ਸਭ ਜੀਅ ਤੇਰੇ ਦਇਆਲਾ ॥
sabh jeea tere deaalaa |
All beings are Yours, O Merciful Lord.
ਹੇ ਦਇਆ ਦੇ ਘਰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਸਾਰੇ ਜੀਵ ਤੇਰੇ ਪੈਦਾ ਕੀਤੇ ਹੋਏ ਹਨ,
ਅਪਨੇ ਭਗਤ ਕਰਹਿ ਪ੍ਰਤਿਪਾਲਾ ॥
apane bhagat kareh pratipaalaa |
You cherish Your devotees.
ਤੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਭਗਤਾਂ ਦੀ ਰਖਵਾਲੀ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈਂ।
ਅਚਰਜੁ ਤੇਰੀ ਵਡਿਆਈ ॥

Your glorious greatness is wonderful and marvellous.
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਤੂੰ ਅਸਚਰਜ-ਸਰੂਪ ਹੈਂ। ਤੇਰੀ ਬਖ਼ਸ਼ਸ਼ ਭੀ ਹੈਰਾਨ ਕਰ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲੀ ਹੈ।
ਨਿਤ ਨਾਨਕ ਨਾਮੁ ਧਿਆਈ ॥੨॥੨੩॥੮੭॥

Nanak ever meditates on the Naam, the Name of the Lord. ||2||23||87||
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! (ਆਖ-ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਉਤੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਬਖ਼ਸ਼ਸ਼ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ) ਸਦਾ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਸਿਮਰਦਾ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੨॥੨੩॥੮੭॥

ਨਾਲਿ ਨਰਾਇਣੁ ਮੇਰੈ ॥

The Lord is always with me.
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਮੇਰੇ ਨਾਲ (ਮੇਰੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਵੱਸ ਰਿਹਾ) ਹੈ।
ਜਮਦੂਤੁ ਨ ਆਵੈ ਨੇਰੈ ॥
jamadoot na aavai nerai |
The Messenger of Death does not approach me.
(ਉਸ ਦੀ ਬਰਕਤਿ ਨਾਲ) ਜਮਦੂਤ ਮੇਰੇ ਨੇੜੇ ਨਹੀਂ ਢੁੱਕਦਾ (ਮੈਨੂੰ ਮੌਤ ਦਾ, ਆਤਮਕ ਮੌਤ ਦਾ ਖ਼ਤਰਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਰਿਹਾ)।
ਕੰਠਿ ਲਾਇ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਰਾਖੈ ॥

God holds me close in His embrace, and protects me.
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਉਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਗਲ ਨਾਲ ਲਾ ਰੱਖਦਾ ਹੈ,
ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਕੀ ਸਚੁ ਸਾਖੈ ॥੧॥
satigur kee sach saakhai |1|
True are the Teachings of the True Guru. ||1||
ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸਦਾ-ਥਿਰ ਹਰਿ-ਨਾਮ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਦੀ ਸਿੱਖਿਆ ਮਿਲ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ ॥੧॥
ਗੁਰਿ ਪੂਰੈ ਪੂਰੀ ਕੀਤੀ ॥

The Perfect Guru has done it perfectly.
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੂੰ ਪੂਰੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਨੇ (ਜੀਵਨ ਵਿਚ) ਸਫਲਤਾ ਬਖ਼ਸ਼ੀ,
ਦੁਸਮਨ ਮਾਰਿ ਵਿਡਾਰੇ ਸਗਲੇ ਦਾਸ ਕਉ ਸੁਮਤਿ ਦੀਤੀ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
dusaman maar viddaare sagale daas kau sumat deetee |1| rahaau |
He has beaten and driven off my enemies, and given me, His slave, the sublime understanding of the neutral mind. ||1||Pause||
ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੇ (ਕਾਮਾਦਿਕ ਉਸ ਦੇ) ਸਾਰੇ ਹੀ ਵੈਰੀ ਮਾਰ ਮੁਕਾਏ ਤੇ, ਉਸ ਸੇਵਕ ਨੂੰ (ਨਾਮ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਦੀ) ਸ੍ਰੇਸ਼ਟ ਅਕਲ ਦੇ ਦਿੱਤੀ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ਪ੍ਰਭਿ ਸਗਲੇ ਥਾਨ ਵਸਾਏ ॥

God has blessed all places with prosperity.
(ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਮਨੁੱਖਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਗੁਰੂ ਨੇ ਜੀਵਨ-ਸਫਲਤਾ ਬਖ਼ਸ਼ੀ) ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੇ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਗਿਆਨ-ਇੰਦ੍ਰੇ ਆਤਮਕ ਗੁਣਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਭਰਪੂਰ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤੇ,
ਸੁਖਿ ਸਾਂਦਿ ਫਿਰਿ ਆਏ ॥
sukh saand fir aae |
I have returned again safe and sound.
ਉਹ ਮਨੁੱਖ (ਕਾਮਾਦਿਕ ਵਲੋਂ) ਪਰਤ ਕੇ ਆਤਮਕ ਆਨੰਦ ਵਿਚ ਆ ਟਿਕੇ।
ਨਾਨਕ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਸਰਣਾਏ ॥

Nanak has entered God's Sanctuary.
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਉਸ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਸ਼ਰਨ ਪਿਆ ਰਹੁ,
ਜਿਨਿ ਸਗਲੇ ਰੋਗ ਮਿਟਾਏ ॥੨॥੨੪॥੮੮॥

It has eradicated all disease. ||2||24||88||
ਜਿਸ ਨੇ (ਸ਼ਰਨ ਪਿਆਂ ਦੇ) ਸਾਰੇ ਰੋਗ ਦੂਰ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤੇ ॥੨॥੨੪॥੮੮॥

Sorat'h, Fifth Mehl:
ਸਰਬ ਸੁਖਾ ਕਾ ਦਾਤਾ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਤਾ ਕੀ ਸਰਨੀ ਪਾਈਐ ॥
sarab sukhaa kaa daataa satigur taa kee saranee paaeeai |
The True Guru is the Giver of all peace and comfort - seek His Sanctuary.
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਗੁਰੂ ਸਾਰੇ ਸੁਖਾਂ ਦਾ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ, ਉਸ (ਗੁਰੂ) ਦੀ ਸ਼ਰਨ ਪੈਣਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਦਰਸਨੁ ਭੇਟਤ ਹੋਤ ਅਨੰਦਾ ਦੂਖੁ ਗਇਆ ਹਰਿ ਗਾਈਐ ॥੧॥
darasan bhettat hot anandaa dookh geaa har gaaeeai |1|
Beholding the Blessed Vision of His Darshan, bliss ensues, pain is dispelled, and one sings the Lord's Praises. ||1||
ਗੁਰੂ ਦਾ ਦਰਸ਼ਨ ਕੀਤਿਆਂ ਆਤਮਕ ਆਨੰਦ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਹਰੇਕ ਦੁੱਖ ਦੂਰ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, (ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸ਼ਰਨ ਪੈ ਕੇ) ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਕਰਨੀ ਚਾਹੀਦੀ ਹੈ ॥੧॥
ਹਰਿ ਰਸੁ ਪੀਵਹੁ ਭਾਈ ॥
har ras peevahu bhaaee |
Drink in the sublime essence of the Lord, O Siblings of Destiny.
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਪੂਰੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸਰਨ ਪੈ ਕੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਜਪਿਆ ਕਰੋ,
ਨਾਮੁ ਜਪਹੁ ਨਾਮੋ ਆਰਾਧਹੁ ਗੁਰ ਪੂਰੇ ਕੀ ਸਰਨਾਈ ॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
naam japahu naamo aaraadhahu gur poore kee saranaaee | rahaau |
Chant the Naam, the Name of the Lord worship the Naam in adoration, and enter the Sanctuary of the Perfect Guru. ||Pause||
ਹਰ ਵੇਲੇ ਨਾਮ ਹੀ ਸਿਮਰਿਆ ਕਰੋ, ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ-ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਪੀਂਦੇ ਰਿਹਾ ਕਰੋ ਰਹਾਉ॥
ਤਿਸਹਿ ਪਰਾਪਤਿ ਜਿਸੁ ਧੁਰਿ ਲਿਖਿਆ ਸੋਈ ਪੂਰਨੁ ਭਾਈ ॥
tiseh paraapat jis dhur likhiaa soee pooran bhaaee |
Only one who has such pre-ordained destiny receives it he alone becomes perfect, O Siblings of Destiny.
ਪਰ, ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! (ਇਹ ਨਾਮ ਦੀ ਦਾਤਿ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਦਰ ਤੋਂ) ਉਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੂੰ ਹੀ ਮਿਲਦੀ ਹੈ ਜਿਸ ਦੀ ਕਿਸਮਤਿ ਵਿਚ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਹਜ਼ੂਰੀ ਤੋਂ ਇਸ ਦੀ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤੀ ਲਿਖੀ ਹੁੰਦੀ ਹੈ। ਉਹ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਸਾਰੇ ਗੁਣਾਂ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਨਾਨਕ ਕੀ ਬੇਨੰਤੀ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਜੀ ਨਾਮਿ ਰਹਾ ਲਿਵ ਲਾਈ ॥੨॥੨੫॥੮੯॥
naanak kee benantee prabh jee naam rahaa liv laaee |2|25|89|
Nanak's prayer, O Dear God, is to remain lovingly absorbed in the Naam. ||2||25||89||
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਜੀ! (ਤੇਰੇ ਦਾਸ) ਨਾਨਕ ਦੀ (ਭੀ ਤੇਰੇ ਦਰ ਤੇ ਇਹ) ਬੇਨਤੀ ਹੈ-ਮੈਂ ਤੇਰੇ ਨਾਮ ਵਿਚ ਸੁਰਤਿ ਜੋੜੀ ਰੱਖਾਂ ॥੨॥੨੫॥੮੯॥

ਕਰਨ ਕਰਾਵਨ ਹਰਿ ਅੰਤਰਜਾਮੀ ਜਨ ਅਪੁਨੇ ਕੀ ਰਾਖੈ ॥
karan karaavan har antarajaamee jan apune kee raakhai |
The Lord is the Cause of Causes, the Inner-knower, the Searcher of hearts He preserves the honor of His servant.
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਸਭ ਕੁਝ ਕਰ ਸਕਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਤੇ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਪਾਸੋਂ ਕਰਾ ਸਕਣ ਵਾਲਾ, ਹਰੇਕ ਦੇ ਦਿਲ ਦੀ ਜਾਣਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਆਪਣੇ ਸੇਵਕ ਦੀ (ਸਦਾ ਲਾਜ) ਰੱਖਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਜੈ ਜੈ ਕਾਰੁ ਹੋਤੁ ਜਗ ਭੀਤਰਿ ਸਬਦੁ ਗੁਰੂ ਰਸੁ ਚਾਖੈ ॥੧॥
jai jai kaar hot jag bheetar sabad guroo ras chaakhai |1|
He is hailed and congratulated throughout the world, and he tastes the sublime essence of the Word of the Guru's Shabad. ||1||
ਜੇਹੜਾ ਸੇਵਕ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਨੂੰ (ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਵਸਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਦਾ) ਸੁਆਦ ਚੱਖਦਾ ਹੈ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਸੋਭਾ (ਸਾਰੇ) ਸੰਸਾਰ ਵਿਚ ਹੁੰਦੀ ਹੈ ॥੧॥
ਪ੍ਰਭ ਜੀ ਤੇਰੀ ਓਟ ਗੁਸਾਈ ॥

Dear God, Lord of the world, You are my only support.
ਹੇ (ਮੇਰੇ) ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਜੀ! ਹੇ ਧਰਤੀ ਦੇ ਖਸਮ! (ਮੈਨੂੰ) ਤੇਰਾ (ਹੀ) ਆਸਰਾ ਹੈ।
ਤੂ ਸਮਰਥੁ ਸਰਨਿ ਕਾ ਦਾਤਾ ਆਠ ਪਹਰ ਤੁਮੑ ਧਿਆਈ ॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
too samarath saran kaa daataa aatth pehar tuma dhiaaee | rahaau |
You are all-powerful, the Giver of Sanctuary twenty-four hours a day, I meditate on You. ||Pause||
ਤੂੰ ਸਭ ਤਾਕਤਾਂ ਦਾ ਮਾਲਕ ਹੈਂ, ਤੂੰ (ਸਭ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਨੂੰ) ਸਹਾਰਾ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈਂ, (ਮੇਰੇ ਉਤੇ ਮੇਹਰ ਕਰ) ਮੈਂ ਅੱਠੇ ਪਹਿਰ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਯਾਦ ਕਰਦਾ ਰਹਾਂ ਰਹਾਉ॥
ਜੋ ਜਨੁ ਭਜਨੁ ਕਰੇ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਤੇਰਾ ਤਿਸੈ ਅੰਦੇਸਾ ਨਾਹੀ ॥
jo jan bhajan kare prabh teraa tisai andesaa naahee |
That humble being, who vibrates upon You, O God, is not afflicted by anxiety.
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਜੇਹੜਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਤੇਰੀ ਭਗਤੀ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਕੋਈ ਚਿੰਤਾ-ਫ਼ਿਕਰ ਪੋਹ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਕਦਾ।
ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਚਰਨ ਲਗੇ ਭਉ ਮਿਟਿਆ ਹਰਿ ਗੁਨ ਗਾਏ ਮਨ ਮਾਹੀ ॥੨॥
satigur charan lage bhau mittiaa har gun gaae man maahee |2|
Attached to the Feet of the True Guru, his fear is dispelled, and within his mind, he sings the Glorious Praises of the Lord. ||2||
(ਜਿਸ ਦੇ ਮੱਥੇ ਨੂੰ) ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਚਰਨ ਛੁੰਹਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਸ ਦਾ ਹਰੇਕ ਡਰ ਮਿਟ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਆਪਣੇ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਪਰਮਤਾਮਾ ਦੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਦੇ ਗੀਤ ਗਾਂਦਾ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੨॥
ਸੂਖ ਸਹਜ ਆਨੰਦ ਘਨੇਰੇ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਦੀਆ ਦਿਲਾਸਾ ॥
sookh sehaj aanand ghanere satigur deea dilaasaa |
He abides in celestial peace and utter ecstasy the True Guru has comforted him.
ਹੇ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ! ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੂੰ ਤੂੰ (ਵਿਕਾਰਾਂ ਦਾ ਟਾਕਰਾ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ) ਹੌਸਲਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ, ਉਸ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਆਤਮਕ ਅਡੋਲਤਾ ਦੇ ਬਹੁਤ ਸੁਖ ਆਨੰਦ ਪੈਦਾ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ।
ਜਿਣਿ ਘਰਿ ਆਏ ਸੋਭਾ ਸੇਤੀ ਪੂਰਨ ਹੋਈ ਆਸਾ ॥੩॥
jin ghar aae sobhaa setee pooran hoee aasaa |3|
He has returned home victorious, with honor, and his hopes have been fulfilled. ||3||
ਉਹ ਮਨੁੱਖ (ਜੀਵਨ-ਖੇਡ) ਜਿੱਤ ਕੇ (ਜਗਤ ਵਿਚੋਂ) ਸੋਭਾ ਖੱਟ ਕੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ-ਘਰ ਵਿਚ ਟਿਕਿਆ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਦੀ (ਹਰੇਕ) ਆਸ ਪੂਰੀ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ ॥੩॥
ਪੂਰਾ ਗੁਰੁ ਪੂਰੀ ਮਤਿ ਜਾ ਕੀ ਪੂਰਨ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕੇ ਕਾਮਾ ॥
pooraa gur pooree mat jaa kee pooran prabh ke kaamaa |
Perfect are the Teachings of the Perfect Guru Perfect are the actions of God.
ਜੇਹੜਾ ਗੁਰੂ ਕੋਈ ਉਕਾਈ ਖਾਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਨਹੀਂ, ਜਿਸ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸਿੱਖਿਆ ਵਿਚ ਉਕਾਈ ਨਹੀਂ, ਜੇਹੜਾ ਗੁਰੂ ਪੂਰਨ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ (ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਦੇ) ਆਹਰਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਲਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ,
ਗੁਰ ਚਰਨੀ ਲਾਗਿ ਤਰਿਓ ਭਵ ਸਾਗਰੁ ਜਪਿ ਨਾਨਕ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮਾ ॥੪॥੨੬॥੯੦॥
gur charanee laag tario bhav saagar jap naanak har har naamaa |4|26|90|
Grasping hold of the Guru's feet, Nanak has crossed over the terrifying world-ocean, chanting the Name of the Lord, Har, Har. ||4||26||90||
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! (ਆਖ-) ਉਸ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਚਰਨੀਂ ਲੱਗ ਕੇ, ਤੇ, ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਸਦਾ ਜਪ ਕੇ (ਮੈਂ) ਸੰਸਾਰ-ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਤੋਂ (ਸਹੀ ਸਲਾਮਤਿ) ਪਾਰ ਲੰਘ ਰਿਹਾ ਹਾਂ ॥੪॥੨੬॥੯੦॥

ਭਇਓ ਕਿਰਪਾਲੁ ਦੀਨ ਦੁਖ ਭੰਜਨੁ ਆਪੇ ਸਭ ਬਿਧਿ ਥਾਟੀ ॥
bheo kirapaal deen dukh bhanjan aape sabh bidh thaattee |
Becoming merciful, the Destroyer of the pains of the poor has Himself devised all devices.
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਗਰੀਬਾਂ ਦੇ ਦੁੱਖ ਨਾਸ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ (ਆਪਣੇ ਸੇਵਕ ਉੱਤੇ ਸਦਾ) ਦਇਆਵਾਨ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਆਇਆ ਹੈ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਆਪ ਹੀ (ਆਪਣੇ ਸੇਵਕ ਦੀ ਰੱਖਿਆ ਕਰਨ ਦੀ) ਸਾਰੀ ਵਿਓਂਤ ਬਣਾਈ ਹੁੰਦੀ ਹੈ।
ਖਿਨ ਮਹਿ ਰਾਖਿ ਲੀਓ ਜਨੁ ਅਪੁਨਾ ਗੁਰ ਪੂਰੈ ਬੇੜੀ ਕਾਟੀ ॥੧॥
khin meh raakh leeo jan apunaa gur poorai berree kaattee |1|
In an instant, He has saved His humble servant the Perfect Guru has cut away his bonds. ||1||
ਉਸ ਨੇ ਇਕ ਪਲਕ ਵਿਚ ਆਪਣੇ ਸੇਵਕ ਨੂੰ (ਸਦਾ) ਬਚਾ ਲਿਆ, (ਉਸੇ ਦੀ ਮੇਹਰ ਨਾਲ) ਪੂਰੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਨੇ (ਸੇਵਕ ਦੀ ਦੁੱਖਾਂ ਕਲੇਸ਼ਾਂ ਦੀ) ਬੇੜੀ ਕੱਟ ਦਿੱਤੀ ॥੧॥
ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨ ਗੁਰ ਗੋਵਿੰਦੁ ਸਦ ਧਿਆਈਐ ॥
mere man gur govind sad dhiaaeeai |
O my mind, meditate forever on the Guru, the Lord of the Universe.
ਹੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨ! ਸਦਾ ਗੁਰੂ ਦਾ ਧਿਆਨ ਧਰਨਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ, ਸਦਾ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਸਿਮਰਨਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਸਗਲ ਕਲੇਸ ਮਿਟਹਿ ਇਸੁ ਤਨ ਤੇ ਮਨ ਚਿੰਦਿਆ ਫਲੁ ਪਾਈਐ ॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
sagal kales mitteh is tan te man chindiaa fal paaeeai | rahaau |
All illness shall depart from this body, and you shall obtain the fruits of your mind's desires. ||Pause||
(ਇਸ ਉੱਦਮ ਨਾਲ) ਇਸ ਸਰੀਰ ਵਿਚੋਂ ਸਾਰੇ ਦੁੱਖ-ਕਲੇਸ਼ ਮਿਟ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ, ਤੇ, ਮਨ-ਮੰਗੀ ਮੁਰਾਦ ਹਾਸਲ ਕਰ ਲਈਦੀ ਹੈ ਰਹਾਉ॥
ਜੀਅ ਜੰਤ ਜਾ ਕੇ ਸਭਿ ਕੀਨੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਊਚਾ ਅਗਮ ਅਪਾਰਾ ॥
jeea jant jaa ke sabh keene prabh aoochaa agam apaaraa |
God created all beings and creatures He is lofty, inaccessible and infinite.
ਸਾਰੇ ਜੀਅ ਜੰਤ ਜਿਸ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਪੈਦਾ ਕੀਤੇ ਹੋਏ ਹਨ ਉਹ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਸਭ ਤੋਂ ਉੱਚਾ ਹੈ, ਅਪਹੁੰਚ ਹੈ, ਬੇਅੰਤ ਹੈ।
ਸਾਧਸੰਗਿ ਨਾਨਕ ਨਾਮੁ ਧਿਆਇਆ ਮੁਖ ਊਜਲ ਭਏ ਦਰਬਾਰਾ ॥੨॥੨੭॥੯੧॥
saadhasang naanak naam dhiaaeaa mukh aoojal bhe darabaaraa |2|27|91|
In the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy, Nanak meditates on the Naam, the Name of the Lord his face is radiant in the Court of the Lord. ||2||27||91||
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! (ਆਖ-) ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਮਨੁੱਖਾਂ ਨੇ (ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸ਼ਰਨ ਪੈ ਕੇ ਉਸ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ) ਨਾਮ ਸਿਮਰਿਆ, ਉਹ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਹਜ਼ੂਰੀ ਵਿਚ ਸੁਰਖ਼-ਰੂ ਹੋ ਗਏ ॥੨॥੨੭॥੯੧॥
ਸੋਰਠਿ ਮਹਲਾ ੫ ॥

Sorat'h, Fifth Mehl:
ਸਿਮਰਉ ਅਪੁਨਾ ਸਾਂਈ ॥
simrau apunaa saanee |
I meditate in remembrance on my Lord.
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਮੈਂ (ਉਸ) ਖਸਮ-ਪ੍ਰਭੂ (ਦਾ ਨਾਮ) ਸਿਮਰਦਾ ਹਾਂ,
ਦਿਨਸੁ ਰੈਨਿ ਸਦ ਧਿਆਈ ॥
dinas rain sad dhiaaee |
Day and night, I ever meditate on Him.
ਦਿਨ ਰਾਤ ਸਦਾ (ਉਸ ਦਾ) ਧਿਆਨ ਧਰਦਾ ਹਾਂ,
ਹਾਥ ਦੇਇ ਜਿਨਿ ਰਾਖੇ ॥
haath dee jin raakhe |
He gave me His hand, and protected me.
ਜਿਸ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਹੱਥ ਦੇ ਕੇ (ਉਹਨਾਂ ਮਨੁੱਖਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਦੁੱਖਾਂ ਵਿਕਾਰਾਂ ਤੋਂ) ਬਚਾ ਲਿਆ,
ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮ ਮਹਾ ਰਸ ਚਾਖੇ ॥੧॥
har naam mahaa ras chaakhe |1|
I drink in the most sublime essence of the Lord's Name. ||1||
ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਦਾ ਸ੍ਰੇਸ਼ਟ ਰਸ ਚੱਖਿਆ ॥੧॥
