ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਜਪੈ ਉਧਰੈ ਸੋ ਕਲਿ ਮਹਿ ਘਟਿ ਘਟਿ ਨਾਨਕ ਮਾਝਾ ॥੪॥੩॥੫੦॥
guramukh naam japai udharai so kal meh ghatt ghatt naanak maajhaa |4|3|50|
One who, as Gurmukh, chants the Naam, the Name of the Lord, is saved. In this Dark Age of Kali Yuga, O Nanak, God is permeating the hearts of each and every being. ||4||3||50||
(ਕਿਸੇ ਭੀ ਵਰਨ ਦਾ ਹੋਵੇ) ਜੇਹੜਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਦੱਸੇ ਰਸਤੇ ਉਤੇ ਤੁਰ ਕੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਜਪਦਾ ਹੈ ਉਹ ਜਗਤ ਵਿਚ ਵਿਕਾਰਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਬਚ ਨਿਕਲਦਾ ਹੈ। ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਉਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੂੰ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਹਰੇਕ ਸਰੀਰ ਵਿਚ ਵੱਸਦਾ ਦਿੱਸਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੪॥੩॥੫੦॥

Soohee, Fifth Mehl:
ਜੋ ਕਿਛੁ ਕਰੈ ਸੋਈ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਮਾਨਹਿ ਓਇ ਰਾਮ ਨਾਮ ਰੰਗਿ ਰਾਤੇ ॥
jo kichh karai soee prabh maaneh oe raam naam rang raate |
Whatever God causes to happen is accepted, by those who are attuned to the Love of the Lord's Name.
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਉਹ ਸੰਤ ਜਨ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਦੇ ਰੰਗ ਵਿਚ ਰੰਗੇ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ। ਜੋ ਕੁਝ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਉਹ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੀ ਮੰਨਦੇ ਹਨ।
ਤਿਨੑ ਕੀ ਸੋਭਾ ਸਭਨੀ ਥਾਈ ਜਿਨੑ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕੇ ਚਰਣ ਪਰਾਤੇ ॥੧॥
tina kee sobhaa sabhanee thaaee jina prabh ke charan paraate |1|
Those who fall at the Feet of God are respected everywhere. ||1||
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਸਾਂਝ ਪਾ ਲਈ, ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਵਡਿਆਈ ਸਭ ਥਾਵਾਂ ਵਿਚ (ਖਿੱਲਰ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ) ॥੧॥
ਮੇਰੇ ਰਾਮ ਹਰਿ ਸੰਤਾ ਜੇਵਡੁ ਨ ਕੋਈ ॥
mere raam har santaa jevadd na koee |
O my Lord, no one is as great as the Lord's Saints.
ਹੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਤੇਰੇ ਸੰਤਾਂ ਦੇ ਬਰਾਬਰ ਦਾ ਹੋਰ ਕੋਈ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ।
ਭਗਤਾ ਬਣਿ ਆਈ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਅਪਨੇ ਸਿਉ ਜਲਿ ਥਲਿ ਮਹੀਅਲਿ ਸੋਈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
bhagataa ban aaee prabh apane siau jal thal maheeal soee |1| rahaau |
The devotees are in harmony with their God He is in the water, the land, and the sky. ||1||Pause||
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਸੰਤ ਜਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨਾਲ ਡੂੰਘੀ ਪ੍ਰੀਤ ਬਣੀ ਰਹਿੰਦੀ ਹੈ, ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਪਾਣੀ ਵਿਚ, ਧਰਤੀ ਵਿਚ, ਆਕਾਸ਼ ਵਿਚ ਹਰ ਥਾਂ ਵੱਸਦਾ ਦਿੱਸਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ਕੋਟਿ ਅਪ੍ਰਾਧੀ ਸੰਤਸੰਗਿ ਉਧਰੈ ਜਮੁ ਤਾ ਕੈ ਨੇੜਿ ਨ ਆਵੈ ॥
kott apraadhee santasang udharai jam taa kai nerr na aavai |
Millions of sinners have been saved in the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy the Messenger of Death does not even approach them.
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਕ੍ਰੋੜਾਂ ਅਪਰਾਧ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਭੀ ਸੰਤ ਦੀ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਵਿਚ (ਟਿਕ ਕੇ) ਵਿਕਾਰਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਬਚ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, (ਫਿਰ) ਜਮ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਨੇੜੇ ਨਹੀਂ ਆਉਂਦਾ।
ਜਨਮ ਜਨਮ ਕਾ ਬਿਛੁੜਿਆ ਹੋਵੈ ਤਿਨੑ ਹਰਿ ਸਿਉ ਆਣਿ ਮਿਲਾਵੈ ॥੨॥
janam janam kaa bichhurriaa hovai tina har siau aan milaavai |2|
Those who have been separated from the Lord, for countless incarnations, are reunited with the Lord again. ||2||
ਜੇ ਕੋਈ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਅਨੇਕਾਂ ਜਨਮਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨਾਲੋਂ ਵਿਛੁੜਿਆ ਹੋਵੇ-ਸੰਤ ਅਜੇਹੇ ਅਨੇਕਾਂ ਮਨੁੱਖਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਲਿਆ ਕੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨਾਲ ਮਿਲਾ ਦੇਂਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੨॥
ਮਾਇਆ ਮੋਹ ਭਰਮੁ ਭਉ ਕਾਟੈ ਸੰਤ ਸਰਣਿ ਜੋ ਆਵੈ ॥
maaeaa moh bharam bhau kaattai sant saran jo aavai |
Attachment to Maya, doubt and fear are eradicated, when one enters the Sanctuary of the Saints.
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਜੇਹੜਾ ਭੀ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਸੰਤ ਦੀ ਸਰਨ ਆ ਪੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਸੰਤ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰੋਂ ਮਾਇਆ ਦਾ ਮੋਹ, ਭਟਕਣਾ, ਡਰ ਦੂਰ ਕਰ ਦੇਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਜੇਹਾ ਮਨੋਰਥੁ ਕਰਿ ਆਰਾਧੇ ਸੋ ਸੰਤਨ ਤੇ ਪਾਵੈ ॥੩॥
jehaa manorath kar aaraadhe so santan te paavai |3|
Whatever wishes one harbors, are obtained from the Saints. ||3||
ਮਨੁੱਖ ਜਿਹੋ ਜਿਹੀ ਵਾਸਨਾ ਧਾਰ ਕੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ ਉਹ ਉਹੀ ਫ਼ਲ ਸੰਤ ਜਨਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕਰ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੩॥
ਜਨ ਕੀ ਮਹਿਮਾ ਕੇਤਕ ਬਰਨਉ ਜੋ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਅਪਨੇ ਭਾਣੇ ॥
jan kee mahimaa ketak barnau jo prabh apane bhaane |
How can I describe the glory of the Lord's humble servants? They are pleasing to their God.
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਜੇਹੜੇ ਸੇਵਕ ਆਪਣੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੂੰ ਪਿਆਰੇ ਲੱਗ ਚੁਕੇ ਹਨ, ਮੈਂ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਕਿਤਨੀ ਕੁ ਵਡਿਆਈ ਬਿਆਨ ਕਰਾਂ?
ਕਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਜਿਨ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਭੇਟਿਆ ਸੇ ਸਭ ਤੇ ਭਏ ਨਿਕਾਣੇ ॥੪॥੪॥੫੧॥
kahu naanak jin satigur bhettiaa se sabh te bhe nikaane |4|4|51|
Says Nanak, those who meet the True Guru, become independent of all obligations. ||4||4||51||
ਨਾਨਕ ਆਖਦਾ ਹੈ- ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਮਨੁੱਖਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਗੁਰੂ ਮਿਲ ਪਿਆ, ਉਹ ਸਾਰੀ ਲੁਕਾਈ ਤੋਂ ਬੇ-ਮੁਥਾਜ ਹੋ ਗਏ ॥੪॥੪॥੫੧॥

ਮਹਾ ਅਗਨਿ ਤੇ ਤੁਧੁ ਹਾਥ ਦੇ ਰਾਖੇ ਪਏ ਤੇਰੀ ਸਰਣਾਈ ॥
mahaa agan te tudh haath de raakhe pe teree saranaaee |
Giving me Your Hand, You saved me from the terrible fire, when I sought Your Sanctuary.
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਜੇਹੜੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਤੇਰੀ ਸਰਨ ਆ ਪਏ, ਤੂੰ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਹੱਥ ਦੇ ਕੇ (ਤ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨਾ ਦੀ) ਵੱਡੀ ਅੱਗ ਤੋਂ ਬਚਾ ਲਿਆ।
ਤੇਰਾ ਮਾਣੁ ਤਾਣੁ ਰਿਦ ਅੰਤਰਿ ਹੋਰ ਦੂਜੀ ਆਸ ਚੁਕਾਈ ॥੧॥
teraa maan taan rid antar hor doojee aas chukaaee |1|
Deep within my heart, I respect Your strength I have abandoned all other hopes. ||1||
ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੇ ਕਿਸੇ ਹੋਰ ਦੀ ਮਦਦ ਦੀ ਆਸ ਆਪਣੇ ਦਿਲੋਂ ਮੁਕਾ ਦਿੱਤੀ, ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਤੇਰਾ ਹੀ ਮਾਣ ਤੇਰਾ ਹੀ ਸਹਾਰਾ ਬਣਿਆ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੧॥
ਮੇਰੇ ਰਾਮ ਰਾਇ ਤੁਧੁ ਚਿਤਿ ਆਇਐ ਉਬਰੇ ॥
mere raam raae tudh chit aaeiai ubare |
O my Sovereign Lord, when You enter my consciousness, I am saved.
ਹੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ-ਪਾਤਿਸ਼ਾਹ! ਜੇ ਤੂੰ (ਜੀਵਾਂ ਦੇ) ਚਿੱਤ ਵਿਚ ਆ ਵੱਸੇਂ, ਤਾਂ ਉਹ (ਸੰਸਾਰ-ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਵਿਚ) ਡੁੱਬਣੋਂ ਬਚ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ।
ਤੇਰੀ ਟੇਕ ਭਰਵਾਸਾ ਤੁਮੑਰਾ ਜਪਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਤੁਮੑਾਰਾ ਉਧਰੇ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
teree ttek bharavaasaa tumaraa jap naam tumaaraa udhare |1| rahaau |
You are my support. I count on You. Meditating on You, I am saved. ||1||Pause||
ਉਹ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਤੇਰਾ ਨਾਮ ਜਪ ਕੇ ਵਿਕਾਰਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਖ਼ਲਾਸੀ ਪਾ ਲੈਂਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ (ਹਰ ਗੱਲੇ) ਤੇਰਾ ਹੀ ਆਸਰਾ ਤੇਰੀ ਸਹਾਇਤਾ ਦਾ ਭਰੋਸਾ ਬਣਿਆ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ਅੰਧ ਕੂਪ ਤੇ ਕਾਢਿ ਲੀਏ ਤੁਮੑ ਆਪਿ ਭਏ ਕਿਰਪਾਲਾ ॥
andh koop te kaadt lee tuma aap bhe kirapaalaa |
You pulled me up out of the deep, dark pit. You have become merciful to me.
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਮਨੁੱਖਾਂ ਉਤੇ ਤੂੰ ਆਪ ਦਇਆਵਾਨ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ, ਤੂੰ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ (ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਮੋਹ ਦੇ) ਹਨੇਰੇ ਖੂਹ ਵਿਚੋਂ ਕੱਢ ਲਿਆ।
ਸਾਰਿ ਸਮੑਾਲਿ ਸਰਬ ਸੁਖ ਦੀਏ ਆਪਿ ਕਰੇ ਪ੍ਰਤਿਪਾਲਾ ॥੨॥
saar samaal sarab sukh dee aap kare pratipaalaa |2|
You care for me, and bless me with total peace You Yourself cherish me. ||2||
ਤੂੰ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਸਾਰ ਲੈ ਕੇ, ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਸੰਭਾਲ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸਾਰੇ ਸੁਖ ਬਖ਼ਸ਼ੇ। ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਆਪ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਪਾਲਣਾ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੨॥
ਆਪਣੀ ਨਦਰਿ ਕਰੇ ਪਰਮੇਸਰੁ ਬੰਧਨ ਕਾਟਿ ਛਡਾਏ ॥
aapanee nadar kare paramesar bandhan kaatt chhaddaae |
The Transcendent Lord has blessed me with His Glance of Grace breaking my bonds, He has delivered me.
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਮਨੁੱਖਾਂ ਉਤੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਆਪਣੀ ਮੇਹਰ ਦੀ ਨਿਗਾਹ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ (ਮੋਹ ਦੇ) ਬੰਧਨ ਕੱਟ ਕੇ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਵਿਕਾਰਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਛਡਾ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਆਪਣੀ ਭਗਤਿ ਪ੍ਰਭਿ ਆਪਿ ਕਰਾਈ ਆਪੇ ਸੇਵਾ ਲਾਏ ॥੩॥
aapanee bhagat prabh aap karaaee aape sevaa laae |3|
God Himself inspires me to worship Him He Himself inspires me to serve Him. ||3||
ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਆਪਣੀ ਸੇਵਾ-ਭਗਤੀ ਵਿਚ ਜੋੜ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੇ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਪਾਸੋਂ ਆਪਣੀ ਭਗਤੀ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਕਰਾ ਲਈ ॥੩॥
ਭਰਮੁ ਗਇਆ ਭੈ ਮੋਹ ਬਿਨਾਸੇ ਮਿਟਿਆ ਸਗਲ ਵਿਸੂਰਾ ॥
bharam geaa bhai moh binaase mittiaa sagal visooraa |
My doubts have gone, my fears and infatuations have been dispelled, and all my sorrows are gone.
(ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰੋਂ) ਭਟਕਣਾ ਦੂਰ ਹੋ ਗਈ, ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰੋਂ ਮੋਹ ਅਤੇ ਹੋਰ ਸਾਰੇ ਡਰ ਨਾਸ ਹੋ ਗਏ, ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਸਾਰਾ ਚਿੰਤਾ-ਝੋਰਾ ਮੁੱਕ ਗਿਆ,
ਨਾਨਕ ਦਇਆ ਕਰੀ ਸੁਖਦਾਤੈ ਭੇਟਿਆ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਪੂਰਾ ॥੪॥੫॥੫੨॥
naanak deaa karee sukhadaatai bhettiaa satigur pooraa |4|5|52|
O Nanak, the Lord, the Giver of peace has been merciful to me. I have met the Perfect True Guru. ||4||5||52||
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਸੁਖ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੇ ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਉਤੇ ਦਇਆ ਕੀਤੀ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਪੂਰਾ ਗੁਰੂ ਮਿਲ ਪਿਆ ॥੪॥੫॥੫੨॥

ਜਬ ਕਛੁ ਨ ਸੀਓ ਤਬ ਕਿਆ ਕਰਤਾ ਕਵਨ ਕਰਮ ਕਰਿ ਆਇਆ ॥
jab kachh na seeo tab kiaa karataa kavan karam kar aaeaa |
When nothing existed, what deeds were being done? And what karma caused anyone to be born at all?
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਜਦੋਂ ਅਜੇ ਸੰਸਾਰ ਹੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਸੀ (ਇਹ ਜੀਵ ਭੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਸੀ, ਤਦੋਂ) ਇਹ ਜੀਵ ਕੀਹ ਕਰਦਾ ਸੀ? ਤੇ, ਕੇਹੜੇ ਕਰਮ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਇਹ ਹੋਂਦ ਵਿਚ ਆਇਆ ਹੈ?
ਅਪਨਾ ਖੇਲੁ ਆਪਿ ਕਰਿ ਦੇਖੈ ਠਾਕੁਰਿ ਰਚਨੁ ਰਚਾਇਆ ॥੧॥
apanaa khel aap kar dekhai tthaakur rachan rachaaeaa |1|
The Lord Himself set His play in motion, and He Himself beholds it. He created the Creation. ||1||
(ਅਸਲ ਗੱਲ ਇਹ ਕਿ) ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨੇ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਜਗਤ-ਰਚਨਾ ਰਚੀ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਆਪਣਾ ਇਹ ਜਗਤ-ਤਮਾਸ਼ਾ ਰਚ ਕੇ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਇਸ ਤਮਾਸ਼ੇ ਨੂੰ ਵੇਖ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ ॥੧॥
ਮੇਰੇ ਰਾਮ ਰਾਇ ਮੁਝ ਤੇ ਕਛੂ ਨ ਹੋਈ ॥
mere raam raae mujh te kachhoo na hoee |
O my Sovereign Lord, I cannot do anything at all by myself.
ਹੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ-ਪਾਤਿਸ਼ਾਹ! (ਤੇਰੀ ਪ੍ਰੇਰਨਾ ਸਹਾਇਤਾ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ) ਮੈਥੋਂ ਕੋਈ ਕੰਮ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੋ ਸਕਦਾ।
ਆਪੇ ਕਰਤਾ ਆਪਿ ਕਰਾਏ ਸਰਬ ਨਿਰੰਤਰਿ ਸੋਈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
aape karataa aap karaae sarab nirantar soee |1| rahaau |
He Himself is the Creator, He Himself is the Cause. He is pervading deep within all. ||1||Pause||
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਉਹ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਹੀ ਸਾਰੇ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਇਕ-ਰਸ ਵਿਆਪਕ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਆਪ ਹੀ (ਜੀਵਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਬੈਠ ਕੇ) ਸਭ ਕੁਝ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਆਪ ਹੀ (ਜੀਵਾਂ ਪਾਸੋਂ ਸਭ ਕੁਝ) ਕਰਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ਗਣਤੀ ਗਣੀ ਨ ਛੂਟੈ ਕਤਹੂ ਕਾਚੀ ਦੇਹ ਇਆਣੀ ॥
ganatee ganee na chhoottai katahoo kaachee deh eaanee |
If my account were to be judged, I would never be saved. My body is transitory and ignorant.
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਇਹ ਜੀਵ ਅੰਞਾਣ ਅਕਲ ਵਾਲਾ ਤੇ ਨਾਸਵੰਤ ਸਰੀਰ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ। ਜੇ ਇਸ ਦੇ ਕੀਤੇ ਕਰਮਾਂ ਦਾ ਲੇਖਾ ਗਿਣਿਆ ਗਿਆ, ਤਾਂ ਇਹ ਕਿਸੇ ਭੀ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਸੁਰਖ਼ਰੂ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੋ ਸਕਦਾ।
ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾ ਕਰਹੁ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕਰਣੈਹਾਰੇ ਤੇਰੀ ਬਖਸ ਨਿਰਾਲੀ ॥੨॥

Take pity upon me, O Creator Lord God Your Forgiving Grace is singular and unique. ||2||
ਹੇ ਸਭ ਕੁਝ ਕਰਨ ਦੇ ਸਮਰਥ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਤੂੰ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਮੇਹਰ ਕਰ (ਤੇ ਬਖ਼ਸ਼)। ਤੇਰੀ ਬਖ਼ਸ਼ਸ਼ ਵੱਖਰੀ ਹੀ ਕਿਸਮ ਦੀ ਹੈ ॥੨॥
ਜੀਅ ਜੰਤ ਸਭ ਤੇਰੇ ਕੀਤੇ ਘਟਿ ਘਟਿ ਤੁਹੀ ਧਿਆਈਐ ॥
jeea jant sabh tere keete ghatt ghatt tuhee dhiaaeeai |
You created all beings and creatures. Each and every heart meditates on You.
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! (ਜਗਤ ਦੇ) ਸਾਰੇ ਜੀਵ ਤੇਰੇ ਪੈਦਾ ਕੀਤੇ ਹੋਏ ਹਨ, ਹਰੇਕ ਸਰੀਰ ਵਿਚ ਤੇਰਾ ਹੀ ਧਿਆਨ ਧਰਿਆ ਜਾ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ।
ਤੇਰੀ ਗਤਿ ਮਿਤਿ ਤੂਹੈ ਜਾਣਹਿ ਕੁਦਰਤਿ ਕੀਮ ਨ ਪਾਈਐ ॥੩॥
teree gat mit toohai jaaneh kudarat keem na paaeeai |3|
Your condition and expanse are known only to You the value of Your creative omnipotence cannot be estimated. ||3||
ਤੂੰ ਕਿਹੋ ਜਿਹਾ ਹੈਂ, ਤੂੰ ਕੇਡਾ ਵੱਡਾ ਹੈਂ-ਇਹ ਭੇਤ ਤੂੰ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਜਾਣਦਾ ਹੈਂ। ਤੇਰੀ ਕੁਦਰਤਿ ਦਾ ਮੁੱਲ ਨਹੀਂ ਪੈ ਸਕਦਾ ॥੩॥
ਨਿਰਗੁਣੁ ਮੁਗਧੁ ਅਜਾਣੁ ਅਗਿਆਨੀ ਕਰਮ ਧਰਮ ਨਹੀ ਜਾਣਾ ॥
niragun mugadh ajaan agiaanee karam dharam nahee jaanaa |
I am worthless, foolish, thoughtless and ignorant. I know nothing about good actions and righteous living.
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਮੈਂ ਗੁਣ-ਹੀਨ ਹਾਂ, ਮੈਂ ਮੂਰਖ ਹਾਂ, ਮੈਂ ਬੇ-ਸਮਝ ਹਾਂ, ਮੈਨੂੰ ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਦੀ ਸੂਝ ਨਹੀਂ, ਮੈਂ ਕੋਈ ਧਾਰਮਿਕ ਕੰਮ ਕਰਨੇ ਭੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾਣਦਾ (ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਖ਼ੁਸ਼ ਕਰ ਸਕਾਂ)।
ਦਇਆ ਕਰਹੁ ਨਾਨਕੁ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਵੈ ਮਿਠਾ ਲਗੈ ਤੇਰਾ ਭਾਣਾ ॥੪॥੬॥੫੩॥
deaa karahu naanak gun gaavai mitthaa lagai teraa bhaanaa |4|6|53|
Take pity on Nanak, that he may sing Your Glorious Praises and that Your Will may seem sweet to him. ||4||6||53||
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਮੇਹਰ ਕਰ, (ਤੇਰਾ ਦਾਸ) ਨਾਨਕ ਤੇਰੇ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਂਦਾ ਰਹੇ, ਅਤੇ (ਨਾਨਕ ਨੂੰ) ਤੇਰੀ ਰਜ਼ਾ ਮਿੱਠੀ ਲੱਗਦੀ ਰਹੇ ॥੪॥੬॥੫੩॥
