ਮੈ ਬਹੁ ਬਿਧਿ ਪੇਖਿਓ ਦੂਜਾ ਨਾਹੀ ਰੀ ਕੋਊ ॥
mai bahu bidh pekhio doojaa naahee ree koaoo |
I have looked in so many ways, but there is no other like the Lord.
ਹੇ ਸਖੀ! ਮੈਂ ਇਸ ਅਨੇਕਾਂ ਰੰਗਾਂ ਵਾਲੇ ਜਗਤ ਨੂੰ (ਗਹੁ ਨਾਲ) ਵੇਖਿਆ ਹੈ, ਮੈਨੂੰ ਇਸ ਵਿਚ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ ਕੋਈ ਹੋਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਦਿੱਸਦਾ।
ਖੰਡ ਦੀਪ ਸਭ ਭੀਤਰਿ ਰਵਿਆ ਪੂਰਿ ਰਹਿਓ ਸਭ ਲੋਊ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
khandd deep sabh bheetar raviaa poor rahio sabh loaoo |1| rahaau |
On all the continents and islands, He is permeating and fully pervading He is in all worlds. ||1||Pause||
ਧਰਤੀ ਦੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਖੰਡਾਂ ਵਿਚ, ਦੇਸ਼ਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਸਭਨਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਹੀ ਮੌਜੂਦ ਹੈ, ਸਭ ਭਵਨਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਵਿਆਪਕ ਹੈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ਅਗਮ ਅਗੰਮਾ ਕਵਨ ਮਹਿੰਮਾ ਮਨੁ ਜੀਵੈ ਸੁਨਿ ਸੋਊ ॥
agam agamaa kavan mahinmaa man jeevai sun soaoo |
He is the most unfathomable of the unfathomable who can chant His Praises? My mind lives by hearing news of Him.
ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਅਪਹੁੰਚ ਹੈ, ਸਾਡੀ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਦੀ ਅਕਲ ਉਸ ਤਕ ਨਹੀਂ ਪਹੁੰਚ ਸਕਦੀ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਵਡਿਆਈ ਕੋਈ ਭੀ ਬਿਆਨ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰ ਸਕਦਾ। ਉਸ ਦੀ ਸੋਭਾ ਸੁਣ ਸੁਣ ਕੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨ ਨੂੰ ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਮਿਲ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ।
ਚਾਰਿ ਆਸਰਮ ਚਾਰਿ ਬਰੰਨਾ ਮੁਕਤਿ ਭਏ ਸੇਵਤੋਊ ॥੧॥
chaar aasaram chaar baranaa mukat bhe sevatoaoo |1|
People in the four stages of life, and in the four social classes are liberated, by serving You, Lord. ||1||
ਚੌਹਾਂ ਆਸ਼੍ਰਮਾਂ, ਚੌਹਾਂ ਵਰਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਜੀਵ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਸੇਵਾ-ਭਗਤੀ ਕਰ ਕੇ (ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਬੰਧਨਾਂ ਤੋਂ) ਆਜ਼ਾਦ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ ॥੧॥
ਗੁਰਿ ਸਬਦੁ ਦ੍ਰਿੜਾਇਆ ਪਰਮ ਪਦੁ ਪਾਇਆ ਦੁਤੀਅ ਗਏ ਸੁਖ ਹੋਊ ॥
gur sabad drirraaeaa param pad paaeaa duteea ge sukh hoaoo |
The Guru has implanted the Word of His Shabad within me I have attained the supreme status. My sense of duality has been dispelled, and now, I am at peace.
ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਗੁਰੂ ਨੇ ਆਪਣਾ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਪੱਕਾ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਟਿਕਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਸਭ ਤੋਂ ਉੱਚਾ ਆਤਮਕ ਦਰਜਾ ਹਾਸਲ ਕਰ ਲਿਆ, ਉਸ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰੋਂ ਮੇਰ-ਤੇਰ ਦੂਰ ਹੋ ਗਈ, ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਆਤਮਕ ਅਨੰਦ ਮਿਲ ਗਿਆ,
ਕਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਭਵ ਸਾਗਰੁ ਤਰਿਆ ਹਰਿ ਨਿਧਿ ਪਾਈ ਸਹਜੋਊ ॥੨॥੨॥੩੩॥
kahu naanak bhav saagar tariaa har nidh paaee sahajoaoo |2|2|33|
Says Nanak, I have easily crossed over the terrifying world-ocean, obtaining the treasure of the Lord's Name. ||2||2||33||
ਨਾਨਕ ਆਖਦਾ ਹੈ- ਉਸ ਨੇ ਸੰਸਾਰ-ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਤਰ ਲਿਆ, ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ-ਖ਼ਜ਼ਾਨਾ ਲੱਭ ਪਿਆ, ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਆਤਮਕ ਅਡੋਲਤਾ ਹਾਸਲ ਹੋ ਗਈ ॥੨॥੨॥੩੩॥

ੴ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ॥

One Universal Creator God. By The Grace Of The True Guru:
ਅਕਾਲ ਪੁਰਖ ਇੱਕ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਨਾਲ ਮਿਲਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਏਕੈ ਰੇ ਹਰਿ ਏਕੈ ਜਾਨ ॥
ekai re har ekai jaan |
Know that there is One and only One Lord.
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਹਰ ਥਾਂ ਇਕ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨੂੰ ਹੀ ਵੱਸਦਾ ਸਮਝ।
ਏਕੈ ਰੇ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਜਾਨ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥

O Gurmukh, know that He is One. ||1||Pause||
ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸਰਨ ਪੈ ਕੇ ਇਕ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨੂੰ ਹੀ (ਹਰ ਥਾਂ ਵੱਸਦਾ) ਸਮਝ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ਕਾਹੇ ਭ੍ਰਮਤ ਹਉ ਤੁਮ ਭ੍ਰਮਹੁ ਨ ਭਾਈ ਰਵਿਆ ਰੇ ਰਵਿਆ ਸ੍ਰਬ ਥਾਨ ॥੧॥
kaahe bhramat hau tum bhramahu na bhaaee raviaa re raviaa srab thaan |1|
Why are you wandering around? O Siblings of Destiny, don't wander around He is permeating and pervading everywhere. ||1||
ਤੁਸੀਂ ਕਿਉਂ ਭਟਕਦੇ ਹੋ? ਭਟਕਣਾ ਛੱਡ ਦਿਉ। ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਸਭ ਥਾਵਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਵਿਆਪ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ ॥੧॥
ਜਿਉ ਬੈਸੰਤਰੁ ਕਾਸਟ ਮਝਾਰਿ ਬਿਨੁ ਸੰਜਮ ਨਹੀ ਕਾਰਜ ਸਾਰਿ ॥
jiau baisantar kaasatt majhaar bin sanjam nahee kaaraj saar |
As the fire in the forest, without control, cannot serve any purpose
ਜਿਵੇਂ (ਹਰੇਕ) ਲੱਕੜ ਵਿਚ ਅੱਗ (ਵੱਸਦੀ ਹੈ, ਪਰ) ਜੁਗਤਿ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ (ਉਹ ਅੱਗ ਹਾਸਲ ਨਹੀਂ ਕੀਤੀ ਜਾ ਸਕਦੀ, ਤੇ, ਅੱਗ ਨਾਲ ਕੀਤੇ ਜਾਣ ਵਾਲੇ) ਕੰਮ ਸਿਰੇ ਨਹੀਂ ਚੜ੍ਹ ਸਕਦੇ।
ਬਿਨੁ ਗੁਰ ਨ ਪਾਵੈਗੋ ਹਰਿ ਜੀ ਕੋ ਦੁਆਰ ॥
bin gur na paavaigo har jee ko duaar |
just so, without the Guru, one cannot attain the Gate of the Lord.
(ਇਸੇ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ, ਭਾਵੇਂ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਹਰ ਥਾਂ ਵੱਸ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ, ਪਰ) ਗੁਰੂ ਨੂੰ ਮਿਲਣ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ ਕੋਈ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਦਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਲੱਭ ਸਕੇਗਾ।
ਮਿਲਿ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਤਜਿ ਅਭਿਮਾਨ ਕਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਪਾਏ ਹੈ ਪਰਮ ਨਿਧਾਨ ॥੨॥੧॥੩੪॥
mil sangat taj abhimaan kahu naanak paae hai param nidhaan |2|1|34|
Joining the Society of the Saints, renounce your ego says Nanak, in this way, the supreme treasure is obtained. ||2||1||34||
ਨਾਨਕ ਆਖਦਾ ਹੈ- ਸਾਧ ਸੰਗਤ ਵਿਚ ਮਿਲ ਕੇ ਆਪਣਾ ਅਹੰਕਾਰ ਤਿਆਗ ਕੇ ਸਭ ਤੋਂ ਸ੍ਰੇਸ਼ਟ (ਨਾਮ-) ਖ਼ਜ਼ਾਨਾ ਮਿਲ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੨॥੧॥੩੪॥

His state cannot be known. ||1||Pause||
ਉਸ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਆਤਮਕ ਅਵਸਥਾ ਸਮਝੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾ ਸਕਦੀ (ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਕਿਹੋ ਜਿਹਾ ਹੈ-ਇਹ ਗੱਲ ਜਾਣੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾ ਸਕਦੀ) ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ਕਹ ਪੇਖਾਰਉ ਹਉ ਕਰਿ ਚਤੁਰਾਈ ਬਿਸਮਨ ਬਿਸਮੇ ਕਹਨ ਕਹਾਤਿ ॥੧॥
keh pekhaarau hau kar chaturaaee bisaman bisame kehan kahaat |1|
How can I behold Him through clever tricks? Those who tell this story are wonder-struck and amazed. ||1||
ਆਪਣੀ ਅਕਲ ਦਾ ਜ਼ੋਰ ਲਾ ਕੇ ਮੈਂ ਉਹ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਕਿਥੇ ਵਿਖਾਵਾਂ? ਜੇਹੜੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਬਿਆਨ ਕਰਨ ਦਾ ਜਤਨ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ ਉਹ ਭੀ ਹੈਰਾਨ ਹੀ ਰਹਿ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ (ਉਸ ਦਾ ਸਰੂਪ ਕਥਿਆ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾ ਸਕਦਾ) ॥੧॥
ਗਣ ਗੰਧਰਬ ਸਿਧ ਅਰੁ ਸਾਧਿਕ ॥
gan gandharab sidh ar saadhik |
The servants of God, the celestial singers, the Siddhas and the seekers,
ਸ਼ਿਵ ਜੀ ਦੇ ਸੇਵਕ, ਦੇਵਤਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਰਾਗੀ, ਕਰਾਮਾਤੀ ਜੋਗੀ, ਜੋਗ-ਸਾਧਨਾਂ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ,
ਸੁਰਿ ਨਰ ਦੇਵ ਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਬ੍ਰਹਮਾਦਿਕ ॥
sur nar dev braham brahamaadik |
the angelic and divine beings, Brahma and those like Brahma,
ਦੈਵੀ ਗੁਣਾਂ ਵਾਲੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ, ਦੇਵਤੇ, ਬ੍ਰਹਮ-ਗਿਆਨੀ, ਬ੍ਰਹਮਾ ਆਦਿਕ ਵੱਡੇ ਦੇਵਤੇ,
ਚਤੁਰ ਬੇਦ ਉਚਰਤ ਦਿਨੁ ਰਾਤਿ ॥
chatur bed ucharat din raat |
and the four Vedas proclaim, day and night,
ਤੇ ਚਾਰੇ ਵੇਦ (ਉਸ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਗੁਣਾਂ ਦਾ) ਦਿਨ ਰਾਤ ਉਚਾਰਨ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ।
ਅਗਮ ਅਗਮ ਠਾਕੁਰੁ ਆਗਾਧਿ ॥
agam agam tthaakur aagaadh |
that the Lord and Master is inaccessible, unapproachable and unfathomable.
(ਫਿਰ ਭੀ) ਉਸ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਤਕ (ਆਪਣੀ ਅਕਲ ਦੇ ਜ਼ੋਰ) ਪਹੁੰਚ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੋ ਸਕਦੀ, ਉਹ ਅਪਹੁੰਚ ਹੈ ਉਹ ਅਥਾਹ ਹੈ।
ਗੁਨ ਬੇਅੰਤ ਬੇਅੰਤ ਭਨੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਕਹਨੁ ਨ ਜਾਈ ਪਰੈ ਪਰਾਤਿ ॥੨॥੨॥੩੫॥
gun beant beant bhan naanak kehan na jaaee parai paraat |2|2|35|
Endless, endless are His Glories, says Nanak they cannot be described - they are beyond our reach. ||2||2||35||
ਨਾਨਕ ਆਖਦਾ ਹੈ- ਪਰਾਮਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਗੁਣਾਂ ਦਾ ਅੰਤ ਨਹੀਂ ਪਾਇਆ ਜਾ ਸਕਦਾ, ਉਹ ਬੇਅੰਤ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਦਾ ਸਰੂਪ ਬਿਆਨ ਨਹੀਂ ਕੀਤਾ ਜਾ ਸਕਦਾ, ਉਹ ਪਰੇ ਤੋਂ ਪਰੇ ਹੈ ॥੨॥੨॥੩੫॥

ਧਿਆਏ ਗਾਏ ਕਰਨੈਹਾਰ ॥
dhiaae gaae karanaihaar |
I meditate, and sing of the Creator Lord.
ਜੇਹੜਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਸਿਰਜਣਹਾਰ ਕਰਤਾਰ ਦਾ ਧਿਆਨ ਧਰਦਾ ਹੈ ਕਰਤਾਰ ਦੇ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ,
ਭਉ ਨਾਹੀ ਸੁਖ ਸਹਜ ਅਨੰਦਾ ਅਨਿਕ ਓਹੀ ਰੇ ਏਕ ਸਮਾਰ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
bhau naahee sukh sehaj anandaa anik ohee re ek samaar |1| rahaau |
I have become fearless, and I have found peace, poise and bliss, remembering the infinite Lord. ||1||Pause||
ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਕੋਈ ਡਰ ਪੋਹ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਕਦਾ, ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਆਤਮਕ ਅਡੋਲਤਾ ਦੇ ਸੁਖ ਆਨੰਦ ਮਿਲੇ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ। ਉਹੀ ਇੱਕ ਹੈ ਤੇ ਉਹੀ ਅਨੇਕਾਂ ਰੂਪਾਂ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ, ਤੂੰ ਉਸ ਕਰਤਾਰ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਸਾਂਭ ਰੱਖ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ਸਫਲ ਮੂਰਤਿ ਗੁਰੁ ਮੇਰੈ ਮਾਥੈ ॥

The Guru, of the most fruitful image, has placed His hand upon my forehead.
ਜਿਸ ਗੁਰੂ ਦਾ ਦਰਸਨ ਜੀਵਨ ਦਾ ਫਲ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ ਉਹ ਮੇਰੇ ਮੱਥੇ ਉੱਤੇ (ਆਪਣਾ ਹੱਥ ਰੱਖਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਦੀ ਬਰਕਤਿ ਨਾਲ),
ਜਤ ਕਤ ਪੇਖਉ ਤਤ ਤਤ ਸਾਥੈ ॥
jat kat pekhau tat tat saathai |
Wherever I look, there, I find Him with me.
ਮੈਂ ਜਿਧਰ ਵੇਖਦਾ ਹਾਂ ਉਧਰ ਹੀ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਨਾਲ ਵੱਸਦਾ ਪ੍ਰਤੀਤ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਚਰਨ ਕਮਲ ਮੇਰੇ ਪ੍ਰਾਨ ਅਧਾਰ ॥੧॥

The Lotus Feet of the Lord are the Support of my very breath of life. ||1||
ਉਸ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਸੋਹਣੇ ਚਰਨ ਮੇਰੀ ਜਿੰਦ ਦਾ ਆਸਰਾ ਬਣ ਗਏ ਹਨ ॥੧॥
ਸਮਰਥ ਅਥਾਹ ਬਡਾ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਮੇਰਾ ॥
samarath athaah baddaa prabh meraa |
My God is all-powerful, unfathomable and utterly vast.
ਉਹ ਮੇਰਾ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਹਰ ਤਾਕਤ ਦਾ ਕਾਲਕ ਹੈ, ਬਹੁਤ ਡੂੰਗਾ ਹੈ ਤੇ ਵਢਾ ਹੈ।
ਘਟ ਘਟ ਅੰਤਰਿ ਸਾਹਿਬੁ ਨੇਰਾ ॥

The Lord and Master is close at hand - He dwells in each and every heart.
ਉਹ ਮਾਲਕ ਹਰ ਸਰੀਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਤੇ ਨੇੜੇ ਹੈ।
ਤਾਕੀ ਸਰਨਿ ਆਸਰ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਨਾਨਕ ਜਾ ਕਾ ਅੰਤੁ ਨ ਪਾਰਾਵਾਰ ॥੨॥੩॥੩੬॥
taakee saran aasar prabh naanak jaa kaa ant na paaraavaar |2|3|36|
Nanak seeks the Sanctuary and the Support of God, who has no end or limitation. ||2||3||36||
ਨਾਨਕ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਸਰਨ ਤੱਕੀ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਆਸਰਾ ਤੱਕਿਆ ਹੈ, ਜਿਸ (ਦੇ ਗੁਣਾਂ) ਦਾ ਅੰਤ ਨਹੀਂ ਪੈ ਸਕਦਾ ਤੇ ਜਿਸ (ਦੇ ਸਰੂਪ) ਦਾ ਉਰਲਾ ਪਾਰਲਾ ਬੰਨਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਲੱਭ ਸਕਦਾ ॥੨॥੩॥੩੬॥

ਉਲਟੀ ਰੇ ਮਨ ਉਲਟੀ ਰੇ ॥
aulattee re man ulattee re |
Turn away, O my mind, turn away.
ਹੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨ! ਜੇਹੜੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨਾਲੋਂ ਸਦਾ ਟੁੱਟੇ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨਾਲੋਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਆਪ ਨੂੰ ਸਦਾ ਪਰੇ ਰੱਖ, ਪਰੇ ਰੱਖ।
ਸਾਕਤ ਸਿਉ ਕਰਿ ਉਲਟੀ ਰੇ ॥

Turn away from the faithless cynic.
ਸਾਕਤ (ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨਾਲੋਂ ਟੁਟੇ ਹੋਏ, ਅਧਰਮੀ) ਨਾਲੋਂ ਟੁੱਟ ਜਾ!
ਝੂਠੈ ਕੀ ਰੇ ਝੂਠੁ ਪਰੀਤਿ ਛੁਟਕੀ ਰੇ ਮਨ ਛੁਟਕੀ ਰੇ ਸਾਕਤ ਸੰਗਿ ਨ ਛੁਟਕੀ ਰੇ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥

ਝੂਠੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੀ ਪ੍ਰੀਤ ਨੂੰ ਭੀ ਝੂਠ ਹੀ ਸਮਝ, ਇਹ ਕਦੇ ਤੋੜ ਨਹੀਂ ਨਿਭਦੀ, ਇਹ ਜ਼ਰੂਰ ਟੁੱਟ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ। ਫਿਰ, ਸਾਕਤ (ਅਧਰਮੀ) ਦੀ ਸੰਗਤ ਵਿਚ ਰਿਹਾਂ ਵਿਕਾਰਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਕਦੇ ਖ਼ਲਾਸੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੋ ਸਕਦੀ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ਜਿਉ ਕਾਜਰ ਭਰਿ ਮੰਦਰੁ ਰਾਖਿਓ ਜੋ ਪੈਸੈ ਕਾਲੂਖੀ ਰੇ ॥

One who enters a house filled with soot is blackened.
ਹੇ ਮਨ! ਜਿਵੇਂ ਕੋਈ ਘਰ ਕੱਜਲ ਨਾਲ ਭਰ ਲਿਆ ਜਾਏ, ਉਸ ਵਿਚ ਜੇਹੜਾ ਭੀ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਵੜੇਗਾ ਉਹ ਕਾਲਖ ਨਾਲ ਭਰ ਜਾਏਗਾ (ਤਿਵੇਂ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨਾਲੋਂ ਟੁੱਟੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨਾਲ ਮੂੰਹ ਜੋੜਿਆਂ ਵਿਕਾਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਕਾਲਖ ਹੀ ਮਿਲੇਗੀ)।
ਦੂਰਹੁ ਹੀ ਤੇ ਭਾਗਿ ਗਇਓ ਹੈ ਜਿਸੁ ਗੁਰ ਮਿਲਿ ਛੁਟਕੀ ਤ੍ਰਿਕੁਟੀ ਰੇ ॥੧॥
doorahu hee te bhaag geo hai jis gur mil chhuttakee trikuttee re |1|
Run far away from such people! One who meets the Guru escapes from the bondage of the three dispositions. ||1||
ਗੁਰੂ ਨੂੰ ਮਿਲ ਕੇ ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੀ ਮੱਥੇ ਦੀ ਤ੍ਰਿਊੜੀ ਮਿਟ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ (ਜਿਸ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰੋਂ ਵਿਕਾਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਖਿੱਚ ਦੂਰ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ) ਉਹ ਦੂਰ ਤੋਂ ਹੀ ਸਾਕਤ (ਅਧਰਮੀ) ਮਨੁੱਖ ਕੋਲੋਂ ਪਰੇ ਪਰੇ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੧॥
ਮਾਗਉ ਦਾਨੁ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾਲ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾ ਨਿਧਿ ਮੇਰਾ ਮੁਖੁ ਸਾਕਤ ਸੰਗਿ ਨ ਜੁਟਸੀ ਰੇ ॥
maagau daan kripaal kripaa nidh meraa mukh saakat sang na juttasee re |
I beg this blessing of You, O Merciful Lord, ocean of mercy - please, don't bring me face to face with the faithless cyincs.
ਹੇ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਦੇ ਘਰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਹੇ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਦੇ ਖ਼ਜ਼ਾਨੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਮੈਂ ਤੇਰੇ ਪਾਸੋਂ ਇਕ ਦਾਨ ਮੰਗਦਾ ਹਾਂ (ਮੇਹਰ ਕਰ) ਮੈਨੂੰ ਕਿਸੇ ਸਾਕਤ ਨਾਲ ਵਾਹ ਨਾਹ ਪਏ।
