ਕਰਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਅਪਨਾ ਦਰਸੁ ਦੀਜੈ ਜਸੁ ਗਾਵਉ ਨਿਸਿ ਅਰੁ ਭੋਰ ॥
kar kirapaa apanaa daras deejai jas gaavau nis ar bhor |
Show Mercy to me, and grant me the Blessed Vision of Your Darshan. I sing Your Praises night and day.
ਹੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਮਾਲਕ! ਮੇਹਰ ਕਰ, ਮੈਨੂੰ ਆਪਣਾ ਦਰਸਨ ਦੇਹ, ਮੈਂ ਦਿਨ ਰਾਤ ਤੇਰੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤਿ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਦਾ ਗੀਤ ਗਾਂਦਾ ਰਹਾਂ।
ਕੇਸ ਸੰਗਿ ਦਾਸ ਪਗ ਝਾਰਉ ਇਹੈ ਮਨੋਰਥ ਮੋਰ ॥੧॥
kes sang daas pag jhaarau ihai manorath mor |1|
With my hair, I wash the feet of Your slave this is my life's purpose. ||1||
ਆਪਣੇ ਕੇਸਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਮੈਂ ਤੇਰੇ ਸੇਵਕਾਂ ਦੇ ਪੈਰ ਝਾੜਦਾ ਰਹਾਂ-ਬੱਸ! ਇਹ ਹੀ ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨ ਦੀ ਤਾਂਘ ਹੈ ॥੧॥
ਠਾਕੁਰ ਤੁਝ ਬਿਨੁ ਬੀਆ ਨ ਹੋਰ ॥
tthaakur tujh bin beea na hor |
O Lord and Master, without You, there is no other at all.
ਹੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਮਾਲਕ! ਤੈਥੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ ਮੇਰਾ ਕੋਈ ਹੋਰ ਆਸਰਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ।
ਚਿਤਿ ਚਿਤਵਉ ਹਰਿ ਰਸਨ ਅਰਾਧਉ ਨਿਰਖਉ ਤੁਮਰੀ ਓਰ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
chit chitvau har rasan araadhau nirkhau tumaree or |1| rahaau |
O Lord, in my mind I remain conscious of You with my tongue I worship You, and with my eyes, I gaze upon You. ||1||Pause||
ਹੇ ਹਰੀ! ਮੈਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਚਿੱਤ ਵਿਚ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਹੀ ਯਾਦ ਕਰਦਾ ਹਾਂ, ਜੀਭ ਨਾਲ ਤੇਰੀ ਹੀ ਆਰਾਧਨਾ ਕਰਦਾ ਹਾਂ, (ਤੇ ਸਦਾ ਸਹਾਇਤਾ ਲਈ) ਤੇਰੇ ਵਲ ਹੀ ਤੱਕਦਾ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹਾਂ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ਦਇਆਲ ਪੁਰਖ ਸਰਬ ਕੇ ਠਾਕੁਰ ਬਿਨਉ ਕਰਉ ਕਰ ਜੋਰਿ ॥
deaal purakh sarab ke tthaakur binau krau kar jor |
O Merciful Lord, O Lord and Master of all, with my palms pressed together I pray to You.
ਹੇ ਦਇਆ ਦੇ ਘਰ! ਹੇ ਸਰਬ-ਵਿਆਪਕ! ਹੇ ਸਭਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਮਾਲਕ! ਮੈਂ ਦੋਵੇਂ ਹੱਥ ਜੋੜ ਕੇ ਤੇਰੇ ਅੱਗੇ ਬੇਨਤੀ ਕਰਦਾ ਹਾਂ,
ਨਾਮੁ ਜਪੈ ਨਾਨਕੁ ਦਾਸੁ ਤੁਮਰੋ ਉਧਰਸਿ ਆਖੀ ਫੋਰ ॥੨॥੧੧॥੨੦॥
naam japai naanak daas tumaro udharas aakhee for |2|11|20|
Nanak, Your slave, chants Your Name, and is redeemed in the twinkling of an eye. ||2||11||20||
(ਮੇਹਰ ਕਰ) ਤੇਰਾ ਦਾਸ ਨਾਨਕ (ਸਦਾ ਤੇਰਾ) ਨਾਮ ਜਪਦਾ ਰਹੇ। (ਜੇਹੜਾ) ਮਨੁੱਖ ਤੇਰਾ ਨਾਮ ਜਪਦਾ ਰਹੇਗਾ ਉਹ (ਸੰਸਾਰ-ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਵਿਚੋਂ) ਅੱਖ ਝਮਕਣ ਜਿਤਨੇ ਸਮੇ ਵਿਚ ਬਚ ਨਿਕਲੇਗਾ ॥੨॥੧੧॥੨੦॥

ਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਲੋਕ ਅਰੁ ਰੁਦ੍ਰ ਲੋਕ ਆਈ ਇੰਦ੍ਰ ਲੋਕ ਤੇ ਧਾਇ ॥
braham lok ar rudr lok aaee indr lok te dhaae |
Overwhelming the realm of Brahma, the realm of Shiva and the realm of Indra, Maya has come running here.
(ਮਾਇਆ ਬ੍ਰਹਮਾ ਸ਼ਿਵ ਇੰਦ੍ਰ ਆਦਿਕ ਦੇਵਤਿਆਂ ਉਤੇ ਭੀ ਆਪਣਾ (ਪ੍ਰਭਾਵ ਪਾ ਕੇ) ਬ੍ਰਹਮ-ਪੁਰੀ, ਸ਼ਿਵ-ਪੁਰੀ ਅਤੇ ਇੰਦ੍ਰ-ਪੁਰੀ ਤੋਂ ਹੱਲਾ ਕਰ ਕੇ (ਸੰਸਾਰਕ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਵਲ) ਆਈ ਹੈ।
ਸਾਧਸੰਗਤਿ ਕਉ ਜੋਹਿ ਨ ਸਾਕੈ ਮਲਿ ਮਲਿ ਧੋਵੈ ਪਾਇ ॥੧॥
saadhasangat kau johi na saakai mal mal dhovai paae |1|
But she cannot touch the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy she washes and massages their feet. ||1||
(ਪਰ) ਸਾਧ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਵਲ (ਤਾਂ ਇਹ ਮਾਇਆ) ਤੱਕ ਭੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਕਦੀ, (ਇਹ ਮਾਇਆ ਸਤਸੰਗੀਆਂ ਦੇ) ਪੈਰ ਮਲ ਮਲ ਕੇ ਧੋਂਦੀ ਹੈ ॥੧॥
ਅਬ ਮੋਹਿ ਆਇ ਪਰਿਓ ਸਰਨਾਇ ॥
ab mohi aae pario saranaae |
Now, I have come and entered the Lord's Sanctuary.
(ਸੰਸਾਰ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਇਆ ਦੀ ਤ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨਾ ਦੀ ਅੱਗ ਵਿਚ ਸੜਦਿਆਂ ਵੇਖ ਕੇ) ਹੁਣ ਮੈਂ (ਆਪਣੇ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ) ਸਰਨ ਆ ਪਿਆ ਹਾਂ।
ਗੁਹਜ ਪਾਵਕੋ ਬਹੁਤੁ ਪ੍ਰਜਾਰੈ ਮੋ ਕਉ ਸਤਿਗੁਰਿ ਦੀਓ ਹੈ ਬਤਾਇ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
guhaj paavako bahut prajaarai mo kau satigur deeo hai bataae |1| rahaau |
This awful fire has burned so many the True Guru has cautioned me about it. ||1||Pause||
(ਤ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨਾ ਦੀ) ਗੁੱਝੀ ਅੱਗ (ਸੰਸਾਰ ਨੂੰ) ਬਹੁਤ ਬੁਰੀ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਸਾੜ ਰਹੀ ਹੈ (ਇਸ ਤੋਂ ਬਚਣ ਲਈ) ਗੁਰੂ ਨੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ (ਤਰੀਕਾ) ਦੱਸ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ਸਿਧ ਸਾਧਿਕ ਅਰੁ ਜਖੵ ਕਿੰਨਰ ਨਰ ਰਹੀ ਕੰਠਿ ਉਰਝਾਇ ॥
sidh saadhik ar jakhay kinar nar rahee kantth urajhaae |
It clings to the necks of the Siddhas, and the seekers, the demi-gods, angels and mortals.
ਜੋਗ-ਸਾਧਨਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਪੁੱਗੇ ਹੋਏ ਜੋਗੀ, ਜੋਗ-ਸਾਧਨ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਸਾਧੂ, ਜਖ੍ਯ੍ਯ, ਕਿੰਨਰ, ਮਨੁੱਖ-ਇਹਨਾਂ ਸਭਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਗਲ ਨਾਲ ਮਾਇਆ ਚੰਬੜੀ ਰਹਿੰਦੀ ਹੈ।
ਜਨ ਨਾਨਕ ਅੰਗੁ ਕੀਆ ਪ੍ਰਭਿ ਕਰਤੈ ਜਾ ਕੈ ਕੋਟਿ ਐਸੀ ਦਾਸਾਇ ॥੨॥੧੨॥੨੧॥
jan naanak ang keea prabh karatai jaa kai kott aisee daasaae |2|12|21|
Servant Nanak has the support of God the Creator, who has millions of slaves like her. ||2||12||21||
ਪਰ, ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਆਪਣੇ ਦਾਸਾਂ ਦਾ ਪੱਖ ਉਸ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਕਰਤਾਰ ਨੇ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ ਜਿਸ ਦੇ ਦਰ ਤੇ ਇਹੋ ਜਿਹੀਆਂ (ਇਸ ਮਾਇਆ ਜਿਹੀਆਂ) ਕ੍ਰੋੜਾਂ ਹੀ ਦਾਸੀਆਂ ਹਨ ॥੨॥੧੨॥੨੧॥

Goojaree, Fifth Mehl:
ਅਪਜਸੁ ਮਿਟੈ ਹੋਵੈ ਜਗਿ ਕੀਰਤਿ ਦਰਗਹ ਬੈਸਣੁ ਪਾਈਐ ॥
apajas mittai hovai jag keerat daragah baisan paaeeai |
His bad reputation is erased, he is acclaimed all over the world, and he obtains a seat in the Court of the Lord.
(ਸਿਮਰਨ ਦੀ ਬਰਕਤਿ ਨਾਲ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੀ ਪਹਿਲੀ) ਬਦਨਾਮੀ ਮਿਟ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ, ਜਗਤ ਵਿਚ ਸੋਭਾ ਹੋਣ ਲੱਗ ਪੈਂਦੀ ਹੈ, ਤੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਦਰਗਾਹ ਵਿਚ ਬੈਠਣ ਲਈ ਥਾਂ ਮਿਲ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਜਮ ਕੀ ਤ੍ਰਾਸ ਨਾਸ ਹੋਇ ਖਿਨ ਮਹਿ ਸੁਖ ਅਨਦ ਸੇਤੀ ਘਰਿ ਜਾਈਐ ॥੧॥
jam kee traas naas hoe khin meh sukh anad setee ghar jaaeeai |1|
The fear of death is removed in an instant, and he goes to the Lord's House in peace and bliss. ||1||
(ਸਿਮਰਨ ਦੀ ਸਹਾਇਤਾ ਨਾਲ) ਮੌਤ ਦਾ ਸਹਮ ਇਕ ਖਿਨ ਵਿਚ ਮੁੱਕ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਸੁਖ ਅਨੰਦ ਨਾਲ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ-ਚਰਨਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਪਹੁੰਚ ਜਾਈਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੧॥
ਜਾ ਤੇ ਘਾਲ ਨ ਬਿਰਥੀ ਜਾਈਐ ॥
jaa te ghaal na birathee jaaeeai |
His works do not go in vain.
ਜਿਸ (ਸਿਮਰਨ) ਦੀ ਬਰਕਤਿ ਨਾਲ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੀ ਮੇਹਨਤ ਵਿਅਰਥ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾਂਦੀ,
ਆਠ ਪਹਰ ਸਿਮਰਹੁ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਅਪਨਾ ਮਨਿ ਤਨਿ ਸਦਾ ਧਿਆਈਐ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
aatth pehar simarahu prabh apanaa man tan sadaa dhiaaeeai |1| rahaau |
Twenty-four hours a day, remember your God in meditation meditate on Him continually in your mind and body. ||1||Pause||
ਅੱਠੇ ਪਹਰ ਆਪਣੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਕਰਦੇ ਰਹੋ। ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਸਦਾ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਧਿਆਨ ਧਰਨਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ਮੋਹਿ ਸਰਨਿ ਦੀਨ ਦੁਖ ਭੰਜਨ ਤੂੰ ਦੇਹਿ ਸੋਈ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਪਾਈਐ ॥
mohi saran deen dukh bhanjan toon dehi soee prabh paaeeai |
I seek Your Sanctuary, O Destroyer of the pains of the poor whatever You give me, God, that is what I receive.
ਹੇ ਦੀਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਦੁੱਖ ਨਾਸ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਮੈਂ ਤੇਰੀ ਸਰਨ ਆਇਆ ਹਾਂ। ਜੋ ਕੁਝ ਤੂੰ ਆਪ ਦੇਂਦਾ ਹੈਂ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਉਹੀ ਕੁਝ ਮਿਲ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਚਰਣ ਕਮਲ ਨਾਨਕ ਰੰਗਿ ਰਾਤੇ ਹਰਿ ਦਾਸਹ ਪੈਜ ਰਖਾਈਐ ॥੨॥੧੩॥੨੨॥
charan kamal naanak rang raate har daasah paij rakhaaeeai |2|13|22|
Nanak is imbued with the love of Your lotus feet O Lord, please preserve the honor of Your slave. ||2||13||22||
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! (ਆਖ-) ਤੇਰੇ ਦਾਸ ਤੇਰੇ ਸੋਹਣੇ ਕੋਮਲ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ-ਰੰਗ ਵਿਚ ਰੰਗੇ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਤੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਦਾਸਾਂ ਦੀ ਇੱਜ਼ਤ ਆਪ ਰੱਖਦਾ ਹੈਂ ॥੨॥੧੩॥੨੨॥

ਬਿਸ੍ਵੰਭਰ ਜੀਅਨ ਕੋ ਦਾਤਾ ਭਗਤਿ ਭਰੇ ਭੰਡਾਰ ॥
bisvanbhar jeean ko daataa bhagat bhare bhanddaar |
The all-sustaining Lord is the Giver of all beings His devotional worship is an overflowing treasure.
ਹੇ ਮਨ! ਉਹ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਸਾਰੇ ਜਗਤ ਨੂੰ ਪਾਲਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਸਾਰੇ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਦਾਤਾਂ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਦੇ ਖ਼ਜ਼ਾਨੇ ਭਗਤੀ (ਦੇ ਧਨ) ਨਾਲ ਭਰੇ ਪਏ ਹਨ।
ਜਾ ਕੀ ਸੇਵਾ ਨਿਫਲ ਨ ਹੋਵਤ ਖਿਨ ਮਹਿ ਕਰੇ ਉਧਾਰ ॥੧॥
jaa kee sevaa nifal na hovat khin meh kare udhaar |1|
Service to Him is not wasted in an instant, He emancipates. ||1||
ਉਸ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਕੀਤੀ ਹੋਈ ਸੇਵਾ ਭਗਤੀ ਵਿਅਰਥ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾਂਦੀ, (ਸੇਵਾ-ਭਗਤੀ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਦਾ) ਉਹ ਇਕ ਖਿਨ ਵਿਚ (ਸੰਸਾਰ-ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਤੋਂ) ਪਾਰ-ਉਤਾਰਾ ਕਰ ਦੇਂਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੧॥
ਮਨ ਮੇਰੇ ਚਰਨ ਕਮਲ ਸੰਗਿ ਰਾਚੁ ॥
man mere charan kamal sang raach |
O my mind, immerse yourself in the Lord's lotus feet.
ਹੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨ! ਤੂੰ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਸੋਹਣੇ ਕੋਮਲ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਪਿਆਰ ਕਰਿਆ ਕਰ,
ਸਗਲ ਜੀਅ ਜਾ ਕਉ ਆਰਾਧਹਿ ਤਾਹੂ ਕਉ ਤੂੰ ਜਾਚੁ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
sagal jeea jaa kau aaraadheh taahoo kau toon jaach |1| rahaau |
Seek from Him, who is worshipped by all beings. ||1||Pause||
ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ (ਸੰਸਾਰ ਦੇ) ਸਾਰੇ ਜੀਵ ਆਰਾਧਦੇ ਹਨ, ਤੂੰ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਹੀ ਦਰ ਤੋਂ ਮੰਗਿਆ ਕਰ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ਨਾਨਕ ਸਰਣਿ ਤੁਮੑਾਰੀ ਕਰਤੇ ਤੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਪ੍ਰਾਨ ਅਧਾਰ ॥
naanak saran tumaaree karate toon prabh praan adhaar |
Nanak has entered Your Sanctuary, O Creator Lord You, O God, are the support of my breath of life.
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! (ਆਖ-) ਹੇ ਕਰਤਾਰ! ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਮੈਂ ਤੇਰੀ ਸਰਨ ਆਇਆ ਹਾਂ, ਤੂੰ ਹੀ ਮੇਰੀ ਜਿੰਦ ਦਾ ਆਸਰਾ ਹੈਂ।
ਹੋਇ ਸਹਾਈ ਜਿਸੁ ਤੂੰ ਰਾਖਹਿ ਤਿਸੁ ਕਹਾ ਕਰੇ ਸੰਸਾਰੁ ॥੨॥੧੪॥੨੩॥
hoe sahaaee jis toon raakheh tis kahaa kare sansaar |2|14|23|
He who is protected by You, O Helper Lord - what can the world do to him? ||2||14||23||
ਮਦਦਗਾਰ ਬਣ ਕੇ ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੀ ਤੂੰ ਰਾਖੀ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈਂ, ਸਾਰਾ ਜਗਤ (ਭੀ ਜੇ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਵੈਰੀ ਬਣ ਜਾਏ ਤਾਂ) ਉਸ ਦਾ ਕੁਝ ਭੀ ਵਿਗਾੜ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਕਦਾ ॥੨॥੧੪॥੨੩॥

ਜਨ ਕੀ ਪੈਜ ਸਵਾਰੀ ਆਪ ॥

The Lord Himself has protected the honor of His humble servant.
ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਆਪਣੇ ਸੇਵਕ ਦੀ ਇੱਜ਼ਤ ਆਪ ਵਧਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਦੀਓ ਗੁਰਿ ਅਵਖਧੁ ਉਤਰਿ ਗਇਓ ਸਭੁ ਤਾਪ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
har har naam deeo gur avakhadh utar geo sabh taap |1| rahaau |
The Guru has given the medicine of the Lord's Name, Har, Har, and all afflictions are gone. ||1||Pause||
(ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਦਵਾਈ ਹੈ) ਗੁਰੂ ਨੇ ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੂੰ ਹਰਿ-ਨਾਮ ਦੀ ਦਵਾਈ ਦੇ ਦਿੱਤੀ, ਉਸ ਦਾ ਹਰੇਕ ਕਿਸਮ ਦਾ ਤਾਪ (ਦੁੱਖ-ਕਲੇਸ਼) ਦੂਰ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ਹਰਿਗੋਬਿੰਦੁ ਰਖਿਓ ਪਰਮੇਸਰਿ ਅਪੁਨੀ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਧਾਰਿ ॥
harigobind rakhio paramesar apunee kirapaa dhaar |
The Transcendent Lord, in His Mercy, has preserved Har Gobind.
(ਕਮਜ਼ੋਰ-ਦਿਲ ਲੋਕ ਦੇਵੀ ਦੀ ਪੂਜਾ ਨੂੰ ਤੁਰ ਪੈਂਦੇ ਹਨ, ਪਰ ਵੇਖੋ! (ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨੇ ਮੇਹਰ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਹਰਿ ਗੋਬਿੰਦ (ਜੀ) ਨੂੰ ਆਪ (ਚੇਚਕ ਦੇ ਤਾਪ ਤੋਂ) ਬਚਾ ਲਿਆ।
ਮਿਟੀ ਬਿਆਧਿ ਸਰਬ ਸੁਖ ਹੋਏ ਹਰਿ ਗੁਣ ਸਦਾ ਬੀਚਾਰਿ ॥੧॥
mittee biaadh sarab sukh hoe har gun sadaa beechaar |1|
The disease is over, and there is joy all around we ever contemplate the Glories of God. ||1||
ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਗੁਣਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਟਿਕਾ ਕੇ ਹਰੇਕ ਰੋਗ ਦੂਰ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਸਾਰੇ ਸੁਖ ਹੀ ਸੁਖ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ ॥੧॥
ਅੰਗੀਕਾਰੁ ਕੀਓ ਮੇਰੈ ਕਰਤੈ ਗੁਰ ਪੂਰੇ ਕੀ ਵਡਿਆਈ ॥

My Creator Lord has made me His own such is the glorious greatness of the Perfect Guru.
ਮੇਰੇ ਕਰਤਾਰ ਨੇ (ਡੋਲਣ ਤੋਂ ਬਚਾ ਕੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ) ਆਪਣੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਜੋੜੀ ਰੱਖਿਆ-ਇਹ ਸਾਰੀ ਪੂਰੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਵਡਿਆਈ (ਦਾ ਸਦਕਾ) ਸੀ।
ਅਬਿਚਲ ਨੀਵ ਧਰੀ ਗੁਰ ਨਾਨਕ ਨਿਤ ਨਿਤ ਚੜੈ ਸਵਾਈ ॥੨॥੧੫॥੨੪॥

Guru Nanak laid the immovable foundation, which grows higher and higher each day. ||2||15||24||
ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਰੱਖੀ ਹੋਈ ਹਰਿ-ਨਾਮ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਦੀ ਨੀਂਹ ਕਦੇ ਡੋਲਣ ਵਾਲੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ। ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! (ਆਖ-) (ਇਹ ਨੀਂਹ ਜਿਸ ਹਿਰਦੇ-ਧਰਤੀ ਵਿਚ ਰੱਖੀ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ, ਉਥੇ) ਸਦਾ ਹੀ ਵਧਦੀ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ ॥੨॥੧੫॥੨੪॥

You never focused your consciousness on the Lord.
(ਮਾਇਆ-ਮੋਹਿਆ ਜੀਵ) ਕਦੇ ਆਪਣਾ ਮਨ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ (ਦੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ) ਨਾਲ ਨਹੀਂ ਜੋੜਦਾ।
