ਪੂਰਾ ਭਾਗੁ ਹੋਵੈ ਮੁਖਿ ਮਸਤਕਿ ਸਦਾ ਹਰਿ ਕੇ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਹਿ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
pooraa bhaag hovai mukh masatak sadaa har ke gun gaeh |1| rahaau |
Perfect destiny is inscribed upon your forehead and face sing the Praises of the Lord forever. ||1||Pause||
(ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸਰਨ ਪੈ ਕੇ) ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਗੁਣਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਚੁੱਭੀ ਲਾਇਆ ਕਰ। ਤੇਰੇ ਮੱਥੇ ਉੱਤੇ ਪੂਰੀ ਕਿਸਮਤ ਜਾਗ ਪਵੇਗੀ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਨਾਮੁ ਭੋਜਨੁ ਹਰਿ ਦੇਇ ॥

The Lord bestows the Ambrosial Food of the Naam.
(ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਉਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੂੰ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਜਿੰਦ ਵਾਸਤੇ) ਖ਼ੁਰਾਕ (ਆਪਣਾ) ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਨਾਮ ਬਖ਼ਸ਼ਦਾ ਹੈ,
ਕੋਟਿ ਮਧੇ ਕੋਈ ਵਿਰਲਾ ਲੇਇ ॥
kott madhe koee viralaa lee |
Out of millions, only a rare few receive it
(ਪਰ) ਕ੍ਰੋੜਾਂ ਵਿਚੋਂ ਕੋਈ ਵਿਰਲਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਹੀ (ਇਹ ਦਾਤਿ) ਹਾਸਲ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ,
ਜਿਸ ਨੋ ਅਪਣੀ ਨਦਰਿ ਕਰੇਇ ॥੧॥
jis no apanee nadar karee |1|
- only those who are blessed by God's Glance of Grace. ||1||
ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਉਤੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਆਪਣੀ ਮਿਹਰ ਦੀ ਨਿਗਾਹ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੧॥
ਗੁਰ ਕੇ ਚਰਣ ਮਨ ਮਾਹਿ ਵਸਾਇ ॥
gur ke charan man maeh vasaae |
Whoever enshrines the Guru's Feet within his mind,
ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ (ਸੋਹਣੇ) ਚਰਨ (ਆਪਣੇ) ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਟਿਕਾਈ ਰੱਖ,
ਦੁਖੁ ਅਨੑੇਰਾ ਅੰਦਰਹੁ ਜਾਇ ॥
dukh anaeraa andarahu jaae |
is rid of pain and darkness from within.
(ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ) ਮਨ ਵਿਚੋਂ (ਹਰੇਕ) ਦੁੱਖ ਦੂਰ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, (ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਵਲੋਂ) ਬੇ-ਸਮਝੀ ਦਾ ਹਨੇਰਾ ਹਟ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ,
ਆਪੇ ਸਾਚਾ ਲਏ ਮਿਲਾਇ ॥੨॥
aape saachaa le milaae |2|
The True Lord unites him with Himself. ||2||
(ਅਤੇ) ਸਦਾ ਕਾਇਮ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਆਪ ਹੀ (ਜੀਵ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਨਾਲ) ਮਿਲਾ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੨॥
ਗੁਰ ਕੀ ਬਾਣੀ ਸਿਉ ਲਾਇ ਪਿਆਰੁ ॥
gur kee baanee siau laae piaar |
So embrace love for the Word of the Guru's Bani.
ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਬਾਣੀ ਨਾਲ ਪਿਆਰ ਜੋੜ।
ਐਥੈ ਓਥੈ ਏਹੁ ਅਧਾਰੁ ॥
aithai othai ehu adhaar |
Here and hereafter, this is your only Support.
(ਇਹ ਬਾਣੀ ਹੀ) ਇਸ ਲੋਕ ਅਤੇ ਪਰਲੋਕ ਵਿਚ (ਜ਼ਿੰਦਗੀ ਦਾ) ਆਸਰਾ ਹੈ,
ਆਪੇ ਦੇਵੈ ਸਿਰਜਨਹਾਰੁ ॥੩॥
aape devai sirajanahaar |3|
The Creator Lord Himself bestows it. ||3||
(ਪਰ ਇਹ ਦਾਤਿ) ਜਗਤ ਨੂੰ ਪੈਦਾ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਦੇਂਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੩॥
ਸਚਾ ਮਨਾਏ ਅਪਣਾ ਭਾਣਾ ॥
sachaa manaae apanaa bhaanaa |
One whom the Lord inspires to accept His Will,
ਸਦਾ-ਥਿਰ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ (ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸਰਨ ਪਾ ਕੇ) ਆਪਣੀ ਰਜ਼ਾ ਮਿੱਠੀ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਮੰਨਣ ਲਈ (ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੀ) ਸਹਾਇਤਾ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਸੋਈ ਭਗਤੁ ਸੁਘੜੁ ਸੋੁਜਾਣਾ ॥
soee bhagat sugharr suojaanaa |
is a wise and knowing devotee.
(ਜਿਹੜਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਰਜ਼ਾ ਨੂੰ ਮੰਨ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ) ਉਹੀ ਹੈ ਸੋਹਣਾ ਸੁਚੱਜਾ ਸਿਆਣਾ ਭਗਤ।
ਨਾਨਕੁ ਤਿਸ ਕੈ ਸਦ ਕੁਰਬਾਣਾ ॥੪॥੭॥੧੭॥੭॥੨੪॥
naanak tis kai sad kurabaanaa |4|7|17|7|24|
Nanak is forever a sacrifice to him. ||4||7||17||7||24||
(ਅਜਿਹੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਤੋਂ) ਨਾਨਕ ਸਦਾ ਸਦਕੇ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੪॥੭॥੧੭॥੭॥੨੪॥

ੴ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ॥

One Universal Creator God. By The Grace Of The True Guru:
ਅਕਾਲ ਪੁਰਖ ਇੱਕ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਨਾਲ ਮਿਲਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਰਸਕਿ ਰਸਕਿ ਗੁਨ ਗਾਵਹ ਗੁਰਮਤਿ ਲਿਵ ਉਨਮਨਿ ਨਾਮਿ ਲਗਾਨ ॥
rasak rasak gun gaavah guramat liv unaman naam lagaan |
Through the Guru's Teachings, I sing the Glorious Praises of the Lord with joyous love and delight I am enraptured, lovingly attuned to the Naam, the Name of the Lord.
ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਮੱਤ ਉਤੇ ਤੁਰ ਕੇ, ਆਓ ਅਸੀਂ ਮੁੜ ਮੁੜ ਸੁਆਦ ਨਾਲ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਵਿਆ ਕਰੀਏ, (ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ) ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਵਿਚ ਲਗਨ ਲੱਗ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ (ਪ੍ਰਭੂ-ਮਿਲਾਪ ਦੀ) ਤਾਂਘ ਵਿਚ ਸੁਰਤ ਟਿਕੀ ਰਹਿੰਦੀ ਹੈ।
ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤੁ ਰਸੁ ਪੀਆ ਗੁਰਸਬਦੀ ਹਮ ਨਾਮ ਵਿਟਹੁ ਕੁਰਬਾਨ ॥੧॥
amrit ras peea gurasabadee ham naam vittahu kurabaan |1|
Through the Word of the Guru's Shabad, I drink in the Ambrosial Essence I am a sacrifice to the Naam. ||1||
ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਦੀ ਬਰਕਤਿ ਨਾਲ ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਨਾਮ-ਰਸ ਪੀਤਾ ਜਾ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ। ਮੈਂ ਤਾਂ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਤੋਂ ਸਦਕੇ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹਾਂ ॥੧॥
ਹਮਰੇ ਜਗਜੀਵਨ ਹਰਿ ਪ੍ਰਾਨ ॥
hamare jagajeevan har praan |
The Lord, the Life of the World, is my Breath of Life.
ਜਗਤ ਦੇ ਜੀਵਨ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਜੀ ਹੀ ਅਸਾਂ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਦੀ ਜਿੰਦ-ਜਾਨ ਹਨ (ਫਿਰ ਭੀ ਅਸਾਂ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਇਹ ਸਮਝ ਨਹੀਂ ਆਉਂਦੀ)।
ਹਰਿ ਊਤਮੁ ਰਿਦ ਅੰਤਰਿ ਭਾਇਓ ਗੁਰਿ ਮੰਤੁ ਦੀਓ ਹਰਿ ਕਾਨ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
har aootam rid antar bhaaeo gur mant deeo har kaan |1| rahaau |
The Lofty and Exalted Lord became pleasing to my heart and my inner being, when the Guru breathed the Mantra of the Lord into my ears. ||1||Pause||
(ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੇ) ਕੰਨਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਗੁਰੂ ਨੇ ਹਰਿ-ਨਾਮ ਦਾ ਉਪਦੇਸ਼ ਦੇ ਦਿੱਤਾ, ਉਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੂੰ ਉੱਤਮ ਹਰੀ (ਆਪਣੇ) ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਪਿਆਰਾ ਲੱਗਣ ਲੱਗ ਪੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ਆਵਹੁ ਸੰਤ ਮਿਲਹੁ ਮੇਰੇ ਭਾਈ ਮਿਲਿ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਵਖਾਨ ॥
aavahu sant milahu mere bhaaee mil har har naam vakhaan |
Come, O Saints: let us join together, O Siblings of Destiny let us meet and chant the Name of the Lord, Har, Har.
ਹੇ ਸੰਤ ਜਨੋ! ਹੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਭਰਾਵੋ! ਆਓ, ਮਿਲ ਬੈਠੋ। ਮਿਲ ਕੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਜਪੀਏ।
ਕਿਤੁ ਬਿਧਿ ਕਿਉ ਪਾਈਐ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਅਪੁਨਾ ਮੋ ਕਉ ਕਰਹੁ ਉਪਦੇਸੁ ਹਰਿ ਦਾਨ ॥੨॥
kit bidh kiau paaeeai prabh apunaa mo kau karahu upades har daan |2|
How am I to find my God? Please bless me with the Gift of the Lord's Teachings. ||2||
ਹੇ ਸੰਤ ਜਨੋ! ਪ੍ਰਭੂ-ਮਿਲਾਪ ਦਾ ਉਪਦੇਸ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਦਾਨ ਵਜੋਂ ਦੇਵੋ (ਮੈਨੂੰ ਦੱਸੋ ਕਿ) ਪਿਆਰਾ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਕਿਵੇਂ ਕਿਸ ਤਰੀਕੇ ਨਾਲ ਮਿਲ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੨॥
ਸਤਸੰਗਤਿ ਮਹਿ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਵਸਿਆ ਮਿਲਿ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਹਰਿ ਗੁਨ ਜਾਨ ॥
satasangat meh har har vasiaa mil sangat har gun jaan |
The Lord, Har, Har, abides in the Society of the Saints joining this Sangat, the Lord's Glories are known.
ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਸਾਧ ਸੰਗਤ ਵਿਚ ਸਦਾ ਵੱਸਦਾ ਹੈ। ਸਾਧ ਸੰਗਤ ਵਿਚ ਮਿਲ ਕੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਗੁਣਾਂ ਦੀ ਸਾਂਝ ਪੈ ਸਕਦੀ ਹੈ।
ਵਡੈ ਭਾਗਿ ਸਤਸੰਗਤਿ ਪਾਈ ਗੁਰੁ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਪਰਸਿ ਭਗਵਾਨ ॥੩॥
vaddai bhaag satasangat paaee gur satigur paras bhagavaan |3|
By great good fortune, the Society of the Saints is found. Through the Guru, the True Guru, I receive the Touch of the Lord God. ||3||
ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਵੱਡੀ ਕਿਸਮਤ ਨਾਲ ਸਾਧ ਸੰਗਤ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਹੋ ਗਈ, ਉਸ ਨੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ (ਦੇ ਚਰਨ) ਛੁਹ ਕੇ ਭਗਵਾਨ (ਦਾ ਮਿਲਾਪ ਹਾਸਲ ਕਰ ਲਿਆ) ॥੩॥
ਗੁਨ ਗਾਵਹ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਅਗਮ ਠਾਕੁਰ ਕੇ ਗੁਨ ਗਾਇ ਰਹੇ ਹੈਰਾਨ ॥
gun gaavah prabh agam tthaakur ke gun gaae rahe hairaan |
I sing the Glorious Praises of God, my Inaccessible Lord and Master singing His Praises, I am enraptured.
ਆਓ, ਅਪਹੁੰਚ ਠਾਕੁਰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਵਿਆ ਕਰੀਏ। ਉਸ ਦੇ ਗੁਣ ਗਾ ਗਾ ਕੇ (ਉਸ ਦੀ ਵਡਿਆਈ ਅੱਖਾਂ ਸਾਹਮਣੇ ਲਿਆ ਲਿਆ ਕੇ) ਹੈਰਤ ਵਿਚ ਗੁੰਮ ਹੋ ਜਾਈਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਜਨ ਨਾਨਕ ਕਉ ਗੁਰਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਧਾਰੀ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਦੀਓ ਖਿਨ ਦਾਨ ॥੪॥੧॥
jan naanak kau gur kirapaa dhaaree har naam deeo khin daan |4|1|
The Guru has showered His Mercy on servant Nanak in an instant, He blessed him with the Gift of the Lord's Name. ||4||1||
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਜਿਸ ਦਾਸ ਉੱਤੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਨੇ ਮਿਹਰ ਕੀਤੀ, ਉਸ ਨੂੰ (ਗੁਰੂ ਨੇ) ਇਕ ਖਿਨ ਵਿਚ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਦਾਨ ਦੇ ਦਿੱਤਾ ॥੪॥੧॥

Prabhaatee, Fourth Mehl:
ਉਗਵੈ ਸੂਰੁ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਹਰਿ ਬੋਲਹਿ ਸਭ ਰੈਨਿ ਸਮੑਾਲਹਿ ਹਰਿ ਗਾਲ ॥
augavai soor guramukh har boleh sabh rain samaaleh har gaal |
With the rising of the sun, the Gurmukh speaks of the Lord. All through the night, he dwells upon the Sermon of the Lord.
(ਜਦੋਂ) ਸੂਰਜ ਚੜ੍ਹਦਾ ਹੈ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਸਨਮੁਖ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਜਪਣ ਲੱਗ ਪੈਂਦੇ ਹਨ, ਸਾਰੀ ਰਾਤ ਭੀ ਉਹ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਦੀਆਂ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਹੀ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ।
ਹਮਰੈ ਪ੍ਰਭਿ ਹਮ ਲੋਚ ਲਗਾਈ ਹਮ ਕਰਹ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਹਰਿ ਭਾਲ ॥੧॥
hamarai prabh ham loch lagaaee ham karah prabhoo har bhaal |1|
My God has infused this longing within me I seek my Lord God. ||1||
ਮੇਰੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਭੀ ਇਹ ਲਗਨ ਪੈਦਾ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਹੈ, (ਇਸ ਵਾਸਤੇ) ਮੈਂ ਭੀ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਢੂੰਢ ਕਰਦਾ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹਾਂ ॥੧॥
ਮੇਰਾ ਮਨੁ ਸਾਧੂ ਧੂਰਿ ਰਵਾਲ ॥
meraa man saadhoo dhoor ravaal |
My mind is the dust of the feet of the Holy.
ਮੇਰਾ ਮਨ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਧੂੜ ਹੋਇਆ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਦ੍ਰਿੜਾਇਓ ਗੁਰਿ ਮੀਠਾ ਗੁਰ ਪਗ ਝਾਰਹ ਹਮ ਬਾਲ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
har har naam drirraaeo gur meetthaa gur pag jhaarah ham baal |1| rahaau |
The Guru has implanted the Sweet Name of the Lord, Har, Har, within me. I dust the Guru's Feet with my hair. ||1||Pause||
ਗੁਰੂ ਨੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਮਿੱਠਾ ਨਾਮ ਮੇਰੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਪੱਕਾ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ। ਮੈਂ (ਆਪਣੇ) ਕੇਸਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਚਰਨ ਝਾੜਦਾ ਹਾਂ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ਸਾਕਤ ਕਉ ਦਿਨੁ ਰੈਨਿ ਅੰਧਾਰੀ ਮੋਹਿ ਫਾਥੇ ਮਾਇਆ ਜਾਲ ॥
saakat kau din rain andhaaree mohi faathe maaeaa jaal |
Dark are the days and nights of the faithless cynics they are caught in the trap of attachment to Maya.
ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨਾਲੋਂ ਟੁੱਟੇ ਹੋਏ ਮਨੁੱਖਾਂ ਵਾਸਤੇ (ਸਾਰਾ) ਦਿਨ (ਸਾਰੀ) ਰਾਤ ਘੁੱਪ ਹਨੇਰਾ ਹੁੰਦੀ ਹੈ, (ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਉਹ) ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਮੋਹ ਵਿਚ, ਮਾਇਆ (ਦੇ ਮੋਹ) ਦੀਆਂ ਫਾਹੀਆਂ ਵਿਚ ਫਸੇ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ।
ਖਿਨੁ ਪਲੁ ਹਰਿ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਰਿਦੈ ਨ ਵਸਿਓ ਰਿਨਿ ਬਾਧੇ ਬਹੁ ਬਿਧਿ ਬਾਲ ॥੨॥
khin pal har prabh ridai na vasio rin baadhe bahu bidh baal |2|
The Lord God does not dwell in their hearts, even for an instant every hair of their heads is totally tied up in debts. ||2||
ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਇਕ ਖਿਨ ਭਰ ਭੀ ਇਕ ਪਲ ਭਰ ਭੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਵੱਸਦਾ। ਉਹ ਕਈ ਤਰੀਕਿਆਂ ਨਾਲ (ਵਿਕਾਰਾਂ ਦੇ) ਕਰਜ਼ੇ ਵਿਚ ਵਾਲ ਵਾਲ ਬੱਝੇ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ ॥੨॥
ਸਤਸੰਗਤਿ ਮਿਲਿ ਮਤਿ ਬੁਧਿ ਪਾਈ ਹਉ ਛੂਟੇ ਮਮਤਾ ਜਾਲ ॥
satasangat mil mat budh paaee hau chhootte mamataa jaal |
Joining the Sat Sangat, the True Congregation, wisdom and understanding are obtained, and one is released from the traps of egotism and possessiveness.
ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਮਨੁੱਖਾਂ ਨੇ ਸਾਧ ਸੰਗਤ ਵਿਚ ਮਿਲ ਕੇ (ਉੱਚੀ) ਮੱਤ (ਉੱਚੀ) ਅਕਲ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕਰ ਲਈ, (ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰੋਂ) ਹਉਮੈ ਮੁੱਕ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ, ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਮੋਹ ਦੀਆਂ ਫਾਹੀਆਂ ਟੁੱਟ ਜਾਂਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ।
ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮਾ ਹਰਿ ਮੀਠ ਲਗਾਨਾ ਗੁਰਿ ਕੀਏ ਸਬਦਿ ਨਿਹਾਲ ॥੩॥
har naamaa har meetth lagaanaa gur kee sabad nihaal |3|
The Lord's Name, and the Lord, seem sweet to me. Through the Word of His Shabad, the Guru has made me happy. ||3||
ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਪਿਆਰਾ ਲੱਗਣ ਲੱਗ ਪੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਗੁਰੂ ਨੇ (ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ) ਸ਼ਬਦ ਦੀ ਬਰਕਤਿ ਨਾਲ ਨਿਹਾਲ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੩॥
ਹਮ ਬਾਰਿਕ ਗੁਰ ਅਗਮ ਗੁਸਾਈ ਗੁਰ ਕਰਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਪ੍ਰਤਿਪਾਲ ॥
ham baarik gur agam gusaaee gur kar kirapaa pratipaal |
I am just a child the Guru is the Unfathomable Lord of the World. In His Mercy, He cherishes and sustains me.
ਹੇ ਗੁਰੂ! ਹੇ ਅਪਹੁੰਚ ਮਾਲਕ! ਅਸੀਂ ਜੀਵ ਤੇਰੇ (ਅੰਞਾਣ) ਬੱਚੇ ਹਾਂ। ਹੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਮਿਹਰ ਕਰ, ਸਾਡੀ ਰੱਖਿਆ ਕਰ।
ਬਿਖੁ ਭਉਜਲ ਡੁਬਦੇ ਕਾਢਿ ਲੇਹੁ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਗੁਰ ਨਾਨਕ ਬਾਲ ਗੁਪਾਲ ॥੪॥੨॥
bikh bhaujal ddubade kaadt lehu prabh gur naanak baal gupaal |4|2|
I am drowning in the ocean of poison O God, Guru, Lord of the World, please save Your child, Nanak. ||4||2||
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਹੇ ਗੁਰੂ! ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਹੇ ਧਰਤੀ ਦੇ ਰਾਖੇ! ਅਸੀਂ ਤੇਰੇ (ਅੰਞਾਣ) ਬੱਚੇ ਹਾਂ, ਆਤਮਕ ਮੌਤ ਲਿਆਉਣ ਵਾਲੀ ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਮੋਹ ਦੇ ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਵਿਚ ਡੁੱਬਦਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਸਾਨੂੰ ਬਚਾ ਲੈ ॥੪॥੨॥

Prabhaatee, Fourth Mehl:
ਇਕੁ ਖਿਨੁ ਹਰਿ ਪ੍ਰਭਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਧਾਰੀ ਗੁਨ ਗਾਏ ਰਸਕ ਰਸੀਕ ॥
eik khin har prabh kirapaa dhaaree gun gaae rasak raseek |
The Lord God showered me with His Mercy for an instant I sing His Glorious Praises with joyous love and delight.
(ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਮਨੁੱਖਾਂ ਉਤੇ) ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੇ ਇਕ ਖਿਨ ਭਰ ਭੀ ਮਿਹਰ ਕੀਤੀ, ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੇ ਨਾਮ-ਰਸ ਦੇ ਰਸੀਏ ਬਣ ਕੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਣੇ ਸ਼ੁਰੂ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤੇ।
