ਜਿ ਕਰਾਵੈ ਸੋ ਕਰਣਾ ॥
ji karaavai so karanaa |
Whatever You cause us to do, we do.
ਅਸੀਂ ਜੀਵ ਉਹੀ ਕੁਝ ਕਰ ਸਕਦੇ ਹਾਂ ਜੋ ਕੁਝ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਸਾਥੋਂ ਕਰਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਨਾਨਕ ਦਾਸ ਤੇਰੀ ਸਰਣਾ ॥੨॥੭॥੭੧॥

Nanak, Your slave, seeks Your Protection. ||2||7||71||
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! (ਆਖ-ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ!) ਤੇਰੇ ਦਾਸ ਤੇਰੀ ਹੀ ਸ਼ਰਨ ਪਏ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ ॥੨॥੭॥੭੧॥

Sorat'h, Fifth Mehl:
ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਰਿਦੈ ਪਰੋਇਆ ॥
har naam ridai paroeaa |
I have woven the Lord's Name into the fabric of my heart.
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਜਦੋਂ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਚੰਗੀ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਵਸਾ ਲਿਆ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ,
ਸਭੁ ਕਾਜੁ ਹਮਾਰਾ ਹੋਇਆ ॥
sabh kaaj hamaaraa hoeaa |
All my affairs are resolved.
ਤਦੋਂ ਅਸਾਂ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਦਾ ਸਾਰਾ ਜੀਵਨ-ਮਨੋਰਥ ਸਫਲ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਪ੍ਰਭ ਚਰਣੀ ਮਨੁ ਲਾਗਾ ॥
prabh charanee man laagaa |
His mind is attached to God's feet,
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਉਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦਾ ਮਨ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਲੀਨ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ,
ਪੂਰਨ ਜਾ ਕੇ ਭਾਗਾ ॥੧॥
pooran jaa ke bhaagaa |1|
whose destiny is perfect. ||1||
ਜਿਸ ਦੇ ਭਾਗ ਚੰਗੀ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਜਾਗ ਪੈਂਦੇ ਹਨ ॥੧॥
ਮਿਲਿ ਸਾਧਸੰਗਿ ਹਰਿ ਧਿਆਇਆ ॥
mil saadhasang har dhiaaeaa |
Joining the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy, I meditate on the Lord.
(ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਜਿਸ ਭੀ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੇ) ਸਾਧ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਵਿਚ ਮਿਲ ਕੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਸਿਮਰਿਆ,
ਆਠ ਪਹਰ ਅਰਾਧਿਓ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਮਨ ਚਿੰਦਿਆ ਫਲੁ ਪਾਇਆ ॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
aatth pehar araadhio har har man chindiaa fal paaeaa | rahaau |
Twenty-four hours a day, I worship and adore the Lord, Har, Har I have obtained the fruits of my mind's desires. ||Pause||
ਅੱਠੇ ਪਹਿਰ (ਹਰ ਵੇਲੇ) ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਯਾਦ ਕੀਤਾ, ਉਸ ਨੇ ਹਰੇਕ ਮਨ-ਮੰਗੀ ਮੁਰਾਦ ਪਾ ਲਈ ਰਹਾਉ॥
ਪਰਾ ਪੂਰਬਲਾ ਅੰਕੁਰੁ ਜਾਗਿਆ ॥
paraa poorabalaa ankur jaagiaa |
The seeds of my past actions have sprouted.
(ਸਾਧ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਵਿਚ ਮਿਲ ਕੇ ਜਦੋਂ ਕਿਸੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੇ) ਅਨੇਕਾਂ ਪੂਰਬਲੇ ਜਨਮਾਂ ਦੇ ਸੰਸਕਾਰਾਂ ਦਾ ਬੀਜ ਉੱਗ ਪੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ (ਪੂਰਬਲੇ ਸੰਸਕਾਰ ਜਾਗ ਪੈਂਦੇ ਹਨ)
ਰਾਮ ਨਾਮਿ ਮਨੁ ਲਾਗਿਆ ॥

My mind is attached to the Lord's Name.
(ਤਦੋਂ ਉਸ ਦਾ) ਮਨ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਵਿਚ ਲੱਗਣ ਲੱਗ ਪੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਮਨਿ ਤਨਿ ਹਰਿ ਦਰਸਿ ਸਮਾਵੈ ॥
man tan har daras samaavai |
My mind and body are absorbed into the Blessed Vision of the Lord's Darshan.
ਉਹ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਮਨੋਂ ਤਨੋਂ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਦੀਦਾਰ ਵਿਚ ਮਸਤ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ,
ਨਾਨਕ ਦਾਸ ਸਚੇ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਵੈ ॥੨॥੮॥੭੨॥

Slave Nanak sings the Glorious Praises of the True Lord. ||2||8||72||
ਹੇ ਦਾਸ ਨਾਨਕ! (ਆਖ-) ਉਹ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਸਦਾ-ਥਿਰ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਂਦਾ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੨॥੮॥੭੨॥

ਗੁਰ ਮਿਲਿ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਚਿਤਾਰਿਆ ॥

Meeting with the Guru, I contemplate God.
ਹੇ ਸੰਤ ਜਨੋ! (ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੇ) ਗੁਰੂ ਨੂੰ ਮਿਲ ਕੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨੂੰ ਯਾਦ ਕਰਨਾ ਸ਼ੁਰੂ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ,
ਕਾਰਜ ਸਭਿ ਸਵਾਰਿਆ ॥
kaaraj sabh savaariaa |
All of my affairs have been resolved.
ਉਸ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਕੰਮ ਸਵਾਰ ਲਏ।
ਮੰਦਾ ਕੋ ਨ ਅਲਾਏ ॥
mandaa ko na alaae |
No one speaks ill of me.
ਉਹ ਮਨੁੱਖ (ਕਿਸੇ ਨੂੰ) ਕੋਈ ਭੈੜੇ ਬੋਲ ਨਹੀਂ ਬੋਲਦਾ,
ਸਭ ਜੈ ਜੈ ਕਾਰੁ ਸੁਣਾਏ ॥੧॥
sabh jai jai kaar sunaae |1|
Everyone congratulates me on my victory. ||1||
ਉਹ ਸਾਰੀ ਲੁਕਾਈ ਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਹੀ ਸੁਣਾਂਦਾ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੧॥
ਸੰਤਹੁ ਸਾਚੀ ਸਰਣਿ ਸੁਆਮੀ ॥
santahu saachee saran suaamee |
O Saints, I seek the True Sanctuary of the Lord and Master.
ਹੇ ਸੰਤ ਜਨੋ! ਮਾਲਕ-ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਆਸਰਾ ਪੱਕਾ ਆਸਰਾ ਹੈ,
ਜੀਅ ਜੰਤ ਸਭਿ ਹਾਥਿ ਤਿਸੈ ਕੈ ਸੋ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਅੰਤਰਜਾਮੀ ॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
jeea jant sabh haath tisai kai so prabh antarajaamee | rahaau |
All beings and creatures are in His hands He is God, the Inner-knower, the Searcher of hearts. ||Pause||
(ਕਿਉਂਕਿ) ਸਾਰੇ ਜੀਵ ਉਸ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਹੱਥ ਵਿਚ ਹਨ, ਅਤੇ, ਉਹ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਹਰੇਕ ਜੀਵ ਦੇ ਦਿਲ ਦੀ ਜਾਣਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ ਰਹਾਉ॥
ਕਰਤਬ ਸਭਿ ਸਵਾਰੇ ॥
karatab sabh savaare |
He has resolved all of my affairs.
ਹੇ ਸੰਤ ਜਨੋ! (ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਪੱਕਾ ਆਸਰਾ ਲਿਆ, ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਦੇ) ਸਾਰੇ ਕੰਮ ਸਵਾਰ ਦਿੱਤੇ।
ਪ੍ਰਭਿ ਅਪੁਨਾ ਬਿਰਦੁ ਸਮਾਰੇ ॥
prabh apunaa birad samaare |
God has confirmed His innate nature.
ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੇ ਆਪਣਾ ਇਹ ਮੁੱਢ-ਕਦੀਮਾਂ ਦਾ (ਪਿਆਰ ਵਾਲਾ) ਸੁਭਾਉ ਸਦਾ ਹੀ ਚੇਤੇ ਰੱਖਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ।
ਪਤਿਤ ਪਾਵਨ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਨਾਮਾ ॥
patit paavan prabh naamaa |
God's Name is the Purifier of sinners.
(ਹੇ ਸੰਤ ਜਨੋ!) ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਵਿਕਾਰੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਪਵਿਤ੍ਰ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ।
ਜਨ ਨਾਨਕ ਸਦ ਕੁਰਬਾਨਾ ॥੨॥੯॥੭੩॥
jan naanak sad kurabaanaa |2|9|73|
Servant Nanak is forever a sacrifice to Him. ||2||9||73||
ਹੇ ਦਾਸ ਨਾਨਕ! (ਆਖ-ਮੈਂ ਉਸ ਤੋਂ) ਸਦਾ ਸਦਕੇ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹਾਂ ॥੨॥੯॥੭੩॥

ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮਿ ਸਾਜਿ ਸਵਾਰਿਆ ॥

The Supreme Lord God created and embellished him.
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨੇ ਇਸ ਛੋਟੇ ਬੱਚੇ (ਹਰਗੋਬਿੰਦ) ਨੂੰ ਸਾਜਿਆ ਤੇ ਸਵਾਰਿਆ।
ਇਹੁ ਲਹੁੜਾ ਗੁਰੂ ਉਬਾਰਿਆ ॥
eihu lahurraa guroo ubaariaa |
The Guru has saved this small child.
(ਸਾਧ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਦੀ ਅਰਦਾਸ ਸੁਣ ਕੇ) ਗੁਰੂ ਨੇ ਇਸ ਨੂੰ ਬਚਾ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ।
ਅਨਦ ਕਰਹੁ ਪਿਤ ਮਾਤਾ ॥
anad karahu pit maataa |
So celebrate and be happy, father and mother.
(ਗੁਰੂ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਮੇਹਰ ਦਾ ਸਦਕਾ ਇਸ ਦੇ) ਮਾਪੇ ਬੇਸ਼ਕ ਖ਼ੁਸ਼ੀ ਮਨਾਣ,
ਪਰਮੇਸਰੁ ਜੀਅ ਕਾ ਦਾਤਾ ॥੧॥
paramesar jeea kaa daataa |1|
The Transcendent Lord is the Giver of souls. ||1||
ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਹੀ ਜਿੰਦ ਦਾ ਦਾਤਾ ਹੈ (ਰਾਖਾ ਹੈ) ॥੧॥
ਸੁਭ ਚਿਤਵਨਿ ਦਾਸ ਤੁਮਾਰੇ ॥
subh chitavan daas tumaare |
Your slaves, O Lord, focus on pure thoughts.
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਤੇਰੇ ਸੇਵਕ ਸਭ ਦਾ ਭਲਾ ਮੰਗਦੇ ਹਨ।
ਰਾਖਹਿ ਪੈਜ ਦਾਸ ਅਪੁਨੇ ਕੀ ਕਾਰਜ ਆਪਿ ਸਵਾਰੇ ॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
raakheh paij daas apune kee kaaraj aap savaare | rahaau |
You preserve the honor of Your slaves, and You Yourself arrange their affairs. ||Pause||
(ਆਪਣੇ ਸੇਵਕਾਂ ਦੀ ਮੰਗ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ) ਤੂੰ ਕੰਮ ਸਵਾਰ ਕੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਸੇਵਕਾਂ ਦੀ ਇੱਜ਼ਤ ਰੱਖ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈਂ ਰਹਾਉ॥
ਮੇਰਾ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਪਰਉਪਕਾਰੀ ॥
meraa prabh praupakaaree |
My God is so benevolent.
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਮੇਰਾ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਸਭ ਦੀ ਭਲਾਈ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ,
ਪੂਰਨ ਕਲ ਜਿਨਿ ਧਾਰੀ ॥
pooran kal jin dhaaree |
His Almighty Power is manifest.
ਜਿਸ ਨੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਜਗਤ ਵਿਚ ਆਪਣੀ ਸ਼ਕਤੀ ਟਿਕਾਈ ਹੋਈ ਹੈ।
ਨਾਨਕ ਸਰਣੀ ਆਇਆ ॥

Nanak has come to His Sanctuary.
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! (ਆਖ-ਹੇ ਭਾਈ!) ਜੇਹੜਾ ਭੀ ਮਨੁੱਖ (ਉਸ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ) ਸਰਨ ਆ ਪੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ,
ਮਨ ਚਿੰਦਿਆ ਫਲੁ ਪਾਇਆ ॥੨॥੧੦॥੭੪॥
man chindiaa fal paaeaa |2|10|74|
He has obtained the fruits of his mind's desires. ||2||10||74||
ਉਹ ਮਨ-ਮੰਗੀ ਮੁਰਾਦ ਪਾ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੨॥੧੦॥੭੪॥

ਸਦਾ ਸਦਾ ਹਰਿ ਜਾਪੇ ॥
sadaa sadaa har jaape |
Forever and ever, I chant the Lord's Name.
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਸਦਾ ਹੀ (ਸਿਰਫ਼) ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਜਪਿਆ ਕਰੋ।
ਪ੍ਰਭ ਬਾਲਕ ਰਾਖੇ ਆਪੇ ॥
prabh baalak raakhe aape |
God Himself has saved my child.
ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਜੀ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਬਾਲਕਾਂ ਦੇ ਰਾਖੇ ਹਨ।
ਸੀਤਲਾ ਠਾਕਿ ਰਹਾਈ ॥
seetalaa tthaak rahaaee |
He healed him from the smallpox.
(ਬਾਲਕ ਹਰਗੋਬਿੰਦ ਤੋਂ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੇ ਆਪ ਹੀ) ਸੀਤਲਾ (ਚੇਚਕ) ਰੋਕ ਲਈ ਹੈ।
ਬਿਘਨ ਗਏ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਈ ॥੧॥
bighan ge har naaee |1|
My troubles have been removed through the Lord's Name. ||1||
ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਦੀ ਬਰਕਤਿ ਨਾਲ ਖ਼ਤਰੇ ਦੂਰ ਹੋ ਗਏ ਹਨ ॥੧॥
ਮੇਰਾ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਹੋਆ ਸਦਾ ਦਇਆਲਾ ॥
meraa prabh hoaa sadaa deaalaa |
My God is forever Merciful.
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਮੇਰਾ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਸਦਾ ਹੀ ਦਇਆਵਾਨ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਅਰਦਾਸਿ ਸੁਣੀ ਭਗਤ ਅਪੁਨੇ ਕੀ ਸਭ ਜੀਅ ਭਇਆ ਕਿਰਪਾਲਾ ॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
aradaas sunee bhagat apune kee sabh jeea bheaa kirapaalaa | rahaau |
He heard the prayer of His devotee, and now all beings are kind and compassionate to him. ||Pause||
ਸਾਰੇ ਹੀ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਉੱਤੇ ਦਇਆਵਾਨ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਉਹ ਆਪਣੇ ਭਗਤ ਦੀ ਅਰਜ਼ੋਈ (ਸਦਾ) ਸੁਣਦਾ ਹੈ ਰਹਾਉ॥
ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕਰਣ ਕਾਰਣ ਸਮਰਾਥਾ ॥
prabh karan kaaran samaraathaa |
God is Almighty, the Cause of causes.
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਜਗਤ ਦਾ ਮੂਲ ਹੈ, ਤੇ, ਸਭ ਤਾਕਤਾਂ ਦਾ ਮਾਲਕ ਹੈ।
ਹਰਿ ਸਿਮਰਤ ਸਭੁ ਦੁਖੁ ਲਾਥਾ ॥
har simarat sabh dukh laathaa |
Remembering the Lord in meditation, all pains and sorrows vanish.
ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਸਿਮਰਿਆਂ ਹਰੇਕ ਦੁੱਖ ਦੂਰ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਅਪਣੇ ਦਾਸ ਕੀ ਸੁਣੀ ਬੇਨੰਤੀ ॥
apane daas kee sunee benantee |
He has heard the prayer of His slave.
ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੇ (ਸਦਾ ਹੀ) ਆਪਣੇ ਸੇਵਕ ਦੀ ਬੇਨਤੀ ਸੁਣ ਲਈ ਹੈ।
ਸਭ ਨਾਨਕ ਸੁਖਿ ਸਵੰਤੀ ॥੨॥੧੧॥੭੫॥
sabh naanak sukh savantee |2|11|75|
O Nanak, now everyone sleeps in peace. ||2||11||75||
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! (ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਮੇਹਰ ਨਾਲ ਹੀ) ਸਾਰੀ ਲੁਕਾਈ ਸੁਖੀ ਵੱਸਦੀ ਹੈ ॥੨॥੧੧॥੭੫॥

ਅਪਨਾ ਗੁਰੂ ਧਿਆਏ ॥

I meditated on my Guru.
ਹੇ ਸੰਤ ਜਨੋ! ਜੇਹੜਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਆਪਣੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਦਾ ਧਿਆਨ ਧਰਦਾ ਹੈ,
ਮਿਲਿ ਕੁਸਲ ਸੇਤੀ ਘਰਿ ਆਏ ॥
mil kusal setee ghar aae |
I met with Him, and returned home in joy.
ਉਹ (ਗੁਰੂ-ਚਰਨਾਂ ਵਿਚ) ਜੁੜ ਕੇ ਆਤਮਕ ਆਨੰਦ ਨਾਲ ਹਿਰਦੇ-ਘਰ ਵਿਚ ਟਿਕ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ (ਬਾਹਰ ਭਟਕਣੋਂ ਬਚ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ)।
ਨਾਮੈ ਕੀ ਵਡਿਆਈ ॥
naamai kee vaddiaaee |
This is the glorious greatness of the Naam.
ਇਹ ਨਾਮ ਦੀ ਹੀ ਬਰਕਤਿ ਹੈ (ਕਿ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਹੋਰ ਹੋਰ ਆਸਰਿਆਂ ਦੀ ਭਾਲ ਛੱਡ ਦੇਂਦਾ ਹੈ)।
ਤਿਸੁ ਕੀਮਤਿ ਕਹਣੁ ਨ ਜਾਈ ॥੧॥
tis keemat kehan na jaaee |1|
Its value cannot be estimated. ||1||
(ਪਰ) ਇਸ (ਹਰਿ-ਨਾਮ) ਦਾ ਮੁੱਲ ਨਹੀਂ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਜਾ ਸਕਦਾ (ਕਿਸੇ ਦੁਨੀਆਵੀ ਪਦਾਰਥ ਦੇ ਵੱਟੇ ਨਹੀਂ ਮਿਲਦਾ) ॥੧॥
ਸੰਤਹੁ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਆਰਾਧਹੁ ॥

ਹੇ ਸੰਤ ਜਨੋ! ਸਦਾ ਹੀ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਹੀ ਸਿਮਰਿਆ ਕਰੋ।
ਹਰਿ ਆਰਾਧਿ ਸਭੋ ਕਿਛੁ ਪਾਈਐ ਕਾਰਜ ਸਗਲੇ ਸਾਧਹੁ ॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
har aaraadh sabho kichh paaeeai kaaraj sagale saadhahu | rahaau |
Worship the Lord in adoration, and you shall obtain everything your affairs shall all be resolved. ||Pause||
ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਸਿਮਰ ਕੇ ਹਰੇਕ ਚੀਜ਼ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕਰ ਲਈਦੀ ਹੈ। (ਤੁਸੀ ਭੀ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਸਿਮਰ ਕੇ ਆਪਣੇ) ਸਾਰੇ ਕੰਮ ਸਵਾਰੋ ਰਹਾਉ॥
ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਭਗਤਿ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਲਾਗੀ ॥
prem bhagat prabh laagee |
He alone is attached in loving devotion to God,
(ਹੇ ਸੰਤ ਜਨੋ! ਜੇਹੜਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਗੁਰੂ ਦਾ ਧਿਆਨ ਧਰਦਾ ਹੈ) ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਪਿਆਰ-ਭਰੀ ਭਗਤੀ ਵਿਚ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਮਨ ਲੱਗ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਸੋ ਪਾਏ ਜਿਸੁ ਵਡਭਾਗੀ ॥
so paae jis vaddabhaagee |
who realizes his great destiny.
ਪਰ ਇਹ ਦਾਤਿ ਉਹੀ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਹਾਸਲ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ ਜਿਸ ਦੇ ਵੱਡੇ ਭਾਗ ਹੋਣ।
ਜਨ ਨਾਨਕ ਨਾਮੁ ਧਿਆਇਆ ॥
jan naanak naam dhiaaeaa |
Servant Nanak meditates on the Naam, the Name of the Lord.
ਹੇ ਦਾਸ ਨਾਨਕ! (ਆਖ-) ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਸਿਮਰਿਆ ਹੈ,
ਤਿਨਿ ਸਰਬ ਸੁਖਾ ਫਲ ਪਾਇਆ ॥੨॥੧੨॥੭੬॥
tin sarab sukhaa fal paaeaa |2|12|76|
He obtains the rewards of all joys and peace. ||2||12||76||
ਉਸ ਨੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਸੁਖ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲੇ (ਫਲ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕਰ ਲਏ ਹਨ ॥੨॥੧੨॥੭੬॥

ਪਰਮੇਸਰਿ ਦਿਤਾ ਬੰਨਾ ॥

The Transcendent Lord has given me His support.
ਹੇ ਸੰਤ ਜਨੋ! (ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੇ ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਵਾਸਤੇ) ਪਰਮੇਸਰ ਨੇ (ਵਿਕਾਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਰਾਹ ਵਿਚ) ਡੱਕਾ ਮਾਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ,
ਦੁਖ ਰੋਗ ਕਾ ਡੇਰਾ ਭੰਨਾ ॥
dukh rog kaa dderaa bhanaa |
The house of pain and disease has been demolished.
(ਉਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰੋਂ) ਪਰਮੇਸਰ ਨੇ ਦੁੱਖਾਂ ਤੇ ਰੋਗਾਂ ਦਾ ਡੇਰਾ ਹੀ ਮੁਕਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ।
ਅਨਦ ਕਰਹਿ ਨਰ ਨਾਰੀ ॥
anad kareh nar naaree |
The men and women celebrate.
ਉਹ ਸਾਰੇ ਜੀਵ ਆਤਮਕ ਆਨੰਦ ਮਾਣਦੇ ਹਨ,
ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਪ੍ਰਭਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਧਾਰੀ ॥੧॥
har har prabh kirapaa dhaaree |1|
The Lord God, Har, Har, has extended His Mercy. ||1||
ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਉੱਤੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੇ (ਇਹ) ਕਿਰਪਾ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤੀ ॥੧॥
