ਸਾਧਸੰਗਿ ਭਜੁ ਅਚੁਤ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਦਰਗਹ ਸੋਭਾ ਪਾਵਣਾ ॥੩॥
saadhasang bhaj achut suaamee daragah sobhaa paavanaa |3|
In the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy, meditate and vibrate upon your imperishable Lord and Master, and you shall be honored in the Court of the Lord. ||3||
ਉਸ ਅਬਿਨਾਸ਼ੀ ਮਾਲਕ-ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸੰਗਤ ਵਿਚ (ਰਹਿ ਕੇ) ਜਪਿਆ ਕਰ। ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਹਜ਼ੂਰੀ ਵਿਚ (ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ) ਇੱਜ਼ਤ ਮਿਲਦੀ ਹੈ ॥੩॥
ਚਾਰਿ ਪਦਾਰਥ ਅਸਟ ਦਸਾ ਸਿਧਿ ॥
chaar padaarath asatt dasaa sidh |
The four great blessings, and the eighteen miraculous spiritual powers,
ਜੇ ਤੂੰ ਚਾਰ ਪਦਾਰਥ ਲੋੜਦਾ ਹੈਂ, ਜੇ ਤੂੰ ਆਠਾਰਾਂ ਸਿੱਧੀਆਂ ਲੋੜਦਾ ਹੈਂ,
ਨਾਮੁ ਨਿਧਾਨੁ ਸਹਜ ਸੁਖੁ ਨਉ ਨਿਧਿ ॥
naam nidhaan sehaj sukh nau nidh |
are found in the treasure of the Naam, which brings celestial peace and poise, and the nine treasures.
ਜੇ ਤੂੰ ਦੁਨੀਆ ਦੇ ਨੌ ਹੀ ਖ਼ਜ਼ਾਨੇ ਲੋੜਦਾ ਹੈਂ, ਤਾਂ (ਯਕਰਨ ਕਰ ਕਿ) ਹਰਿ-ਨਾਮ ਹੀ (ਅਸਲ) ਖ਼ਜ਼ਾਨਾ ਹੈ, ਇਹ ਨਾਮ ਹੀ ਆਤਮਕ ਅਡੋਲਤਾ ਦਾ ਸੁਖ ਹੈ। (ਇਹ ਨਾਮ ਹੀ ਚਾਰ ਪਦਾਰਥ ਅਠਾਰਾਂ ਸਿੱਧੀਆਂ ਤੇ ਨੌ ਨਿਧੀਆਂ ਹੈ)।
ਸਰਬ ਕਲਿਆਣ ਜੇ ਮਨ ਮਹਿ ਚਾਹਹਿ ਮਿਲਿ ਸਾਧੂ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਰਾਵਣਾ ॥੪॥
sarab kaliaan je man meh chaaheh mil saadhoo suaamee raavanaa |4|
If you yearn in your mind for all joys, then join the Saadh Sangat, and dwell upon your Lord and Master. ||4||
ਜੇ ਤੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਸਾਰੇ ਸੁਖ ਲੋੜਦਾ ਹੈਂ, ਤਾਂ ਗੁਰੂ ਨੂੰ ਮਿਲ ਕੇ ਮਾਲਕ-ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਕਰਿਆ ਕਰ ॥੪॥
ਸਾਸਤ ਸਿੰਮ੍ਰਿਤਿ ਬੇਦ ਵਖਾਣੀ ॥
saasat sinmrit bed vakhaanee |
The Shaastras, the Simritees and the Vedas proclaim
ਸ਼ਾਸਤ੍ਰਾਂ ਨੇ, ਸਿੰਮ੍ਰਿਤੀਆਂ ਨੇ, ਵੇਦਾਂ ਨੇ ਆਖਿਆ ਹੈ,
ਜਨਮੁ ਪਦਾਰਥੁ ਜੀਤੁ ਪਰਾਣੀ ॥
janam padaarath jeet paraanee |
that the mortal must be victorious in this priceless human life.
ਕਿ ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਾਣੀ! ਆਪਣੇ ਕੀਮਤੀ ਮਨੁੱਖਾ ਜਨਮ ਨੂੰ ਸਫਲਾ ਕਰ।
ਕਾਮੁ ਕ੍ਰੋਧੁ ਨਿੰਦਾ ਪਰਹਰੀਐ ਹਰਿ ਰਸਨਾ ਨਾਨਕ ਗਾਵਣਾ ॥੫॥
kaam krodh nindaa parahareeai har rasanaa naanak gaavanaa |5|
Forsaking sexual desire, anger and slander, sing of the Lord with your tongue, O Nanak. ||5||
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! (ਇਹ ਸਫਲਾ ਤਾਂ ਹੀ ਹੋ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ ਜੇ) ਜੀਭ ਨਾਲ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਗਾਈ ਜਾਏ। ਸਿਫ਼ਤ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਦੀ ਬਰਕਤਿ ਨਾਲ ਹੀ ਕਾਮ ਛੱਡਿਆ ਜਾ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ ਕ੍ਰੋਧ ਤਿਆਗਿਆ ਜਾ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ ਨਿੰਦਾ ਛੱਡੀ ਜਾ ਸਕਦੀ ਹੈ (ਤੇ ਇਹਨਾਂ ਵਿਕਾਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਤਿਆਗਣ ਵਿਚ ਹੀ ਜਨਮ ਦੀ ਸਫਲਤਾ ਹੈ) ॥੫॥
ਜਿਸੁ ਰੂਪੁ ਨ ਰੇਖਿਆ ਕੁਲੁ ਨਹੀ ਜਾਤੀ ॥
jis roop na rekhiaa kul nahee jaatee |
He has no form or shape, no ancestry or social class.
ਜਿਸ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ (ਕੀਹ) ਰੂਪ, ਰੇਖ, ਕੁਲ ਅਤੇ ਜਾਤਿ (ਹੈ-ਇਹ ਗੱਲ) ਦੱਸੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾ ਸਕਦੀ,
ਪੂਰਨ ਪੂਰਿ ਰਹਿਆ ਦਿਨੁ ਰਾਤੀ ॥
pooran poor rahiaa din raatee |
The Perfect Lord is perfectly pervading day and night.
ਜਿਹੜਾ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਿਨ ਰਾਤ ਹਰ ਵੇਲੇ ਸਭ ਥਾਈਂ ਮੌਜੂਦ ਹੈ,
ਜੋ ਜੋ ਜਪੈ ਸੋਈ ਵਡਭਾਗੀ ਬਹੁੜਿ ਨ ਜੋਨੀ ਪਾਵਣਾ ॥੬॥
jo jo japai soee vaddabhaagee bahurr na jonee paavanaa |6|
Whoever meditates on Him is very fortunate he is not consigned to reincarnation again. ||6||
ਉਸ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਜਿਹੜਾ ਜਿਹੜਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਜਪਦਾ ਹੈ ਉਹ ਵੱਡੇ ਭਾਗਾਂ ਵਾਲਾ ਬਣ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਮੁੜ ਮੁੜ ਜੂਨਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਨਹੀਂ ਪੈਂਦਾ ॥੬॥
ਜਿਸ ਨੋ ਬਿਸਰੈ ਪੁਰਖੁ ਬਿਧਾਤਾ ॥
jis no bisarai purakh bidhaataa |
One who forgets the Primal Lord, the Architect of karma,
ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੂੰ ਸਰਬ-ਵਿਆਪਕ ਸਿਰਜਣਹਾਰ ਵਿਸਰਿਆ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ,
ਜਲਤਾ ਫਿਰੈ ਰਹੈ ਨਿਤ ਤਾਤਾ ॥
jalataa firai rahai nit taataa |
wanders around burning, and remains tormented.
ਉਹ ਸਦਾ (ਵਿਕਾਰਾਂ ਵਿਚ) ਸੜਦਾ ਫਿਰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਸਦਾ (ਕ੍ਰੋਧ ਨਾਲ) ਸੜਿਆ ਭੁੱਜਿਆ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਅਕਿਰਤਘਣੈ ਕਉ ਰਖੈ ਨ ਕੋਈ ਨਰਕ ਘੋਰ ਮਹਿ ਪਾਵਣਾ ॥੭॥
akirataghanai kau rakhai na koee narak ghor meh paavanaa |7|
No one can save such an ungrateful person he is thrown into the most horrible hell. ||7||
ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਕੀਤੇ ਉਪਕਾਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਭੁਲਾਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਉਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੂੰ (ਇਸ ਭੈੜੀ ਆਤਮਕ ਦਸ਼ਾ ਤੋਂ) ਕੋਈ ਬਚਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਕਦਾ। ਉਹ ਮਨੁੱਖ (ਸਦਾ ਇਸ) ਭਿਆਨਕ ਨਰਕ ਵਿਚ ਪਿਆ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੭॥
ਜੀਉ ਪ੍ਰਾਣ ਤਨੁ ਧਨੁ ਜਿਨਿ ਸਾਜਿਆ ॥
jeeo praan tan dhan jin saajiaa |
He blessed you with your soul, the breath of life, your body and wealth
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਜਿਸ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨੇ ਜਿੰਦ ਦਿੱਤੀ, ਪ੍ਰਾਣ ਦਿੱਤੇ, ਸਰੀਰ ਬਣਾਇਆ, ਧਨ ਦਿੱਤਾ,
ਮਾਤ ਗਰਭ ਮਹਿ ਰਾਖਿ ਨਿਵਾਜਿਆ ॥
maat garabh meh raakh nivaajiaa |
He preserved and nurtured you in your mother's womb.
ਮਾਂ ਦੇ ਪੇਟ ਵਿਚ ਰੱਖਿਆ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਬੜੀ ਦਇਆ ਕੀਤੀ,
ਤਿਸ ਸਿਉ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਿ ਛਾਡਿ ਅਨ ਰਾਤਾ ਕਾਹੂ ਸਿਰੈ ਨ ਲਾਵਣਾ ॥੮॥
tis siau preet chhaadd an raataa kaahoo sirai na laavanaa |8|
Forsaking His Love, you are imbued with another you shall never achieve your goals like this. ||8||
ਜਿਹੜਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਉਸ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨਾਲ ਪਿਆਰ ਛੱਡ ਕੇ ਹੋਰ ਹੋਰ ਪਦਾਰਥਾਂ ਦੇ ਮੋਹ ਵਿਚ ਮਸਤ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਕਿਸੇ ਪਾਸੇ ਭੀ ਨੇਪਰੇ ਨਹੀਂ ਚੜ੍ਹਦਾ ॥੮॥
ਧਾਰਿ ਅਨੁਗ੍ਰਹੁ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਮੇਰੇ ॥
dhaar anugrahu suaamee mere |
Please shower me with Your Merciful Grace, O my Lord and Master.
ਹੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਮਾਲਕ-ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! (ਅਸਾਂ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਉੱਤੇ) ਦਇਆ ਕਰੀ ਰੱਖ,
ਘਟਿ ਘਟਿ ਵਸਹਿ ਸਭਨ ਕੈ ਨੇਰੇ ॥
ghatt ghatt vaseh sabhan kai nere |
You dwell in each and every heart, and are near everyone.
ਤੂੰ ਹਰੇਕ ਸਰੀਰ ਵਿਚ ਵੱਸਦਾ ਹੈਂ, ਤੂੰ ਸਭ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਦੇ ਨੇੜੇ ਵੱਸਦਾ ਹੈਂ।
ਹਾਥਿ ਹਮਾਰੈ ਕਛੂਐ ਨਾਹੀ ਜਿਸੁ ਜਣਾਇਹਿ ਤਿਸੈ ਜਣਾਵਣਾ ॥੯॥
haath hamaarai kachhooai naahee jis janaaeihi tisai janaavanaa |9|
Nothing is in my hands he alone knows, whom You inspire to know. ||9||
ਅਸਾਂ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਦੇ ਵੱਸ ਵਿਚ ਕੁਝ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ। ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੂੰ ਤੂੰ (ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਦੀ) ਸਮਝ ਬਖ਼ਸ਼ਦਾ ਹੈਂ, ਉਹੀ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਇਹ ਸਮਝ ਹਾਸਲ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੯॥
ਜਾ ਕੈ ਮਸਤਕਿ ਧੁਰਿ ਲਿਖਿ ਪਾਇਆ ॥
jaa kai masatak dhur likh paaeaa |
One who has such pre-ordained destiny inscribed upon his forehead,
ਧੁਰ ਹਜ਼ੂਰੀ ਵਿਚੋਂ ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੇ ਮੱਥੇ ਉਤੇ (ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੇ ਚੰਗੇ ਭਾਗਾਂ ਦਾ ਲੇਖ) ਲਿਖ ਕੇ ਪਾਇਆ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ,
ਤਿਸ ਹੀ ਪੁਰਖ ਨ ਵਿਆਪੈ ਮਾਇਆ ॥
tis hee purakh na viaapai maaeaa |
that person is not afflicted by Maya.
ਸਿਰਫ਼ ਉਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਉਤੇ ਹੀ ਮਾਇਆ ਆਪਣਾ ਜ਼ੋਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਪਾ ਸਕਦੀ।
ਨਾਨਕ ਦਾਸ ਸਦਾ ਸਰਣਾਈ ਦੂਸਰ ਲਵੈ ਨ ਲਾਵਣਾ ॥੧੦॥
naanak daas sadaa saranaaee doosar lavai na laavanaa |10|
Slave Nanak seeks Your Sanctuary forever there is no other equal to You. ||10||
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਭਗਤ ਸਦਾ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਸਰਨ ਪਏ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਹ ਕਿਸੇ ਹੋਰ ਨੂੰ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਬਰਾਬਰ ਦਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਮਝਦੇ ॥੧੦॥
ਆਗਿਆ ਦੂਖ ਸੂਖ ਸਭਿ ਕੀਨੇ ॥
aagiaa dookh sookh sabh keene |
In His Will, He made all pain and pleasure.
(ਜਗਤ ਦੇ) ਸਾਰੇ ਦੁੱਖ ਸਾਰੇ ਸੁਖ (ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ) ਹੁਕਮ ਵਿਚ (ਆਪ ਹੀ) ਬਣਾਏ ਹਨ।
ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਨਾਮੁ ਬਿਰਲੈ ਹੀ ਚੀਨੇ ॥
amrit naam biralai hee cheene |
How rare are those who remember the Ambrosial Naam, the Name of the Lord.
(ਇਹਨਾਂ ਦੁੱਖਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਬਚਣ ਲਈ) ਕਿਸੇ ਵਿਰਲੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੇ ਹੀ ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਹਰਿ-ਨਾਮ ਨਾਲ ਸਾਂਝ ਪਾਈ ਹੈ।
ਤਾ ਕੀ ਕੀਮਤਿ ਕਹਣੁ ਨ ਜਾਈ ਜਤ ਕਤ ਓਹੀ ਸਮਾਵਣਾ ॥੧੧॥
taa kee keemat kehan na jaaee jat kat ohee samaavanaa |11|
His value cannot be described. He is prevailing everywhere. ||11||
ਉਸ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਮੁੱਲ ਨਹੀਂ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਜਾ ਸਕਦਾ (ਉਹ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਕਿਸੇ ਦੁਨੀਆਵੀ ਪਦਾਰਥ ਦੇ ਵੱਟੇ ਨਹੀਂ ਮਿਲਦਾ, ਉਂਞ) ਹਰ ਥਾਂ ਉਹ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਸਮਾਇਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ ॥੧੧॥
ਸੋਈ ਭਗਤੁ ਸੋਈ ਵਡ ਦਾਤਾ ॥
soee bhagat soee vadd daataa |
He is the devotee He is the Great Giver.
ਉਹ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਆਪ ਹੀ (ਆਪਣੇ ਸੇਵਕ ਵਿਚ ਬੈਠਾ ਆਪਣੀ) ਭਗਤੀ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਸਭ ਤੋਂ ਵੱਡਾ ਦਾਤਾਰ ਹੈ,
ਸੋਈ ਪੂਰਨ ਪੁਰਖੁ ਬਿਧਾਤਾ ॥
soee pooran purakh bidhaataa |
He is the Perfect Primal Lord, the Architect of karma.
ਉਹ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਸਭ ਵਿਚ ਵਿਆਪਕ ਸਿਰਜਣਹਾਰ ਹੈ।
ਬਾਲ ਸਹਾਈ ਸੋਈ ਤੇਰਾ ਜੋ ਤੇਰੈ ਮਨਿ ਭਾਵਣਾ ॥੧੨॥
baal sahaaee soee teraa jo terai man bhaavanaa |12|
He is your help and support, since infancy He fulfills your mind's desires. ||12||
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਜਿਹੜਾ (ਤੇਰਾ ਭਗਤ) ਤੇਰੇ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ (ਤੈਨੂੰ) ਪਿਆਰਾ ਲੱਗਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹੀ ਤੇਰਾ ਬਾਲ-ਸਖਾਈ ਹੈ (ਉਹੀ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਇਉਂ ਪਿਆਰਾ ਹੈ ਜਿਵੇਂ ਛੋਟੀ ਉਮਰ ਤੋਂ ਇਕੱਠੇ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਬਾਲਕ ਇਕ ਦੂਜੇ ਨੂੰ ਸਾਰੀ ਉਮਰ ਪਿਆਰ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਹੁੰਦੇ ਹਨ) ॥੧੨॥
ਮਿਰਤੁ ਦੂਖ ਸੂਖ ਲਿਖਿ ਪਾਏ ॥
mirat dookh sookh likh paae |
Death, pain and pleasure are ordained by the Lord.
ਮੌਤ ਦੁੱਖ ਸੁਖ ਕਰਤਾਰ ਨੇ ਆਪ ਹੀ (ਜੀਵਾਂ ਦੇ ਲੇਖਾਂ ਵਿਚ) ਲਿਖ ਕੇ ਰੱਖ ਦਿੱਤੇ ਹਨ।
ਤਿਲੁ ਨਹੀ ਬਧਹਿ ਘਟਹਿ ਨ ਘਟਾਏ ॥
til nahee badheh ghatteh na ghattaae |
They do not increase or decrease by anyone's efforts.
ਨਾਹ ਇਹ ਵਧਾਇਆਂ ਰਤਾ ਭੀ ਵਧਦੇ ਹਨ, ਨਾਹ ਇਹ ਘਟਾਇਆਂ ਰਤਾ ਭਰ ਘਟਦੇ ਹਨ।
ਸੋਈ ਹੋਇ ਜਿ ਕਰਤੇ ਭਾਵੈ ਕਹਿ ਕੈ ਆਪੁ ਵਞਾਵਣਾ ॥੧੩॥
soee hoe ji karate bhaavai keh kai aap vayaavanaa |13|
That alone happens, which is pleasing to the Creator speaking of himself, the mortal ruins himself. ||13||
ਜੋ ਕੁਝ ਕਰਤਾਰ ਨੂੰ ਚੰਗਾ ਲੱਗਦਾ ਹੈ ਉਹੀ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ। (ਇਹ) ਆਖ ਕੇ (ਕਿ ਅਸੀਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਆਪ ਕੁਝ ਕਰ ਸਕਦੇ ਹਾਂ) ਆਪਣੇ ਆਪ ਨੂੰ ਖ਼ੁਆਰ ਹੀ ਕਰਨਾ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੧੩॥
ਅੰਧ ਕੂਪ ਤੇ ਸੇਈ ਕਾਢੇ ॥
andh koop te seee kaadte |
He lifts us up and pulls us out of the deep dark pit
ਉਹਨਾਂ ਮਨੁੱਖਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਮੋਹ ਦੇ ਘੁੱਪ ਹਨੇਰੇ ਖੂਹ ਵਿਚੋਂ ਕੱਢ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ,
ਜਨਮ ਜਨਮ ਕੇ ਟੂਟੇ ਗਾਂਢੇ ॥
janam janam ke ttootte gaandte |
He unites with Himself, those who were separated for so many incarnations.
ਤੇ, ਕਈ ਜਨਮਾਂ ਦੇ (ਆਪਣੇ ਨਾਲੋਂ) ਟੁੱਟਿਆਂ ਹੋਇਆਂ ਨੂੰ (ਮੁੜ ਆਪਣੇ ਨਾਲ) ਜੋੜ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ,
ਕਿਰਪਾ ਧਾਰਿ ਰਖੇ ਕਰਿ ਅਪੁਨੇ ਮਿਲਿ ਸਾਧੂ ਗੋਬਿੰਦੁ ਧਿਆਵਣਾ ॥੧੪॥
kirapaa dhaar rakhe kar apune mil saadhoo gobind dhiaavanaa |14|
Showering them with His Mercy, He protects them with His own hands. Meeting with the Holy Saints, they meditate on the Lord of the Universe. ||14||
ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਮਨੁੱਖਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਬਣਾ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਜਿਹੜੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਗੁਰੂ ਨੂੰ ਮਿਲ ਕੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਸਿਮਰਦੇ ਹਨ ॥੧੪॥
ਤੇਰੀ ਕੀਮਤਿ ਕਹਣੁ ਨ ਜਾਈ ॥
teree keemat kehan na jaaee |
Your worth cannot be described.
(ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ) ਤੇਰਾ ਮੁੱਲ ਨਹੀਂ ਪਾਇਆ ਜਾ ਸਕਦਾ।
ਅਚਰਜ ਰੂਪੁ ਵਡੀ ਵਡਿਆਈ ॥
acharaj roop vaddee vaddiaaee |
Wondrous is Your form, and Your glorious greatness.
ਤੇਰਾ ਸਰੂਪ ਹੈਰਾਨ ਕਰ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ, ਤੇ ਵਡਿਆਈ ਵੱਡੀ ਹੈ।
ਭਗਤਿ ਦਾਨੁ ਮੰਗੈ ਜਨੁ ਤੇਰਾ ਨਾਨਕ ਬਲਿ ਬਲਿ ਜਾਵਣਾ ॥੧੫॥੧॥੧੪॥੨੨॥੨੪॥੨॥੧੪॥੬੨॥
bhagat daan mangai jan teraa naanak bal bal jaavanaa |15|1|14|22|24|2|14|62|

ਅਕਾਲ ਪੁਰਖ ਇੱਕ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਨਾਲ ਮਿਲਦਾ ਹੈ।

Salok, First Mehl:
ਵਿਣੁ ਗਾਹਕ ਗੁਣੁ ਵੇਚੀਐ ਤਉ ਗੁਣੁ ਸਹਘੋ ਜਾਇ ॥
vin gaahak gun vecheeai tau gun sahagho jaae |
If virtue is sold when there is no buyer, then it is sold very cheap.
ਜੇ ਕੋਈ ਗਾਹਕ ਨਾਹ ਹੋਵੇ ਤੇ (ਕੋਈ) ਗੁਣ (ਭਾਵ, ਕੋਈ ਕੀਮਤੀ ਪਦਾਰਥ) ਵੇਚੀਏ ਤਾਂ ਉਹ ਗੁਣ ਸਸਤੇ-ਭਾ ਵਿਕ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, (ਭਾਵ, ਉਸ ਦੀ ਕਦਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਪੈਂਦੀ)।
ਗੁਣ ਕਾ ਗਾਹਕੁ ਜੇ ਮਿਲੈ ਤਉ ਗੁਣੁ ਲਾਖ ਵਿਕਾਇ ॥
gun kaa gaahak je milai tau gun laakh vikaae |
But if one meets a buyer of virtue, then virtue sells for hundreds of thousands.
ਪਰ ਜੇ ਗੁਣ ਦਾ ਗਾਹਕ ਮਿਲ ਪਏ ਤਾਂ ਉਹ ਬਹੁਤ ਕੀਮਤ ਨਾਲ ਵਿਕਦਾ ਹੈ।
