ਸਬਦਿ ਮਰਹੁ ਫਿਰਿ ਜੀਵਹੁ ਸਦ ਹੀ ਤਾ ਫਿਰਿ ਮਰਣੁ ਨ ਹੋਈ ॥
sabad marahu fir jeevahu sad hee taa fir maran na hoee |
Dying in the Word of the Shabad, you shall live forever, and you shall never die again.
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਵਿਚ ਜੁੜ ਕੇ (ਵਿਕਾਰਾਂ ਵਲੋਂ) ਅਛੋਹ ਹੋ ਜਾਵੋ, ਫਿਰ ਸਦਾ ਲਈ ਹੀ ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਜੀਊਂਦੇ ਰਹੋਗੇ, ਫਿਰ ਕਦੇ ਆਤਮਕ ਮੌਤ ਨੇੜੇ ਨਹੀਂ ਢੁਕੇਗੀ।
ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤੁ ਨਾਮੁ ਸਦਾ ਮਨਿ ਮੀਠਾ ਸਬਦੇ ਪਾਵੈ ਕੋਈ ॥੩॥
amrit naam sadaa man meetthaa sabade paavai koee |3|
The Ambrosial Nectar of the Naam is ever-sweet to the mind but how few are those who obtain the Shabad. ||3||
ਜੇਹੜਾ ਭੀ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਦੀ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਹਰਿ-ਨਾਮ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕਰ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਇਹ ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਨਾਮ ਸਦਾ ਲਈ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਮਿੱਠਾ ਲੱਗਣ ਲੱਗ ਪੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੩॥
ਦਾਤੈ ਦਾਤਿ ਰਖੀ ਹਥਿ ਅਪਣੈ ਜਿਸੁ ਭਾਵੈ ਤਿਸੁ ਦੇਈ ॥
daatai daat rakhee hath apanai jis bhaavai tis deee |
The Great Giver keeps His Gifts in His Hand He gives them to those with whom He is pleased.
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਦਾਤਾਰ ਨੇ (ਨਾਮ ਦੀ ਇਹ) ਦਾਤਿ ਆਪਣੇ ਹੱਥ ਵਿਚ ਰੱਖੀ ਹੋਈ ਹੈ, ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਚਾਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਦੇ ਦੇਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਨਾਨਕ ਨਾਮਿ ਰਤੇ ਸੁਖੁ ਪਾਇਆ ਦਰਗਹ ਜਾਪਹਿ ਸੇਈ ॥੪॥੧੧॥
naanak naam rate sukh paaeaa daragah jaapeh seee |4|11|
O Nanak, imbued with the Naam, they find peace, and in the Court of the Lord, they are exalted. ||4||11||
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਜੇਹੜੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ-ਰੰਗ ਵਿਚ ਰੰਗੇ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਹ (ਇਥੇ) ਸੁਖ ਮਾਣਦੇ ਹਨ, ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਹਜ਼ੂਰੀ ਵਿਚ ਭੀ ਉਹੀ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਆਦਰ-ਮਾਣ ਪਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ ॥੪॥੧੧॥

Sorat'h, Third Mehl:
ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਸੇਵੇ ਤਾ ਸਹਜ ਧੁਨਿ ਉਪਜੈ ਗਤਿ ਮਤਿ ਤਦ ਹੀ ਪਾਏ ॥
satigur seve taa sehaj dhun upajai gat mat tad hee paae |
Serving the True Guru, the divine melody wells up within, and one is blessed with wisdom and salvation.
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਜਦੋਂ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸਰਨ ਪੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਤਦੋਂ (ਇਸ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰ) ਆਤਮਕ ਅਡੋਲਤਾ ਦੀ ਰੌ ਚੱਲ ਪੈਂਦੀ ਹੈ। ਤਦੋਂ ਹੀ (ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸਰਨ ਪੈ ਕੇ ਹੀ) ਮਨੁੱਖ ਉੱਚੀ ਆਤਮਕ ਅਵਸਥਾ ਤੇ ਉੱਚੀ ਮਤਿ ਹਾਸਲ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਹਰਿ ਕਾ ਨਾਮੁ ਸਚਾ ਮਨਿ ਵਸਿਆ ਨਾਮੇ ਨਾਮਿ ਸਮਾਏ ॥੧॥
har kaa naam sachaa man vasiaa naame naam samaae |1|
The True Name of the Lord comes to abide in the mind, and through the Name, one merges in the Name. ||1||
ਸਦਾ ਕਾਇਮ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਹਰਿ-ਨਾਮ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੇ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਆ ਵੱਸਦਾ ਹੈ, ਤੇ, ਮਨੁੱਖ ਸਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਵਿਚ ਹੀ ਲੀਨ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੧॥
ਬਿਨੁ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਸਭੁ ਜਗੁ ਬਉਰਾਨਾ ॥
bin satigur sabh jag bauraanaa |
Without the True Guru, the whole world is insane.
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸਰਨ ਪੈਣ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ ਸਾਰਾ ਜਗਤ (ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਮੋਹ ਵਿਚ) ਝੱਲਾ ਹੋਇਆ ਫਿਰਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਮਨਮੁਖਿ ਅੰਧਾ ਸਬਦੁ ਨ ਜਾਣੈ ਝੂਠੈ ਭਰਮਿ ਭੁਲਾਨਾ ॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
manamukh andhaa sabad na jaanai jhootthai bharam bhulaanaa | rahaau |
The blind, self-willed manmukhs do not realize the Word of the Shabad they are deluded by false doubts. ||Pause||
ਆਪਣੇ ਮਨ ਦੇ ਪਿੱਛੇ ਤੁਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ (ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਮੋਹ ਵਿਚ) ਅੰਨ੍ਹਾ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਨਾਲ ਡੂੰਘੀ ਸਾਂਝ ਨਹੀਂ ਪਾਂਦਾ। ਝੂਠੀ ਦੁਨੀਆ ਦੇ ਕਾਰਨ ਭਟਕਣਾ ਵਿਚ ਪੈ ਕੇ ਕੁਰਾਹੇ ਪਿਆ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ ਰਹਾਉ॥
ਤ੍ਰੈ ਗੁਣ ਮਾਇਆ ਭਰਮਿ ਭੁਲਾਇਆ ਹਉਮੈ ਬੰਧਨ ਕਮਾਏ ॥
trai gun maaeaa bharam bhulaaeaa haumai bandhan kamaae |
The three-faced Maya had led them astray in doubt, and they are snared by the noose of egotism.
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਮਨੁੱਖ ਤ੍ਰਿਗੁਣੀ ਮਾਇਆ ਦੀ ਭਟਕਣਾ ਵਿਚ ਪੈ ਕੇ ਕੁਰਾਹੇ ਪਿਆ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਤੇ, ਹਉਮੈ ਦੇ ਕਾਰਨ ਮੋਹ ਦੇ ਬੰਧਨ ਵਧਾਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਕੰਮ ਹੀ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਜੰਮਣੁ ਮਰਣੁ ਸਿਰ ਊਪਰਿ ਊਭਉ ਗਰਭ ਜੋਨਿ ਦੁਖੁ ਪਾਏ ॥੨॥
jaman maran sir aoopar aoobhau garabh jon dukh paae |2|
Birth and death hang over their heads, and being reborn from the womb, they suffer in pain. ||2||
ਉਸ ਦੇ ਸਿਰ ਉਤੇ ਜਨਮ ਮਰਨ ਦਾ ਗੇੜ ਹਰ ਵੇਲੇ ਟਿਕਿਆ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਤੇ, ਜਨਮ ਮਰਨ ਵਿਚ ਪੈ ਕੇ ਦੁੱਖ ਸਹਿੰਦਾ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੨॥
ਤ੍ਰੈ ਗੁਣ ਵਰਤਹਿ ਸਗਲ ਸੰਸਾਰਾ ਹਉਮੈ ਵਿਚਿ ਪਤਿ ਖੋਈ ॥
trai gun varateh sagal sansaaraa haumai vich pat khoee |
The three qualities permeate the whole world acting in ego, it loses its honor.
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਤਿੰਨ ਗੁਣ ਸਾਰੇ ਸੰਸਾਰ ਉੱਤੇ ਆਪਣਾ ਪਰਭਾਵ ਪਾਈ ਰੱਖਦੇ ਹਨ, (ਇਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਅਸਰ ਹੇਠ ਮਨੁੱਖ) ਹਉਮੈ ਵਿਚ ਫਸ ਕੇ ਇੱਜ਼ਤ ਗਵਾ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਹੋਵੈ ਚਉਥਾ ਪਦੁ ਚੀਨੈ ਰਾਮ ਨਾਮਿ ਸੁਖੁ ਹੋਈ ॥੩॥
guramukh hovai chauthaa pad cheenai raam naam sukh hoee |3|
But one who becomes Gurmukh comes to realize the fourth state of celestial bliss he finds peace through the Name of the Lord. ||3||
ਜੇਹੜਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸਰਨ ਪੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਉਸ ਆਤਮਕ ਅਵਸਥਾ ਨੂੰ ਪਛਾਣ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਜਿਥੇ ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਤਿੰਨ ਗੁਣ ਅਸਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਪਾ ਸਕਦੇ, ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਵਿਚ ਟਿਕ ਕੇ ਉਹ ਆਤਮਕ ਆਨੰਦ ਮਾਣਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੩॥
ਤ੍ਰੈ ਗੁਣ ਸਭਿ ਤੇਰੇ ਤੂ ਆਪੇ ਕਰਤਾ ਜੋ ਤੂ ਕਰਹਿ ਸੁ ਹੋਈ ॥
trai gun sabh tere too aape karataa jo too kareh su hoee |
The three qualities are all Yours, O Lord You Yourself created them. Whatever You do, comes to pass.
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਇਹ ਤਿੰਨੇ ਗੁਣ ਤੇਰੇ ਹੀ ਬਣਾਏ ਹੋਏ ਹਨ, ਤੂੰ ਆਪ ਹੀ (ਸਭ ਦਾ) ਪੈਦਾ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈਂ। (ਜਗਤ ਵਿਚ) ਉਹੀ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ ਜੋ ਤੂੰ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈਂ।
ਨਾਨਕ ਰਾਮ ਨਾਮਿ ਨਿਸਤਾਰਾ ਸਬਦੇ ਹਉਮੈ ਖੋਈ ॥੪॥੧੨॥
naanak raam naam nisataaraa sabade haumai khoee |4|12|
O Nanak, through the Lord's Name, one is emancipated through the Shabad, he is rid of egotism. ||4||12||
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! (ਆਖ-ਹੇ ਭਾਈ!) ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਵਿਚ ਜੁੜਿਆਂ (ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਤਿੰਨ ਗੁਣਾਂ ਤੋਂ) ਪੂਰੀ ਖ਼ਲਾਸੀ ਹੁੰਦੀ ਹੈ। ਮਨੁੱਖ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਦੀ ਬਰਕਤਿ ਨਾਲ ਹੀ (ਆਪਣੇ ਅੰਦਰੋਂ) ਹਉਮੈ ਦੂਰ ਕਰ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੪॥੧੨॥

One Universal Creator God. By The Grace Of The True Guru:
ਅਕਾਲ ਪੁਰਖ ਇੱਕ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਨਾਲ ਮਿਲਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਆਪੇ ਆਪਿ ਵਰਤਦਾ ਪਿਆਰਾ ਆਪੇ ਆਪਿ ਅਪਾਹੁ ॥
aape aap varatadaa piaaraa aape aap apaahu |
My Beloved Lord Himself pervades and permeates all He Himself is, all by Himself.
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਹਰ ਥਾਂ ਮੌਜੂਦ ਹੈ (ਵਿਆਪਕ ਹੁੰਦਿਆਂ ਭੀ) ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਨਿਰਲੇਪ (ਭੀ) ਹੈ।
ਵਣਜਾਰਾ ਜਗੁ ਆਪਿ ਹੈ ਪਿਆਰਾ ਆਪੇ ਸਾਚਾ ਸਾਹੁ ॥
vanajaaraa jag aap hai piaaraa aape saachaa saahu |
My Beloved Himself is the trader in this world He Himself is the true banker.
ਜਗਤ-ਵਣਜਾਰਾ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਹੈ (ਜਗਤ-ਵਣਜਾਰੇ ਨੂੰ ਰਾਸਿ-ਪੂੰਜੀ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਭੀ) ਸਦਾ ਕਾਇਮ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਸ਼ਾਹੂਕਾਰ ਹੈ।
ਆਪੇ ਵਣਜੁ ਵਾਪਾਰੀਆ ਪਿਆਰਾ ਆਪੇ ਸਚੁ ਵੇਸਾਹੁ ॥੧॥
aape vanaj vaapaareea piaaraa aape sach vesaahu |1|
My Beloved Himself is the trade and the trader He Himself is the true credit. ||1||
ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਵਣਜ ਹੈ, ਆਪ ਹੀ ਵਪਾਰ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ, ਆਪ ਸਦਾ-ਥਿਰ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਸਰਮਾਇਆ ਹੈ ॥੧॥
ਜਪਿ ਮਨ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਸਲਾਹ ॥
jap man har har naam salaah |
O mind, meditate on the Lord, Har, Har, and praise His Name.
ਹੇ (ਮੇਰੇ) ਮਨ! ਸਦਾ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਸਿਮਰਿਆ ਕਰ, ਸਿਫ਼ਤ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਕਰਿਆ ਕਰ।
ਗੁਰ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਤੇ ਪਾਈਐ ਪਿਆਰਾ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤੁ ਅਗਮ ਅਥਾਹ ॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
gur kirapaa te paaeeai piaaraa amrit agam athaah | rahaau |
By Guru's Grace, the Beloved, Ambrosial, unapproachable and unfathomable Lord is obtained. ||Pause||
(ਹੇ ਭਾਈ!) ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਮੇਹਰ ਨਾਲ ਹੀ ਉਹ ਪਿਆਰਾ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਮਿਲ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ, ਜੋ ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ, ਜੋ ਅਪਹੁੰਚ ਹੈ, ਤੇ, ਜੋ ਬਹੁਤ ਡੂੰਘਾ ਹੈ ਰਹਾਉ॥
ਆਪੇ ਸੁਣਿ ਸਭ ਵੇਖਦਾ ਪਿਆਰਾ ਮੁਖਿ ਬੋਲੇ ਆਪਿ ਮੁਹਾਹੁ ॥
aape sun sabh vekhadaa piaaraa mukh bole aap muhaahu |
The Beloved Himself sees and hears everything He Himself speaks through the mouths of all beings.
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਆਪ ਹੀ (ਜੀਵਾਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਅਰਦਾਸਾਂ) ਸੁਣ ਕੇ ਸਭ ਦੀ ਸੰਭਾਲ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਆਪ ਹੀ ਮੂੰਹੋਂ (ਜੀਵਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਢਾਰਸ ਦੇਣ ਲਈ) ਮਿੱਠਾ ਬੋਲ ਬੋਲਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਆਪੇ ਉਝੜਿ ਪਾਇਦਾ ਪਿਆਰਾ ਆਪਿ ਵਿਖਾਲੇ ਰਾਹੁ ॥
aape ujharr paaeidaa piaaraa aap vikhaale raahu |
The Beloved Himself leads us into the wilderness, and He Himself shows us the Way.
ਪਿਆਰਾ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਆਪ ਹੀ (ਜੀਵਾਂ ਨੂੰ) ਕੁਰਾਹੇ ਪਾ ਦੇਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਆਪ ਹੀ (ਜ਼ਿੰਦਗੀ ਦਾ ਸਹੀ) ਰਸਤਾ ਵਿਖਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਆਪੇ ਹੀ ਸਭੁ ਆਪਿ ਹੈ ਪਿਆਰਾ ਆਪੇ ਵੇਪਰਵਾਹੁ ॥੨॥
aape hee sabh aap hai piaaraa aape veparavaahu |2|
The Beloved Himself is Himself all-in-all He Himself is carefree. ||2||
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਹਰ ਥਾਂ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਆਪ ਹੈ, (ਇਤਨੇ ਖਲਜਗਨ ਦਾ ਮਾਲਕ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੋਇਆ) ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਬੇ-ਪਰਵਾਹ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੨॥
ਆਪੇ ਆਪਿ ਉਪਾਇਦਾ ਪਿਆਰਾ ਸਿਰਿ ਆਪੇ ਧੰਧੜੈ ਲਾਹੁ ॥
aape aap upaaeidaa piaaraa sir aape dhandharrai laahu |
The Beloved Himself, all by Himself, created everything He Himself links all to their tasks.
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਆਪ ਹੀ (ਸਭ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਨੂੰ) ਪੈਦਾ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਆਪ ਹੀ ਹਰੇਕ ਜੀਵ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਆਹਰ ਵਿਚ ਲਾਈ ਰੱਖਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਆਪਿ ਕਰਾਏ ਸਾਖਤੀ ਪਿਆਰਾ ਆਪਿ ਮਾਰੇ ਮਰਿ ਜਾਹੁ ॥
aap karaae saakhatee piaaraa aap maare mar jaahu |
The Beloved Himself creates the Creation, and He Himself destroys it.
ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਆਪ ਹੀ (ਜੀਵਾਂ ਦੀ) ਬਣਤਰ ਬਣਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਆਪ ਹੀ ਮਾਰਦਾ ਹੈ, (ਤਾਂ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਪੈਦਾ ਕੀਤਾ ਜੀਵ) ਮਰ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਆਪੇ ਪਤਣੁ ਪਾਤਣੀ ਪਿਆਰਾ ਆਪੇ ਪਾਰਿ ਲੰਘਾਹੁ ॥੩॥
aape patan paatanee piaaraa aape paar langhaahu |3|
He Himself is the wharf, and He Himself is the ferryman, who ferries us across. ||3||
ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਆਪ ਹੀ (ਸੰਸਾਰ-ਨਦੀ ਉਤੇ) ਪੱਤਣ ਹੈ, ਆਪ ਹੀ ਮਲਾਹ ਹੈ, ਆਪ ਹੀ (ਜੀਵਾਂ ਨੂੰ) ਪਾਰ ਲੰਘਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੩॥
ਆਪੇ ਸਾਗਰੁ ਬੋਹਿਥਾ ਪਿਆਰਾ ਗੁਰੁ ਖੇਵਟੁ ਆਪਿ ਚਲਾਹੁ ॥
aape saagar bohithaa piaaraa gur khevatt aap chalaahu |
The Beloved Himself is the ocean, and the boat He Himself is the Guru, the boatman who steers it
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਆਪ ਹੀ (ਸੰਸਾਰ-) ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਹੈ, ਆਪ ਹੀ ਜਹਾਜ਼ ਹੈ, ਆਪ ਹੀ ਗੁਰੂ-ਮਲਾਹ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਜਹਾਜ਼ ਨੂੰ ਚਲਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਆਪੇ ਹੀ ਚੜਿ ਲੰਘਦਾ ਪਿਆਰਾ ਕਰਿ ਚੋਜ ਵੇਖੈ ਪਾਤਿਸਾਹੁ ॥
aape hee charr langhadaa piaaraa kar choj vekhai paatisaahu |
. The Beloved Himself sets sail and crosses over He, the King, beholds His wondrous play.
ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਆਪ ਹੀ (ਜਹਾਜ਼ ਵਿਚ) ਚੜ੍ਹ ਕੇ ਪਾਰ ਲੰਘਦਾ ਹੈ। ਪ੍ਰਭੂ-ਪਾਤਿਸ਼ਾਹ ਕੌਤਕ-ਤਮਾਸ਼ੇ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਆਪ ਹੀ (ਇਤਨਾ ਤਮਾਸ਼ਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ) ਵੇਖ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ।
ਆਪੇ ਆਪਿ ਦਇਆਲੁ ਹੈ ਪਿਆਰਾ ਜਨ ਨਾਨਕ ਬਖਸਿ ਮਿਲਾਹੁ ॥੪॥੧॥
aape aap deaal hai piaaraa jan naanak bakhas milaahu |4|1|
The Beloved Himself is the Merciful Master O servant Nanak, He forgives and blends with Himself. ||4||1||
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! (ਆਖ-) ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਆਪ ਹੀ (ਸਦਾ) ਦਇਆ ਦਾ ਸੋਮਾ ਹੈ, ਆਪ ਹੀ ਬਖ਼ਸ਼ਸ਼ ਕਰ ਕੇ (ਆਪਣੇ ਪੈਦਾ ਕੀਤੇ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਨਾਲ) ਮਿਲਾ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੪॥੧॥

ਆਪੇ ਅੰਡਜ ਜੇਰਜ ਸੇਤਜ ਉਤਭੁਜ ਆਪੇ ਖੰਡ ਆਪੇ ਸਭ ਲੋਇ ॥
aape anddaj jeraj setaj utabhuj aape khandd aape sabh loe |
He Himself is born of the egg, from the womb, from sweat and from the earth He Himself is the continents and all the worlds.
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਆਪ ਹੀ (ਚਾਰੇ ਖਾਣੀਆਂ) ਅੰਡਜ ਜੇਰਜ ਸੇਤਜ ਉਤਭੁਜ ਹੈ, ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਆਪ ਹੀ (ਧਰਤੀ ਦੇ ਨੌ) ਖੰਡ ਹੈ, ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਆਪ ਹੀ (ਸ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਟੀ ਦੇ) ਸਾਰੇ ਭਵਨ ਹੈ।
ਆਪੇ ਸੂਤੁ ਆਪੇ ਬਹੁ ਮਣੀਆ ਕਰਿ ਸਕਤੀ ਜਗਤੁ ਪਰੋਇ ॥
aape soot aape bahu maneea kar sakatee jagat paroe |
He Himself is the thread, and He Himself is the many beads through His Almighty Power, He has strung the worlds.
ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਆਪ ਹੀ (ਸੱਤਿਆ-ਰੂਪ) ਧਾਗਾ ਹੈ, ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਆਪ (ਬੇਅੰਤ ਜੀਵ ਰੂਪ) ਅਨੇਕਾਂ ਮਣਕੇ ਹੈ, ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਆਪਣੀ ਤਾਕਤ ਬਣਾ ਕੇ ਜਗਤ ਨੂੰ (ਧਾਗੇ ਵਿਚ) ਪ੍ਰੋਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
