ਮਗਰ ਪਾਛੈ ਕਛੁ ਨ ਸੂਝੈ ਏਹੁ ਪਦਮੁ ਅਲੋਅ ॥੨॥
magar paachhai kachh na soojhai ehu padam aloa |2|
But they cannot even see what is behind them. What a strange lotus pose this is! ||2||
ਪਰ ਆਪਣੀ ਹੀ ਪਿੱਠ ਪਿਛੇ ਪਈ ਕੋਈ ਚੀਜ਼ ਨਹੀਂ ਦਿੱਸਦੀ। ਇਹ ਅਸਚਰਜ ਪਦਮ ਆਸਨ ਹੈ ॥੨॥
ਖਤ੍ਰੀਆ ਤ ਧਰਮੁ ਛੋਡਿਆ ਮਲੇਛ ਭਾਖਿਆ ਗਹੀ ॥
khatreea ta dharam chhoddiaa malechh bhaakhiaa gahee |
The K'shatriyas have abandoned their religion, and have adopted a foreign language.
(ਆਪਣੇ ਆਪ ਨੂੰ ਹਿੰਦੂ ਧਰਮ ਦੇ ਰਾਖੇ ਸਮਝਣ ਵਾਲੇ) ਖਤ੍ਰੀਆਂ ਨੇ (ਆਪਣਾ ਇਹ) ਧਰਮ ਛੱਡ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ, ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਇਹ ਮੂੰਹੋਂ ਮਲੇਛ ਕਹਿ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ (ਰੋਜ਼ੀ ਦੀ ਖ਼ਾਤਰ) ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਬੋਲੀ ਗ੍ਰਹਣ ਕਰ ਚੁਕੇ ਹਨ।
ਸ੍ਰਿਸਟਿ ਸਭ ਇਕ ਵਰਨ ਹੋਈ ਧਰਮ ਕੀ ਗਤਿ ਰਹੀ ॥੩॥
srisatt sabh ik varan hoee dharam kee gat rahee |3|
The whole world has been reduced to the same social status the state of righteousness and Dharma has been lost. ||3||
(ਇਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ) ਧਰਮ ਦੀ ਮਰਯਾਦਾ ਮੁੱਕ ਚੁੱਕੀ ਹੈ, ਸਾਰੀ ਸ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਟੀ ਇਕੋ ਵਰਨ ਦੀ ਹੋ ਗਈ ਹੈ (ਇਕੋ ਅਧਰਮ ਹੀ ਅਧਰਮ ਪ੍ਰਧਾਨ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ) ॥੩॥
ਅਸਟ ਸਾਜ ਸਾਜਿ ਪੁਰਾਣ ਸੋਧਹਿ ਕਰਹਿ ਬੇਦ ਅਭਿਆਸੁ ॥
asatt saaj saaj puraan sodheh kareh bed abhiaas |
They analyze eight chapters of (Panini's) grammar and the Puraanas. They study the Vedas,
(ਬ੍ਰਾਹਮਣ ਲੋਕ) ਅਸ਼ਟਾਧਿਆਈ ਆਦਿਕ ਗ੍ਰੰਥ ਰਚ ਕੇ (ਉਹਨਾਂ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ) ਪੁਰਾਣਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਵਿਚਾਰਦੇ ਹਨ ਤੇ ਵੇਦਾਂ ਦਾ ਅਭਿਆਸ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ (ਬੱਸ! ਇਤਨੇ ਨੂੰ ਸ੍ਰੇਸ਼ਟ ਧਰਮ ਕਰਮ ਮੰਨੀ ਬੈਠੇ ਹਨ)।
ਬਿਨੁ ਨਾਮ ਹਰਿ ਕੇ ਮੁਕਤਿ ਨਾਹੀ ਕਹੈ ਨਾਨਕੁ ਦਾਸੁ ॥੪॥੧॥੬॥੮॥
bin naam har ke mukat naahee kahai naanak daas |4|1|6|8|
but without the Lord's Name, no one is liberated so says Nanak, the Lord's slave. ||4||1||6||8||
ਪਰ ਦਾਸ ਨਾਨਕ ਆਖਦਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਜਪਣ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ (ਵਿਕਾਰਾਂ ਤੋਂ) ਖ਼ਲਾਸੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੋ ਸਕਦੀ (ਇਸ ਵਾਸਤੇ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਹੀ ਸਭ ਤੋਂ ਸ੍ਰੇਸ਼ਟ ਧਰਮ-ਕਰਮ ਹੈ) ॥੪॥੧॥੬॥੮॥

ਅਕਾਲ ਪੁਰਖ ਇੱਕ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਨਾਲ ਮਿਲਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਗਗਨ ਮੈ ਥਾਲੁ ਰਵਿ ਚੰਦੁ ਦੀਪਕ ਬਨੇ ਤਾਰਿਕਾ ਮੰਡਲ ਜਨਕ ਮੋਤੀ ॥
gagan mai thaal rav chand deepak bane taarikaa manddal janak motee |
In the bowl of the sky, the sun and moon are the lamps the stars in the constellations are the pearls.
ਸਾਰਾ ਆਕਾਸ਼ (ਮਾਨੋ) ਥਾਲ ਹੈ, ਸੂਰਜ ਤੇ ਚੰਦ (ਇਸ ਥਾਲ ਵਿਚ) ਦੀਵੇ ਬਣੇ ਹੋਏ ਹਨ, ਤਾਰਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਸਮੂਹ, (ਥਾਲ ਵਿਚ) ਮੋਤੀ ਰੱਖੇ ਹੋਏ ਹਨ।
ਧੂਪੁ ਮਲਆਨਲੋ ਪਵਣੁ ਚਵਰੋ ਕਰੇ ਸਗਲ ਬਨਰਾਇ ਫੂਲੰਤ ਜੋਤੀ ॥੧॥
dhoop malaanalo pavan chavaro kare sagal banaraae foolant jotee |1|
The fragrance of sandalwood is the incense, the wind is the fan, and all the vegetation are flowers in offering to You, O Luminous Lord. ||1||
ਮਲਯ ਪਰਬਤ ਵਲੋਂ ਆਉਣ ਵਾਲੀ ਹਵਾ, ਮਾਨੋ, ਧੂਪ (ਧੁਖ ਰਿਹਾ) ਹੈ, ਹਵਾ ਚੌਰ ਕਰ ਰਹੀ ਹੈ, ਸਾਰੀ ਬਨਸਪਤੀ ਜੋਤਿ-ਰੂਪ (ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਆਰਤੀ) ਲਈ ਫੁੱਲ ਦੇ ਰਹੀ ਹੈ ॥੧॥
ਕੈਸੀ ਆਰਤੀ ਹੋਇ ਭਵ ਖੰਡਨਾ ਤੇਰੀ ਆਰਤੀ ॥
kaisee aaratee hoe bhav khanddanaa teree aaratee |
What a beautiful lamp-lit worship service this is! O Destroyer of fear, this is Your Aartee, Your worship service.
ਹੇ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਦੇ ਜਨਮ ਮਰਨ ਨਾਸ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ! (ਕੁਦਰਤਿ ਵਿਚ) ਤੇਰੀ ਕੈਸੀ ਸੁੰਦਰ ਆਰਤੀ ਹੋ ਰਹੀ ਹੈ!
ਅਨਹਤਾ ਸਬਦ ਵਾਜੰਤ ਭੇਰੀ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥

The sound current of the Shabad is the sounding of the temple drums. ||1||Pause||
(ਸਭ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਰੁਮਕ ਰਹੀ) ਇੱਕ-ਰਸ ਜੀਵਨ-ਰੌ, ਮਾਨੋ, ਤੇਰੀ ਆਰਤੀ ਵਾਸਤੇ ਨਗਾਰੇ ਵੱਜ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ਸਹਸ ਤਵ ਨੈਨ ਨਨ ਨੈਨ ਹੈ ਤੋਹਿ ਕਉ ਸਹਸ ਮੂਰਤਿ ਨਨਾ ਏਕ ਤੋਹੀ ॥
sehas tav nain nan nain hai tohi kau sehas moorat nanaa ek tohee |
Thousands are Your eyes, and yet You have no eyes. Thousands are Your forms, and yet You have not even one form.
(ਸਭ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਵਿਆਪਕ ਹੋਣ ਕਰ ਕੇ) ਹਜ਼ਾਰਾਂ ਤੇਰੀਆਂ ਅੱਖਾਂ ਹਨ (ਪਰ, ਨਿਰਾਕਾਰ ਹੋਣ ਕਰ ਕੇ, ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ!) ਤੇਰੀਆਂ ਕੋਈ ਅੱਖਾਂ ਨਹੀਂ। ਹਜ਼ਾਰਾਂ ਤੇਰੀਆਂ ਸ਼ਕਲਾਂ ਹਨ, ਪਰ ਤੇਰੀ ਕੋਈ ਭੀ ਸ਼ਕਲ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ।
ਸਹਸ ਪਦ ਬਿਮਲ ਨਨ ਏਕ ਪਦ ਗੰਧ ਬਿਨੁ ਸਹਸ ਤਵ ਗੰਧ ਇਵ ਚਲਤ ਮੋਹੀ ॥੨॥
sehas pad bimal nan ek pad gandh bin sehas tav gandh iv chalat mohee |2|
Thousands are Your lotus feet, and yet You have no feet. Without a nose, thousands are Your noses. I am enchanted with Your play! ||2||
ਹਜ਼ਾਰਾਂ ਤੇਰੇ ਸੋਹਣੇ ਪੈਰ ਹਨ, ਪਰ (ਨਿਰਾਕਾਰ ਹੋਣ ਕਰ ਕੇ) ਤੇਰਾ ਇੱਕ ਭੀ ਪੈਰ ਨਹੀਂ। ਹਜ਼ਾਰਾਂ ਤੇਰੇ ਨੱਕ ਹਨ, ਪਰ ਤੂੰ ਨੱਕ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ ਹੀ ਹੈਂ। ਤੇਰੇ ਅਜੇਹੇ ਕੌਤਕਾਂ ਨੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਹੈਰਾਨ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ ॥੨॥
ਸਭ ਮਹਿ ਜੋਤਿ ਜੋਤਿ ਹੈ ਸੋਇ ॥
sabh meh jot jot hai soe |
The Divine Light is within everyone You are that Light.
ਸਾਰੇ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਇਕੋ ਉਹੀ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਜੋਤਿ ਵਰਤ ਰਹੀ ਹੈ।
ਤਿਸ ਕੈ ਚਾਨਣਿ ਸਭ ਮਹਿ ਚਾਨਣੁ ਹੋਇ ॥
tis kai chaanan sabh meh chaanan hoe |
Yours is that Light which shines within everyone.
ਉਸ ਜੋਤਿ ਦੇ ਪਰਕਾਸ਼ ਨਾਲ ਸਾਰੇ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਚਾਨਣ (ਸੂਝ-ਬੂਝ) ਹੈ।
ਗੁਰ ਸਾਖੀ ਜੋਤਿ ਪਰਗਟੁ ਹੋਇ ॥
gur saakhee jot paragatt hoe |
By the Guru's Teachings, this Divine Light is revealed.
ਪਰ ਇਸ ਜੋਤਿ ਦਾ ਗਿਆਨ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸਿੱਖਿਆ ਨਾਲ ਹੀ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ (ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਇਹ ਸਮਝ ਪੈਂਦੀ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਹਰੇਕ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਜੋਤਿ ਹੈ)।
ਜੋ ਤਿਸੁ ਭਾਵੈ ਸੁ ਆਰਤੀ ਹੋਇ ॥੩॥
jo tis bhaavai su aaratee hoe |3|
That which pleases the Lord is the true worship service. ||3||
(ਇਸ ਸਰਬ-ਵਿਆਪਕ ਜੋਤਿ ਦੀ) ਆਰਤੀ ਇਹ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਜੋ ਕੁਝ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਰਜ਼ਾ ਵਿਚ ਹੋ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ ਉਹ ਜੀਵ ਨੂੰ ਚੰਗਾ ਲੱਗੇ (ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਰਜ਼ਾ ਵਿਚ ਤੁਰਨਾ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਆਰਤੀ ਕਰਨੀ ਹੈ) ॥੩॥
ਹਰਿ ਚਰਣ ਕਮਲ ਮਕਰੰਦ ਲੋਭਿਤ ਮਨੋ ਅਨਦਿਨੋ ਮੋਹਿ ਆਹੀ ਪਿਆਸਾ ॥
har charan kamal makarand lobhit mano anadino mohi aahee piaasaa |
My soul is enticed by the honey-sweet lotus feet of the Lord night and day, I thirst for them.
ਹੇ ਹਰੀ! ਤੇਰੇ ਚਰਨ-ਰੂਪ ਕੌਲ ਫੁੱਲਾਂ ਦੇ ਰਸ ਲਈ ਮੇਰਾ ਮਨ ਲਲਚਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਹਰ ਰੋਜ਼ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਇਸੇ ਰਸ ਦੀ ਪਿਆਸ ਲੱਗੀ ਹੋਈ ਹੈ।
ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾ ਜਲੁ ਦੇਹਿ ਨਾਨਕ ਸਾਰਿੰਗ ਕਉ ਹੋਇ ਜਾ ਤੇ ਤੇਰੈ ਨਾਮਿ ਵਾਸਾ ॥੪॥੧॥੭॥੯॥
kripaa jal dehi naanak saaring kau hoe jaa te terai naam vaasaa |4|1|7|9|
Bless Nanak, the thirsty song-bird, with the water of Your Mercy, that he may come to dwell in Your Name. ||4||1||7||9||
ਮੈਨੂੰ ਨਾਨਕ ਪਪੀਹੇ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੀ ਮੇਹਰ ਦਾ ਜਲ ਦੇਹ, ਜਿਸ (ਦੀ ਬਰਕਤਿ) ਨਾਲ ਮੈਂ ਤੇਰੇ ਨਾਮ ਵਿਚ ਟਿਕਿਆ ਰਹਾਂ ॥੪॥੧॥੭॥੯॥
ਧਨਾਸਰੀ ਮਹਲਾ ੩ ਘਰੁ ੨ ਚਉਪਦੇ ॥

ਰਾਗ ਧਨਾਸਰੀ, ਘਰ ੨ ਵਿੱਚ ਗੁਰੂ ਅਮਰਦਾਸ ਜੀ ਦੀ ਚਾਰ-ਬੰਦਾਂ ਵਾਲੀ ਬਾਣੀ।

This wealth is inexhaustible. It shall never be exhausted, and it shall never be lost.
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਇਹ ਨਾਮ-ਖ਼ਜ਼ਾਨਾ ਕਦੇ ਮੁੱਕਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਨਹੀਂ, ਨਾਹ ਇਹ (ਖ਼ਰਚਿਆਂ) ਮੁੱਕਦਾ ਹੈ, ਨਾਹ ਇਹ ਗਵਾਚਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਪੂਰੈ ਸਤਿਗੁਰਿ ਦੀਆ ਦਿਖਾਇ ॥

The Perfect True Guru has revealed it to me.
(ਇਸ ਧਨ ਦੀ ਇਹ ਸਿਫ਼ਤਿ ਮੈਨੂੰ) ਪੂਰੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਨੇ ਵਿਖਾ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਹੈ।
ਅਪੁਨੇ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਕਉ ਸਦ ਬਲਿ ਜਾਈ ॥
apune satigur kau sad bal jaaee |
I am forever a sacrifice to my True Guru.
(ਹੇ ਭਾਈ!) ਮੈਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਤੋਂ ਸਦਾ ਸਦਕੇ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹਾਂ,
ਗੁਰ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਤੇ ਹਰਿ ਮੰਨਿ ਵਸਾਈ ॥੧॥
gur kirapaa te har man vasaaee |1|
By Guru's Grace, I have enshrined the Lord within my mind. ||1||
ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਨਾਲ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ (ਦਾ ਨਾਮ-ਧਨ ਆਪਣੇ) ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਵਸਾਂਦਾ ਹਾਂ ॥੧॥
ਸੇ ਧਨਵੰਤ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮਿ ਲਿਵ ਲਾਇ ॥
se dhanavant har naam liv laae |
They alone are wealthy, who lovingly attune themselves to the Lord's Name.
(ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਉਹ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਵਿਚ ਸੁਰਤਿ ਜੋੜ ਕੇ (ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਦੇ) ਸ਼ਾਹ ਬਣ ਗਏ,
ਗੁਰਿ ਪੂਰੈ ਹਰਿ ਧਨੁ ਪਰਗਾਸਿਆ ਹਰਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਤੇ ਵਸੈ ਮਨਿ ਆਇ ॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
gur poorai har dhan paragaasiaa har kirapaa te vasai man aae | rahaau |
The Perfect Guru has revealed to me the Lord's treasure by the Lord's Grace, it has come to abide in my mind. ||Pause||
ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਮਨੁੱਖਾਂ ਦੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ) ਪੂਰੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਨੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਦਾ ਧਨ ਪਰਗਟ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ। ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਇਹ ਨਾਮ-ਧਨ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਨਾਲ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਆ ਕੇ ਵੱਸਦਾ ਹੈ ਰਹਾਉ॥
ਅਵਗੁਣ ਕਾਟਿ ਗੁਣ ਰਿਦੈ ਸਮਾਇ ॥
avagun kaatt gun ridai samaae |
He is rid of his demerits, and his heart is permeated with merit and virtue.
(ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਗੁਰੂ ਸਰਨ ਆਏ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੇ) ਔਗੁਣ ਦੂਰ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤ-ਸਾਲਾਹ (ਉਸ ਦੇ) ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਵਸਾ ਦੇਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਪੂਰੇ ਗੁਰ ਕੈ ਸਹਜਿ ਸੁਭਾਇ ॥
poore gur kai sehaj subhaae |
By Guru's Grace, he naturally dwells in celestial peace.
(ਇਸ ਬਾਣੀ ਦੀ ਬਰਕਤਿ ਨਾਲ) ਆਤਮਕ ਅਡੋਲਤਾ ਵਿਚ ਸਮਾਈ ਹੋਈ ਰਹਿੰਦੀ ਹੈ।
ਪੂਰੇ ਗੁਰ ਕੀ ਸਾਚੀ ਬਾਣੀ ॥
poore gur kee saachee baanee |
True is the Word of the Perfect Guru's Bani.
(ਹੇ ਭਾਈ!) ਪੂਰੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ (ਉਚਾਰੀ ਹੋਈ) ਸਦਾ-ਥਿਰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਵਾਲੀ ਬਾਣੀ-
ਸੁਖ ਮਨ ਅੰਤਰਿ ਸਹਜਿ ਸਮਾਣੀ ॥੨॥
sukh man antar sehaj samaanee |2|
They bring peace to the mind, and celestial peace is absorbed within. ||2||
(ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੇ) ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਆਤਮਕ ਹੁਲਾਰੇ ਪੈਦਾ ਕਰਦੀ ਹੈ ॥੨॥
ਏਕੁ ਅਚਰਜੁ ਜਨ ਦੇਖਹੁ ਭਾਈ ॥
ek acharaj jan dekhahu bhaaee |
O my humble Siblings of Destiny, behold this strange and wonderful thing:
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ ਜਨੋ! ਇਕ ਹੈਰਾਨ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਤਮਾਸ਼ਾ ਵੇਖੋ।
ਦੁਬਿਧਾ ਮਾਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਮੰਨਿ ਵਸਾਈ ॥
dubidhaa maar har man vasaaee |
duality is overcome, and the Lord dwells within his mind.
(ਗੁਰੂ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰੋਂ) ਤੇਰ-ਮੇਰ ਮਿਟਾ ਕੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ (ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਉਸ ਦੇ) ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਵਸਾ ਦੇਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਨਾਮੁ ਅਮੋਲਕੁ ਨ ਪਾਇਆ ਜਾਇ ॥
naam amolak na paaeaa jaae |
The Naam, the Name of the Lord, is priceless it cannot be taken.
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਅਮੋਲਕ ਹੈ, (ਕਿਸੇ ਭੀ ਦੁਨਿਆਵੀ ਕੀਮਤ ਨਾਲ) ਨਹੀਂ ਮਿਲ ਸਕਦਾ।
ਗੁਰ ਪਰਸਾਦਿ ਵਸੈ ਮਨਿ ਆਇ ॥੩॥
gur parasaad vasai man aae |3|
By Guru's Grace, it comes to abide in the mind. ||3||
(ਹਾਂ,) ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਨਾਲ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਆ ਵੱਸਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੩॥
ਸਭ ਮਹਿ ਵਸੈ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਏਕੋ ਸੋਇ ॥
sabh meh vasai prabh eko soe |
He is the One God, abiding within all.
(ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਭਾਵੇਂ) ਉਹ ਇੱਕ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਸਭ ਵਿਚ ਵੱਸਦਾ ਹੈ,
ਗੁਰਮਤੀ ਘਟਿ ਪਰਗਟੁ ਹੋਇ ॥
guramatee ghatt paragatt hoe |
Through the Guru's Teachings, He is revealed in the heart.
(ਪਰ) ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਮਤਿ ਉਤੇ ਤੁਰਿਆਂ ਹੀ (ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੇ) ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਪਰਗਟ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਸਹਜੇ ਜਿਨਿ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਜਾਣਿ ਪਛਾਣਿਆ ॥
sahaje jin prabh jaan pachhaaniaa |
One who intuitively knows and realizes God,
ਆਤਮਕ ਅਡੋਲਤਾ ਵਿਚ ਟਿਕ ਕੇ ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨਾਲ ਡੂੰਘੀ ਸਾਂਝ ਪਾ ਕੇ (ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਵੱਸਦਾ) ਪਛਾਣ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ,
