ਰਾਗ ਰਾਮਕਲੀ, ਘਰ ੨ ਵਿੱਚ ਗੁਰੂ ਅਰਜਨਦੇਵ ਜੀ ਦੀ ਦੋ-ਬੰਦਾਂ ਵਾਲੀ ਬਾਣੀ।

One Universal Creator God. By The Grace Of The True Guru:
ਅਕਾਲ ਪੁਰਖ ਇੱਕ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਨਾਲ ਮਿਲਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਗਾਵਹੁ ਰਾਮ ਕੇ ਗੁਣ ਗੀਤ ॥

Sing the songs of Praise of the Lord.
ਹੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਮਿੱਤਰ! ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਗੁਣਾਂ ਦੇ ਗੀਤ (ਸਦਾ) ਗਾਂਦਾ ਰਹੁ।
ਨਾਮੁ ਜਪਤ ਪਰਮ ਸੁਖੁ ਪਾਈਐ ਆਵਾ ਗਉਣੁ ਮਿਟੈ ਮੇਰੇ ਮੀਤ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥

Chanting the Naam, the Name of the Lord, total peace is obtained coming and going is ended, my friend. ||1||Pause||
ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਜਪਦਿਆਂ ਸਭ ਤੋਂ ਸ੍ਰੇਸ਼ਟ ਸੁਖ ਹਾਸਲ ਕਰ ਲਈਦਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਜਨਮ ਮਰਨ ਦਾ ਗੇੜ ਮੁੱਕ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ਗੁਣ ਗਾਵਤ ਹੋਵਤ ਪਰਗਾਸੁ ॥

Singing the Glorious Praises of the Lord, one is enlightened,
ਹੇ ਮਿੱਤਰ! ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਂਦਿਆਂ (ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਸਹੀ ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਦਾ) ਚਾਨਣ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ,
ਚਰਨ ਕਮਲ ਮਹਿ ਹੋਇ ਨਿਵਾਸੁ ॥੧॥

and comes to dwell in His lotus feet. ||1||
ਅਤੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਸੋਹਣੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਮਨ ਟਿਕਿਆ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੧॥
ਸੰਤਸੰਗਤਿ ਮਹਿ ਹੋਇ ਉਧਾਰੁ ॥
santasangat meh hoe udhaar |
In the Society of the Saints, one is saved.
ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸੰਗਤ ਵਿਚ ਰਿਹਾਂ ਤੇਰਾ ਪਾਰ-ਉਤਾਰਾ ਹੋ ਜਾਇਗਾ,
ਨਾਨਕ ਭਵਜਲੁ ਉਤਰਸਿ ਪਾਰਿ ॥੨॥੧॥੫੭॥

O Nanak, he crosses over the terrifying world-ocean. ||2||1||57||

ਗੁਰੁ ਪੂਰਾ ਮੇਰਾ ਗੁਰੁ ਪੂਰਾ ॥

My Guru is perfect, my Guru is perfect.
ਮੇਰਾ ਗੁਰੂ ਸਭ ਗੁਣਾਂ ਦਾ ਮਾਲਕ ਹੈ, ਮੇਰਾ ਗੁਰੂ ਪੂਰੀ ਸਮਰਥਾ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ।
ਰਾਮ ਨਾਮੁ ਜਪਿ ਸਦਾ ਸੁਹੇਲੇ ਸਗਲ ਬਿਨਾਸੇ ਰੋਗ ਕੂਰਾ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
raam naam jap sadaa suhele sagal binaase rog kooraa |1| rahaau |
Chanting the Lord's Name, I am always at peace all my illness and fraud is dispelled. ||1||Pause||
(ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸਰਨ ਪੈ ਕੇ) ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਜਪ ਕੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਸਦਾ ਸੁਖੀ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਮੋਹ ਤੋਂ ਪੈਦਾ ਹੋਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਰੋਗ ਦੂਰ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ਏਕੁ ਅਰਾਧਹੁ ਸਾਚਾ ਸੋਇ ॥

Worship and adore that One Lord alone.
(ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਦਰ ਤੇ ਆ ਕੇ) ਸਦਾ ਕਾਇਮ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਉਸ ਇੱਕ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਆਰਾਧਨ ਕਰਿਆ ਕਰੋ,
ਜਾ ਕੀ ਸਰਨਿ ਸਦਾ ਸੁਖੁ ਹੋਇ ॥੧॥
jaa kee saran sadaa sukh hoe |1|
In His Sanctuary, eternal peace is obtained. ||1||
ਜਿਸ ਦੀ ਸਰਨ ਪਿਆਂ ਸਦਾ ਆਤਮਕ ਆਨੰਦ ਮਿਲਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੧॥
ਨੀਦ ਸੁਹੇਲੀ ਨਾਮ ਕੀ ਲਾਗੀ ਭੂਖ ॥
need suhelee naam kee laagee bhookh |
One who feels hunger for the Naam sleeps in peace.
(ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸਰਨ ਪਿਆਂ) ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਦੀ ਲਗਨ ਪੈਦਾ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ, ਤੇ, ਨਾਮ ਵਿਚ ਲੀਨਤਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਵਾਸਤੇ ਸੁਖਦਾਈ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ।
ਹਰਿ ਸਿਮਰਤ ਬਿਨਸੇ ਸਭ ਦੂਖ ॥੨॥
har simarat binase sabh dookh |2|
Meditating in remembrance on the Lord, all pains are dispelled. ||2||
ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਸਿਮਰਦਿਆਂ ਸਾਰੇ ਦੁੱਖਾਂ ਦਾ ਨਾਸ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੨॥
ਸਹਜਿ ਅਨੰਦ ਕਰਹੁ ਮੇਰੇ ਭਾਈ ॥
sehaj anand karahu mere bhaaee |
Enjoy celestial bliss, O my Siblings of Destiny.
ਹੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਭਾਈ! ਆਤਮਕ ਅਡੋਲਤਾ ਵਿਚ ਟਿਕ ਕੇ ਆਤਮਕ ਖ਼ੁਸ਼ੀਆਂ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕਰੋ।
ਗੁਰਿ ਪੂਰੈ ਸਭ ਚਿੰਤ ਮਿਟਾਈ ॥੩॥

The Perfect Guru has eradicated all anxiety. ||3||
(ਜਿਹੜਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸਰਨ ਪੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ) ਪੂਰਾ ਗੁਰੂ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਸਾਰੀ ਚਿੰਤਾ ਮਿਟਾ ਦੇਂਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੩॥
ਆਠ ਪਹਰ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕਾ ਜਪੁ ਜਾਪਿ ॥
aatth pehar prabh kaa jap jaap |
Twenty-four hours a day, chant God's Chant.
(ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸਰਨ ਪੈ ਕੇ) ਅੱਠੇ ਪਹਿਰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਦਾ ਜਾਪ ਕਰਿਆ ਕਰ।
ਨਾਨਕ ਰਾਖਾ ਹੋਆ ਆਪਿ ॥੪॥੨॥੫੮॥

O Nanak, He Himself shall save you. ||4||2||58||
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! (ਜਿਹੜਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਜਪਦਾ ਹੈ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ) ਆਪ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਰਖਵਾਲਾ ਬਣਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੪॥੨॥੫੮॥

ਨਰਨਰਹ ਨਮਸਕਾਰੰ ॥

I humbly bow to the Lord, the Supreme Being.
ਸਦਾ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨੂੰ ਨਮਸਕਾਰ ਕਰਦੇ ਰਹੋ।
ਜਲਨ ਥਲਨ ਬਸੁਧ ਗਗਨ ਏਕ ਏਕੰਕਾਰੰ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
jalan thalan basudh gagan ek ekankaaran |1| rahaau |
The One, the One and Only Creator Lord permeates the water, the land, the earth and the sky. ||1||Pause||
ਉਹ ਇੱਕ ਸਰਬ-ਵਿਆਪਕ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਜਲਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਮੌਜੂਦ ਹੈ, ਥਲਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਹੈ, ਧਰਤੀ ਵਿਚ ਹੈ, ਤੇ ਆਕਾਸ਼ ਵਿਚ ਹੈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ਹਰਨ ਧਰਨ ਪੁਨ ਪੁਨਹ ਕਰਨ ॥

Over and over again, the Creator Lord destroys, sustains and creates.
ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਸਭ ਦਾ ਨਾਸ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹੀ ਸਭ ਦਾ ਪਾਲਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹੀ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਮੁੜ ਮੁੜ ਪੈਦਾ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ।
ਨਹ ਗਿਰਹ ਨਿਰੰਹਾਰੰ ॥੧॥

He has no home He needs no nourishment. ||1||
ਉਸ ਦਾ ਕੋਈ ਖ਼ਾਸ ਘਰ ਨਹੀਂ, ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਕਿਸੇ ਖ਼ੁਰਾਕ ਦੀ ਲੋੜ ਨਹੀਂ ॥੧॥
ਗੰਭੀਰ ਧੀਰ ਨਾਮ ਹੀਰ ਊਚ ਮੂਚ ਅਪਾਰੰ ॥

The Naam, the Name of the Lord, is deep and profound, strong, poised, lofty, exalted and infinite.
ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ (ਮਾਨੋ) ਡੂੰਘਾ (ਸਮੁੰਦਰ) ਹੈ, ਵੱਡੇ ਜਿਗਰੇ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਬਹੁ-ਮੁੱਲਾ ਹੈ। ਉਹ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਸਭ ਤੋਂ ਉੱਚਾ ਹੈ, ਸਭ ਤੋਂ ਵੱਡਾ ਹੈ, ਬੇਅੰਤ ਹੈ।
ਕਰਨ ਕੇਲ ਗੁਣ ਅਮੋਲ ਨਾਨਕ ਬਲਿਹਾਰੰ ॥੨॥੧॥੫੯॥
karan kel gun amol naanak balihaaran |2|1|59|
He stages His plays His Virtues are priceless. Nanak is a sacrifice to Him. ||2||1||59||
ਉਹ ਸਭ ਕੌਤਕ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ, ਅਮੁੱਲ ਗੁਣਾਂ ਦਾ ਮਾਲਕ ਹੈ। ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਉਸ ਤੋਂ ਕੁਰਬਾਨ ਜਾਣਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੨॥੧॥੫੯॥

ਰੂਪ ਰੰਗ ਸੁਗੰਧ ਭੋਗ ਤਿਆਗਿ ਚਲੇ ਮਾਇਆ ਛਲੇ ਕਨਿਕ ਕਾਮਿਨੀ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
roop rang sugandh bhog tiaag chale maaeaa chhale kanik kaaminee |1| rahaau |
You must abandon your beauty, pleasures, fragrances and enjoyments beguiled by gold and sexual desire, you must still leave Maya behind. ||1||Pause||
ਸੋਨਾ, ਇਸਤ੍ਰੀ ਆਦਿਕ ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਠੱਗੇ ਹੋਏ ਜੀਵ (ਆਖ਼ਰ ਦੁਨੀਆ ਦੇ ਸਾਰੇ) ਸੋਹਣੇ ਰੂਪ ਰੰਗ ਸੁਗੰਧੀਆਂ ਤੇ ਭੋਗ-ਪਦਾਰਥ ਛੱਡ ਕੇ (ਇਥੋਂ) ਤੁਰ ਪੈਂਦੇ ਹਨ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ਭੰਡਾਰ ਦਰਬ ਅਰਬ ਖਰਬ ਪੇਖਿ ਲੀਲਾ ਮਨੁ ਸਧਾਰੈ ॥
bhanddaar darab arab kharab pekh leelaa man sadhaarai |
You gaze upon billions and trillions of treasures and riches, which delight and comfort your mind,
ਬੇਅੰਤ ਧਨ ਦੇ ਖ਼ਜ਼ਾਨਿਆਂ ਦੀ ਮੌਜ ਵੇਖ ਵੇਖ ਕੇ (ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦਾ) ਮਨ (ਆਪਣੇ ਅੰਦਰ) ਢਾਰਸ ਬਣਾਂਦਾ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ,
ਨਹ ਸੰਗਿ ਗਾਮਨੀ ॥੧॥

but these will not go along with you. ||1||
(ਪਰ ਇਹਨਾਂ ਵਿਚੋਂ ਕੋਈ ਚੀਜ਼ ਇਸ ਦੇ) ਨਾਲ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾਂਦੀ ॥੧॥
ਸੁਤ ਕਲਤ੍ਰ ਭ੍ਰਾਤ ਮੀਤ ਉਰਝਿ ਪਰਿਓ ਭਰਮਿ ਮੋਹਿਓ ਇਹ ਬਿਰਖ ਛਾਮਨੀ ॥
sut kalatr bhraat meet urajh pario bharam mohio ih birakh chhaamanee |
Entangled with children, spouse, siblings and friends, you are enticed and fooled these pass like the shadow of a tree.
ਪੁੱਤਰ, ਇਸਤ੍ਰੀ, ਭਰਾ, ਮਿੱਤਰ (ਆਦਿਕ ਦੇ ਮੋਹ) ਵਿਚ ਜੀਵ ਫਸਿਆ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਭੁਲੇਖੇ ਦੇ ਕਾਰਨ ਮੋਹ ਵਿਚ ਠੱਗਿਆ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ-ਪਰ ਇਹ ਸਭ ਕੁਝ ਰੁੱਖ ਦੀ ਛਾਂ (ਵਾਂਗ) ਹੈ।
ਚਰਨ ਕਮਲ ਸਰਨ ਨਾਨਕ ਸੁਖੁ ਸੰਤ ਭਾਵਨੀ ॥੨॥੨॥੬੦॥

Nanak seeks the Sanctuary of His lotus feet He has found peace in the faith of the Saints. ||2||2||60||
(ਇਸ ਵਾਸਤੇ) ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਸੋਹਣੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਸਰਨ ਦਾ ਸੁਖ ਹੀ ਸੰਤ ਜਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਚੰਗਾ ਲੱਗਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੨॥੨॥੬੦॥

ਰਾਗ ਰਾਮਕਲੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਗੁਰੂ ਤੇਗਬਹਾਦਰ ਜੀ ਦੀ ਤਿਨ-ਬੰਦਾਂ ਵਾਲੀ ਬਾਣੀ।
ਰੇ ਮਨ ਓਟ ਲੇਹੁ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮਾ ॥
re man ott lehu har naamaa |
O mind, take the sheltering support of the Lord's Name.
ਹੇ (ਮੇਰੇ) ਮਨ! ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਦਾ ਆਸਰਾ ਲਿਆ ਕਰ,
ਜਾ ਕੈ ਸਿਮਰਨਿ ਦੁਰਮਤਿ ਨਾਸੈ ਪਾਵਹਿ ਪਦੁ ਨਿਰਬਾਨਾ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
jaa kai simaran duramat naasai paaveh pad nirabaanaa |1| rahaau |
Remembering Him in meditation, evil-mindedness is dispelled, and the state of Nirvaanaa is obtained. ||1||Pause||
ਜਿਸ ਨਾਮ ਦੇ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਨਾਲ ਖੋਟੀ ਮੱਤ ਨਾਸ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ, (ਨਾਮ ਦੀ ਬਰਕਤਿ ਨਾਲ) ਤੂੰ ਉਹ ਆਤਮਕ ਦਰਜਾ ਹਾਸਲ ਕਰ ਲਏਂਗਾ ਜਿੱਥੇ ਕੋਈ ਵਾਸਨਾ ਪੋਹ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਕਦੀ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ਬਡਭਾਗੀ ਤਿਹ ਜਨ ਕਉ ਜਾਨਹੁ ਜੋ ਹਰਿ ਕੇ ਗੁਨ ਗਾਵੈ ॥
baddabhaagee tih jan kau jaanahu jo har ke gun gaavai |
Know that one who sings the Glorious Praises of the Lord is very fortunate.
ਹੇ (ਮੇਰੇ) ਮਨ! ਜਿਹੜਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਵੱਡੇ ਭਾਗਾਂ ਵਾਲਾ ਸਮਝ।
ਜਨਮ ਜਨਮ ਕੇ ਪਾਪ ਖੋਇ ਕੈ ਫੁਨਿ ਬੈਕੁੰਠਿ ਸਿਧਾਵੈ ॥੧॥
janam janam ke paap khoe kai fun baikuntth sidhaavai |1|
The sins of countless incarnations are washed off, and he attains the heavenly realm. ||1||
ਉਹ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਅਨੇਕਾਂ ਜਨਮਾਂ ਦੇ ਪਾਪ ਦੂਰ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਫਿਰ ਬੈਕੁੰਠ ਵਿਚ ਜਾ ਪਹੁੰਚਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੧॥
