ਤੂੰ ਵਡਾ ਤੂੰ ਊਚੋ ਊਚਾ ॥

(ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਤਾਕਤ ਤੇ ਸਮਰੱਥਾ ਵਿਚ) ਤੂੰ (ਸਭ ਤੋਂ) ਵੱਡਾ ਹੈਂ।
ਤੂੰ ਬੇਅੰਤੁ ਅਤਿ ਮੂਚੋ ਮੂਚਾ ॥

You are Infinite, You are Everything!
(ਆਤਮਕ ਉੱਚਤਾ ਵਿਚ) ਤੂੰ ਸਭ ਤੋਂ ਉੱਚਾ ਹੈਂ, ਤੇਰੇ ਗੁਣਾਂ ਦਾ ਅੰਤ ਨਹੀਂ ਪੈ ਸਕਦਾ, ਤੂੰ ਬੇਅੰਤ ਵੱਡੀ ਹਸਤੀ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈਂ।
ਹਉ ਕੁਰਬਾਣੀ ਤੇਰੈ ਵੰਞਾ ਨਾਨਕ ਦਾਸ ਦਸਾਵਣਿਆ ॥੮॥੧॥੩੫॥

I am a sacrifice to You. Nanak is the slave of Your slaves. ||8||1||35||

Who is liberated, and who is united?
ਉਹ ਕੇਹੜਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਹੈ ਜੋ ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਬੰਧਨਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਆਜ਼ਾਦ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ ਤੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਜੁੜਿਆ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ?
ਕਉਣੁ ਸੁ ਗਿਆਨੀ ਕਉਣੁ ਸੁ ਬਕਤਾ ॥

Who is a spiritual teacher, and who is a preacher?
ਉਹ ਕੇਹੜਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਹੈ ਜੋ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨਾਲ ਡੂੰਘੀ ਸਾਂਝ ਪਾਈ ਰੱਖਦਾ ਹੈ ਤੇ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਕਰਦਾ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ?
ਕਉਣੁ ਸੁ ਗਿਰਹੀ ਕਉਣੁ ਉਦਾਸੀ ਕਉਣੁ ਸੁ ਕੀਮਤਿ ਪਾਏ ਜੀਉ ॥੧॥

Who is a house-holder, and who is a renunciate? Who can estimate the Lord's Value? ||1||
(ਸੁਚੱਜਾ) ਗ੍ਰਿਹਸਤੀ ਕੌਣ ਹੋ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ? ਮਾਇਆ ਤੋਂ ਨਿਰਲੇਪ ਕੌਣ ਹੈ? ਉਹ ਕੇਹੜਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਹੈ ਜੋ (ਮਨੁੱਖਾ ਜਨਮ ਦੀ) ਕਦਰ ਸਮਝਦਾ ਹੈ? ॥੧॥
ਕਿਨਿ ਬਿਧਿ ਬਾਧਾ ਕਿਨਿ ਬਿਧਿ ਛੂਟਾ ॥

How is one bound, and how is one freed of his bonds?
ਮਨੁੱਖ (ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਮੋਹ ਦੇ ਬੰਧਨਾਂ ਵਿਚ) ਕਿਵੇਂ ਬੱਝ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਤੇ ਕਿਵੇਂ (ਉਹਨਾਂ ਬੰਧਨਾਂ ਤੋਂ) ਸੁਤੰਤਰ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ?
ਕਿਨਿ ਬਿਧਿ ਆਵਣੁ ਜਾਵਣੁ ਤੂਟਾ ॥

How can one escape from the cycle of coming and going in reincarnation?
ਕਿਸ ਤਰੀਕੇ ਨਾਲ ਜਨਮ ਮਰਨ ਦਾ ਗੇੜ ਮੁੱਕਦਾ ਹੈ? ਸੁਚੱਜੇ ਕੰਮ ਕੇਹੜੇ ਹਨ?
ਕਉਣ ਕਰਮ ਕਉਣ ਨਿਹਕਰਮਾ ਕਉਣੁ ਸੁ ਕਹੈ ਕਹਾਏ ਜੀਉ ॥੨॥
kaun karam kaun nihakaramaa kaun su kahai kahaae jeeo |2|
Who is subject to karma, and who is beyond karma? Who chants the Name, and inspires others to chant it? ||2||
ਉਹ ਕੇਹੜਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਹੈ ਜੋ ਦੁਨੀਆ ਵਿਚ ਵਿਚਰਦਾ ਹੋਇਆ ਭੀ ਵਾਸਨਾ-ਰਹਿਤ ਹੈ? ਉਹ ਕੇਹੜਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਹੈ ਜੋ ਆਪ ਸਿਫ਼ਤ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ ਤੇ (ਹੋਰਨਾਂ ਪਾਸੋਂ) ਕਰਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ? ॥੨॥
ਕਉਣੁ ਸੁ ਸੁਖੀਆ ਕਉਣੁ ਸੁ ਦੁਖੀਆ ॥

Who is happy, and who is sad?
ਸੁਖੀ ਜੀਵਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਕੌਣ ਹੈ? ਕੌਣ ਦੁੱਖਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਘਿਰਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ?
ਕਉਣੁ ਸੁ ਸਨਮੁਖੁ ਕਉਣੁ ਵੇਮੁਖੀਆ ॥
kaun su sanamukh kaun vemukheea |
Who, as sunmukh, turns toward the Guru, and who, as vaymukh, turns away from the Guru?
ਸਨਮੁਖ ਕਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਕਿਹਾ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ? ਬੇਮੁਖ ਕਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਆਖੀਦਾ ਹੈ?
ਕਿਨਿ ਬਿਧਿ ਮਿਲੀਐ ਕਿਨਿ ਬਿਧਿ ਬਿਛੁਰੈ ਇਹ ਬਿਧਿ ਕਉਣੁ ਪ੍ਰਗਟਾਏ ਜੀਉ ॥੩॥

How can one meet the Lord? How is one separated from Him? Who can reveal the way to me? ||3||
ਪ੍ਰਭੂ-ਚਰਨਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਕਿਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਮਿਲ ਸਕੀਦਾ ਹੈ? ਮਨੁੱਖ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਤੋਂ ਕਿਵੇਂ ਵਿੱਛੁੜ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ? ਇਹ ਜਾਚ ਕੌਣ ਸਿਖਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ? ॥੩॥
ਕਉਣੁ ਸੁ ਅਖਰੁ ਜਿਤੁ ਧਾਵਤੁ ਰਹਤਾ ॥

What is that Word, by which the wandering mind can be restrained?
ਉਹ ਕੇਹੜਾ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਹੈ ਜਿਸ ਦੀ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਵਿਕਾਰਾਂ ਵਲ ਦੌੜਦਾ ਮਨ ਟਿਕ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ?
ਕਉਣੁ ਉਪਦੇਸੁ ਜਿਤੁ ਦੁਖੁ ਸੁਖੁ ਸਮ ਸਹਤਾ ॥

What are those teachings, by which we may endure pain and pleasure alike?
ਉਹ ਕੇਹੜਾ ਉਪਦੇਸ਼ ਹੈ ਜਿਸ ਉੱਤੇ ਤੁਰ ਕੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੁੱਖ ਸੁਖ ਇਕੋ ਜਿਹੇ ਸਹਾਰ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ?
ਕਉਣੁ ਸੁ ਚਾਲ ਜਿਤੁ ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮੁ ਧਿਆਏ ਕਿਨਿ ਬਿਧਿ ਕੀਰਤਨੁ ਗਾਏ ਜੀਉ ॥੪॥
kaun su chaal jit paarabraham dhiaae kin bidh keeratan gaae jeeo |4|
What is that lifestyle, by which we may come to meditate on the Supreme Lord? How may we sing the Kirtan of His Praises? ||4||
ਉਹ ਕੇਹੜਾ ਜੀਵਨ-ਢੰਗ ਹੈ ਜਿਸ ਨਾਲ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨੂੰ ਸਿਮਰ ਸਕੇ? ਕਿਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਕਰਦਾ ਰਹੇ? ॥੪॥
ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਮੁਕਤਾ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਜੁਗਤਾ ॥

The Gurmukh is liberated, and the Gurmukh is linked.
ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਦੱਸੇ ਰਾਹ ਤੇ ਤੁਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਬੰਧਨਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਆਜ਼ਾਦ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ ਤੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਯਾਦ ਵਿਚ ਜੁੜਿਆ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਗਿਆਨੀ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਬਕਤਾ ॥

The Gurmukh is the spiritual teacher, and the Gurmukh is the preacher.
ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸਰਨ ਵਿਚ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਹੀ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨਾਲ ਡੂੰਘੀ ਸਾਂਝ ਪਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਤੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਧੰਨੁ ਗਿਰਹੀ ਉਦਾਸੀ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਕੀਮਤਿ ਪਾਏ ਜੀਉ ॥੫॥
dhan girahee udaasee guramukh guramukh keemat paae jeeo |5|
Blessed is the Gurmukh, the householder and the renunciate. The Gurmukh knows the Lord's Value. ||5||
ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਸਨਮੁਖ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਹੀ ਭਾਗਾਂ ਵਾਲਾ ਗ੍ਰਿਹਸਤ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਦੁਨੀਆ ਦੀ ਕਿਰਤ-ਕਾਰ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੋਇਆ ਭੀ ਨਿਰਲੇਪ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਉਹੀ ਮਨੁੱਖਾ ਜਨਮ ਦੀ ਕਦਰ ਸਮਝਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੫॥
ਹਉਮੈ ਬਾਧਾ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਛੂਟਾ ॥

Egotism is bondage as Gurmukh, one is emancipated.
(ਆਪਣੇ ਮਨ ਦੇ ਪਿੱਛੇ ਤੁਰ ਕੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਆਪਣੀ ਹੀ) ਹਉਮੈ ਦੇ ਕਾਰਨ (ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਬੰਧਨਾਂ ਵਿਚ) ਬੱਝ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸਰਨ ਪੈ ਕੇ (ਇਹਨਾਂ ਬੰਧਨਾਂ ਤੋਂ) ਆਜ਼ਾਦ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਆਵਣੁ ਜਾਵਣੁ ਤੂਟਾ ॥

The Gurmukh escapes the cycle of coming and going in reincarnation.
ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਦੱਸੇ ਰਾਹ ਉੱਤੇ ਤੁਰਿਆਂ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦਾ ਜਨਮ ਮਰਨ ਦਾ ਗੇੜ ਮੁੱਕ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਕਰਮ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਨਿਹਕਰਮਾ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਕਰੇ ਸੁ ਸੁਭਾਏ ਜੀਉ ॥੬॥
guramukh karam guramukh nihakaramaa guramukh kare su subhaae jeeo |6|
The Gurmukh performs actions of good karma, and the Gurmukh is beyond karma. Whatever the Gurmukh does, is done in good faith. ||6||
ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਸਨਮੁਖ ਰਹਿ ਕੇ ਹੀ ਸੁਚੱਜੇ ਕੰਮ ਹੋ ਸਕਦੇ ਹਨ। ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਸਨਮੁਖ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੁਨੀਆ ਦੀ ਕਿਰਤ-ਕਾਰ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੀ ਵਾਸਨਾ ਰਹਿਤ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਅਜੇਹਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਜੋ ਕੁਝ ਭੀ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਵਿਚ ਟਿਕ ਕੇ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੬॥
ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਸੁਖੀਆ ਮਨਮੁਖਿ ਦੁਖੀਆ ॥

The Gurmukh is happy, while the self-willed manmukh is sad.
ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਸਨਮੁਖ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਸੁਖੀ ਜੀਵਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ, ਪਰ ਆਪਣੇ ਮਨ ਦੇ ਪਿੱਛੇ ਤੁਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨਿੱਤ ਦੁਖੀ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਸਨਮੁਖੁ ਮਨਮੁਖਿ ਵੇਮੁਖੀਆ ॥

The Gurmukh turns toward the Guru, and the self-willed manmukh turns away from the Guru.
ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਦੱਸੇ ਰਾਹ ਤੇ ਤੁਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਵਲ ਮੂੰਹ ਰੱਖਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ, ਆਪਣੇ ਮਨ ਦੇ ਪਿੱਛੇ ਤੁਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਬੰਦਾ ਰੱਬ ਵਲੋਂ ਮੂੰਹ ਮੋੜੀ ਰੱਖਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਮਿਲੀਐ ਮਨਮੁਖਿ ਵਿਛੁਰੈ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਬਿਧਿ ਪ੍ਰਗਟਾਏ ਜੀਉ ॥੭॥

The Gurmukh is united with the Lord, while the manmukh is separated from Him. The Gurmukh reveals the way. ||7||
ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਸਨਮੁਖ ਰਿਹਾਂ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨੂੰ ਮਿਲ ਸਕੀਦਾ ਹੈ, ਆਪਣੇ ਮਨ ਦੇ ਪਿੱਛੇ ਤੁਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਬੰਦਾ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਤੋਂ ਵਿੱਛੁੜ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਸਨਮੁਖ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਹੀ (ਸਹੀ ਜੀਵਨ ਦੀ) ਜਾਚ ਸਿਖਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੭॥
ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਅਖਰੁ ਜਿਤੁ ਧਾਵਤੁ ਰਹਤਾ ॥

The Guru's Instruction is the Word, by which the wandering mind is restrained.
ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਮੂੰਹੋਂ ਨਿਕਲਿਆ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਹੀ ਉਹ ਬੋਲ ਹੈ ਜਿਸ ਦੀ ਬਰਕਤਿ ਨਾਲ ਵਿਕਾਰਾਂ ਵਲ ਦੌੜਦਾ ਮਨ ਖਲੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਉਪਦੇਸੁ ਦੁਖੁ ਸੁਖੁ ਸਮ ਸਹਤਾ ॥
guramukh upades dukh sukh sam sahataa |
Through the Guru's Teachings, we can endure pain and pleasure alike.
ਗੁਰੂ ਤੋਂ ਮਿਲਿਆ ਉਪਦੇਸ਼ ਹੀ (ਇਹ ਸਮਰੱਥਾ ਰੱਖਦਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਆਸਰੇ) ਦੁਖ ਸੁਖ ਨੂੰ ਇਕੋ ਜਿਹਾ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਸਹਾਰਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਚਾਲ ਜਿਤੁ ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮੁ ਧਿਆਏ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਕੀਰਤਨੁ ਗਾਏ ਜੀਉ ॥੮॥

ਸਗਲੀ ਬਣਤ ਬਣਾਈ ਆਪੇ ॥

The Lord Himself created the entire creation.
(ਪਰ ਗੁਰਮੁਖ ਤੇ ਮਨਮੁਖ-ਇਹ) ਸਾਰੀ ਬਣਤਰ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨੇ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਬਣਾਈ ਹੈ।
ਆਪੇ ਕਰੇ ਕਰਾਏ ਥਾਪੇ ॥

He Himself acts, and causes others to act. He Himself establishes.
(ਸਭ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਵਿਆਪਕ ਹੋ ਕੇ) ਉਹ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਸਭ ਕੁਝ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ ਤੇ (ਜੀਵਾਂ ਪਾਸੋਂ) ਕਰਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਜਗਤ ਦੀ ਸਾਰੀ ਖੇਡ ਚਲਾ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ।
ਇਕਸੁ ਤੇ ਹੋਇਓ ਅਨੰਤਾ ਨਾਨਕ ਏਕਸੁ ਮਾਹਿ ਸਮਾਏ ਜੀਉ ॥੯॥੨॥੩੬॥
eikas te hoeo anantaa naanak ekas maeh samaae jeeo |9|2|36|
From oneness, He has brought forth the countless multitudes. O Nanak, they shall merge into the One once again. ||9||2||36||
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਉਹ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਆਪਣੇ ਇੱਕ ਸਰੂਪ ਤੋਂ ਬੇਅੰਤ ਰੂਪਾਂ ਰੰਗਾਂ ਵਾਲਾ ਬਣਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ। (ਇਹ ਸਾਰਾ ਬਹੁ ਰੰਗੀ ਜਗਤ) ਉਸ ਇੱਕ ਵਿਚ ਹੀ ਲੀਨ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੯॥੨॥੩੬॥

ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਅਬਿਨਾਸੀ ਤਾ ਕਿਆ ਕਾੜਾ ॥

God is Eternal and Imperishable, so why should anyone be anxious?
(ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੂੰ ਇਹ ਯਕੀਨ ਹੋਵੇ ਕਿ ਮੇਰੇ ਸਿਰ ਉੱਤੇ) ਅਬਿਨਾਸੀ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ (ਰਾਖਾ ਹੈ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ) ਕੋਈ ਚਿੰਤਾ-ਫ਼ਿਕਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੁੰਦਾ।
ਹਰਿ ਭਗਵੰਤਾ ਤਾ ਜਨੁ ਖਰਾ ਸੁਖਾਲਾ ॥
har bhagavantaa taa jan kharaa sukhaalaa |
The Lord is Wealthy and Prosperous, so His humble servant should feel totally secure.
(ਜਦੋਂ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੂੰ ਇਹ ਨਿਸਚਾ ਹੋਵੇ ਕਿ) ਸਭ ਸੁਖਾਂ ਦਾ ਮਾਲਕ ਹਰੀ (ਮੇਰਾ ਰਾਖਾ ਹੈ) ਤਾਂ ਉਹ ਬਹੁਤ ਸੌਖਾ ਜੀਵਨ ਬਿਤੀਤ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਜੀਅ ਪ੍ਰਾਨ ਮਾਨ ਸੁਖਦਾਤਾ ਤੂੰ ਕਰਹਿ ਸੋਈ ਸੁਖੁ ਪਾਵਣਿਆ ॥੧॥
jeea praan maan sukhadaataa toon kareh soee sukh paavaniaa |1|
O Giver of peace of the soul, of life, of honor-as You ordain, I obtain peace. ||1||
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਇਹ ਨਿਸਚਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਤੂੰ ਜਿੰਦ ਦਾ ਪ੍ਰਾਣਾਂ ਦਾ ਮਨ ਦਾ ਸੁਖ ਦਾਤਾ ਹੈਂ, ਤੇ ਜੋ ਕੁਝ ਤੂੰ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈਂ ਉਹੀ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਆਤਮਕ ਆਨੰਦ ਮਾਣਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੧॥
ਹਉ ਵਾਰੀ ਜੀਉ ਵਾਰੀ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਮਨਿ ਤਨਿ ਭਾਵਣਿਆ ॥
hau vaaree jeeo vaaree guramukh man tan bhaavaniaa |
I am a sacrifice, my soul is a sacrifice, to that Gurmukh whose mind and body are pleased with You.
(ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ!) ਮੈਂ ਤੈਥੋਂ ਸਦਕੇ ਹਾਂ ਕੁਰਬਾਨ ਹਾਂ, ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸਰਨ ਪਿਆਂ ਤੂੰ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਪਿਆਰਾ ਲੱਗਣ ਲੱਗ ਪੈਂਦਾ ਹੈਂ।
ਤੂੰ ਮੇਰਾ ਪਰਬਤੁ ਤੂੰ ਮੇਰਾ ਓਲਾ ਤੁਮ ਸੰਗਿ ਲਵੈ ਨ ਲਾਵਣਿਆ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
toon meraa parabat toon meraa olaa tum sang lavai na laavaniaa |1| rahaau |
You are my mountain, You are my shelter and shield. No one can rival You. ||1||Pause||
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਤੂੰ ਮੇਰੇ ਲਈ ਪਰਬਤ (ਸਮਾਨ ਸਹਾਰਾ) ਹੈਂ, ਤੂੰ ਮੇਰਾ ਆਸਰਾ ਹੈਂ। ਮੈਂ ਤੇਰੇ ਨਾਲ ਕਿਸੇ ਹੋਰ ਨੂੰ ਬਰਾਬਰੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਦੇ ਸਕਦਾ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ਤੇਰਾ ਕੀਤਾ ਜਿਸੁ ਲਾਗੈ ਮੀਠਾ ॥
teraa keetaa jis laagai meetthaa |
That person, unto whom Your actions seem sweet,
ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੂੰ ਤੇਰਾ ਭਾਣਾ ਮਿੱਠਾ ਲੱਗਣ ਲੱਗ ਪੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ,
ਘਟਿ ਘਟਿ ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮੁ ਤਿਨਿ ਜਨਿ ਡੀਠਾ ॥
ghatt ghatt paarabraham tin jan ddeetthaa |
comes to see the Supreme Lord God in each and every heart.
ਉਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੇ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਹਰੇਕ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਵੱਸਦਾ ਵੇਖ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ।
ਥਾਨਿ ਥਨੰਤਰਿ ਤੂੰਹੈ ਤੂੰਹੈ ਇਕੋ ਇਕੁ ਵਰਤਾਵਣਿਆ ॥੨॥
thaan thanantar toonhai toonhai iko ik varataavaniaa |2|
In all places and interspaces, You exist. You are the One and Only Lord, pervading everywhere. ||2||
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਤੂੰ ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮ (ਹਰੇਕ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਵੱਸ ਰਿਹਾ) ਹੈਂ। ਹਰੇਕ ਥਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਤੂੰ ਹੀ ਤੂੰ ਹੀ, ਸਿਰਫ਼ ਇਕ ਤੂੰ ਹੀ ਵੱਸ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈਂ ॥੨॥
ਸਗਲ ਮਨੋਰਥ ਤੂੰ ਦੇਵਣਹਾਰਾ ॥
sagal manorath toon devanahaaraa |
You are the Fulfiller of all the mind's desires.
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਸਭ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਮਨ-ਮੰਗੀਆਂ ਲੋੜਾਂ ਤੂੰ ਹੀ ਪੂਰੀਆਂ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈਂ।
ਭਗਤੀ ਭਾਇ ਭਰੇ ਭੰਡਾਰਾ ॥
bhagatee bhaae bhare bhanddaaraa |
Your treasures are overflowing with love and devotion.
ਤੇਰੇ ਘਰ ਵਿਚ ਭਗਤੀ-ਧਨ ਨਾਲ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ-ਧਨ ਨਾਲ ਖ਼ਜ਼ਾਨੇ ਭਰੇ ਪਏ ਹਨ।
ਦਇਆ ਧਾਰਿ ਰਾਖੇ ਤੁਧੁ ਸੇਈ ਪੂਰੈ ਕਰਮਿ ਸਮਾਵਣਿਆ ॥੩॥
deaa dhaar raakhe tudh seee poorai karam samaavaniaa |3|
Showering Your Mercy, You protect those who, through perfect destiny, merge into You. ||3||
ਜੇਹੜੇ ਬੰਦੇ ਤੇਰੀ ਪੂਰੀ ਮਿਹਰ ਨਾਲ ਤੇਰੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਲੀਨ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਦਇਆ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਤੂੰ (ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਹੱਲਿਆਂ ਤੋਂ) ਬਚਾ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੩॥
