ਅਨਿਕ ਭਗਤ ਅਨਿਕ ਜਨ ਤਾਰੇ ਸਿਮਰਹਿ ਅਨਿਕ ਮੁਨੀ ॥
anik bhagat anik jan taare simareh anik munee |
You have saved so many devotees, so many humble servants so many silent sages contemplate You.
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਅਨੇਕਾਂ ਹੀ ਰਿਸ਼ੀ ਮੁਨੀ ਤੇਰਾ ਨਾਮ ਸਿਮਰਦੇ ਹਨ। (ਸਿਮਰਨ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ) ਅਨੇਕਾਂ ਹੀ ਭਗਤ ਅਨੇਕਾਂ ਹੀ ਸੇਵਕ, ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਤੂੰ (ਸੰਸਾਰ-ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਤੋਂ) ਪਾਰ ਲੰਘਾ ਦਿੱਤੇ ਹਨ।
ਅੰਧੁਲੇ ਟਿਕ ਨਿਰਧਨ ਧਨੁ ਪਾਇਓ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਨਾਨਕ ਅਨਿਕ ਗੁਨੀ ॥੨॥੨॥੧੨੭॥
andhule ttik niradhan dhan paaeo prabh naanak anik gunee |2|2|127|
The support of the blind, the wealth of the poor Nanak has found God, of endless virtues. ||2||2||127||
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! (ਆਖ-) ਹੇ ਅਨੇਕਾਂ ਗੁਣਾਂ ਦੇ ਮਾਲਕ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! (ਤੇਰਾ ਨਾਮ) ਅੰਨ੍ਹੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੂੰ, ਮਾਨੋ, ਡੰਗੋਰੀ ਮਿਲ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ, ਕੰਗਾਲ ਨੂੰ ਧਨ ਮਿਲ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੨॥੨॥੧੨੭॥

ਅਕਾਲ ਪੁਰਖ ਇੱਕ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਨਾਲ ਮਿਲਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਮੋਹਨ ਨੀਦ ਨ ਆਵੈ ਹਾਵੈ ਹਾਰ ਕਜਰ ਬਸਤ੍ਰ ਅਭਰਨ ਕੀਨੇ ॥
mohan need na aavai haavai haar kajar basatr abharan keene |
O Enticing Lord, I cannot sleep I sigh. I am adorned with necklaces, gowns, ornaments and make-up.
ਹੇ ਮੋਹਨ-ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! (ਜਿਵੇਂ ਪਤੀ ਤੋਂ ਵਿਛੁੜੀ ਹੋਈ ਇਸਤ੍ਰੀ ਭਾਵੇਂ ਜੀਕਰ) ਹਾਰ, ਕੱਜਲ, ਕਪੜੇ, ਗਹਿਣੇ ਪਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ, (ਪਰ ਵਿਛੋੜੇ ਦੇ ਕਾਰਨ) ਹਾਹੁਕੇ ਵਿਚ (ਉਸ ਨੂੰ) ਨੀਂਦ ਨਹੀਂ ਆਉਂਦੀ,
ਉਡੀਨੀ ਉਡੀਨੀ ਉਡੀਨੀ ॥

I am sad, sad and depressed.
(ਪਤੀ ਦੀ ਉਡੀਕ ਵਿਚ ਉਹ) ਹਰ ਵੇਲੇ ਉਦਾਸ ਉਦਾਸ ਰਹਿੰਦੀ ਹੈ, (ਤੇ ਸਹੇਲੀ ਪਾਸੋਂ ਪੁੱਛਦੀ ਹੈ-)
ਕਬ ਘਰਿ ਆਵੈ ਰੀ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥

ਹੇ ਭੈਣ! (ਮੇਰਾ ਪਤੀ) ਕਦੋਂ ਘਰ ਆਵੇਗਾ (ਇਸੇ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ, ਹੇ ਮੋਹਨ! ਤੈਥੋਂ ਵਿਛੁੜ ਕੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਸ਼ਾਂਤੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਆਉਂਦੀ) ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ਸਰਨਿ ਸੁਹਾਗਨਿ ਚਰਨ ਸੀਸੁ ਧਰਿ ॥

I seek the Sanctuary of the happy soul-brides I place my head upon their feet.
ਹੇ ਮੋਹਨ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਮੈਂ ਗੁਰਮੁਖ ਸੁਹਾਗਣ ਦੀ ਸਰਨ ਪੈਂਦੀ ਹਾਂ, ਉਸ ਦੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਉਤੇ (ਆਪਣਾ) ਸਿਰ ਧਰ ਕੇ (ਪੁੱਛਦੀ ਹਾਂ-)
ਲਾਲਨੁ ਮੋਹਿ ਮਿਲਾਵਹੁ ॥

Unite me with my Beloved.
ਹੇ ਭੈਣ! ਮੈਨੂੰ ਸੋਹਣਾ ਲਾਲ ਮਿਲਾ ਦੇ (ਦੱਸ, ਉਹ)
ਕਬ ਘਰਿ ਆਵੈ ਰੀ ॥੧॥

When will He come to my home? ||1||
ਕਦੋਂ ਮੇਰੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ-ਘਰ ਵਿਚ ਆਵੇਗਾ ॥੧॥
ਸੁਨਹੁ ਸਹੇਰੀ ਮਿਲਨ ਬਾਤ ਕਹਉ ਸਗਰੋ ਅਹੰ ਮਿਟਾਵਹੁ ਤਉ ਘਰ ਹੀ ਲਾਲਨੁ ਪਾਵਹੁ ॥
sunahu saheree milan baat khau sagaro ahan mittaavahu tau ghar hee laalan paavahu |
Listen, my companions: tell me how to meet Him. Eradicate all egotism, and then you shall find your Beloved Lord within the home of your heart.
(ਸੁਹਾਗਣ ਆਖਦੀ ਹੈ-) ਹੇ ਸਹੇਲੀਏ! ਸੁਣ, ਮੈਂ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਮੋਹਨ-ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਮਿਲਣ ਦੀ ਗੱਲ ਸੁਣਾਂਦੀ ਹਾਂ। ਤੂੰ (ਆਪਣੇ ਅੰਦਰੋਂ) ਸਾਰਾ ਅਹੰਕਾਰ ਦੂਰ ਕਰ ਦੇ। ਤਦੋਂ ਤੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ-ਘਰ ਵਿਚ ਹੀ ਉਸ ਸੋਹਣੇ ਲਾਲ ਨੂੰ ਲੱਭ ਲਏਂਗੀ।
ਤਬ ਰਸ ਮੰਗਲ ਗੁਨ ਗਾਵਹੁ ॥

Then, in delight, you shall sing the songs of joy and praise.
(ਹਿਰਦੇ-ਘਰ ਵਿਚ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਦਰਸਨ ਕਰ ਕੇ) ਫਿਰ ਤੂੰ ਖ਼ੁਸ਼ੀ ਆਨੰਦ ਪੈਦਾ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਹਰਿ-ਗੁਣ ਗਾਇਆ ਕਰੀਂ,
ਆਨਦ ਰੂਪ ਧਿਆਵਹੁ ॥
aanad roop dhiaavahu |
Meditate on the Lord, the embodiment of bliss.
ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਕਰਿਆ ਕਰੀਂ ਜੋ ਨਿਰਾ ਆਨੰਦ ਹੀ ਆਨੰਦ-ਰੂਪ ਹੈ।
ਨਾਨਕੁ ਦੁਆਰੈ ਆਇਓ ॥
naanak duaarai aaeo |
O Nanak, I came to the Lord's Door,
ਹੇ ਭੈਣ! ਨਾਨਕ (ਭੀ ਉਸ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ) ਦਰ ਤੇ ਆ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ,
ਤਉ ਮੈ ਲਾਲਨੁ ਪਾਇਓ ਰੀ ॥੨॥
tau mai laalan paaeo ree |2|
and then, I found my Beloved. ||2||
(ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਦਰ ਤੇ ਆ ਕੇ) ਮੈਂ (ਨਾਨਕ ਨੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ-ਘਰ ਵਿਚ ਹੀ) ਸੋਹਣਾ ਲਾਲ ਲੱਭ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ ॥੨॥
ਮੋਹਨ ਰੂਪੁ ਦਿਖਾਵੈ ॥

The Enticing Lord has revealed His form to me,
ਹੇ ਭੈਣ! (ਹੁਣ) ਮੋਹਨ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਦਰਸਨ ਦੇ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ,
ਅਬ ਮੋਹਿ ਨੀਦ ਸੁਹਾਵੈ ॥
ab mohi need suhaavai |
and now, sleep seems sweet to me.
ਹੁਣ (ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਮੋਹ ਵਲੋਂ ਪੈਦਾ ਹੋਈ) ਉਪਰਾਮਤਾ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਮਿੱਠੀ ਲੱਗ ਰਹੀ ਹੈ,
ਸਭ ਮੇਰੀ ਤਿਖਾ ਬੁਝਾਨੀ ॥
sabh meree tikhaa bujhaanee |
My thirst is totally quenched,
ਮੇਰੀ ਸਾਰੀ ਮਾਇਆ ਦੀ ਤ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨਾ ਮਿਟ ਗਈ ਹੈ।
ਅਬ ਮੈ ਸਹਜਿ ਸਮਾਨੀ ॥
ab mai sehaj samaanee |
and now, I am absorbed in celestial bliss.
ਹੁਣ ਮੈਂ ਆਤਮਕ ਅਡੋਲਤਾ ਵਿਚ ਟਿਕ ਗਈ ਹਾਂ।
ਮੀਠੀ ਪਿਰਹਿ ਕਹਾਨੀ ॥

How sweet is the story of my Husband Lord.
ਪ੍ਰਭੂ-ਪਤੀ ਦੀਆਂ ਸਿਫ਼ਤਿ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਦੀਆਂ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਪਿਆਰੀਆਂ ਲੱਗ ਰਹੀਆਂ ਹਨ।
ਮੋਹਨੁ ਲਾਲਨੁ ਪਾਇਓ ਰੀ ॥ ਰਹਾਉ ਦੂਜਾ ॥੧॥੧੨੮॥

ਮੋਰੀ ਅਹੰ ਜਾਇ ਦਰਸਨ ਪਾਵਤ ਹੇ ॥

My ego is gone I have obtained the Blessed Vision of the Lord's Darshan.
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਖਸਮ-ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਦਰਸਨ ਕਰਨ ਨਾਲ ਮੇਰੀ ਹਉਮੈ ਦੂਰ ਹੋ ਗਈ ਹੈ।
ਰਾਚਹੁ ਨਾਥ ਹੀ ਸਹਾਈ ਸੰਤਨਾ ॥ ਅਬ ਚਰਨ ਗਹੇ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
raachahu naath hee sahaaee santanaa | ab charan gahe |1| rahaau |
I am absorbed in my Lord and Master, the help and support of the Saints. Now, I hold tight to His Feet. ||1||Pause||
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਸੰਤਾਂ ਦੇ ਸਹਾਈ ਖਸਮ-ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਸਦਾ ਜੁੜੇ ਰਹੋ। ਮੈਂ ਤਾਂ ਹੁਣ ਉਸੇ ਦੇ ਹੀ ਚਰਨ ਫੜ ਲਏ ਹਨ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ਆਹੇ ਮਨ ਅਵਰੁ ਨ ਭਾਵੈ ਚਰਨਾਵੈ ਚਰਨਾਵੈ ਉਲਝਿਓ ਅਲਿ ਮਕਰੰਦ ਕਮਲ ਜਿਉ ॥
aahe man avar na bhaavai charanaavai charanaavai ulajhio al makarand kamal jiau |
My mind longs for Him, and does not love any other. I am totally absorbed, in love with His Lotus Feet, like the bumble bee attached to the honey of the lotus flower.
(ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਦਰਸਨ ਦੀ ਬਰਕਤ ਨਾਲ) ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨ ਨੂੰ ਹੋਰ ਕੁਝ ਭੀ ਚੰਗਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਲੱਗਦਾ, (ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਦਰਸਨ ਨੂੰ ਹੀ) ਤਾਂਘਦਾ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਜਿਵੇਂ ਭੌਰਾ ਕੌਲ-ਫੁੱਲ ਦੀ ਧੂੜੀ ਵਿਚ ਲਪਟਿਆ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਤਿਵੇਂ ਮੇਰਾ ਮਨ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਵਲ ਹੀ ਮੁੜ ਮੁੜ ਪਰਤਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਅਨ ਰਸ ਨਹੀ ਚਾਹੈ ਏਕੈ ਹਰਿ ਲਾਹੈ ॥੧॥
an ras nahee chaahai ekai har laahai |1|
I do not desire any other taste I seek only the One Lord. ||1||
ਮੇਰਾ ਮਨ ਹੋਰ (ਪਦਾਰਥਾਂ ਦੇ) ਸੁਆਦਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਨਹੀਂ ਲੋੜਦਾ, ਇਕ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨੂੰ ਲੱਭਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੧॥
ਅਨ ਤੇ ਟੂਟੀਐ ਰਿਖ ਤੇ ਛੂਟੀਐ ॥
an te ttootteeai rikh te chhootteeai |
I have broken away from the others, and I have been released from the Messenger of Death.
(ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਦਰਸਨ ਦੀ ਬਰਕਤ ਨਾਲ) ਹੋਰ (ਪਦਾਰਥਾਂ ਦੇ ਮੋਹ) ਤੋਂ ਸੰਬੰਧ ਤੋੜ ਲਈਦਾ ਹੈ, ਇੰਦ੍ਰੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਪਕੜ ਤੋਂ ਖ਼ਲਾਸੀ ਪਾ ਲਈਦੀ ਹੈ।
ਮਨ ਹਰਿ ਰਸ ਘੂਟੀਐ ਸੰਗਿ ਸਾਧੂ ਉਲਟੀਐ ॥
man har ras ghootteeai sang saadhoo ulatteeai |
O mind, drink in the subtle essence of the Lord join the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy, and turn away from the world.
ਹੇ ਮਨ! ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਵਿਚ ਰਹਿ ਕੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ-ਰਸ ਚੁੰਘੀਦਾ ਹੈ, ਤੇ (ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਮੋਹ ਵਲੋਂ ਬ੍ਰਿਤੀ) ਪਰਤ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ।
ਅਨ ਨਾਹੀ ਨਾਹੀ ਰੇ ॥

There is no other, none other than the Lord.
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! (ਦਰਸਨ ਦੀ ਬਰਕਤ ਨਾਲ) ਹੋਰ ਮੋਹ ਉੱਕਾ ਹੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਭਾਉਂਦਾ।
ਨਾਨਕ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਿ ਚਰਨ ਚਰਨ ਹੇ ॥੨॥੨॥੧੨੯॥

O Nanak, love the Feet, the Feet of the Lord. ||2||2||129||
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! (ਆਖ-) ਹਰ ਵੇਲੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਹੀ ਪਿਆਰ ਬਣਿਆ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੨॥੨॥੧੨੯॥

ਰਾਗ ਬਿਲਾਵਲੁ ਵਿੱਚ ਗੁਰੂ ਤੇਗਬਹਾਦਰ ਜੀ ਦੀ ਦੋ-ਬੰਦਾਂ ਵਾਲੀ ਬਾਣੀ।
ੴ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ॥

The Name of the Lord is the Dispeller of sorrow - realize this.
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਇਹ ਨਾਮ ਸਾਰੇ ਦੁੱਖਾਂ ਦਾ ਨਾਸ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ। ਆਪਣੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਉਸ ਹਰਿ-ਨਾਮ ਨਾਲ ਜਾਣ-ਪਛਾਣ ਬਣਾਈ ਰੱਖ,
ਅਜਾਮਲੁ ਗਨਿਕਾ ਜਿਹ ਸਿਮਰਤ ਮੁਕਤ ਭਏ ਜੀਅ ਜਾਨੋ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ajaamal ganikaa jih simarat mukat bhe jeea jaano |1| rahaau |
Remembering Him in meditation, even Ajaamal the robber and Ganikaa the prostitute were liberated let your soul know this. ||1||Pause||
ਜਿਸ ਨਾਮ ਨੂੰ ਸਿਮਰਦਿਆਂ ਸਿਮਰਦਿਆਂ ਅਜਾਮਲ ਵਿਕਾਰਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਹਟ ਗਿਆ, ਗਨਿਕਾ ਵਿਕਾਰਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਮੁਕਤ ਹੋ ਗਈ। ਤੂੰ ਭੀ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਨਾਲ ਸਾਂਝ ਪਾਈ ਰੱਖ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ਗਜ ਕੀ ਤ੍ਰਾਸ ਮਿਟੀ ਛਿਨਹੂ ਮਹਿ ਜਬ ਹੀ ਰਾਮੁ ਬਖਾਨੋ ॥
gaj kee traas mittee chhinahoo meh jab hee raam bakhaano |
The elephant's fear was taken away in an instant, as soon as he chanted the Lord's Name.
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਜਦੋਂ ਗਜ ਨੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਉਚਾਰਿਆ, ਉਸ ਦੀ ਬਿਪਤਾ ਭੀ ਇਕ ਛਿਨ ਵਿਚ ਹੀ ਦੂਰ ਹੋ ਗਈ।
ਨਾਰਦ ਕਹਤ ਸੁਨਤ ਧ੍ਰੂਅ ਬਾਰਿਕ ਭਜਨ ਮਾਹਿ ਲਪਟਾਨੋ ॥੧॥
naarad kehat sunat dhraooa baarik bhajan maeh lapattaano |1|
Listening to Naarad's teachings, the child Dhroo was absorbed in deep meditation. ||1||
ਨਾਰਦ ਦਾ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੋਇਆ ਉਪਦੇਸ਼ ਸੁਣਦਿਆਂ ਬਾਲਕ ਧ੍ਰੂ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਭਜਨ ਵਿਚ ਮਸਤ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ ॥੧॥
ਅਚਲ ਅਮਰ ਨਿਰਭੈ ਪਦੁ ਪਾਇਓ ਜਗਤ ਜਾਹਿ ਹੈਰਾਨੋ ॥
achal amar nirabhai pad paaeo jagat jaeh hairaano |
He obtained the immovable, eternal state of fearlessness, and all the world was amazed.
(ਹਰਿ-ਨਾਮ ਦੇ ਭਜਨ ਦੀ ਬਰਕਤ ਨਾਲ ਧ੍ਰੂ ਨੇ) ਐਸਾ ਆਤਮਕ ਦਰਜਾ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕਰ ਲਿਆ ਜੋ ਸਦਾ ਲਈ ਅਟੱਲ ਤੇ ਅਮਰ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ। ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਵੇਖ ਕੇ ਦੁਨੀਆ ਹੈਰਾਨ ਹੋ ਰਹੀ ਹੈ।
ਨਾਨਕ ਕਹਤ ਭਗਤ ਰਛਕ ਹਰਿ ਨਿਕਟਿ ਤਾਹਿ ਤੁਮ ਮਾਨੋ ॥੨॥੧॥
naanak kehat bhagat rachhak har nikatt taeh tum maano |2|1|
Says Nanak, the Lord is the Saving Grace and the Protector of His devotees believe it - He is close to you. ||2||1||
ਨਾਨਕ ਆਖਦਾ ਹੈ-ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਤੂੰ ਭੀ ਉਸ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨੂੰ ਸਦਾ ਆਪਣੇ ਅੰਗ-ਸੰਗ ਵੱਸਦਾ ਸਮਝ, ਉਹ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਆਪਣੇ ਭਗਤਾਂ ਦੀ ਰੱਖਿਆ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ ॥੨॥੧॥

Bilaaval, Ninth Mehl:
ਹਰਿ ਕੇ ਨਾਮ ਬਿਨਾ ਦੁਖੁ ਪਾਵੈ ॥
har ke naam binaa dukh paavai |
Without the Name of the Lord, you shall only find pain.
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ (ਸਿਮਰਨ) ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੁੱਖ ਸਹਾਰਦਾ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਭਗਤਿ ਬਿਨਾ ਸਹਸਾ ਨਹ ਚੂਕੈ ਗੁਰੁ ਇਹੁ ਭੇਦੁ ਬਤਾਵੈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
bhagat binaa sahasaa neh chookai gur ihu bhed bataavai |1| rahaau |
Without devotional worship, doubt is not dispelled the Guru has revealed this secret. ||1||Pause||
ਗੁਰੂ (ਜੀਵਨ-ਮਾਰਗ ਦੀ) ਇਹ ਡੂੰਘੀ ਗੱਲ ਦੱਸਦਾ ਹੈ, ਕਿ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਭਗਤੀ ਕਰਨ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦਾ ਸਹਿਮ ਖ਼ਤਮ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੁੰਦਾ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ਕਹਾ ਭਇਓ ਤੀਰਥ ਬ੍ਰਤ ਕੀਏ ਰਾਮ ਸਰਨਿ ਨਹੀ ਆਵੈ ॥
kahaa bheo teerath brat kee raam saran nahee aavai |
Of what use are sacred shrines of pilgrimage, if one does not enter the Sanctuary of the Lord?
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਜੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਸਰਨ ਨਹੀਂ ਪੈਂਦਾ, ਤਾਂ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਤੀਰਥ-ਜਾਤ੍ਰਾ ਕਰਨ ਦਾ ਕੋਈ ਲਾਭ ਨਹੀਂ, ਵਰਤ ਰੱਖਣ ਦਾ ਕੋਈ ਫ਼ਾਇਦਾ ਨਹੀਂ।
