਬੈਠਾ ਰਹਾਂਗਾ, ਜਿਥੇ ਤੂੰ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਭੇਜੇਂਗਾ ਮੈਂ ਉਥੇ ਜਾਵਾਂਗਾ (ਭਾਵ, ਮੈਂ ਹਰ ਵੇਲੇ ਤੇਰੀ ਰਜ਼ਾ ਵਿਚ ਰਹਾਂਗਾ)।
ਸਭ ਨਗਰੀ ਮਹਿ ਏਕੋ ਰਾਜਾ ਸਭੇ ਪਵਿਤੁ ਹਹਿ ਥਾਵਾ ॥੧॥
sabh nagaree meh eko raajaa sabhe pavit heh thaavaa |1|
In the entire village, there is only One King all places are sacred. ||1||
ਹੇ ਸੁਆਮੀ! ਸਾਰੀ ਸ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਟੀ ਵਿਚ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਤੂੰ ਹੀ ਇਕ ਪਾਤਿਸ਼ਾਹ (ਦਿੱਸੇਂਗਾ, ਤੇਰੀ ਵਿਆਪਕਤਾ ਦੇ ਕਾਰਨ ਧਰਤੀ ਦੇ) ਸਾਰੇ ਹੀ ਥਾਂ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਜਾਪਣਗੇ ॥੧॥
ਬਾਬਾ ਦੇਹਿ ਵਸਾ ਸਚ ਗਾਵਾ ॥
baabaa dehi vasaa sach gaavaa |
O Baba, while I dwell in this body, let me sing Your True Praises,
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਤੂੰ (ਮੈਨੂੰ ਇਹ ਦਾਨ) ਦੇਹ ਕਿ ਮੈਂ ਤੇਰੀ ਸਾਧ ਸੰਗਤ ਵਿਚ ਟਿਕਿਆ ਰਹਾਂ,
ਜਾ ਤੇ ਸਹਜੇ ਸਹਜਿ ਸਮਾਵਾ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
jaa te sahaje sehaj samaavaa |1| rahaau |
that I may intuitively merge with You. ||1||Pause||
ਜਿਸ ਦੀ ਬਰਕਤਿ ਨਾਲ ਮੈਂ ਸਦਾ ਆਤਮਕ ਅਡੋਲਤਾ ਵਿਚ ਲੀਨ ਰਹਾਂ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ਬੁਰਾ ਭਲਾ ਕਿਛੁ ਆਪਸ ਤੇ ਜਾਨਿਆ ਏਈ ਸਗਲ ਵਿਕਾਰਾ ॥
buraa bhalaa kichh aapas te jaaniaa eee sagal vikaaraa |
He thinks that good and bad deeds come from himself this is the source of all evil.
ਹਉਮੈ ਦੇ ਕਾਰਨ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਕਿਸੇ ਨੂੰ ਭੈੜਾ ਤੇ ਕਿਸੇ ਨੂੰ ਚੰਗਾ ਸਮਝਦਾ ਹੈ, ਇਹ ਹਉਮੈ ਹੀ ਸਾਰੇ ਵਿਕਾਰਾਂ ਦਾ ਮੂਲ ਬਣਦੀ ਹੈ।
ਇਹੁ ਫੁਰਮਾਇਆ ਖਸਮ ਕਾ ਹੋਆ ਵਰਤੈ ਇਹੁ ਸੰਸਾਰਾ ॥੨॥
eihu furamaaeaa khasam kaa hoaa varatai ihu sansaaraa |2|
Whatever happens in this world is only by the Order of our Lord and Master. ||2||
(ਸਾਧ ਸੰਗਤ ਦੀ ਬਰਕਤਿ ਨਾਲ ਆਤਮਕ ਅਡੋਲਤਾ ਵਿਚ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਨੂੰ ਦਿੱਸਦਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ) ਇਹ ਭੀ ਖਸਮ-ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਹੁਕਮ ਹੀ ਹੋ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ, ਇਹ ਹੁਕਮ ਹੀ ਸਾਰੇ ਜਗਤ ਵਿਚ ਵਰਤ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ ॥੨॥
ਇੰਦ੍ਰੀ ਧਾਤੁ ਸਬਲ ਕਹੀਅਤ ਹੈ ਇੰਦ੍ਰੀ ਕਿਸ ਤੇ ਹੋਈ ॥
eindree dhaat sabal kaheeat hai indree kis te hoee |

(ਸਾਰੀ ਸ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਟੀ ਵਿਚ) ਇਹ ਗੱਲ ਆਖੀ ਜਾ ਰਹੀ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਇੰਦ੍ਰਿਆਂ ਦੀ ਦੌੜ-ਭੱਜ ਬੜੀ ਬਲ ਵਾਲੀ ਹੈ ਪਰ (ਕਾਮ-ਵਾਸਨਾ ਆਦਿਕ ਵਾਲੀ) ਇੰਦ੍ਰੀ ਭੀ (ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ) ਕਿਸੇ ਹੋਰ ਤੋਂ ਨਹੀਂ ਬਣੀ।
ਆਪੇ ਖੇਲ ਕਰੈ ਸਭਿ ਕਰਤਾ ਐਸਾ ਬੂਝੈ ਕੋਈ ॥੩॥
aape khel karai sabh karataa aisaa boojhai koee |3|
The Creator Himself stages all the plays how rare are those who realize this. ||3||
(ਸਾਧ ਸੰਗਤ ਦੀ ਬਰਕਤਿ ਨਾਲ ਸਹਿਜ ਅਵਸਥਾ ਵਿਚ ਟਿਕਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ) ਕੋਈ ਵਿਰਲਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਇਉਂ ਸਮਝਦਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਸਾਰੇ ਕੌਤਕ ਕਰਤਾਰ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਕਰ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ ॥੩॥
ਗੁਰ ਪਰਸਾਦੀ ਏਕ ਲਿਵ ਲਾਗੀ ਦੁਬਿਧਾ ਤਦੇ ਬਿਨਾਸੀ ॥
gur parasaadee ek liv laagee dubidhaa tade binaasee |
By Guru's Grace, one is lovingly focused on the One Lord, and then, duality is ended.
(ਸਾਧ ਸੰਗਤ ਵਿਚ ਰਹਿ ਕੇ ਜਦੋਂ) ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਨਾਲ ਇਕ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਪਿਆਰ (ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ) ਬਣ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਤਦੋਂ (ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰੋਂ) ਮੇਰ-ਤੇਰ ਦੂਰ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ।
ਜੋ ਤਿਸੁ ਭਾਣਾ ਸੋ ਸਤਿ ਕਰਿ ਮਾਨਿਆ ਕਾਟੀ ਜਮ ਕੀ ਫਾਸੀ ॥੪॥
jo tis bhaanaa so sat kar maaniaa kaattee jam kee faasee |4|
Whatever is in harmony with His Will, he accepts as True the noose of Death is loosened from around his neck. ||4||
ਜੋ ਕੁਝ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨੂੰ ਚੰਗਾ ਲੱਗਦਾ ਹੈ ਉਹ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਠੀਕ ਮੰਨਦਾ ਹੈ, ਤੇ, ਉਸ ਦੀ ਆਤਮਕ ਮੌਤ ਵਾਲੀ ਫਾਹੀ ਕੱਟੀ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ ॥੪॥
ਭਣਤਿ ਨਾਨਕੁ ਲੇਖਾ ਮਾਗੈ ਕਵਨਾ ਜਾ ਚੂਕਾ ਮਨਿ ਅਭਿਮਾਨਾ ॥
bhanat naanak lekhaa maagai kavanaa jaa chookaa man abhimaanaa |
Prays Nanak, who can call him to account, when the egotistical pride of his mind has been silenced?
ਨਾਨਕ ਆਖਦਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ (ਸਾਧ ਸੰਗਤ ਦੀ ਬਰਕਤਿ ਨਾਲ) ਜਦੋਂ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੇ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ (ਵੱਸਦਾ) ਅਹੰਕਾਰ ਮੁੱਕ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਤਾਂ ਕੋਈ ਭੀ (ਉਸ ਪਾਸੋਂ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਮਾੜੇ ਕਰਮਾਂ ਦਾ) ਲੇਖਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਮੰਗ ਸਕਦਾ (ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਕੋਈ ਭੈੜ ਰਹਿ ਹੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾਂਦੇ)।
ਤਾਸੁ ਤਾਸੁ ਧਰਮ ਰਾਇ ਜਪਤੁ ਹੈ ਪਏ ਸਚੇ ਕੀ ਸਰਨਾ ॥੫॥੧॥
taas taas dharam raae japat hai pe sache kee saranaa |5|1|
Even the Righteous Judge of Dharma is intimidated and afraid of him he has entered the Sanctuary of the True Lord. ||5||1||
(ਸਾਧ ਸੰਗਤ ਵਿਚ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਬੰਦੇ) ਉਸ ਸਦਾ-ਥਿਰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਸਰਨ ਪਏ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ ਜਿਸ ਦੀ ਹਜ਼ੂਰੀ ਵਿਚ ਧਰਮਰਾਜ ਭੀ ਆਖਦਾ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ-ਮੈਂ ਤੇਰੀ ਸਰਨ ਹਾਂ, ਮੈਂ ਤੇਰੀ ਸਰਨ ਹਾਂ ॥੫॥੧॥

ਆਵਣ ਜਾਣਾ ਨਾ ਥੀਐ ਨਿਜ ਘਰਿ ਵਾਸਾ ਹੋਇ ॥
aavan jaanaa naa theeai nij ghar vaasaa hoe |
Coming and going in reincarnation no longer exist, when one dwells in the home of the self within.
(ਸਿਮਰਨ ਦਾ ਸਦਕਾ) ਜਨਮ ਮਰਨ (ਦਾ ਗੇੜ) ਨਹੀਂ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ, ਆਪਣੇ ਅਸਲ ਘਰ ਵਿਚ (ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਹਜ਼ੂਰੀ ਵਿਚ) ਸੁਰਤ ਟਿਕੀ ਰਹਿੰਦੀ ਹੈ।
ਸਚੁ ਖਜਾਨਾ ਬਖਸਿਆ ਆਪੇ ਜਾਣੈ ਸੋਇ ॥੧॥
sach khajaanaa bakhasiaa aape jaanai soe |1|
He bestowed the Blessing of His treasure of truth only He Himself knows. ||1||
ਪਰ ਸਦਾ-ਥਿਰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਇਹ ਨਾਮ-ਖ਼ਜ਼ਾਨਾ (ਉਸ ਨੇ ਆਪ ਹੀ) ਬਖ਼ਸ਼ਿਆ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਜਾਣਦਾ ਹੈ (ਕਿ ਕੌਣ ਇਸ ਦਾਤ ਦੇ ਯੋਗ ਹੈ) ॥੧॥
