ਅੰਤੁ ਨਹੀ ਕਿਛੁ ਪਾਰਾਵਾਰਾ ॥
ant nahee kichh paaraavaaraa |
He has no end or limitation.
(ਉਸ ਦੀ ਤਾਕਤ) ਦਾ ਕੋਈ ਹੱਦ-ਬੰਨਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ।
ਹੁਕਮੇ ਧਾਰਿ ਅਧਰ ਰਹਾਵੈ ॥
hukame dhaar adhar rahaavai |
By His Order, He established the earth, and He maintains it unsupported.
(ਸ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਟੀ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ) ਹੁਕਮ ਵਿਚ ਪੈਦਾ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਬਿਨਾ ਕਿਸੇ ਆਸਰੇ ਟਿਕਾ ਰੱਖਦਾ ਹੈ,
ਹੁਕਮੇ ਉਪਜੈ ਹੁਕਮਿ ਸਮਾਵੈ ॥
hukame upajai hukam samaavai |
By His Order, the world was created by His Order, it shall merge again into Him.
(ਜਗਤ ਉਸ ਦੇ) ਹੁਕਮ ਵਿਚ ਪੈਦਾ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ ਤੇ ਹੁਕਮ ਵਿਚ ਲੀਨ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਹੁਕਮੇ ਊਚ ਨੀਚ ਬਿਉਹਾਰ ॥
hukame aooch neech biauhaar |
By His Order, one's occupation is high or low.
ਉੱਚੇ ਤੇ ਨੀਵੇਂ ਬੰਦਿਆਂ ਦੀ ਵਰਤੋਂ ਭੀ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਹੁਕਮ ਵਿਚ ਹੀ ਹੈ,
ਹੁਕਮੇ ਅਨਿਕ ਰੰਗ ਪਰਕਾਰ ॥
hukame anik rang parakaar |
By His Order, there are so many colors and forms.
ਅਨੇਕਾਂ ਕਿਸਮਾਂ ਦੇ ਖੇਡ-ਤਮਾਸ਼ੇ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਹੁਕਮ ਵਿਚ ਹੋ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ।
ਕਰਿ ਕਰਿ ਦੇਖੈ ਅਪਨੀ ਵਡਿਆਈ ॥
kar kar dekhai apanee vaddiaaee |
Having created the Creation, He beholds His own greatness.
ਆਪਣੀ ਬਜ਼ੁਰਗੀ (ਦੇ ਕੰਮ) ਕਰ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਵੇਖ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ।
ਨਾਨਕ ਸਭ ਮਹਿ ਰਹਿਆ ਸਮਾਈ ॥੧॥
naanak sabh meh rahiaa samaaee |1|
O Nanak, He is pervading in all. ||1||
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਸਭ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਵਿਆਪਕ ਹੈ ॥੧॥
ਪ੍ਰਭ ਭਾਵੈ ਮਾਨੁਖ ਗਤਿ ਪਾਵੈ ॥
prabh bhaavai maanukh gat paavai |
If it pleases God, one attains salvation.
ਜੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੂੰ ਚੰਗੀ ਲੱਗੇ ਤਾਂ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੂੰ ਉੱਚੀ ਆਤਮਕ ਅਵਸਥਾ ਦੇਂਦਾ ਹੈ,
ਪ੍ਰਭ ਭਾਵੈ ਤਾ ਪਾਥਰ ਤਰਾਵੈ ॥
prabh bhaavai taa paathar taraavai |
If it pleases God, then even stones can swim.
ਅਤੇ ਪੱਥਰ (-ਦਿਲਾਂ) ਨੂੰ ਭੀ ਤਾਰ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਪ੍ਰਭ ਭਾਵੈ ਬਿਨੁ ਸਾਸ ਤੇ ਰਾਖੈ ॥
prabh bhaavai bin saas te raakhai |
If it pleases God, the body is preserved, even without the breath of life.
ਜੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਚਾਹੇ ਤਾਂ ਸੁਆਸਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ ਭੀ ਪ੍ਰਾਣੀ ਨੂੰ (ਮੌਤ ਤੋਂ) ਬਚਾ ਰੱਖਦਾ ਹੈ,
ਪ੍ਰਭ ਭਾਵੈ ਤਾ ਹਰਿ ਗੁਣ ਭਾਖੈ ॥
prabh bhaavai taa har gun bhaakhai |
If it pleases God, then one chants the Lord's Glorious Praises.
ਉਸ ਦੀ ਮੇਹਰ ਹੋਵੇ ਤਾਂ ਜੀਵ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਪ੍ਰਭ ਭਾਵੈ ਤਾ ਪਤਿਤ ਉਧਾਰੈ ॥
prabh bhaavai taa patit udhaarai |
If it pleases God, then even sinners are saved.
ਜੇ ਅਕਾਲ ਪੁਰਖ ਦੀ ਰਜ਼ਾ ਹੋਵੇ ਤਾਂ ਗਿਰੇ ਹੋਏ ਚਲਨ ਵਾਲਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ (ਵਿਕਾਰਾਂ ਤੋਂ) ਬਚਾ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ
ਆਪਿ ਕਰੈ ਆਪਨ ਬੀਚਾਰੈ ॥
aap karai aapan beechaarai |
He Himself acts, and He Himself contemplates.
ਜੋ ਕੁਝ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਆਪਣੀ ਸਲਾਹ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਦੁਹਾ ਸਿਰਿਆ ਕਾ ਆਪਿ ਸੁਆਮੀ ॥
duhaa siriaa kaa aap suaamee |
He Himself is the Master of both worlds.
ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਲੋਕ ਪਰਲੋਕ ਦਾ ਮਾਲਕ ਹੈ,
ਖੇਲੈ ਬਿਗਸੈ ਅੰਤਰਜਾਮੀ ॥
khelai bigasai antarajaamee |
He plays and He enjoys He is the Inner-knower, the Searcher of hearts.
ਉਹ ਸਭ ਦੇ ਦਿਲ ਦੀ ਜਾਣਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਆਪ ਜਗਤ-ਖੇਡ ਖੇਡਦਾ ਹੈ ਤੇ (ਇਸ ਨੂੰ ਵੇਖ ਕੇ) ਖ਼ੁਸ਼ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਜੋ ਭਾਵੈ ਸੋ ਕਾਰ ਕਰਾਵੈ ॥
jo bhaavai so kaar karaavai |
As He wills, He causes actions to be done.
ਜੋ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਚੰਗਾ ਲੱਗਦਾ ਹੈ ਉਹੀ ਕੰਮ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਨਾਨਕ ਦ੍ਰਿਸਟੀ ਅਵਰੁ ਨ ਆਵੈ ॥੨॥
naanak drisattee avar na aavai |2|
Nanak sees no other than Him. ||2||
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! (ਉਸ ਵਰਗਾ) ਕੋਈ ਹੋਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਦਿੱਸਦਾ ॥੨॥
ਕਹੁ ਮਾਨੁਖ ਤੇ ਕਿਆ ਹੋਇ ਆਵੈ ॥
kahu maanukh te kiaa hoe aavai |
Tell me - what can a mere mortal do?
ਦੱਸੋ, ਮਨੁੱਖ ਪਾਸੋਂ (ਆਪਣੇ ਆਪ) ਕੇਹੜਾ ਕੰਮ ਹੋ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ?
ਜੋ ਤਿਸੁ ਭਾਵੈ ਸੋਈ ਕਰਾਵੈ ॥
jo tis bhaavai soee karaavai |
Whatever pleases God is what He causes us to do.
ਜੋ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੂੰ ਚੰਗਾ ਲੱਗਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹੀ (ਜੀਵ ਪਾਸੋਂ) ਕਰਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਇਸ ਕੈ ਹਾਥਿ ਹੋਇ ਤਾ ਸਭੁ ਕਿਛੁ ਲੇਇ ॥
eis kai haath hoe taa sabh kichh lee |
If it were in our hands, we would grab up everything.
ਇਸ (ਮਨੁੱਖ) ਦੇ ਵੱਸ ਹੋਵੇ ਤਾਂ ਹਰੇਕ ਚੀਜ਼ ਸਾਂਭ ਲਏ,
ਜੋ ਤਿਸੁ ਭਾਵੈ ਸੋਈ ਕਰੇਇ ॥
jo tis bhaavai soee karee |
Whatever pleases God - that is what He does.
(ਪਰ) ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਉਹੀ ਕੁਝ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ ਜੋ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਭਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਅਨਜਾਨਤ ਬਿਖਿਆ ਮਹਿ ਰਚੈ ॥
anajaanat bikhiaa meh rachai |
Through ignorance, people are engrossed in corruption.
ਮੂਰਖਤਾ ਦੇ ਕਾਰਣ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਮਾਇਆ ਵਿਚ ਰੁੱਝ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ,
ਜੇ ਜਾਨਤ ਆਪਨ ਆਪ ਬਚੈ ॥
je jaanat aapan aap bachai |
If they knew better, they would save themselves.
ਜੇ ਸਮਝ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੋਵੇ ਤਾਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਆਪ (ਇਸ ਤੋਂ) ਬਚਿਆ ਰਹੇ
ਭਰਮੇ ਭੂਲਾ ਦਹ ਦਿਸਿ ਧਾਵੈ ॥
bharame bhoolaa deh dis dhaavai |
Deluded by doubt, they wander around in the ten directions.
(ਪਰ ਇਸ ਦਾ ਮਨ) ਭੁਲੇਖੇ ਵਿਚ ਭੁੱਲਾ ਹੋਇਆ (ਮਾਇਆ ਦੀ ਖ਼ਾਤਿਰ) ਦਸੀਂ ਪਾਸੀਂ ਦੌੜਦਾ ਹੈ,
ਨਿਮਖ ਮਾਹਿ ਚਾਰਿ ਕੁੰਟ ਫਿਰਿ ਆਵੈ ॥
nimakh maeh chaar kuntt fir aavai |
In an instant, their minds go around the four corners of the world and come back again.
ਅੱਖ ਦੇ ਫੋਰ ਵਿਚ ਚਹੁੰ ਕੂਟਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਭੱਜ ਦੌੜ ਆਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਕਰਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਜਿਸੁ ਅਪਨੀ ਭਗਤਿ ਦੇਇ ॥
kar kirapaa jis apanee bhagat dee |
Those whom the Lord mercifully blesses with His devotional worship
(ਪ੍ਰਭੂ) ਮੇਹਰ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਜਿਸ ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੀ ਭਗਤੀ ਬਖ਼ਸ਼ਦਾ ਹੈ,
ਨਾਨਕ ਤੇ ਜਨ ਨਾਮਿ ਮਿਲੇਇ ॥੩॥
naanak te jan naam milee |3|
- O Nanak, they are absorbed into the Naam. ||3||
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਉਹ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨਾਮ ਵਿਚ ਟਿਕੇ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ ॥੩॥
ਖਿਨ ਮਹਿ ਨੀਚ ਕੀਟ ਕਉ ਰਾਜ ॥
khin meh neech keett kau raaj |
In an instant, the lowly worm is transformed into a king.
ਖਿਣ ਵਿਚ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਕੀੜੇ (ਵਰਗੇ) ਨੀਵੇਂ (ਮਨੁੱਖ) ਨੂੰ ਰਾਜ ਦੇ ਦੇਂਦਾ ਹੈ,
ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਗਰੀਬ ਨਿਵਾਜ ॥
paarabraham gareeb nivaaj |
The Supreme Lord God is the Protector of the humble.
ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਗ਼ਰੀਬਾਂ ਤੇ ਮੇਹਰ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ।
ਜਾ ਕਾ ਦ੍ਰਿਸਟਿ ਕਛੂ ਨ ਆਵੈ ॥
jaa kaa drisatt kachhoo na aavai |
Even one who has never been seen at all,
ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦਾ ਕੋਈ ਗੁਣ ਨਹੀਂ ਦਿੱਸ ਆਉਂਦਾ,
ਤਿਸੁ ਤਤਕਾਲ ਦਹ ਦਿਸ ਪ੍ਰਗਟਾਵੈ ॥
tis tatakaal deh dis pragattaavai |
becomes instantly famous in the ten directions.
ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਪਲਕ ਵਿਚ ਦਸੀਂ ਪਾਸੀਂ ਉੱਘਾ ਕਰ ਦੇਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਜਾ ਕਉ ਅਪੁਨੀ ਕਰੈ ਬਖਸੀਸ ॥
jaa kau apunee karai bakhasees |
And that one upon whom He bestows His blessings
ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਤੇ ਜਗਤ ਦਾ ਮਾਲਕ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਆਪਣੀ ਬਖ਼ਸ਼ਸ਼ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ
ਤਾ ਕਾ ਲੇਖਾ ਨ ਗਨੈ ਜਗਦੀਸ ॥
taa kaa lekhaa na ganai jagadees |
the Lord of the world does not hold him to his account.
ਉਸ ਦਾ (ਕਰਮਾਂ ਦਾ) ਲੇਖਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਗਿਣਦਾ।
ਜੀਉ ਪਿੰਡੁ ਸਭ ਤਿਸ ਕੀ ਰਾਸਿ ॥
jeeo pindd sabh tis kee raas |
Soul and body are all His property.
ਇਹ ਜਿੰਦ ਤੇ ਸਰੀਰ ਸਭ ਉਸ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਹੋਈ ਪੂੰਜੀ ਹੈ,
ਘਟਿ ਘਟਿ ਪੂਰਨ ਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਪ੍ਰਗਾਸ ॥
ghatt ghatt pooran braham pragaas |
Each and every heart is illuminated by the Perfect Lord God.
ਹਰੇਕ ਸਰੀਰ ਵਿਚ ਵਿਆਪਕ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਹੀ ਜਲਵਾ ਹੈ।
ਅਪਨੀ ਬਣਤ ਆਪਿ ਬਨਾਈ ॥
apanee banat aap banaaee |
He Himself fashioned His own handiwork.
ਇਹ (ਜਗਤ-) ਰਚਨਾ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਆਪ ਰਚੀ ਹੈ।
ਨਾਨਕ ਜੀਵੈ ਦੇਖਿ ਬਡਾਈ ॥੪॥
naanak jeevai dekh baddaaee |4|
Nanak lives by beholding His greatness. ||4||
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਆਪਣੀ (ਇਸ) ਬਜ਼ੁਰਗੀ ਨੂੰ ਆਪ ਵੇਖ ਕੇ ਖ਼ੁਸ਼ ਹੋ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ ॥੪॥
ਇਸ ਕਾ ਬਲੁ ਨਾਹੀ ਇਸੁ ਹਾਥ ॥
eis kaa bal naahee is haath |
There is no power in the hands of mortal beings
ਇਸ (ਜੀਵ) ਦੀ ਤਾਕਤ ਇਸ ਦੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਹੱਥ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ,
ਕਰਨ ਕਰਾਵਨ ਸਰਬ ਕੋ ਨਾਥ ॥
karan karaavan sarab ko naath |
the Doer, the Cause of causes is the Lord of all.
ਸਭ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਦਾ ਮਾਲਕ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਆਪ ਸਭ ਕੁਝ ਕਰਨ ਕਰਾਉਣ ਦੇ ਸਮਰੱਥ ਹੈ।
ਆਗਿਆਕਾਰੀ ਬਪੁਰਾ ਜੀਉ ॥
aagiaakaaree bapuraa jeeo |
The helpless beings are subject to His Command.
ਵਿਚਾਰਾ ਜੀਵ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਹੁਕਮ ਵਿਚ ਹੀ ਤੁਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ,
ਜੋ ਤਿਸੁ ਭਾਵੈ ਸੋਈ ਫੁਨਿ ਥੀਉ ॥
jo tis bhaavai soee fun theeo |
That which pleases Him, ultimately comes to pass.
(ਕਿਉਂਕਿ) ਹੁੰਦਾ ਓਹੀ ਹੈ ਜੋ ਉਸ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੂੰ ਭਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਕਬਹੂ ਊਚ ਨੀਚ ਮਹਿ ਬਸੈ ॥
kabahoo aooch neech meh basai |
Sometimes, they abide in exaltation sometimes, they are depressed.
(ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਆਪ) ਕਦੇ ਉੱਚਿਆਂ ਵਿਚ ਕਦੇ ਨੀਵਿਆਂ ਵਿਚ ਪ੍ਰਗਟ ਹੋ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ,
ਕਬਹੂ ਸੋਗ ਹਰਖ ਰੰਗਿ ਹਸੈ ॥
kabahoo sog harakh rang hasai |
Sometimes, they are sad, and sometimes they laugh with joy and delight.
ਕਦੇ ਚਿੰਤਾ ਵਿਚ ਹੈ ਤੇ ਕਦੇ ਖੁਸ਼ੀ ਦੀ ਮੌਜ ਵਿਚ ਹੱਸ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ
ਕਬਹੂ ਨਿੰਦ ਚਿੰਦ ਬਿਉਹਾਰ ॥
kabahoo nind chind biauhaar |
Sometimes, they are occupied with slander and anxiety.
ਕਦੇ (ਦੂਜਿਆਂ ਦੀ) ਨਿੰਦਿਆ ਵਿਚਾਰਨ ਦਾ ਵਿਹਾਰ ਬਣਾਈ ਬੈਠਾ ਹੈ,
ਕਬਹੂ ਊਭ ਅਕਾਸ ਪਇਆਲ ॥
kabahoo aoobh akaas peaal |
Sometimes, they are high in the Akaashic Ethers, sometimes in the nether regions of the underworld.
ਕਦੇ (ਖ਼ੁਸ਼ੀ ਦੇ ਕਾਰਣ) ਅਕਾਸ਼ ਵਿਚ ਉੱਚਾ (ਚੜ੍ਹਦਾ ਹੈ) (ਕਦੇ ਚਿੰਤਾ ਦੇ ਕਾਰਣ) ਪਤਾਲ ਵਿਚ (ਡਿੱਗਾ ਪਿਆ ਹੈ)
ਕਬਹੂ ਬੇਤਾ ਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਬੀਚਾਰ ॥
kabahoo betaa braham beechaar |
Sometimes, they know the contemplation of God.
ਕਦੇ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਰੱਬੀ ਵਿਚਾਰ ਦਾ ਮਹਰਮ ਹੈ।
ਨਾਨਕ ਆਪਿ ਮਿਲਾਵਣਹਾਰ ॥੫॥
naanak aap milaavanahaar |5|
O Nanak, God Himself unites them with Himself. ||5||
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਜੀਵਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਵਿਚ ਮੇਲਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਹੈ ॥੫॥
ਕਬਹੂ ਨਿਰਤਿ ਕਰੈ ਬਹੁ ਭਾਤਿ ॥
kabahoo nirat karai bahu bhaat |
Sometimes, they dance in various ways.
(ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਵਿਆਪਕ ਹੋ ਕੇ) ਕਦੇ ਕਈ ਕਿਸਮਾਂ ਦੇ ਨਾਚ ਕਰ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ,
ਕਬਹੂ ਸੋਇ ਰਹੈ ਦਿਨੁ ਰਾਤਿ ॥
kabahoo soe rahai din raat |
Sometimes, they remain asleep day and night.
ਕਦੇ ਦਿਨੇ ਰਾਤ ਸੁੱਤਾ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਕਬਹੂ ਮਹਾ ਕ੍ਰੋਧ ਬਿਕਰਾਲ ॥
kabahoo mahaa krodh bikaraal |
Sometimes, they are awesome, in terrible rage.
ਕਦੇ ਕ੍ਰੋਧ (ਵਿਚ ਆ ਕੇ) ਬੜਾ ਡਰਾਉਣਾ (ਲੱਗਦਾ ਹੈ),
ਕਬਹੂੰ ਸਰਬ ਕੀ ਹੋਤ ਰਵਾਲ ॥
kabahoon sarab kee hot ravaal |
Sometimes, they are the dust of the feet of all.
ਕਦੇ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਦੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਧੂੜ (ਬਣਿਆ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ)
ਕਬਹੂ ਹੋਇ ਬਹੈ ਬਡ ਰਾਜਾ ॥
kabahoo hoe bahai badd raajaa |
Sometimes, they sit as great kings.
ਕਦੇ ਵੱਡਾ ਰਾਜਾ ਬਣ ਬੈਠਦਾ ਹੈ,
ਕਬਹੁ ਭੇਖਾਰੀ ਨੀਚ ਕਾ ਸਾਜਾ ॥
kabahu bhekhaaree neech kaa saajaa |
Sometimes, they wear the coat of a lowly beggar.
ਕਦੇ ਇਕ ਨੀਵੀਂ ਜਾਤਿ ਦੇ ਮੰਗਤੇ ਦਾ ਸਾਂਗ (ਬਣਾ ਰੱਖਿਆ ਹੈ)
ਕਬਹੂ ਅਪਕੀਰਤਿ ਮਹਿ ਆਵੈ ॥
kabahoo apakeerat meh aavai |
Sometimes, they come to have evil reputations.
ਕਦੇ ਆਪਣੀ ਬਦਨਾਮੀ ਕਰਾ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ,
ਕਬਹੂ ਭਲਾ ਭਲਾ ਕਹਾਵੈ ॥
kabahoo bhalaa bhalaa kahaavai |
Sometimes, they are known as very, very good.
ਕਦੇ ਚੰਗਾ ਅਖਵਾ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ
ਜਿਉ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਰਾਖੈ ਤਿਵ ਹੀ ਰਹੈ ॥
jiau prabh raakhai tiv hee rahai |
As God keeps them, so they remain.
ਜੀਵ ਉਸੇ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਜੀਵਨ ਬਿਤੀਤ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ ਜਿਵੇਂ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਕਰਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਗੁਰ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ਨਾਨਕ ਸਚੁ ਕਹੈ ॥੬॥
gur prasaad naanak sach kahai |6|
By Guru's Grace, O Nanak, the Truth is told. ||6||
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! (ਕੋਈ ਵਿਰਲਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ) ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਨਾਲ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੂੰ ਸਿਮਰਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੬॥
ਕਬਹੂ ਹੋਇ ਪੰਡਿਤੁ ਕਰੇ ਬਖੵਾਨੁ ॥
kabahoo hoe panddit kare bakhayaan |
Sometimes, as scholars, they deliver lectures.
(ਸਰਬ-ਵਿਆਪੀ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ) ਕਦੇ ਪੰਡਤ ਬਣ ਕੇ (ਦੂਜਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ) ਉਪਦੇਸ਼ ਕਰ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ,
ਕਬਹੂ ਮੋਨਿਧਾਰੀ ਲਾਵੈ ਧਿਆਨੁ ॥
kabahoo monidhaaree laavai dhiaan |
Sometimes, they hold to silence in deep meditation.
ਕਦੇ ਮੋਨੀ ਸਾਧੂ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਸਮਾਧੀ ਲਾਈ ਬੈਠਾ ਹੈ
ਕਬਹੂ ਤਟ ਤੀਰਥ ਇਸਨਾਨ ॥
kabahoo tatt teerath isanaan |
Sometimes, they take cleansing baths at places of pilgrimage.
ਕਦੇ ਤੀਰਥਾਂ ਦੇ ਕਿਨਾਰੇ ਇਸ਼ਨਾਨ ਕਰ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ,
ਕਬਹੂ ਸਿਧ ਸਾਧਿਕ ਮੁਖਿ ਗਿਆਨ ॥
kabahoo sidh saadhik mukh giaan |
Sometimes, as Siddhas or seekers, they impart spiritual wisdom.
ਕਦੇ ਸਿੱਧ ਤੇ ਸਾਧਿਕ (ਦੇ ਰੂਪ ਵਿਚ) ਮੂੰਹੋਂ ਗਿਆਨ ਦੀਆਂ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ
ਕਬਹੂ ਕੀਟ ਹਸਤਿ ਪਤੰਗ ਹੋਇ ਜੀਆ ॥
kabahoo keett hasat patang hoe jeea |
Sometimes, they becomes worms, elephants, or moths.
ਕਦੇ ਕੀੜੇ ਹਾਥੀ ਭੰਬਟ (ਆਦਿਕ) ਜੀਵ ਬਣਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ,
ਅਨਿਕ ਜੋਨਿ ਭਰਮੈ ਭਰਮੀਆ ॥
anik jon bharamai bharameea |
They may wander and roam through countless incarnations.
ਅਤੇ (ਆਪਣਾ ਹੀ) ਭਵਾਇਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਕਈ ਜੂਨਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਭਉਂ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ
