ਵਿਣੁ ਨਾਵੈ ਸਭਿ ਭਰਮਦੇ ਨਿਤ ਜਗਿ ਤੋਟਾ ਸੈਸਾਰਿ ॥
vin naavai sabh bharamade nit jag tottaa saisaar |
Without the Name of the Lord, everyone wanders around the world, losing.
ਨਾਮ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ ਸਾਰੇ ਲੋਕ ਭਟਕਦੇ ਫਿਰਦੇ ਹਨ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸੰਸਾਰ ਵਿਚ ਸਦਾ ਘਾਟਾ ਹੀ ਘਾਟਾ ਹੈ
ਮਨਮੁਖਿ ਕਰਮ ਕਮਾਵਣੇ ਹਉਮੈ ਅੰਧੁ ਗੁਬਾਰੁ ॥
manamukh karam kamaavane haumai andh gubaar |
The self-willed manmukhs do their deeds in the pitch black darkness of egotism.
ਮਨਮੁਖ ਤਾਂ ਹਉਮੈ ਦੇ ਆਸਰੇ ਉਹ ਕਰਮ ਕਮਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ ਜੋ ਘੁੱਪ ਹਨੇਰਾ ਪੈਦਾ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ।
ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤੁ ਪੀਵਣਾ ਨਾਨਕ ਸਬਦੁ ਵੀਚਾਰਿ ॥੧॥

The Gurmukhs drink in the Ambrosial Nectar, O Nanak, contemplating the Word of the Shabad. ||1||
ਪਰ ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਸਨਮੁਖ ਜੀਵ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਨੂੰ ਵਿਚਾਰ ਕੇ ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਨਾਮ-ਜਲ ਪੀਂਦੇ ਹਨ ॥੧॥

Third Mehl:
ਸਹਜੇ ਜਾਗੈ ਸਹਜੇ ਸੋਵੈ ॥
sahaje jaagai sahaje sovai |
He wakes in peace, and he sleeps in peace.
ਜੋ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਸਨਮੁਖ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ ਉਹ ਆਤਮਕ ਅਡੋਲਤਾ ਵਿਚ ਹੀ ਜਾਗਦਾ ਹੈ ਤੇ ਆਤਮਕ ਅਡੋਲਤਾ ਵਿਚ ਹੀ ਸੌਂਦਾ ਹੈ (ਭਾਵ, ਜਾਗਦਿਆਂ ਹਰੀ ਵਿਚ ਲੀਨ ਤੇ ਸੁੱਤਿਆਂ ਹਰੀ ਵਿਚ ਲੀਨ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ।)
ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਅਨਦਿਨੁ ਉਸਤਤਿ ਹੋਵੈ ॥

The Gurmukh praises the Lord night and day.
ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਹਰ ਰੋਜ਼ (ਭਾਵ, ਹਰ ਵੇਲੇ) ਹਰੀ ਦੀ ਉਸਤਤਿ (ਦਾ ਹੀ ਆਹਰ ਹੁੰਦਾ) ਹੈ।
ਮਨਮੁਖ ਭਰਮੈ ਸਹਸਾ ਹੋਵੈ ॥
manamukh bharamai sahasaa hovai |
The self-willed manmukh remains deluded by his doubts.
ਮਨਮੁਖ ਭਟਕਦਾ ਹੈ, ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਸਦਾ ਤੌਖ਼ਲਾ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ
ਅੰਤਰਿ ਚਿੰਤਾ ਨੀਦ ਨ ਸੋਵੈ ॥
antar chintaa need na sovai |
He is filled with anxiety, and he cannot even sleep.
ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਚਿੰਤਾ ਹੋਣ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਉਹ (ਸੁਖ ਦੀ) ਨੀਂਦਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਸੌਂਦਾ।
ਗਿਆਨੀ ਜਾਗਹਿ ਸਵਹਿ ਸੁਭਾਇ ॥

The spiritually wise wake and sleep in peace.
ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨਾਲ ਡੂੰਘੀ ਸਾਂਝ ਰੱਖਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਬੰਦੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਪਿਆਰ ਵਿਚ ਹੀ ਜਾਗਦੇ ਸੌਂਦੇ ਹਨ (ਭਾਵ, ਜਾਗਦੇ ਤੇ ਸੁੱਤੇ ਹੋਏ ਇਕ-ਰਸ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ)।
ਨਾਨਕ ਨਾਮਿ ਰਤਿਆ ਬਲਿ ਜਾਉ ॥੨॥

Nanak is a sacrifice to those who are imbued with the Naam, the Name of the Lord. ||2||
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਮੈਂ ਨਾਮ ਵਿਚ ਰੰਗੇ ਹੋਇਆਂ ਤੋਂ ਸਦਕੇ ਹਾਂ ॥੨॥

ਸੇ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਧਿਆਵਹਿ ਜੋ ਹਰਿ ਰਤਿਆ ॥
se har naam dhiaaveh jo har ratiaa |
They alone meditate on the Lord's Name, who are imbued with the Lord.
ਜੋ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਹਰੀ ਵਿਚ ਰੱਤੇ ਹੋਏ ਹਨ, ਉਹ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਸਿਮਰਦੇ ਹਨ।
ਹਰਿ ਇਕੁ ਧਿਆਵਹਿ ਇਕੁ ਇਕੋ ਹਰਿ ਸਤਿਆ ॥
har ik dhiaaveh ik iko har satiaa |
They meditate on the One Lord the One and Only Lord is True.
ਉਸ ਇੱਕ ਹਰੀ ਨੂੰ ਧਿਆਉਂਦੇ ਹਨ, ਜੋ ਸਦਾ ਕਾਇਮ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ
ਹਰਿ ਇਕੋ ਵਰਤੈ ਇਕੁ ਇਕੋ ਉਤਪਤਿਆ ॥
har iko varatai ik iko utapatiaa |
The One Lord is pervading everywhere the One Lord created the Universe.
ਜੋ ਇੱਕ ਆਪ ਹਰ ਥਾਂ ਵਿਆਪਕ ਹੈ ਤੇ ਜਿਸ ਇਕ ਨੇ ਹੀ (ਸਾਰੀ ਸ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਟੀ) ਪੈਦਾ ਕੀਤੀ ਹੈ।
ਜੋ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਧਿਆਵਹਿ ਤਿਨ ਡਰੁ ਸਟਿ ਘਤਿਆ ॥
jo har naam dhiaaveh tin ddar satt ghatiaa |
Those who meditate on the Lord's Name, cast out their fears.
ਜੋ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨਾਮ ਸਿਮਰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੇ ਸਾਰਾ ਡਰ ਦੂਰ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ।
ਗੁਰਮਤੀ ਦੇਵੈ ਆਪਿ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਹਰਿ ਜਪਿਆ ॥੯॥
guramatee devai aap guramukh har japiaa |9|
The Lord Himself blesses them with Guru's Instruction the Gurmukh meditates on the Lord. ||9||
ਪਰ ਉਹੀ ਗੁਰਮੁਖ ਨਾਮ ਸਿਮਰਦਾ ਹੈ ਜਿਸਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਆਪ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਮਤਿ ਦੀ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਇਹ ਦਾਤਿ ਦੇਂਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੯॥

Salok, Third Mehl:
ਅੰਤਰਿ ਗਿਆਨੁ ਨ ਆਇਓ ਜਿਤੁ ਕਿਛੁ ਸੋਝੀ ਪਾਇ ॥
antar giaan na aaeo jit kichh sojhee paae |
Spiritual wisdom, which would bring understanding, does not enter into his mind.
ਜਿਸ ਗਿਆਨ ਨਾਲ ਕੁਝ ਸਮਝ ਪੈਣੀ ਸੀ ਉਹ ਗਿਆਨ ਤਾਂ ਅੰਦਰ ਪਰਗਟ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੋਇਆ,
ਵਿਣੁ ਡਿਠਾ ਕਿਆ ਸਾਲਾਹੀਐ ਅੰਧਾ ਅੰਧੁ ਕਮਾਇ ॥
vin dditthaa kiaa saalaaheeai andhaa andh kamaae |
Without seeing, how can he praise the Lord? The blind act in blindness.
ਫਿਰ ਜਿਸ (ਹਰੀ) ਨੂੰ ਵੇਖਿਆ ਨਹੀਂ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਉਸਤਤਿ ਕਿਵੇਂ ਹੋ ਸਕੇ? ਗਿਆਨ-ਹੀਨ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਅਗਿਆਨਤਾ ਦੀ ਕਮਾਈ ਹੀ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਨਾਨਕ ਸਬਦੁ ਪਛਾਣੀਐ ਨਾਮੁ ਵਸੈ ਮਨਿ ਆਇ ॥੧॥
naanak sabad pachhaaneeai naam vasai man aae |1|
O Nanak, when one realizes the Word of the Shabad, then the Naam comes to abide in the mind. ||1||
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਜੇ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਨੂੰ ਪਛਾਣੀਏ ਤਾਂ ਹਰੀ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਆ ਵੱਸਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੧॥

ਇਕਾ ਬਾਣੀ ਇਕੁ ਗੁਰੁ ਇਕੋ ਸਬਦੁ ਵੀਚਾਰਿ ॥
eikaa baanee ik gur iko sabad veechaar |
There is One Bani there is One Guru there is one Shabad to contemplate.
ਕੇਵਲ ਬਾਣੀ ਹੀ ਪ੍ਰਮਾਣੀਕ ਗੁਰੂ ਹੈ, ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਨੂੰ ਹੀ ਵਿਚਾਰੋ-
ਸਚਾ ਸਉਦਾ ਹਟੁ ਸਚੁ ਰਤਨੀ ਭਰੇ ਭੰਡਾਰ ॥
sachaa saudaa hatt sach ratanee bhare bhanddaar |
True is the merchandise, and true is the shop the warehouses are overflowing with jewels.
ਇਹੀ ਸਦਾ-ਥਿਰ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਸੌਦਾ ਹੈ, ਇਹੀ ਸੱਚਾ ਹੱਟ ਹੈ ਜਿਸ ਵਿਚ ਰਤਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਭੰਡਾਰੇ ਭਰੇ ਪਏ ਹਨ।
ਗੁਰ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਤੇ ਪਾਈਅਨਿ ਜੇ ਦੇਵੈ ਦੇਵਣਹਾਰੁ ॥
gur kirapaa te paaeean je devai devanahaar |
By Guru's Grace, they are obtained, if the Great Giver gives them.
ਜੇ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲਾ (ਹਰੀ) ਦੇਵੇ ਤਾਂ (ਇਹ ਖ਼ਜ਼ਾਨੇ) ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਨਾਲ ਮਿਲਦੇ ਹਨ।
ਸਚਾ ਸਉਦਾ ਲਾਭੁ ਸਦਾ ਖਟਿਆ ਨਾਮੁ ਅਪਾਰੁ ॥
sachaa saudaa laabh sadaa khattiaa naam apaar |
Dealing in this true merchandise, one earns the profit of the incomparable Naam.
ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੇ ਇਹ ਸੱਚਾ ਸੌਦਾ (ਕਰ ਕੇ) ਬੇਅੰਤ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਲਾਭ ਖੱਟਿਆ ਹੈ,
ਵਿਖੁ ਵਿਚਿ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤੁ ਪ੍ਰਗਟਿਆ ਕਰਮਿ ਪੀਆਵਣਹਾਰੁ ॥
vikh vich amrit pragattiaa karam peeaavanahaar |
In the midst of poison, the Ambrosial Nectar is revealed by His Mercy, one drinks it in.
ਉਸ ਨੂੰ (ਮਾਇਆ) ਜ਼ਹਿਰ ਵਿਚ ਵਰਤਦਿਆਂ ਹੀ ਨਾਮ-ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਮਿਲ ਪੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਪਰ ਇਹ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਪਿਲਾਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਆਪਣੀ ਮੇਹਰ ਨਾਲ ਹੀ ਪਿਲਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਨਾਨਕ ਸਚੁ ਸਲਾਹੀਐ ਧੰਨੁ ਸਵਾਰਣਹਾਰੁ ॥੨॥
naanak sach salaaheeai dhan savaaranahaar |2|
O Nanak, praise the True Lord blessed is the Creator, the Embellisher. ||2||
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਉਸ ਸਲਾਹੁਣ-ਜੋਗ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨੂੰ ਸਿਮਰੀਏ ਜੋ (ਜੀਵਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਨਾਮ ਦੀ ਦਾਤਿ ਦੇ ਕੇ) ਸਵਾਰਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੨॥

ਜਿਨਾ ਅੰਦਰਿ ਕੂੜੁ ਵਰਤੈ ਸਚੁ ਨ ਭਾਵਈ ॥
jinaa andar koorr varatai sach na bhaavee |
Those who are permeated by falsehood, do not love the Truth.
ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਕੂੜ ਵਰਤਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸੱਚ ਚੰਗਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਲੱਗਦਾ
ਜੇ ਕੋ ਬੋਲੈ ਸਚੁ ਕੂੜਾ ਜਲਿ ਜਾਵਈ ॥
je ko bolai sach koorraa jal jaavee |
If someone speaks the Truth, falsehood is burnt away.
ਜੇ ਕੋਈ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਸੱਚ ਬੋਲੇ, ਤਾਂ ਝੂਠਾ (ਸੁਣ ਕੇ) ਸੜ ਬਲ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ
ਕੂੜਿਆਰੀ ਰਜੈ ਕੂੜਿ ਜਿਉ ਵਿਸਟਾ ਕਾਗੁ ਖਾਵਈ ॥
koorriaaree rajai koorr jiau visattaa kaag khaavee |
The false are satisfied by falsehood, like the crows who eat manure.
ਝੂਠ ਦਾ ਵਪਾਰੀ ਝੂਠ ਵਿਚ ਹੀ ਪ੍ਰਸੰਨ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਜਿਵੇਂ ਕਾਂ ਵਿਸ਼ਟਾ ਖਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ (ਤੇ ਪ੍ਰਸੰਨ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ)।
ਜਿਸੁ ਹਰਿ ਹੋਇ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾਲੁ ਸੋ ਨਾਮੁ ਧਿਆਵਈ ॥
jis har hoe kripaal so naam dhiaavee |
When the Lord grants His Grace, then one meditates on the Naam, the Name of the Lord.
ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਤੇ ਹਰੀ ਦਇਆਲ ਹੋਵੇ, ਉਹ ਨਾਮ ਜਪਦਾ ਹੈ
ਹਰਿ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਅਰਾਧਿ ਕੂੜੁ ਪਾਪੁ ਲਹਿ ਜਾਵਈ ॥੧੦॥
har guramukh naam araadh koorr paap leh jaavee |10|
As Gurmukh, worship the Lord's Name in adoration fraud and sin shall disappear. ||10||
ਜੇ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਸਨਮੁਖ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਹਰੀ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਅਰਾਧੀਏ, ਤਾਂ ਕੂੜ ਤੇ ਪਾਪ ਲਹਿ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੧੦॥

ਸੇਖਾ ਚਉਚਕਿਆ ਚਉਵਾਇਆ ਏਹੁ ਮਨੁ ਇਕਤੁ ਘਰਿ ਆਣਿ ॥
sekhaa chauchakiaa chauvaaeaa ehu man ikat ghar aan |
O Shaykh, you wander in the four directions, blown by the four winds bring your mind back to the home of the One Lord.
ਹੇ ਚੁੱਕੇ ਚੁਕਾਏ ਸ਼ੇਖ਼! ਇਸ ਮਨ ਨੂੰ ਇਕ ਟਿਕਾਣੇ ਤੇ ਲਿਆ
ਏਹੜ ਤੇਹੜ ਛਡਿ ਤੂ ਗੁਰ ਕਾ ਸਬਦੁ ਪਛਾਣੁ ॥
eeharr teharr chhadd too gur kaa sabad pachhaan |
Renounce your petty arguments, and realize the Word of the Guru's Shabad.
ਵਿੰਗੀਆਂ ਟੇਢੀਆਂ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਛੱਡ ਤੇ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਨੂੰ ਸਮਝ।
ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਅਗੈ ਢਹਿ ਪਉ ਸਭੁ ਕਿਛੁ ਜਾਣੈ ਜਾਣੁ ॥
satigur agai dteh pau sabh kichh jaanai jaan |
Bow in humble respect before the True Guru He is the Knower who knows everything.
ਹੇ ਸ਼ੇਖਾ! ਜੋ (ਸਭ ਦਾ) ਜਾਣੂ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਸਭ ਕੁਝ ਸਮਝਦਾ ਹੈ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਚਰਨੀਂ ਲੱਗ
ਆਸਾ ਮਨਸਾ ਜਲਾਇ ਤੂ ਹੋਇ ਰਹੁ ਮਿਹਮਾਣੁ ॥
aasaa manasaa jalaae too hoe rahu mihamaan |
Burn away your hopes and desires, and live like a guest in this world.
ਆਸਾਂ ਤੇ ਮਨ ਦੀਆਂ ਦੌੜਾਂ ਮਿਟਾ ਕੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਆਪ ਨੂੰ ਜਗਤ ਵਿਚ ਪਰਾਹੁਣਾ ਸਮਝ
ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਕੈ ਭਾਣੈ ਭੀ ਚਲਹਿ ਤਾ ਦਰਗਹ ਪਾਵਹਿ ਮਾਣੁ ॥
satigur kai bhaanai bhee chaleh taa daragah paaveh maan |
If you walk in harmony with the True Guru's Will, then you shall be honored in the Court of the Lord.
ਜੇ ਤੂੰ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਭਾਣੇ ਵਿਚ ਚਲੇਂਗਾ ਤਾਂ ਰੱਬ ਦੀ ਦਰਗਾਹ ਵਿਚ ਆਦਰ ਪਾਵੇਂਗਾ।
ਨਾਨਕ ਜਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਨ ਚੇਤਨੀ ਤਿਨ ਧਿਗੁ ਪੈਨਣੁ ਧਿਗੁ ਖਾਣੁ ॥੧॥
naanak ji naam na chetanee tin dhig painan dhig khaan |1|
O Nanak, those who do not contemplate the Naam, the Name of the Lord - cursed are their clothes, and cursed is their food. ||1||
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਜੋ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨਾਮ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਿਮਰਦੇ, ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦਾ (ਚੰਗਾ) ਖਾਣਾ ਤੇ (ਚੰਗਾ) ਪਹਿਨਣਾ ਫਿਟਕਾਰ-ਜੋਗ ਹੈ ॥੧॥

ਹਰਿ ਗੁਣ ਤੋਟਿ ਨ ਆਵਈ ਕੀਮਤਿ ਕਹਣੁ ਨ ਜਾਇ ॥
har gun tott na aavee keemat kehan na jaae |
There is no end to the Lord's Glorious Praises His worth cannot be described.
ਹਰੀ ਦੇ ਗੁਣ ਬਿਆਨ ਕਰਦਿਆਂ ਉਹ ਗੁਣ ਮੁੱਕਦੇ ਨਹੀਂ, ਤੇ ਨਾਹ ਹੀ ਇਹ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਜਾ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਇਹਨਾਂ ਗੁਣਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਵਿਹਾਝਣ ਲਈ ਮੁੱਲ ਕੀਹ ਹੈ
ਨਾਨਕ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਹਰਿ ਗੁਣ ਰਵਹਿ ਗੁਣ ਮਹਿ ਰਹੈ ਸਮਾਇ ॥੨॥
naanak guramukh har gun raveh gun meh rahai samaae |2|
O Nanak, the Gurmukhs chant the Glorious Praises of the Lord they are absorbed in His Glorious Virtues. ||2||
(ਪਰ,) ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਗੁਰਮੁਖ ਜੀਊੜੇ ਹਰੀ ਦੇ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਉਂਦੇ ਹਨ। (ਜਿਹੜਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਉਹ) ਗੁਣਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਲੀਨ ਹੋਇਆ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੨॥

ਹਰਿ ਚੋਲੀ ਦੇਹ ਸਵਾਰੀ ਕਢਿ ਪੈਧੀ ਭਗਤਿ ਕਰਿ ॥
har cholee deh savaaree kadt paidhee bhagat kar |
The Lord has adorned the coat of the body He has embroidered it with devotional worship.
(ਇਹ ਮਨੁੱਖਾ) ਸਰੀਰ, ਮਾਨੋ, ਚੋਲੀ ਹੈ ਜੋ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੇ ਬਣਾਈ ਹੈ ਤੇ ਭਗਤੀ (-ਰੂਪ ਕਸੀਦਾ) ਕੱਢ ਕੇ ਇਹ ਚੋਲੀ ਪਹਿਨਣ-ਜੋਗ ਬਣਦੀ ਹੈ।
ਹਰਿ ਪਾਟੁ ਲਗਾ ਅਧਿਕਾਈ ਬਹੁ ਬਹੁ ਬਿਧਿ ਭਾਤਿ ਕਰਿ ॥
har paatt lagaa adhikaaee bahu bahu bidh bhaat kar |
The Lord has woven His silk into it, in so many ways and fashions.
(ਇਸ ਚੋਲੀ ਨੂੰ) ਬਹੁਤ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਕਈ ਵੰਨਗੀਆਂ ਦਾ ਹਰੀ-ਨਾਮ ਪੱਟ ਲੱਗਾ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ
ਕੋਈ ਬੂਝੈ ਬੂਝਣਹਾਰਾ ਅੰਤਰਿ ਬਿਬੇਕੁ ਕਰਿ ॥
koee boojhai boojhanahaaraa antar bibek kar |
How rare is that man of understanding, who understands, and deliberates within.
(ਇਸ ਭੇਤ ਨੂੰ) ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਵਿਚਾਰ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਕੋਈ ਵਿਰਲਾ ਸਮਝਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਸਮਝਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਸੋ ਬੂਝੈ ਏਹੁ ਬਿਬੇਕੁ ਜਿਸੁ ਬੁਝਾਏ ਆਪਿ ਹਰਿ ॥
so boojhai ehu bibek jis bujhaae aap har |
He alone understands these deliberations, whom the Lord Himself inspires to understand.
ਇਸ ਵਿਚਾਰ ਨੂੰ ਉਹ ਸਮਝਦਾ ਹੈ, ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਹਰੀ ਆਪ ਸਮਝਾਵੇ।
ਜਨੁ ਨਾਨਕੁ ਕਹੈ ਵਿਚਾਰਾ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਹਰਿ ਸਤਿ ਹਰਿ ॥੧੧॥
jan naanak kahai vichaaraa guramukh har sat har |11|
Poor servant Nanak speaks: the Gurmukhs know the Lord, the Lord is True. ||11||
ਦਾਸ ਨਾਨਕ ਇਹ ਵਿਚਾਰ ਦੱਸਦਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਸਦਾ-ਥਿਰ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਹਰੀ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਰਾਹੀਂ (ਸਿਮਰਿਆ ਜਾ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ) ॥੧੧॥
