ਸ੍ਰਮੁ ਕਰਤੇ ਦਮ ਆਢ ਕਉ ਤੇ ਗਨੀ ਧਨੀਤਾ ॥੩॥
sram karate dam aadt kau te ganee dhaneetaa |3|
Those who worked for half a shell, will be judged very wealthy. ||3||
(ਜੇਹੜੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ) ਅੱਧੀ ਅੱਧੀ ਕੌਡੀ ਵਾਸਤੇ ਧੱਕੇ ਖਾਂਦੇ ਫਿਰਦੇ ਸਨ, ਉਹ ਦੌਲਤ-ਮੰਦ ਧਨਾਢ ਬਣ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ (ਮਾਇਆ ਵਲੋਂ ਬੇ-ਮੁਥਾਜ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ) ॥੩॥
ਕਵਨ ਵਡਾਈ ਕਹਿ ਸਕਉ ਬੇਅੰਤ ਗੁਨੀਤਾ ॥
kavan vaddaaee keh skau beant guneetaa |
What glorious greatness of Yours can I describe, O Lord of infinite excellences?
(ਹੇ ਮਿੱਤਰ! ਸਾਧ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਵਿਚੋਂ ਮਿਲਦੇ ਹਰਿ-ਨਾਮ ਦੀ) ਮੈਂ ਕੇਹੜੀ ਕੇਹੜੀ ਵਡਿਆਈ ਦੱਸਾਂ? ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਬੇਅੰਤ ਗੁਣਾਂ ਦਾ ਮਾਲਕ ਹੈ।
ਕਰਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਮੋਹਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਦੇਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਦਰਸ ਰੀਤਾ ॥੪॥੭॥੩੭॥
kar kirapaa mohi naam dehu naanak daras reetaa |4|7|37|
Please bless me with Your Mercy, and grant me Your Name O Nanak, I am lost without the Blessed Vision of Your Darshan. ||4||7||37||

ਅਹੰਬੁਧਿ ਪਰਬਾਦ ਨੀਤ ਲੋਭ ਰਸਨਾ ਸਾਦਿ ॥
ahanbudh parabaad neet lobh rasanaa saad |
He is constantly entangled in pride, conflict, greed and tasty flavors.
(ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਤੋਂ ਖੁੰਝ ਕੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ) ਅਹੰਕਾਰ ਦੀ ਅਕਲ ਦੇ ਆਸਰੇ ਦੂਜਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਵੰਗਾਰਨ ਦੇ ਖਰ੍ਹਵੇ ਬੋਲ ਬੋਲਦਾ ਹੈ, ਸਦਾ ਲਾਲਚ ਅਤੇ ਜੀਭ ਦੇ ਸੁਆਦ ਵਿਚ (ਫਸਿਆ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ)
ਲਪਟਿ ਕਪਟਿ ਗ੍ਰਿਹਿ ਬੇਧਿਆ ਮਿਥਿਆ ਬਿਖਿਆਦਿ ॥੧॥
lapatt kapatt grihi bedhiaa mithiaa bikhiaad |1|
He is involved in deception, fraud, household affairs and corruption. ||1||
ਘਰ (ਦੇ ਮੋਹ) ਵਿਚ, ਠੱਗੀ-ਫ਼ਰੇਬ ਵਿਚ ਫਸ ਕੇ, ਨਾਸਵੰਤ ਮਾਇਆ (ਦੇ ਮੋਹ) ਵਿਚ ਵਿੱਝਾ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੧॥
ਐਸੀ ਪੇਖੀ ਨੇਤ੍ਰ ਮਹਿ ਪੂਰੇ ਗੁਰ ਪਰਸਾਦਿ ॥
aisee pekhee netr meh poore gur parasaad |
I have seen this with my eyes, by the Grace of the Perfect Guru.
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਨਾਲ ਮੈਂ ਆਪਣੀ ਅੱਖੀਂ ਹੀ (ਜਗਤ ਦੇ ਪਦਾਰਥਾਂ ਦੀ) ਇਹੋ ਜਿਹੀ ਹਾਲਤ ਵੇਖ ਲਈ ਹੈ,
ਰਾਜ ਮਿਲਖ ਧਨ ਜੋਬਨਾ ਨਾਮੈ ਬਿਨੁ ਬਾਦਿ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
raaj milakh dhan jobanaa naamai bin baad |1| rahaau |
Power, property, wealth and youth are useless, without the Naam, the Name of the Lord. ||1||Pause||
(ਕਿ ਦੁਨੀਆ ਦੀਆਂ) ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹੀਆਂ, ਜ਼ਮੀਨਾਂ (ਦੀ ਮਾਲਕੀ), ਧਨ ਅਤੇ ਜੁਆਨੀ (ਆਦਿਕ ਸਾਰੇ ਹੀ) ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ ਵਿਅਰਥ ਹਨ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ਰੂਪ ਧੂਪ ਸੋਗੰਧਤਾ ਕਾਪਰ ਭੋਗਾਦਿ ॥
roop dhoop sogandhataa kaapar bhogaad |
Beauty, incense, scented oils, beautiful clothes and foods
(ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਤੋਂ ਖੁੰਝ ਕੇ ਜਿਸ ਸਰੀਰ ਦਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਮਾਣ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ) ਸੋਹਣੇ ਸੋਹਣੇ ਪਦਾਰਥ, ਧੂਪ ਆਦਿਕ ਸੁਗੰਧੀਆਂ, ਕੱਪੜੇ, ਚੰਗੇ ਚੰਗੇ ਖਾਣੇ-
ਮਿਲਤ ਸੰਗਿ ਪਾਪਿਸਟ ਤਨ ਹੋਏ ਦੁਰਗਾਦਿ ॥੨॥
milat sang paapisatt tan hoe duragaad |2|
- when they come into contact with the body of the sinner, they stink. ||2||
ਮਹਾ ਵਿਕਾਰੀ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੇ ਸਰੀਰ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਛੁਹ ਕੇ ਛੁਹ ਕੇ ਦੁਰਗੰਧੀ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਬਣ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ ॥੨॥
ਫਿਰਤ ਫਿਰਤ ਮਾਨੁਖੁ ਭਇਆ ਖਿਨ ਭੰਗਨ ਦੇਹਾਦਿ ॥
firat firat maanukh bheaa khin bhangan dehaad |
Wandering, wandering around, the soul is reincarnated as a human, but this body lasts only for an instant.
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਅਨੇਕਾਂ ਜੂਨਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਭਟਕਦਾ ਭਟਕਦਾ ਜੀਵ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਬਣਦਾ ਹੈ, ਇਹ ਸਰੀਰ ਭੀ ਇਕ ਖਿਨ ਵਿਚ ਨਾਸ ਹੋ ਜਾਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ (ਇਸ ਦਾ ਮਾਣ ਭੀ ਕਾਹਦਾ? ਇਸ ਸਰੀਰ ਵਿਚ ਭੀ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਤੋਂ ਖੁੰਝਿਆ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ)।
ਇਹ ਅਉਸਰ ਤੇ ਚੂਕਿਆ ਬਹੁ ਜੋਨਿ ਭ੍ਰਮਾਦਿ ॥੩॥
eih aausar te chookiaa bahu jon bhramaad |3|
Losing this opportunity, he must wander again through countless incarnations. ||3||
ਇਸ ਮੌਕੇ ਤੋਂ ਖੁੰਝਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਜੀਵ (ਫਿਰ) ਅਨੇਕਾਂ ਜੂਨਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਜਾ ਭਟਕਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੩॥
ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਤੇ ਗੁਰ ਮਿਲੇ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਬਿਸਮਾਦ ॥
prabh kirapaa te gur mile har har bisamaad |
By God's Grace, he meets the Guru contemplating the Lord, Har, Har, he is wonderstruck.
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਨਾਲ ਜੇਹੜੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਗੁਰੂ ਨੂੰ ਮਿਲ ਪਏ, ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੇ ਅਚਰਜ-ਰੂਪ ਹਰੀ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਜਪਿਆ,
ਸੂਖ ਸਹਜ ਨਾਨਕ ਅਨੰਦ ਤਾ ਕੈ ਪੂਰਨ ਨਾਦ ॥੪॥੮॥੩੮॥
sookh sehaj naanak anand taa kai pooran naad |4|8|38|
He is blessed with peace, poise and bliss, O Nanak, through the perfect sound current of the Naad. ||4||8||38||
ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਆਤਮਕ ਅਡੋਲਤਾ ਦੇ ਸੁਖ ਆਨੰਦ ਦੇ ਵਾਜੇ ਸਦਾ ਵੱਜਣ ਲੱਗ ਪਏ ॥੪॥੮॥੩੮॥

ਚਰਨ ਭਏ ਸੰਤ ਬੋਹਿਥਾ ਤਰੇ ਸਾਗਰੁ ਜੇਤ ॥
charan bhe sant bohithaa tare saagar jet |
The feet of the Saints are the boat, to cross over the world-ocean.
(ਹੇ ਭਾਈ!) ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਚਰਨ (ਉਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਵਾਸਤੇ) ਜਹਾਜ਼ ਬਣ ਗਏ ਜਿਸ (ਜਹਾਜ਼) ਦੀ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਉਹ ਮਨੁੱਖ (ਸੰਸਾਰ-) ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਤੋਂ ਪਾਰ ਲੰਘ ਗਿਆ।
ਮਾਰਗ ਪਾਏ ਉਦਿਆਨ ਮਹਿ ਗੁਰਿ ਦਸੇ ਭੇਤ ॥੧॥
maarag paae udiaan meh gur dase bhet |1|
In the wilderness, the Guru places them on the Path, and reveals the secrets of the Lord's Mystery. ||1||
(ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੂੰ ਹਰਿ-ਨਾਮ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਦਾ) ਭੇਤ ਗੁਰੂ ਨੇ ਦੱਸ ਦਿੱਤਾ, ਉਸ ਨੇ (ਵਿਕਾਰਾਂ ਵਲ ਲੈ ਜਾਣ ਵਾਲੇ) ਔਝੜ ਵਿਚ (ਜੀਵਨ ਦਾ ਸਹੀ) ਰਸਤਾ ਲੱਭ ਲਿਆ ॥੧॥
ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਹਰੇ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਹੇਤ ॥
har har har har har hare har har har het |
O Lord, Har Har Har, Har Har Haray, Har Har Har, I love You.
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਸਦਾ ਹੀ ਹਰ ਵੇਲੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਵਿਚ ਪਿਆਰ ਪਾ।
ਊਠਤ ਬੈਠਤ ਸੋਵਤੇ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਚੇਤ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥

While standing up, sitting down and sleeping, think of the Lord, Har Har Har. ||1||Pause||
ਉਠਦਿਆਂ ਬੈਠਦਿਆਂ ਸੁੱਤਿਆਂ (ਹਰ ਵੇਲੇ) ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਯਾਦ ਕਰਿਆ ਕਰ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ਪੰਚ ਚੋਰ ਆਗੈ ਭਗੇ ਜਬ ਸਾਧਸੰਗੇਤ ॥
panch chor aagai bhage jab saadhasanget |
The five thieves run away, when one joins the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy.
(ਹੇ ਭਾਈ!) ਜਦੋਂ (ਮਨੁੱਖ) ਸਾਧ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਵਿਚ (ਜਾ ਟਿਕਦਾ ਹੈ, ਤਦੋਂ ਕਾਮਾਦਿਕ) ਪੰਜੇ ਚੋਰ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਟਾਕਰੇ ਤੋਂ ਭੱਜ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ।
ਪੂੰਜੀ ਸਾਬਤੁ ਘਣੋ ਲਾਭੁ ਗ੍ਰਿਹਿ ਸੋਭਾ ਸੇਤ ॥੨॥
poonjee saabat ghano laabh grihi sobhaa set |2|
His investment is intact, and he earns great profits his household is blessed with honor. ||2||
ਉਸ ਦੀ ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਦੀ ਸਾਰੀ ਦੀ ਸਾਰੀ ਰਾਸਿ-ਪੂੰਜੀ (ਲੁੱਟੇ ਜਾਣ ਤੋਂ) ਬਚ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ, (ਸਗੋਂ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਇਸ ਨਾਮ-ਵਣਜ ਵਿਚ) ਬਹੁਤਾ ਨਫ਼ਾ ਭੀ ਪੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਅਤੇ ਪਰਲੋਕ ਵਿਚ ਸੋਭਾ ਨਾਲ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੨॥
ਨਿਹਚਲ ਆਸਣੁ ਮਿਟੀ ਚਿੰਤ ਨਾਹੀ ਡੋਲੇਤ ॥
nihachal aasan mittee chint naahee ddolet |
His position is unmoving and eternal, his anxiety is ended, and he wavers no more.
(ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਵਿਕਾਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਟਾਕਰੇ ਤੇ) ਉਸ ਦਾ ਹਿਰਦਾ-ਆਸਣ ਅਟੱਲ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਦੀ (ਹਰੇਕ ਕਿਸਮ ਦੀ) ਚਿੰਤਾ ਮਿਟ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ, ਕੁਰਾਹੇ ਜਾਣ ਵਾਲੀ ਆਦਤ ਦੂਰ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ। ਉਹ ਮਨੁੱਖ (ਵਿਕਾਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਸਾਹਮਣੇ) ਡੋਲਦਾ ਨਹੀਂ।
ਭਰਮੁ ਭੁਲਾਵਾ ਮਿਟਿ ਗਇਆ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਪੇਖਤ ਨੇਤ ॥੩॥
bharam bhulaavaa mitt geaa prabh pekhat net |3|
His doubts and misgivings are dispelled, and he sees God everywhere. ||3||
(ਸਾਧ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਦੀ ਬਰਕਤਿ ਨਾਲ ਹਰ ਥਾਂ) ਅੱਖਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਦਰਸ਼ਨ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਉਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੀ ਭਟਕਣਾ ਮੁੱਕ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ ॥੩॥
ਗੁਣ ਗਭੀਰ ਗੁਨ ਨਾਇਕਾ ਗੁਣ ਕਹੀਅਹਿ ਕੇਤ ॥
gun gabheer gun naaeikaa gun kaheeeh ket |
The Virtues of our Virtuous Lord and Master are so profound how many of His Glorious Virtues should I speak?
ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਗੁਣਾਂ ਦਾ ਅਥਾਹ ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਹੈ, ਗੁਣਾਂ ਦਾ ਖ਼ਜ਼ਾਨਾ ਹੈ (ਬਿਆਨ ਕੀਤਿਆਂ) ਉਸ ਦੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਗੁਣ ਬਿਆਨ ਨਹੀਂ ਕੀਤੇ ਜਾ ਸਕਦੇ।
ਨਾਨਕ ਪਾਇਆ ਸਾਧਸੰਗਿ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਅੰਮ੍ਰੇਤ ॥੪॥੯॥੩੯॥
naanak paaeaa saadhasang har har amret |4|9|39|
Nanak has obtained the Ambrosial Nectar of the Lord, Har, Har, in the Company of the Holy. ||4||9||39||
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਪਰ ਜੇਹੜਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਸਾਧ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਵਿਚ ਟਿਕ ਕੇ ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਹਰਿ-ਨਾਮ ਜਲ ਪੀਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਮਿਲਾਪ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੪॥੯॥੩੯॥

ਬਿਨੁ ਸਾਧੂ ਜੋ ਜੀਵਨਾ ਤੇਤੋ ਬਿਰਥਾਰੀ ॥
bin saadhoo jo jeevanaa teto birathaaree |
That life, which has no contact with the Holy, is useless.
(ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਗੁਰੂ (ਦੇ ਮਿਲਾਪ) ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ ਜਿਤਨੀ ਭੀ ਉਮਰ ਗੁਜ਼ਾਰਨੀ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਸਾਰੀ ਵਿਅਰਥ ਚਲੀ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ।
ਮਿਲਤ ਸੰਗਿ ਸਭਿ ਭ੍ਰਮ ਮਿਟੇ ਗਤਿ ਭਈ ਹਮਾਰੀ ॥੧॥
milat sang sabh bhram mitte gat bhee hamaaree |1|
Joining their congregation, all doubts are dispelled, and I am emancipated. ||1||
ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਵਿਚ ਮਿਲਦਿਆਂ ਹੀ ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਭਟਕਣਾ ਮਿਟ ਜਾਂਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ, (ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਨਾਲ) ਅਸਾਂ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਉੱਚੀ ਆਤਮਕ ਅਵਸਥਾ ਮਿਲ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ ॥੧॥
ਜਾ ਦਿਨ ਭੇਟੇ ਸਾਧ ਮੋਹਿ ਉਆ ਦਿਨ ਬਲਿਹਾਰੀ ॥
jaa din bhette saadh mohi uaa din balihaaree |
That day, when I meet with the Holy - I am a sacrifice to that day.
(ਹੇ ਭਾਈ!) ਮੈਂ ਉਸ ਦਿਨ ਤੋਂ ਸਦਕੇ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹਾਂ, ਜਿਸ ਦਿਨ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਮੇਰੇ ਗੁਰੂ (ਪਾਤਿਸ਼ਾਹ) ਮਿਲ ਪਏ।
ਤਨੁ ਮਨੁ ਅਪਨੋ ਜੀਅਰਾ ਫਿਰਿ ਫਿਰਿ ਹਉ ਵਾਰੀ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
tan man apano jeearaa fir fir hau vaaree |1| rahaau |
Again and again, I sacrifice my body, mind and soul to them. ||1||Pause||
ਹੁਣ ਮੈਂ (ਆਪਣੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਤੋਂ) ਆਪਣਾ ਸਰੀਰ, ਆਪਣਾ ਮਨ, ਆਪਣੀ ਪਿਆਰੀ ਜਿੰਦ ਮੁੜ ਮੁੜ ਸਦਕੇ ਕਰਦਾ ਹਾਂ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ਏਤ ਛਡਾਈ ਮੋਹਿ ਤੇ ਇਤਨੀ ਦ੍ਰਿੜਤਾਰੀ ॥
et chhaddaaee mohi te itanee drirrataaree |
They have helped me renounce this ego, and implant this humility within myself.
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! (ਗੁਰੂ ਨੇ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਕਰ ਕੇ) ਮੈਥੋਂ ਅਪਣੱਤ ਇਤਨੀ ਛਡਾ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਹੈ, ਅਤੇ ਨਿੰਮ੍ਰਤਾ (ਮੇਰੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ) ਇਤਨੀ ਪੱਕੀ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਹੈ,
ਸਗਲ ਰੇਨ ਇਹੁ ਮਨੁ ਭਇਆ ਬਿਨਸੀ ਅਪਧਾਰੀ ॥੨॥
sagal ren ihu man bheaa binasee apadhaaree |2|
This mind has become the dust of all men's feet, and my self-conceit has been dispelled. ||2||
ਕਿ ਹੁਣ ਮੇਰਾ ਇਹ ਮਨ ਸਭਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਚਰਨ-ਧੂੜ ਬਣ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ, ਹਰ ਵੇਲੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਹੀ ਸੁਆਰਥ ਦਾ ਖ਼ਿਆਲ ਮੇਰੇ ਅੰਦਰੋਂ ਮੁੱਕ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ ॥੨॥
ਨਿੰਦ ਚਿੰਦ ਪਰ ਦੂਖਨਾ ਏ ਖਿਨ ਮਹਿ ਜਾਰੀ ॥

In an instant, I burnt away the ideas of slander and ill-will towards others.
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਗੁਰੂ ਨੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਅੰਦਰੋਂ ਪਰਾਈ ਨਿੰਦਾ ਦਾ ਖ਼ਿਆਲ, ਦੂਜਿਆਂ ਦਾ ਬੁਰਾ ਤੱਕਣਾ-ਇਹ ਸਭ ਕੁਝ ਇਕ ਖਿਨ ਵਿਚ ਹੀ ਸਾੜ ਦਿੱਤੇ ਹਨ।
ਦਇਆ ਮਇਆ ਅਰੁ ਨਿਕਟਿ ਪੇਖੁ ਨਾਹੀ ਦੂਰਾਰੀ ॥੩॥
deaa meaa ar nikatt pekh naahee dooraaree |3|
I see close at hand, the Lord of mercy and compassion He is not far away at all. ||3||
(ਦੂਜਿਆਂ ਉਤੇ) ਦਇਆ (ਕਰਨੀ), (ਲੋੜਵੰਦਿਆਂ ਉਤੇ) ਤਰਸ (ਕਰਨਾ), ਅਤੇ (ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨੂੰ ਹਰ ਵੇਲੇ) ਆਪਣੇ ਨੇੜੇ ਵੇਖਣਾ-ਇਹ ਹਰ ਵੇਲੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਵੱਸਦੇ ਹਨ ॥੩॥
ਤਨ ਮਨ ਸੀਤਲ ਭਏ ਅਬ ਮੁਕਤੇ ਸੰਸਾਰੀ ॥
tan man seetal bhe ab mukate sansaaree |
My body and mind are cooled and soothed, and now, I am liberated from the world.
(ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਜਦੋਂ ਤੋਂ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਗੁਰੂ ਮਿਲ ਪਿਆ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਦੀ ਮੇਹਰ ਨਾਲ) ਹੁਣ ਮੇਰਾ ਮਨ ਅਤੇ ਤਨ (ਵਿਕਾਰਾਂ ਵਲੋਂ) ਸ਼ਾਂਤ ਹੋ ਗਏ ਹਨ, ਦੁਨੀਆ ਦੇ ਮੋਹ ਤੇ ਬੰਧਨਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਆਜ਼ਾਦ ਹੋ ਗਏ ਹਨ।
ਹੀਤ ਚੀਤ ਸਭ ਪ੍ਰਾਨ ਧਨ ਨਾਨਕ ਦਰਸਾਰੀ ॥੪॥੧੦॥੪੦॥
heet cheet sabh praan dhan naanak darasaaree |4|10|40|
Love, consciousness, the breath of life, wealth and everything, O Nanak, are in the Blessed Vision of the Lord's Darshan. ||4||10||40||
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! (ਆਖ-) ਹੁਣ ਮੇਰੀ ਲਗਨ, ਮੇਰੀ ਸੁਰਤਿ, ਮੇਰੀ ਜਿੰਦ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਦਰਸਨ ਵਿਚ ਹੀ ਮਗਨ ਹੈ, ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਦਰਸਨ ਹੀ ਮੇਰੇ ਵਾਸਤੇ ਧਨ ਹੈ ॥੪॥੧੦॥੪੦॥

ਟਹਲ ਕਰਉ ਤੇਰੇ ਦਾਸ ਕੀ ਪਗ ਝਾਰਉ ਬਾਲ ॥
ttehal krau tere daas kee pag jhaarau baal |
I perform service for Your slave, O Lord, and wipe his feet with my hair.
(ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਮੇਹਰ ਕਰ) ਮੈਂ ਤੇਰੇ ਸੇਵਕ ਦੀ ਸੇਵਾ ਕਰਦਾ ਰਹਾਂ। ਮੈਂ (ਤੇਰੇ ਸੇਵਕ ਦੇ) ਚਰਨ (ਆਪਣੇ) ਕੇਸਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਝਾੜਦਾ ਰਹਾਂ।
ਮਸਤਕੁ ਅਪਨਾ ਭੇਟ ਦੇਉ ਗੁਨ ਸੁਨਉ ਰਸਾਲ ॥੧॥

I offer my head to him, and listen to the Glorious Praises of the Lord, the source of bliss. ||1||
ਮੈਂ ਆਪਣਾ ਸਿਰ (ਤੇਰੇ ਸੇਵਕ ਅੱਗੇ) ਭੇਟਾ ਕਰ ਦਿਆਂ, (ਤੇ ਉਸ ਪਾਸੋਂ ਤੇਰੇ) ਰਸ-ਭਰੇ ਗੁਣ ਸੁਣਦਾ ਰਹਾਂ ॥੧॥
ਤੁਮੑ ਮਿਲਤੇ ਮੇਰਾ ਮਨੁ ਜੀਓ ਤੁਮੑ ਮਿਲਹੁ ਦਇਆਲ ॥
tuma milate meraa man jeeo tuma milahu deaal |
Meeting You, my mind is rejuvenated, so please meet me, O Merciful Lord.
ਹੇ ਦਇਆ ਦੇ ਸੋਮੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਮੈਨੂੰ ਮਿਲ। ਤੈਨੂੰ ਮਿਲਿਆਂ ਮੇਰਾ ਮਨ ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਨਿਸਿ ਬਾਸੁਰ ਮਨਿ ਅਨਦੁ ਹੋਤ ਚਿਤਵਤ ਕਿਰਪਾਲ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥

Night and day, my mind enjoys bliss, contemplating the Lord of Compassion. ||1||Pause||
ਹੇ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਦੇ ਘਰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! (ਤੇਰੇ ਗੁਣ) ਯਾਦ ਕਰਦਿਆਂ ਦਿਨ ਰਾਤ ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਆਨੰਦ ਬਣਿਆ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
